Opinion: I had taken it as equivalent 35 with DX and in the transition to FX and D800 I decided to resell it. It's not that the surrender was horrible: simply the resolve to the edges on FX has never convinced me, as well as the distortion in general. I replaced it with the 20 AFS, which, despite the differences of the case, is a completely different point. I have nothing to say for the rest: very nice colors, rapid autofocus. I think on FX machines with 24 mpx at most can still say its. I would have kept it willingly but it made no sense in my outfit, especially once I purchased the Sigma 24-35 too. I didn't regret selling it.

Pros: Light, compact, bright, well built. Useful in both dx and fx

Cons: A dated project, today for the best detail on the whole frame there are optics designed for digital (but also the expense and footprint will be significantly higher).

I've tried it on both D3 and D3X and the quality is the same, it does not even lose anything on the 24mpx of the D3X. Nitrite already at 2.8, closing the diaphragm becomes a blade. It delivers very beautiful and pasty colors, blur it badly, quickly af. My copy has no noticeable sharpness on the edges so marked as it reads around.
