sigma_20_f1-4artSigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Pros: Almost everything

Cons: Weight, Cap

Opinion: I bought this lens as a gift, skeptical knowing the 35 art (Particular lens but not to my taste) I was instead very well impressed by this 20mm... on nikon F in fact there is nothing comparable ... lens that holds the falling well, very limited distortion and the typical rendering of the art in short, which on this focal length is very interesting... It is easy to say that the compromise to be accepted is the weight... 950gr... Quite a bit

nikon_afs58gNikon AF-S 58mm f/1.4 G

Pros: Yield, bokeh, colors, all around

Cons: Plastic?, Af sometimes uncertain and a slow hair, curvature of field

Opinion: It is a 58mm, it is not a 50mm and does not replace it that does not replace an 85mm for perspective vision, but compared to an 85 1.4 Nikon for blurred does not fear it and indeed .. fabulous progression .. Merits? Practically a lot... Sharpness, fairly ready colors, light management (ok, loses contrast and 1/3 stop on the highlights but it takes to burn them), micro contrast right and not exasperated, holds the coma well; The 58mm are already excellent for the portrait set and mention the cut to 3/4 as the half bust horizontally ... Focal that also lends itself very well between alleys and the like up to the landscape with closed diaphragms ... In short, it has become in a very short time one of my favorite lenses (and already often use ujn old 58 1.4 minolta but on sony). Defects? To the plastic touch for such a lens but at the same time it weighs little, probably on SLR the real limit is the focus a slow and uncertain hair perhaps due to the curvature of the lens; on bokeh there is little to say, one of those optics that you buy for this and is almost comparable to the cream machine 85 1.4D precisely, if we want an aspect to take into account is the curvature of the field that projects the areas from the subject to the edges a little forward on the line of focus, it means that if there are 2 subjects one of the two will not be on the hypothetical focal plane chosen (like the 35 f2 AFD you have to think well how to arrange people and how to angle in the case), but probably this allows a greater blur behind the areas out of focus from the subject to the edges, so using the center and recomposing is not in fact practical for this lens at full aperture; I believe that once you learn to manage is one of those irreplaceable lenses that create strong addiction, on the contrary it will remain in the backpack to end up directly on the market if you do not make the effort to understand the lens and above all make the mistake of thinking it a substitute for a 50mm, the 50mm is more cheeky and functional in use as a normal all-rounder, the 58mm best suited to the single subject and the portrait; small clarification regarding the comparison with the classic 50mm planar , I own the 50 1.4D and also ta has a global contrast and micro contrast more accentuated that can return a three-dimensionality sometimes (even for perspective) more incisive, for what I noticed the 58mm have more difficulty maintaining the contrast in general but the result is a right three-dimensionality with better cohesion behind despite the most pronounced blur, What is also found in the 85 1.4 Nikon but with a very different perspective and different reading of the scene ... If we want this 58mm is an alternative to the portrait canvas in normal style.

nikon_af28-105dNikon AF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 D

Pros: Comfortable, quality, colors, honest overall rendering

Cons: Vignette a little especially at 28mm, not constant opening

Opinion: In the past I had the 28-70 and 70-210 of the same series, this lens seems decidedly superior to the first 2 at a more than honest price, it is about € 100 and is worth them all, indeed I would say even more: the colors are natural and types of the af-d series, honest backlight hold, not excessive contrast and right micro contrast, what is surprising is the sharpness also at TA on the entire focal range in the center with a more marked tendency towards the telephoto focal lengths to generate coma (already in the immediate out of focus), it improves a lot aperture at 5.6 on the whole excursion even if the vignetting remains present up to f8 and disappears only at F11 (it is particularly noticeable also at 5.6 at 28mm); The sharpness is also right on my d3x, while on 12mpx the coma is less evident and it is the d3, d3s and d700 that I think are the ideal machines for this lens, where even get to shoot at 12800 ISO does not involve major problems of transmittance or similar; Another interesting aspect is the almost parafocal behavior on the entire focal range, with the exception of a range between 50 and 28mm where probably the internal movements change the focus, this allows in video (still aspect to be verified if usable for the ring a little hard) to make zoom in-out up to 2x (type 105/50mm) with a difference of half a stop of light, at least I'm testing a7s and full HD; Regarding the build quality it is acceptable but not comparable to the fixed of the AF-D series, a lot of good quality plastic that make it a fairly slim and compact optics, with the exception of the elongation of the barrel to 105mm but which holds the inclined positions ... In short, today you take home between 100 and 150 € and it is a more than honest price considering performance and construction, difficult I think to find something better at this price for Nikon with this excursion; finally macro... It is not an apo and suffers especially at aperturte and in the out of focus even here of aberrations (coma) as it is not excessively micro contrasted ... but it is an all-round and non-specialist optics but as far as I'm concerned it's more than good for some non-demanding still life shots; last bokeh aspect... It is not a portrait lens with an important bokeh, but very progressive keeps the subject cohesive with what is around, as described by other users you from what you see and a travel and every day perspective really comfortable, undemanding and versatile; Note the lens is sharp throughout the excursion, in reality climbed the 50mm in the out of focus forward the spherical aberration is very noticeable that in the back focus with a more evident coma and a bit of purple fringing on the blue, especially then on the focal tele eye to focus even if it is enough to already close 5.6 and the lens improves.

Pros: Total build quality

Cons: Plate-only and expensive filters

Opinion: Taken used in fair conditions, in the hand it is perceived it is an important lens both as a construction (in metal) and yield, simply the wide angle for nikon F; The defects are known, flare resistance and the protrusion of the front lens that makes it difficult to mount even plate filters, while the weight can be considered right considering the materials used.

nikon_d3xNikon D3x

Pros: Machine body PRO

Cons: All if we consider the technological gap to 2022

Opinion: If you buy a D3x in 2022 it is because you are not really interested in all the good of God that can be found on the latest SLR and ML to current technology, you buy a pro, ergonomic camera body that churns out very workable raw files of excellent quality (in raw 14bit uncompressed are 50Mb per file); Regarding the nominal ISO at 1600 are not so poor as I read on the net but for the high ISO I rely on the twin D3S to which I could not reunite regarding the noise tightness (especially chromatic) even today; That said I found it at € 600 with 100 thousand shots, at this price I did not think too much.

Pros: I think everything

Cons: I didn't find any

Opinion: I don't know what to add compared to the other comments, slow tried more than once... simply perfect in any situation (even portrait) with a nice bokeh not at all trivial ... Considering the price, size, aperture, yield I think it is the best lens of the GM series followed by the 135mm, the 2 lenses I could buy in the future

minolta_rokkor58Minolta MD Rokkor 58mm f/1.4

Pros: Construction, opening, bokeh, focus ring, yield

Cons: Anti-glare dotting, risk of fungi on the used (age of the lens), coma at 1.4 and at the edges up to f 2.8, front light resistance

Opinion: I rewrite my review after a few weeks of use: I bought 2 specimens, the first arrived with mushrooms (not visible from the photos put by the seller, incorrect), then the second in good condition (it belonged to a collector); the lens is all metal with a generous and very precise focus ring, fire management also helped by the very detailed optical yield already at 1.4 with a coma that is evident especially in the out of focus; the optical scheme looks a bit like the biotar zeiss (I read on the net more similar to a leica) in any case it is from a vintage lens with a very pronounced progression in the blurred that means that the detachment is never exaggerated, however with a bokeh in the out of focus very pleasant and at close distances to 1.4 a hint of swirly effect that is immediately run to f2 where immediately you pass from circular shapes hexagonal shapes on the light points in the blurred; the color rendering also depends on the state of the MC treatment but probably primitive that is affected above all by strong front lights and an increase in coma if the leci are located in the frame especially on the edges where the effect is already accentuated of its own, but in principle in normal conditions the yield is very neutral with faithful colors that in one of the 2 copies tends to yellow only at 1.4, decidedly low contrast as the micro contrast which, however, immediately highlights from f2 a simply extraordinary detail; I acqiustato this optics to use it its a7s and behaves perfectly, I do not know with more mpx but in general I find it very beautiful in photos and portraits, exceptional (with attention to the lights) in the video where the dynamic range is abundantly helped by the contrast definitely not exaggerated; I would therefore say that those who in the past have been lucky enough to find it on € 50 if they kept it tight, optics very different from many others, even of my old 50 1.4D, today it is between € 80-100 and the main problem is the state of conservation, in any case regarding the dotting on the anti-reflection placed on one of the internal lenses improves if the lens is kept a little in the sun.

minolta_af35-70_f4Minolta AF 35-70mm f/4

Pros: Dimensions and weight, yield, constant opening,

Cons: focal excursion

Opinion: Personally I have a manual version focus tokina not present on this forum that was produced a few years before and is less contrasted, but this lens is in the possession of a dear friend of mine in a minolta af version with a better anti-reflex treatment. The scheme is similar to the leica 35-70 f4 (only one corrective element changes in the rear scheme) and the sharpness is similar for those who have had the opportunity to compare them; at 70mm it has a pleasant blur with a tendency in the out of focus to a marked and pleasant spherical aberration less enjoyable at 35mm, in any case already from 5.6 begins to recover the edges, but the best thing happens at closed apertures where on the 12mpx of my a7s I had the opportunity to shoot at f16/f22 with a decidedly tolerable infraction; The seal against light is not equal to modern lenses but there is and in any case both the tokina (present for OM, K and MD attack) and the minolta are very little; I recently got to use my tokina on video and I have to be honest that it pleasantly hit me with a t-stop that looks exact, very natural colors, constant aperture f4 just at 35 and 70mm, zoom ring quite fluid, ditto the focus with the transition from 35 to 70mm where the focus (focusing at 70mm) remains quite precise on the subject without needing (on a static shot) to focus again, in short, for what it costs is a wildcard lens that can also be used for excursions; last interesting consideration for close ups where you can pull out with a particular blurred excellent results (see out and similar).

helios44m_58f2Helios 44M 58mm f/2.0

Pros: Yield, half-stop aperture ring, swirly effect, Construction, 8 slats, diaphragm lock ring

Cons: Non-MC anti-glare treatment, sharpness up to f4 apsc-ff edges

Opinion: It is not given as the best version among the Helios also by virtue of the minimum focusing distance greater than 5cm compared to the others that in fact does not allow you to approach in the same way in the close up but the lens basically collects the legacy of the 44-2 and 44-3 versions with 8 slats for a slightly creamier bokeh to ta but in the portrait the same type of swirly effect; the anti-reflex treatment seemed to me to be better than the 44-2, and clearly worse than the MC 44-3 treatment although comparing with a 44-6 in my possession it suffers a little more in the counter light but it is not even so bad; regarding the focus this version is similar to the 44-4/5/6/7 with the ring that moves half a stop at a time (much more comfortable on ML than the use of the 2 rings of the 44-2, 44-3) with the difference that in addition to the button placed under the lens there is an additional ring that allows you to quickly disarm and insert the manual / automatic opening, which can be convenient using on nikon with adapter and thus reach a closer focusing distance of about 40cm to make close ups without the aid of macro tubes, maintaining control of the aperture without making changes on the bayonet (ie the block of the button placed under the lens); ultimately the best version had was the 44-3 in terms of overall yield to follow I would say this version that I prefer functionally to the 44-2.

Pros: Colors, bokeh, sharpness in the center, construction

Cons: edges, purple fringing

Opinion: Usually I wait before writing about a lens but for years I have been looking for shots and opinions, it is one of the best nikon lenses for portrait, old-fashioned metal construction, simply spectacular bokeh (for my taste), excellent colors on the d3s, extreme edges not excellent but it is not a problem for a portrait lens; ac forgivable? certainly at 1.4 expect this too but overall negligible defects considering the color rendering and bokeh.

olympus_zuiko135autotOlympus E-Zuiko Auto-T 135mm f/3.5

Pros: Construction, colors, sharpness in the center, weight and dimensions

Cons: Resistance against light, bayonet clip

Opinion: There are lenses that probably have no age, this 135 small and compact and slender, and is built really well both in terms of quality of the materials used (metal) and to see my specimen on the glasses; it is not a modern lens and does not have modern treatments, in short, it does not keep the backlight but it is also beautiful for this reason, appreciable in certain portraits with its marked tendency to lose contrast; it is sharp enough already at 3.5 in the center with a bit of astigmatism at the edges that goes to reduce closed 5.6, the optimal range of uniformity center edge f8-f11, with infringement to f16 (But not even so much); the colors are beautiful and natural, micro contrast right, in short, balanced; the bokeh suffers from the ungenerous opening and the minimum focusing distance of 1.5m, in any case it is pleasant with a good blur; if you can find a defect is in the bayonet attachment, internally the closing spring of the clip is held firm by 2 pins of the only hard plastic element that I found, perhaps the age maybe just the choice in the specimen that I found (immaculate for everything else) one of these 2 pins had broken making the spring go off-site, for now I have solved by creating a thickness to hold the spring in place, alternatively you can think of creating 2 holes to the bayonet and screw the spring to the same with 2 small glasses screws.

nikon_105dcNikon AF 105mm f/2 D DC

Pros: Particular Optics, colors, construction

Cons: Af in the use of de focus.

Opinion: For years I was considering the purchase of a DC nikon, undecided between the 135 and the 105 also having the 180mm I opted for the smallest for versatility and perspective vision: the scheme of the 2 DC nikon is practically that of the nikon 85 1.8D (from various readings on the history of these optics) and in fact the color rendering is the same but the project is more accurate and can be seen from the materials used, from the fact that a TA has no particular chromatic aberrations if not a little coma up to 2.5 (something common to almost all af-d and this is no exception), however from the first shots this lens does not suffer from purple fringing like my 85 in contrast areas; 20mm difference compared to the 85 make the blurred more creamy and decisive to ta and you notice, as you notice the weight of the lens a little more important in the materials used; the de focus is very particular... it is a matter of varying in an "incorrect" way the spherical aberration, in the front position it tends to blur the foreground more and become hard in the blurred behind and to blanch a little, rear on the contrary does the exact opposite, obviously this behavior is not exempt from problems such as accentuated coma (in the maximum excursion of the very accentuated de focus) and the af calibration that is missing with front and back focus in the out-of-specification use limiting in fact the use in manual focus or accepting the out of focus used in af.

olympus_zuiko50_f3-5automacroOlympus Zuiko 50mm f/3.5 Auto-macro

Pros: Colors, sharpness, construction, beautiful focus ring, weight and size, price used

Cons: held against light? opening?

Opinion: Sold my 105 macro now fallen into oblivion I needed a lens that would allow me to photograph small products if necessary and I was looking for a macro focal length on the 50-60mm more suitable for this genre, from a friend I was recommended this lens that now in his years and I found a specimen that seems to come out of the store ... the colors are beautiful and natural, the micro contrast not excessive but from 5.6-11 sharp throughout the frame, the impeccable construction from all points of view, the focus ring simply perfect with an excursion that is fast from infinity to one meter and becomes precision and long then up to the maximum magnification 1: 2; this is for me a great lens that sins for the opening of the diaphragm not generous and a little seal against light (after all we are talking about a glass of the 70s).

tamron_17-28rxdTamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD

Pros: closed global yield of one stop, seal against light, weight, overall dimensions

Cons: distortion, materials?

Opinion: Basically an excellent compromise for these focal lengths, the lens must be closed at f4 to have a more uniform center edge rendering and with less astigmatism at the edges, from 5.6 to f11 I think it is simply excellent; hold against light really good as control of the ac, global yield I would say excellent, fast af even on a7 II and more than good even on an old woman like the a7s; negative notes the obvious dystrosion at 17mm which is still corrected in the room or lens profile in post.

Pros: all

Cons: I don't know

Opinion: Probably one of the best lenses for this relatively important size, weight and dimensions considering that it is an equivalent 130 in full format; optics with a good yield already from f2, ac contained, af right and better than that of 56 1.2; the bokeh is as good as the color rendering I did not find relevant negative points, in short for me a must have on this system.

Pros: Color rendering, ac seal, sharpness, colors, construction, weight and size

Cons: Falling lines

Opinion: I got to try this optics for a few days, beautiful in all or almost... It would have been considered the best apsc optics of its kind, well built, good colors, sharp from 10 to 24 already from f4, refraction not even so annoying on the 26mpx up to f8, but not even exaggerated to f11.. in short everything perfect except that it tends to suffer a lot from the vertical lines especially between 10 and 18mm and by memory much more than other lenses of the same segment that I have owned on Nikon, in short, managing the lines on this lens is a bit difficult, in short ok for landscape, less in use for street or events in my opinion , maybe just a matter of habit.

Pros: Yield, bokeh, build quality.

Cons: Af

Opinion: I got to try this lens recently, lens which is actually the alternative of the equivalent 85 1.8 in full format. The overall yield is excellent, such as bokeh, ac seal, ta vignette etc. Dimensions even not exaggerated considering that it is a 56mm 1.2 although for apsc; the real downside is af, especially with little light never hooking on the first shot, very slow; personally on fuji as a portrait lens I prefer the 90 f2, I think for a matter of taste, in any case good portrait lens.

Cons: Do you have any?

Opinion: Tried on x-s10, coupled perfect even considering machine size, it is its lens!! good on all aspects, lens yield, colors, not even so soft to f2, built well... Excellent on all aspects, I can not find defects, even the af is quite responsive, usable even in videos, finally built also well.

fujifilm_x-s10Fujifilm X-S10

Pros: Grip, size, weight, build quality and materials, sensor, articulated screen

Cons: ergonomics, operational slowness

Opinion: I never had fuji but I was always tempted, I tried xh1 and xt4 before and I simply fell in love with it, the rendering of fuji optics on this excellent format, the IQ and color rendering of the latest sensors idem... in short, I have always considered fuji the reference for this format. This fuji is basically a revised xt4 without the beautiful ergonomics typical of this brand, this makes it much more like sony aps-c ML and therefore slow to always have to access the menus to adjust the shooting parameters; good there is however the excellent grip given the size of the machine, the few buttons at the right points; with regard to af is not equal to other brands but it seemed precise, it depends a lot on the lens used, for example the 35 f2 works well, the 56 1.2 instead is slow and inaccurate, the stabilizer works well, you can always leave it connected and in this case I noticed that the machine heats up a little; Good video side, there is the eternal profile with the 200Mbs 4k from 29fps, I tried some shooting and considered a stabilizer on sensor and software stabilization (crop 1.1 in the videos) I managed to make a small signed from freehand retainer with the 90 to f2, I do not know if the stabilizer is as good as the one present on panasonic but usable without gimbal; I think it is a beautiful car for those who travel and make streets with small optics, I can think of the 23 f2 and the 35 f2 for example, it becomes too unbalanced with more important optics but still holds well, good also for video considering the stabilizer that allows shooting even without gimbal.

Pros: is the only 28mm f2, colors, sharpness in the center, backlight seal, construction, weight, bokeh

Cons: sharp extreme edges even closed to f11, distortion

Opinion: taken for video on a7s, focal that I prefer for this use compared to 24mm, the lens is made well (I know that the paint does not last much but all metal); optically slow good but not excellent, at the extreme edges it never totally recovers even at f11 (curvature of field?), while at f2 usable with good central-2/3 sharpness of the frame with a good bokeh; af on the a7s precise but not fast (also affects the machine)

Cons: Some flares, variable samples

Opinion: It is an excellent lens, sharp already ta in the center, excellent colors, good hold against light and little flare, very low ac (a little coma) weight and also excellent size; af fast enough even on a7 first version, a flaw... variable sample, I happened to have a decentralized version... unfortunately with samyang some failed pieces happen..

Pros: General lens yield, TA sharpness, colors, blurry, weight

Cons: plastic, minimum focus distance

Opinion: Taken after buying the 18, intrigued by this beautiful FE series, it does not cost very much but the substance is all there, already at TA on a7s I was amazed by the global yield, closed by f2 simply excellent, warm colors (a bit nikon af-d style as I like it), blurry and bokeh good. The af is not very fast but it is good, it suffers on a7s (but maybe it is the car); for the rest great weight and size, plastic construction but to be evaluated over time, for now it's fine so, price also stands for the results, it could be a must have on sony.

Pros: Global yield, weight (who knows if it's good)

Cons: Construction(?), lampshed,flare

Opinion: The first impression in hand was a can cut with a glass like a lampshed... all very very light!!! If it's a good thing you'll see over time... moving instead to the yield at 2.8 has slightly soft corners and you notice vignetting, from f4 no longer vignette and the edges are good, from 5.6-f11 good from the center to the corners in the same way ... in short, it does exactly what I was hoping for, not like the samyang 10mm I had, but much better than the samyang 14 that had disappointed me a lot, even the distortion seems quite contained, in short for now it promises well; good colors, contrast and micro contrast right, if we really want to suffer a little flare in the backlight with front and also lateral light.

sigma_35_f1-4Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Pros: clarity already from TA, uniformity of yield

Cons: Weight

Opinion: I start that I am not a lover of art (fond of different and less modern yields) but I must admit that this 35 1.4 art is really great in many respects, at 1.4 excellent center and not only, from 1.6-2 has a sharpness that goes from the center up to 2/3 of the very uniform frame, from f2 even already to the corners, in short an impeccable yield, natural colors and creamy and uniform blurry. As already seen with the 17-70 C years ago the MAF's ring rubber gets dirty easily and the lampsho is a bit uncomfortable to release and re-angle, otherwise apart from the weight and size (but it is a 1.4 also) there is not much to say.

Pros: Weight, ISO, Full HD Video

Cons: No stabilization, ergonomics, battery life

Opinion: I needed a machine mainly for full hd videos and lately there are several a7s at much more affordable prices. if the intention is to stop you at full hd I think it is one of the best, XACV-S format at 50MB excellent and easily workable, with very customizable profiles in range, color etc...; from a photographic point of view accustomed to nikon bodies (currently writing I have nikon d3s) there is no history (ergonomics, battery life, general use of the machine) so I just consider the aspects of sensor yield good from iso 100 up to 12 thousand, colors and overall excellent yield.

Pros: Size and weight, construction, color rendering, blurry

Cons: Vignetting and f2 coma, extreme angles even with closed diaphragms

Opinion: I was missing a 35, the market offers many solutions on this focal but both for an economic discourse and compactness of the lens itself I opted for this small 35 af-d f2: the colors are beautiful and the lens is not contrasted and micro overthused (it goes well with the sensor of my ds3), the blurry also interesting; I was hoping to use it better at f2 but the lens is sober with obvious coma at this opening and must be closed at least 2.2-2.5, all in all it is not a drama, at 2.8 it is sharp for 2/3 of the frame without vignetting but in landscape use the extreme corners are always a soft hair even with closed diaphragms, on the other hand the difraction is not excessive and tolerable even up to f16; I do not know how it behaves on densest sensors but on machines such as d700 or d3s I definitely recommend it; p.s. attention to field curvature, using the center and recomposing is not good with this focus lens.

Pros: 14, price, opening, sharpness in the middle

Cons: distortion, yield to edges, focus

Opinion: I had the 10 on aps-c and decided to buy this optics, the overall yield is not bad (colors, flare tightness, sharpness in the center), but bad there is distortion with very stretched and not particularly sharp edges, a perhaps more accentuated curvature that make focus more difficult (more than I thought) at a constructive level seems very solid anyway.

Pros: Image quality and raw workability, HIGH ISO seal, AF, white balance, double slot, battery life, general ergonomics, viewfinder, construction

Cons: Weight and size, HD-only video, Quiet shot not really quiet

Opinion: In contrast to the current scenario in 2021 I decided to continue to stay on reflex and buy this body replacing the trust d700, more than I expected the machine I find very current, for me the 12mpx were never a problem and considering the investment on the af-d series optics are the right ones for this format; the ergonomics of the machine are not discussed, the precise af, white balance and perfect exposure already in the car, perhaps on the landscape photography sins in recoveries not being invariant iso sensor and with only 12 env; the files are very similar to what I was already working on d700, in post there is little to fix with the advantage of high iso seal up to 12800 usable (more than I hoped); in short, she is a nikon flagship and there is little to do, as far as the council is today strongly.

Opinion: Arrived Friday, used Saturday night on my trust d700 for most of the evening, little to add to what already written ... if just there is something to say with very diffuse light you notice a little AC to f1.8 (especially coma), otherwise compact lens, well built, blurry very nice... the lens I was missing

Pros: Size, Weight, Price, Construction, Chromatic Yield, Flare Hold, Sharpness, Starry, Precision AF

Cons: Given the price ... I would say none

Opinion: I was looking for a handyman for my d700, I would have preferred to have a fixed f2.8 but both for a matter of cost and for a matter of clutter and weight I opted on this lens and it was a surprise, better than I expected! Specifically at TA it is already very sharp in the center with a bit of a coma at the corners (especially at 28mm, where it is softer and is noticeable barrel distortion) but just close by a stop and the lens shows a surprising sharpness all over the frame , in general the yield is fairly uniform at the same opening diaphragm over the entire focal excursion, good colors, contrast, excellent seal ingess compared to aberrations and flares, excellent starry 18-pointed (very defined on any excursion), construction definitely good (it seems assembled better than other af-d lenses like the 50 1.4D), focus not very fast but decidedly precise (a bit noisy but so are other lenses of the same series), ultimately as much as it definitely costs to have to kit.

Cons: Af slow, lens hood closed flush front lense

Opinion: It ' a lens that immediately strikes already to see it... one of the few 180/200 luminous with a small size, made with good materials and very compact; From the first blurry shots nice and pleasant and good resolve, not very contrasted, also bright (does not seem to lose in real T-stop); If we want the only flaws are the AF a bit slow, the lens hood that closed goes on the front edge, lateral AC.

Pros: Price, size and weight, yield from 2.2 onwards

Cons: Plastic connection, very noisy autofocus, longitudinal AC in out of focus areas

Opinion: Taken for a friend and tried on the fly, is the 50ino honest with which to start experimenting a little on the portrait (and not only) on APS-C: A ta you see a bit of coma (in vintage style) but just close a little and from 2.2 the lens behaves quite well , in any case there are longitudinal AC (green in the background and red in foreground) in the areas out of focus but not particularly annoying; In short for the price there is everything... Sin attack plastic bayonet (CMQ weighs little) and the AF slow and noisy.. Too bad it's not WR.

Pros: Kinda everything in this segment

Cons: I don't know

Opinion: I had never had to deal with this brand, if not read on the net, tried a specimen of a friend... for the price range in which it ranks surprised me and not little, the impression is of an entry level that does not fear the comparison with a semi-pro... ergnomica in hand you Does track better than my Nikon, management that I found intuitive and decidedly less cumbersome in the menus than Nikon... even the 18-55 in the supplied I thought it was better made than those provided in the related SLR entry compartments of other brands... will be the Number of lenses, it will be a matter of marketing I do not know... but to leather and as first impression this little one is worth every euro spent... definitely more interesting than the competition... brand that deserves more attention.

Pros: Good build quality, price, general yield

Cons: Opening, soft at 210mm, barrel lengthening

Opinion: Although perplexed about buying a zoom I decided to take this 70-210mm AF f4-5.6 (not D) for the cost on the used in order to bridge the lack of focal lengths over the 100mm, after trying the same on D700; The build quality is good and the weight/dimensions all in all contained, AF not very fast but precise enough; The yield is not uniform on the whole excursion, in particular to the extremes at full opening is soft and at F8 begins to notice already difraction, is a close lens of a 1/3 stop at least over the entire focal range and is quite sharp from 105m to 135mm closed F 4.5 C On a nice bokeh; At the chromatic level it responds with neutral colors and well balanced and a good contrast, with minimal chromatic aberrations even at TA where it presents mild AC; In general to what you can find used I consider it an interesting optic with a good value for money, also useful as "stage holes" in your photographic kit.

Pros: Price, construction, color rendering, already TA sharpness, bokeh, starry

Cons: Flare

Opinion: Lens had for a while on Nikon D80, similar to the 50 1.4 D as yield, excellent sharpness already in TA in the center but with AC, perfect for 2.5, only sins for a more fuzzy blurred and flare backlight; Made less contrasting and colors more shepherds than the G-series, much better the starry (also of 50 1.4 D); As far as it costs great lens to consider for portrait on APS-C (American cut) or how it all do on FF to start.

Pros: Construction and ergonomics, raw, color profiling, reliability, weight (for some), 12MPX sensor, AF

Cons: ISO seal, non-ISO-invariant sensor, dynamic range, viewfinder cover 95%, weight (for others), no remote shutter release via IR;

Opinion: Reliable, ergonomic and robust... this would suffice to cowin that a D700 in a Nikon kit can stand us; The limits of the sensor are there and are undeniable (non-ISO invariant sensor, dynamic range, ISO-like seal similar to modern APS-C), but the 12mpx are a godsend especially if you plan to point to a more dated and less expensive outfit, in fact the D700 makes it well with Qu Alsiasi Lens (also bottle bottoms); The profiling of color has been done for good and is one of the few machines with which you can shoot directly in jpg (eye only to white balance with artificial light); The AF is among the best I've tried... it hardly misses a shot, especially using the control Panel; Weight and size can be discriminating as comfortable, personally used with compact lenses such as 24 2.8 and 50 1.4 D I find it perfect, still comfortable and well balanced even with heavier lenses such as the 105 sigma macro; There are many other things missing... but if you only need to take pictures is essentially what you need... Despite the age recommended (especially for the price to which it is).

Opinion: the 18-50 would have been a better choice for size and weight for this segment, but the wide-angle rendering made me prefer this sleek, sleek lens, certainly better constructed than other kitten lenses (see nikon 18-55 and 18 105 nikon), the rendering in line with the same band, of fact is one to consider a f5.6-f8, has a decent flare and backlight strength, all natural and enjoyable colors

Pros: Weight, Dimensions, Construction Quality, Case Covered

Cons: Lacking ballast hook, not suitable for heavy equipment, missing bubble, plate supplied poorly.

Opinion: Taken at a tattered price (last known store piece), although it is a compact it is made as it should, everything in aluminum, except the head, the crop is really compact and lightweight, the housing is very comfortable; 3 useful positions but with lightweight systems it is possible to use the total rotation of the legs and bring the same on the ground level, so have a maximum height of about 30cm (I think I can use it mainly with lightweight systems, type ML) down, best to leave the head extension to the minimum (definitely not stable at the maximum height); the ball head is plasticous, non-frustrating but acceptable, missing the bubble (but repaired), the plate supplied is just decent (with 4 € it takes a decent one from the bay); maximum height not excellent, but still good for landscaping and I also believe in macro accent, dating); lacks a hook to pocket it (a little fancy and remodeled), recommended for long-distance hikes(probably better than the carbon version but this seems just right as a weight).

Pros: Size, weight, color rendition, resolution on FF, cost

Cons: Yield on APS-C, chromatic aberrations

Opinion: It is a lens with a good chromatic rendering, less contrarated than modern lenses, but it suffers from comratic aberrations in TA and coma, above all on APS-C size evident up to F4; It solves the FF format well (probably up to 24mpx) but not so much the APS-C format (I don't recommend going beyond the 16MPX), while the blur is a bit rough and hard (the best yield from 5.6 to F8); The build quality is good, so weight and size, lens I recommend for these reasons on FF if you are looking for a fixed 24 honest and compact, but can be easily replaced by a good 24-70 or on DX by a 17-50/70.

Pros: F. 14, color rendition closed one stop on, sharpness from F2, size and weight, starry

Cons: Coma and AC longitudinal to open diaphragms, focus ring, color rendition to TA (may not be a defect)

Opinion: I've been using this lens for a year now on DX and FX, compared to 50 1.8 D is less hard and better keeps the backlight (better anti-glare treatment), but the yield is almost similar from 1.8 onwards, so it is to be assessed if you do not need such an opening the purchase of the version 1.8 d costing less than half of the used; The colors are doughy and less contraated than the modern lenses (a TA and up to F2 some shades are slightly desaturated), while the Blur is a little more nervous and the bokeh at the edges tends to the onion effect round anyway up to F2, from F 2.2 onwards takes on hexagonal shape (The slats are not smoothed as in the G series); The lens suffers from coma and AC obvious longitudinal to TA, it improves on FF already from 1.6, while on APS-C you have to close at least F2, on both systems the best from F 2.5 to F4 with a reduction of the AC (still visible in the areas out of focus even at closed diaphragms); The csotrctive level is good but not excelled with the focus ring in the manual not very comfortable; Lens that I recommend more on FF than on APS-C (where I recommend alternatively the 50 1.8 D or 50 1.8 g); Lens to try and a little to understand especially in TA with a yield a little particular.

Pros: General ergonomics, sensor yield, raw machinability, 16mpx

Cons: AF and constant exposure meter, slow Live view, color profiling and noise recovery in the machine, dirt on the sensor

Opinion: It would have been the best APS-C made by Nikon if it were not for the unfortunate choice of the AF module 39 points (especially with little barrel light at least half of the photos and tends to back focus with all the D-series Optics I tried-to be calibrated in the car-) , AF as constant as the same light meter and profiling color that does not do justice to the excellent sensor Sony 16MPX anyway with a raw good to work in post production; The ergonomics are good and from what you tried better than the next (at least for me); Another sore point the sensor tends to get dirty easily, so it is better to learn to clean it yourself; Machine that I recommend anyway compared to any Nikon entry series D5x00 or D3x00 and anyway if you want a modern sensor (and ISO invariant) that will squeeze less optics (less AC than the 24mpx).

Pros: Compact, lightweight and solid construction, particular bokeh, a bit "dreamlike" in TA

Cons: Existence sharpness if not diaphragmed at least 5.6 (on my specimen), better f8

Opinion: This lens was given to me along with the purchase of the sigma 105 2.8 os, so gift and lens unexpectedly supplied, and in fact I had originally thought of selling it; Probably the worst lens meyer ever realized by what i know, sharpness that you begin to appreciate from 5.6 up (let's say sharp on current dens sensors at f8) but this is not the point, on nikon I tried to make close ups (Obviously being m42 does not go over 1.5m of fire with a simple adapter) and it is certainly not its strong, rather its rendering to TA makes it interesting for unconventional shots with a few pastel colors, very interesting for close-up / Macro settings, also for the typical characteristic of bubble bokeh (in trioplan style); Other traditional macro surprises, f8 the lens is quite resolved, on nikon of the focus the focus is very close with a no-lens adapter (i did not calculate exactly the magnification) but with only 1cm of tubes it drops to about 0 , 5x, to f11 the diffractionIt's not particularly obvious and what's interesting seems to have no problems with Chromatic Aberrations on particularly contrasted areas (what I noticed was plagued by species in the use of flash on some slow insects even like the 40 micro which I had and the 105 sigma), in short it seems An interesting alternative to my 40 micro which I sold to buy the sisgma 105 to get snap shot with less blurry backgrounds; Obviously also has some other negative side on the use of modern dslr, the diaphragm ring is jerky so the focus may be a difficult coat in non-optimal light conditions by holding the selected diaphragm of interest (not easy to go from 2.8 to Closed diaphragm, it would be convenient to use the second ring as on the 44-2 helios), the rest being a lens made of metal but still very compact and lightweight; Finally the price on ebay around 30-50 €, I do not know whether it is worth it, maybe you can even find it even less ... all in all is a lens that can vent a little to the fantThing and singular shots.

Pros: Build quality, optical stabilizer, compatibility with Nikon Total (impeccable exposure and AF accuracy), no barrel lengthening, working distance, chromatic rendition, AF limiter, horizontal stabilizer deactivation for panning.

Cons: Nobody, the weight maybe?

Opinion: It is probably one of the best lenses ever produced by Sigma, both at build quality level and virtually total compatibility on Nikon, precise AF and fast enough for a macro (has selectable AF limiter), excellent on all Nikon machines had (DX Entry and semi Pro, then FX), good chromatic yield although very micro contrasted (but it is a macro); In macro it has a good operational distance and without barrel lengthening, also the stabilizer helps a lot in the macro 1:1 free-hand sort if it goes down under the safety times (on DX I have taken macro to 1/60 freehand); At short distance is a blade also in TA on reduced size with only a few AC up to F4, while it tends to be soft used as tele (must be diaphragmed 5.6), on full size is impeccable, no AC, Ultra sharp both at close distances and in Untilizzo from Tele g there at TA; Although it is a macro is also interesting in the portrait, with a very soft blur of what is in the background with a definite detachment (which as far as not compatible with my liking is quite enjoyable), limit in post production then give a-15 -20 both of contrast and Chia Safety, honest but not superlative bokeh; Generally I recommend it to start taking macro (even freehand), not as a portrait lens although it can be a useful alternative to approach the subject and take details of the body; Perhaps only downside the weight species on DX entry bodies or semi Pro where it is quite unbalanced.

Cons: Lack of treatment MC

Opinion: I don't want to spend many words on this lens, talking about flaws is pointless.. Because the defects are the merits, that is blurry with swirl effect and image little contrasted and not modern... so a rendition a little of other times if we want.. For €20 the advice for those who want to start evaluating vintage lenses, including lens that fits on Nikon quickly and with a €1 adapter and a few minutes to internally space the optical groups without losing particularly in yield reaching infinity on APS-C and still useful distance for a portrait set on FF.

Cons: AC (on sigma 105 macro in TA at f4 visible in backlight), AF calibration (sigma 105 2.8 to f4 with lightweight TC back focus, d5200 can not be corrected), slight decrease in sharpness and contrast.

Opinion: Taken after the sale of the canvas to be used on the sigma 105 2.8 stabilized macro of the same series: it is compact and weighs little, keeps the automatics on the sigma 105 macro (running af 0.45m at infinity) but unfortunately on my D5200 light back focus (I will probably use it to f8 on moving subjects or manual focus in portrait); At the level of yield loses detail in any case since the lens is less contrasted in the portrait with TC I find the most pleasant (less sharp) yield, otherwise the blur remains the same; At a bright chromatic level AC in backlight or strongly contrasted to f4, which is attenuated by diaphragming the lens to at least 5.6, inevitable I think using a TC, otherwise the lens is less contrasted and with less microcontrural but still of excellent quality ; Macro side at the same focal distance of fact from a 1.4: 1 magnification, allowing for a greater distance for 1: 1 shots, at maximum magnification at equal apertures I did not notice any major leak loss, I would say the lens behaves pretty much Well permittingTo blur better the background, I will test the yield in the next few days with this use, especially in terms of AC using flash on insects with shiny body parts; Probability on dx format has a worse impact than the FX format, on the other hand at the same focal point as my sigma 105 I think is much better than what I saw on my old tamron 70-300 VC USD, as soon as I can buy a 180mm probably I will sell it, so far it is a good handbag if needed.

Opinion: On APS-C is the 50mm all make equivalent, comfortable lens to have behind; It ' a lens with which I have quarreled a lot, the build quality is not excellent and even if the focus is continuous the ring makes it practically unusable in manual, too imprecise; At the optical output level is a modern and contrasted lens, apprezazabile sharpness at the center already in TA and excellent at 2.8-4 with a soft blurry and a nice bokeh; Unfortunately on dense sensors quai APS-C 24MPX suffers much of chromatic aberrations not always manageable in post production, moreover the AF tends to be inaccurate and it is not unusual to find specimens with back focus (better buy it again or with residual warranty, especially if from Use on entry level machine bodies such as series D3xxx and D5xxx where it is not possible to calibrate the lens in the machine and you are forced to send in service); The advice like lens all do and lens for portrait set on this format, less in the landscape where even if it does not suffer from flare the AC may be troublesome to treat.

Pros: AF, stabilizer, focal excursion

Cons: Plasticky, little bright, general yield

Opinion: You can't expect much from an APS-C kit lens, but the expense for this 18-105 on the new one is not irrelevant, especially when bought with Nital warranty; At the Csotruttivo level you will immediately notice a quality not lofty, more solid than the Nikon 18-55 but we are about them, especially the plastic bayonet mount is one of the most horrible things you can find on such a lens (the first esemblare had , for Contracolpo without crashing the machine has broken by rolling the lens itself on the ground); At the optical level the lens is dark and already starts from a fairly closed aperture so a T-stop darker than almost an env, also in TA tends to suffer a bit of AC Altera also on APS-C with less dense sensor, at the level of yield from the best wide-angle side from 18mm (where common Que vigentta a bit) up to 50mm to 5.6, then it should be closed at least F8 going up where it is already at limit with the difraction, while at the chromatic level the colors are good with the shadows but a little closed; The positive aspects of this lens are the AF quite fast and precise and the stabilizer that manages to recover 4 stops; It is a lens that I recommend on APS-C with non-particularly dense sensors (10-16mpx, on 24mpx If you do not have big claims) to those who start and want a zoom with a comfortable excursion from wide angle to portrait.

Opinion: is the only zoom lens bought years ago that I still have in the kit, taken to replace the Nikon Kit has always given me great shots; As the modern sigma tends to cool shades and to close the shadows, but in general F4 has a fairly constant yield on all the focal lengths and if well calibrated with the USB dock also resolves dense asp-C sensors such as 24MPX on the entire focal range without far Rimpia Ngere alternatives like the 17-50 except for the constant f 2.8 aperture; The AF is a bit slow and on the 39 points Nikon a bit inconstant, while the stabilizer works well recover 4 stops of light; It tends to vignette conspicuously at 17mm in TA but has a good hold against light with flare content and AC virtually nil on the entire focal excursion; The construction quality is good (even if made of plastic is very solid), imprecise the indication of the focus to infinity on the ring nut (even after calibration) and in the resting position towards down the barrel tends to lengthen; The blurry is slightly nervous and the bokeh does not excel, but in line with the zooms (see also 17-50 2.8) in circulation; It is also given as a macro but the working distance is little and the ratio of playback little; The advice on APS-C as zooms all do both for focals and global yields to be flanked by a possible fixed/I bright (eg a good 50 1.8), lens to use between F4-F 7.1 and to buy from the start with USB dock to perform the calibration of up on your body but Cchina.

Opinion: I state that it is a lens that I used on APS-C and probably on FF is more indicated; The first impression was of a lens plasticosa although well built, AF and stabilizer excellent, especially the stabilizer has recovered me almost 5 stops on 24MPX APS-C under different circumstances; On APS-C format at the yield level, the colors are poorly decided, the lens tends to burn the lights a bit, at TA at 70mm has obvious chromatic aberrations that go away by closing at 5.6, in principle is a lens to use on this format between 70-150mm between f 5.6-8 , above 150mm must be diaphragmed F9-F11 where the phenomenon of the difraction comes into play and the AF tends to have a slight back focus, however too dark for some shots; In the portrait has a bokeh and blurry passable, at 150mm at close distances from portrait tends to accorciarciarsi as focal to an equivalent credo on the 100mm; I recommend this lens to anyone who wants a tele zoom all make alternative to an 18-200mm and can't afford a 70-200 2.8 (which nonetheless is always preferable, better yet, especially in portrait, fixed and bright lenses).
