Reviews of cameras, lenses, tripods, heads and other accessories written by Delio.vernacchia

sony_h400Sony H400

Pros: Optical zoom, viewfinder, file,

Cons: Very slow, iso tight,

Opinion: The Sony H400 It was among the first cameras I had I liked it for when I traveled for its compactness and I was still at the first work experiences and I did not have the right budget to be able to buy something pro and this machine was the perfect interlude for the needs of that moment. The focus was a bit slow and certainly suitable for landscapes. I do this review because if someone novice finds this bridge still somewhere knows that it is really good and the files are very good but certainly today with the machines in circulation is another planet. The viewfinder was really good for being a compact base having such a sharp electronic viewfinder was not for everyone. When used in landscaping it takes beautiful details. Zoom good but after half the stroke loses detail the image so the zoom should be used carefully. Iso tightness unfortunately bad to rise above 500 Iso becomes a problem because the loss of dynamic range is so much but still machine not to be underestimated.

nikon_d810Nikon D810

Pros: Sensor, robustness, file quality

Cons: Static camera, Iso seal

Opinion: I had bought the used D810 now resold for my needs. Shooting in situations with low light the camera behaves badly held Iso to absurd levels I hoped it could be a middle ground between 850 and 780 but I was wrong. The D810 is a slow camera sometimes in low contrast situations fails to find the focus correctly. The ISO seal and the same of the D700 up to 800/1000 behaves well and the files are really crazy with a nice sharpness even if precisely above 1600 Iso goes towards a deterioration. The positive aspects are precisely the dynamic range and sharpness, clarity and recovery of shadows, very workable Raw files perhaps even more than 850 really good for study, interiors and portraiture machine not to be underestimated if known well and used in the right environments without raising too much the ISO, using the focus in the right way will not disappoint you.

nikon_80-200_f2-8Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 AF (1987 version)

Pros: Quality, Colors, sharpness

Cons: Very slow and noisy Af

Opinion: Interesting lens, very sharp and bright!! But it suffers from time, in silent places to hear the noise of the focus of this 80-200 I find it a bit embarrassing, then in 2023 going to manual focus seems senseless to me given the technology we have. In my opinion the D series remains However the best quality price ever, if it were not for the old focusing system it would have been perfect! But of course we are talking about old but beautiful optics. Today, especially in the SLR world, there is a vast fleet of modern lenses not to be underestimated but I always prefer the G and D series remain the most engraved.

samyang_af14_f2-8canon_efSamyang AF 14mm f/2.8

Pros: General Quality, Flare Management, Sharpness, Colors,

Cons: Fire ring, Firmware update,

Opinion: The best fixed wide angle I have tried so far in my opinion underrated, better than the 14mm of the sigma. I use it to photograph interiors and I had a nice feedback with this Samyang tried also in other circumstances is very good. Needs firmware update otherwise it interacts poorly with the camera body. If updated it will never disappoint you. Excellent yield, colors and flare management manages to make the photos very authentic by bringing out the colors. The focus ring makes the same turn it is easy to change the focus by mistake, this lens was made for professionals, so who already knows all the mechanism of manual focus. It goes step by step thanks to the internal electronic engine once known it will be fun to use it. The autofocus is very fast and accurate among the best. Although on wide-angle I do not think speed is essential. Lightweight, suitable for a wide range of photos including night photographs. VOTE 10!

sigma_24-105osSigma 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM Art

Pros: Stabilization, quality at F/5.6

Cons: Colors a little cold, final rendering, focus wrapped inaccurate, not sharp on all focal lengths,

Opinion: Personally, I do not agree with the quality of this view described. To have the sharpness you have to close at F / 5.6 up to F13, it suffers from diffraction so it loses sharpness by closing the Aperture. At 24mm it is very sharp but from 35 to 50 it loses a lot to recover at 70mm and a strange lens and it must be understood. I do not consider it suitable for professional and dynamic environments However a very valid optic but not as described Will it be my specimen? obviously calibrated with the appropriate duck. Mounted on a D780, D750 and D850 I preferred the Tamron 35-150mm F/2.8-4. However this sigma deserves but I was hoping for something more. Even the colors seem too cold and tends to under expose the photos, it will be my specimen but nothing to do with the 24-70 much more beautiful as well as bright!

nikon_d3sNikon D3s

Pros: Image quality, High ISO sealing, Dynamic range, Reliability, Accuracy

Cons: Excessive weight and video compartment

Opinion: I found this machine in early January 2023 at a good price, taken by curiosity despite the old age of the car wanted to buy obviously used, unfortunately after three weeks resold because I did not want to take too many shots since it had so many but the real reason was precisely its weight too much for what I do because I travel a lot for work. Personally I still find it excellent today I took pictures of a friend of mine on the portrait was fantastic a reality and color fidelity truly unique perhaps modern sensors have made us get used to less original colors. You feel safe, absolutely a war machine... Even more resistant than the D5 Obviously in terms of performance we are far from the D5 D6 flagships. But the D3s deserves so much and then with its 12 megapixels you can also shoot at 1/80s and not see the blur in subjects in slight movement. Useless video sector but on such cameras is not needed. Beastly Iso seal does not seem to know what noise is, you only see the chromatic one by raising the Iso to the maximum. If it weren't for the weight I would have kept it forever.

nikon_d850Nikon D850

Pros: FAST AF, VIEWFINDER, COLOR GAMUT, RELIABILITY, SUPER PRO SLR,

Cons: FILES A LITTLE BIG, LIVE VIEW,

Opinion: In some jobs where they require photos in a short time it is not always possible to be quick because the files of the 850 are a bit high, there is the possibility to resize them in the settings while maintaining excellent quality. In my opinion there is no perfect camera but the right one that characterizes our way of photographing, the D850 is certainly a great choice indeed the best. I noticed shooting from live view wrapped loses a little of its potential, it would be better to use the viewfinder camera but these are small things. That said, the Nikon D850 is among the best SLRs especially with regard to focus and excellent file quality, also because it does not have the optical low-pass filter in fact the MTF tests show how the D850 has a unique detail and excellent quality. Too bad it is now out of production and is more easily used even if I recommend it new. Apart from small tricks this machine deserves so much, it should be used by professionals an amateur would not exploit it properly, obviously it is my opinion. The Nikon with this SLR closed an era precisely because the maximum has been reached in terms of performance. The D850 has been very well made to do everything. In particular, if you do advertising work, interiors or even graphics and study will never disappoint you, I dare to say that for this kind of work it is better than the Z9! We hope Nikon realizes the huge mistake it made in stopping producing these SUPER SLRs. VOTE 10!!

nikon_70-200_f4vrNikon AF-S 70-200mm f/4 G ED VR

Pros: VR, weight, overall quality,

Cons: Not received

Opinion: Great for sports or in any case situations where the F2.8 is not needed. I think it is among the best F4 for nikon, excellent quality especially when used with favorable light. Not for the aperture but for what concerns the contrast because with little light it loses a little bit in terms of micro contrast but nothing worrying in post production is resolved. Really sharp already at F4. It never disappointed me especially because at a fast AF. The current price is remarkably low compared to what it offers. I think it is now only in used but it is a very resistant optics, difficult to ruin it, very light. Last thing I see no difference between a 2.8 and this F4 because it has a great Bokeh, obviously and a little darker. But you will spend less to have a very similar quality... 10/10

nikon_d700Nikon D700

Pros: Tropicalization, robust, shutter, quality,

Cons: Autofocus a little slow, iso hold, weight,

Opinion: I tried this camera some time ago is really good but you could see the signs of age especially when you shoot over a thousand Iso if it is used in situations where you need high iso, instead using it in the studio or in any case in professional situations with good light the quality is Top. In fact, for me the real upgrade was with the D780. Shooting in Raw with the D700 the files were not always rich in information according to my needs, however already excellent quality it was enough to work it little and it would have been perfect This is because modern sensors contain Raw files with more information but need more processing and attention, however the 12mpx reduced the problem making this machine exceptional with a respectable quality indeed better than certain machines even modern mirrorless. I had recent post production programs so I could not open the file I had to use an old program and this is also one of the reasons why I decided to change it. Now I own D780 and D850 I also had the D750 the real transition was as already mentioned with the D780. The D700 will remain a very good machine, also because the shutter is infinite. Unfortunately, technology goes on!

nikon_z30Nikon Z30

Pros: Vlog, Responsiveness, Sharpness, Overall Quality

Cons: Lack of Viewfinder, optics, exposure

Opinion: I tested it for some videos for my youtube channel Delio Vernacchia. The excellent gimmick made especially for vlogs, however, we must adapt the right optics to fully exploit the considerable potential offered and the kit optics do not fully succeed in this intent also because this machine is very sensitive to the change of light and if the lens is not good the exposure may not be very correct, for a vlogher this thing should not be underestimated. In the end, spending something more, you will find optics like the 28-75 that look good. Obviously I am aware that it is not a professional camera, but for videos yes if known well. Perfect for youtube precisely because the files were made on purpose while the video cameras of the phone have a quality that youtube does not always show correctly. The found it excellent also with regard to the landscape photographic side and not only despite being an APS-C the truly optimal photographic quality even better than the Z6. What about a nice 9/10!

nikon_200-400vr_v2Nikon AF-S 200-400mm f/4 G ED VR II

Pros: Sharpness, blurry, great for wildlife, responsive AF

Cons: Weight, yield at 400mm

Opinion: I was very impressed by the exceptional quality between 200 and 300 really unique with an excellent Bokeh, I do not understand why already at 400 all this uniqueness disappears true that remains very sharp but loses a bit of engraving on long distances just keep it on 350 and the problem does not arise I personally found this thing immediately. The weight is felt should often be kept on a tripod combined with the D850 but not so much is enough to get used to it. Apart from these things it remains a Mr. Objective of unique quality with a very good affuoco mass, optimal for shed fauna. Rating 8/10.

nikon_70-200_f2-8e_flNikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR

Pros: All in particular the Sharpness and Contrast

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: There is not much to add on such a beautiful and interesting optics the buttons are very suitable for such a goal. It must be known for taking full advantage of the remarkable qualities. The blur is excellent soft at the right point, even better than fixed optics. The current price I consider right compared to what it offers from so many satisfactions to the professional who wants a good contrast and fire control. I think it's better than the 24-70 VR. However from F / 3.2 and even more engraved, it is not affected by diffraction, always excellent sharpness. On 850 he works as a god.

sigma_50_f1-4artSigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Pros: Stunning sharpness already at 1.4, The particular color rendering, contrast

Cons: Exaggerated weight for a 50, wrapped autofocus but in reality and a back focus problem

Opinion: Excellent lens for yield and quality. The high microcontrast, the out-of-focus fire transition zones are free from aberrations. The weight seemed too much to me especially when I carry the 24-70 and 70-200 with me. Many say that autofocus problems not to be confused with the front/back focus. Once calibrated well with the appropriate duck the problem does not exist. Confusion is often made between the two. The autofocus is very fast, it works very well. obviously the AF fine calibration must be done. The Sharpness is higher than the 35mm art. when I work in the evenings, in the premises this 50 does not detach from the camera body is really nice especially if mounted on dense sensors takes full advantage of the potential offered by an optics like this. Sigma with the art line has marked an era of optics still unsurpassed if known and exploited well. Of course I still recommend the purchase. If adapted they also work well on the mirrorless system even if sigma has made new optics.

nikon_afs24-70_f2-8vrNikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8 E ED VR

Pros: VR, AF speed

Cons: Final yield, Absurd vignetting

Opinion: In this period I am trying many optics I happened to this 24-70 VR. Given the price I expected moolto, much more. Apart from the vignetting that is almost impossible to correct and disappears if mounted on Aps-c. But I got to notice that the quality and colors compared to the NON VR version are less engraved even if very little and in any case the current price is still high compared to the final yield. We are talking about small things but in such a perspective I preferred something more. This does not mean that this lens is amazing with a faster and more responsive AF, the vr does its great job.

sigma_24-35_f2artSigma 24-35mm f/2.0 DG HSM Art

Pros: Sharpness, overall quality equal to fixed optics

Cons: F2 vignetting, slight distortion,

Opinion: Evident vignetting at TA correctable in post production, slight distortion at 24mm, already at 25mm disappears. Obviously you have to do the calibration. For the rest it is a wonderful optics. Perfect for wedding photography or various events. It is at its best from F/2.5 to F/11. The weight I do not see a problem the quality in this kind of lenses weighs but not so much. Many see the 35 as a limit in reality it is not. Because getting to 35 with this quality repays you in all respects I consider it much better than the various 24-70 on the market as regards sharpness not to mention the general quality of this lens between focal lengths 28 and 35 is Equal to fixed lenses or even better!

nikon_afs20_f1-8Nikon AF-S 20mm f/1.8 G ED

Pros: Weight, colors, flare

Cons: Sharpness, distortion among the worst I've seen.

Opinion: I can not understand all these positive reviews on sharpness I consider myself a professional of the trade. I did a lot of testing has everything except sharpness especially at the edges. The sharp photos made with this lens I had to post produce so much to achieve a nice sharpness or even I have to close to F11 to have the sharpness you need in a lens of this kind. The distortion present in this lens is unprecedented in Nikon fixtures. But it manages very well the counter light in this sense is the best for this reason it kept it because finding also beautiful colors and lights managed more than very well make it a good compromise. My rating of 6 out of 10. The sufficiency for its magnificent lightness and management of the lights. I recommend buying only for landscape use where the loss of sharpness is not noticeable.

sigma_40_f1-4artSigma 40mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Pros: Sharpness, overall quality, Af speed, edge rendering, great for landscapes

Cons: Weight too high for a 40mm

Opinion: To be a 40mm weighs too much, I find this thing absurd considering that it seems to hold a 135 in your hands. During an event or photo shoot it makes you want to use it. Compared to the 50mm as far as portraits are concerned, there is no difference. It changes with regard to the af, flare, landscapes and videos, obviously for this reason it is heavier precisely to give a higher quality to the images. Af is faster especially for events where there is a lot of movement. For landscapes and videos being very sharp at the edges from that effect of three-dimensionality taking better clouds or distant lateral subjects. then it manages the light very well. The blur is also better than the 50 1.4. Obviously very sharp as the whole art series. With much regret I had to sell it to give space to the 50mm because the weight of the 40 is not good especially when I wore so many optics behind and alone is not enough, Then too close to the 50mm for sharpness on the nearby distances is practically the same.

tamron_150-600vc_g2Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2

Pros: Tropicalization, weight, price

Cons: Soft to TA, sharpness after I 550mm,

Opinion: In a nutshell great for quality price If you travel a lot for photo hunting and you want a cheaper optics and also stay lighter is fine. Very Good to make some landscape at 150mm. It is not heavy there are optics much heavier than this 150-600mm. A little soft at full aperture especially at 600mm, closing between F7.1 and F10 is perfect, from F13 upwards it loses quality especially at the edges. Above 550mm it loses in terms of sharpness better not to go up to 600 if you are not really forced.

nikon_50_f1-4gNikon AF-S 50mm f/1.4 G

Pros: Very pleasant bokeh, weight, colors, brightness

Cons: Af, front/back focus in low light, not very good sharpness in low light,

Opinion: I tried both 1.8 and this 1.4. I liked the 1.8 more because it was already nitito at full aperture, this instead requires the closure up to F2.5 to get the most. But as for the portraits in terms of sharpness and rendering there are no big differences. As for course the brightness changes with a Diaphragm F1.4 enters more light even if closed at f2. But the interesting thing that transmits a very good light on the face of the photographed subject and consequently also the Bokeh is pleasant. For the rest as already mentioned it is slightly less sharp than the F1.8 so the price seems to me a bit high compared to what it offers.

nikon_50_f1-8gNikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G

Pros: Af, colors, sharpness, weight, good yield,

Cons: Given the price none

Opinion: I will try not to repeat the things that have already been said. This lens in addition to being light is very sharp fears comparison with the brighter but slightly less sharp F / 1.4. This F1.8 I find it already very sharp at full aperture, take into account that in the portrait you do not always need sharpness otherwise the defects of the face come out, a little softness is needed but still closing at F2 becomes perfect. Very nice also for landscape photos. Now I sold it to give space to the 50 1.4 sigma but it is more a whim to have greater brightness and three-dimensionality since I take pictures of night events. But this 50 1.8 deserves so much. Rating 10. Good Light to All.

tamron_24-70_f2-8vc_g2Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2

Pros: . . .

Cons: After a day it does not work, the optics can not be repaired, not even replaced because Tamron says it is Out of Production.

Opinion: Normally bought with polyphoto Italia warranty, after a few days L'af no longer worked, the store where I made the purchase sent it to assistance. However a big fall down by Tamron a thousand euro lens should not give such problems. Af that whistles very loudly and jammed, after a day it was a continuous worsening and not even apple have replaced. For the few photos I took the lens seemed very sharp with a slight loss of sharpness after 50mm. But I will be able to give a more accurate opinion when the lens comes back to me from Tamron because I was able to try it yes and no 2/3 days. UPDATE OF 6/04/22. The store where I had made the purchase made me the refund because the lens will not be repairable. I have always bought Tamron optics and after this event I was really very disappointed now I will think twice before buying Tamron material especially of this kind. HOWEVER, THOSE WHO MAKE POSITIVE REVIEWS ON THIS PERSPECTIVE ARE PROBABLY PAID BY TAMRON. EVERYONE I KNOW WHO HAS HAD THIS GOAL HAS A LOT OF PROBLEMS.

tamron_35-150vcTamron 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD

Pros: Sharpness, overall quality, versatility, colors, portrait-specific lens

Cons: Slow Af

Opinion: A truly one-of-a-kind optic, this portrait lens is superb. Although the focal range is very sharp already at full aperture, only at 35mm it would be better to close at F4 to achieve the same sharpness as the other focal lengths, I would consider it as a fixed F4 even better, it seems to be very bright. In the portraits it is almost unbeatable takes well the eye and the face of the subject, as soon as I saw the Bokeh / blurred I said wow ... It seems to have in your hands an F2.8, the detachment between the subject and the blurred and as a 24-70 2.8. By the way this 35-150mm I noticed is sharper and brighter between 85 and 135mm despite the F4 Aperture and the excursion. Not only is it very sharp but its great three-dimensionality and quality replaces a 70-200, this makes everything easier if you do not want to change lenses continuously and covers in all the focal lengths useful for the portrait. Using this lens in the studio, his abilities are fully exploited. unfortunately I do not recommend the purchase for wildlife or events where there is a lot of movement or sport because the focus is a little slow but it is normal to give more sharpness you had to give up something, but it deserves all the money spent. I recommend buying in the used.

nikon_d500Nikon D500

Pros: Burst, smoke point, viewfinder, plunge speed

Cons: incomplete touch screen, battery life, image quality, iso seal from 4000 if you use good cards and good optics otherwise above 2000 iso

Opinion: This car has always given me pleasant excursions without ever having missed a shot, when the subject does not give up. I use it only for photographic hunting, in fact I appreciated the power of the autofocus, It immediately catches the subject even if it is located in the branches of the trees. I use it with a 200-500mm F5.6E, even with a 300mm F4D, in my opinion the machine is spectacular. It transmits colors to unique images. speaking of "negative" aspects if they can be defined as such, in my opinion the quality of the image compared to the advance of mirrorles is low on certain occasions. But it remains and will always remain a gem, this machine for wildlife does not fight even today. the iso seal I personally find it good enough to be an APS-C reaches up to 2000 iso without problems and if you use good cards and optics it goes even higher, then if known well the D500 gives beautiful photos always. It's simply a demanding machine all here. the points of mass affuoco are nothing short of perfect, really good to manage. Absolutely still recommended even if out of production but in the used you can find it!!!

nikon_z28-75_f2-8Nikon Z 28-75mm f/2.8

Pros: Sharpness, weight,

Cons: Being an "amateur" optics, given the price in my opinion not too high I would say no one

Opinion: Tested on z6, I find very valid this lens is bright, sharpness already at full aperture, although not comparable to the 24-70 or fixed optics. Given the lightness and versatility that distinguishes it, I recommend it for those like me who travel a lot and do not want to carry many optics with them. Despite still having a lower focal length than the 24-70 but those extra 5mm make the difference when shooting with greater distance. I tested it a bit and I would not recommend it to a professional, let's say that the 24-70 is unsurpassed, sharper in my opinion. But anyway this 28-75 will question many other optics.

Pros: File quality, Iso sealing, video,

Cons: Af of the machine to be improved, LCD,

Opinion: I still own SLR but for work I happened to use mirrorless nikon, I feel I have to express a judgment on this Z6 I would say negative I tried this machine for just over a month or so. The Z6ii is still very good for making the first switch to mirrorless. I find the af not very responsive you often have to set to find the most suitable focus mode at the moment, so not recommended for photographs of fauna, In my opinion there are several shortcomings, so the price does not justify the transition from Z6 to Z6ii ... Among other things I found the z6 better from some points of view than the z6ii seems strange but I immediately found this. LCD really basic and not in step with the times. Basically if you want to make a really effective passage I recommend the z7ii or the new Z9.

Pros: Sharpness, overall quality

Cons: Af a bit slow on some camera bodies

Opinion: I have now owned it for a year, I consider it really valid especially for goat fauna and sports. The stabilization is very good, despite the weight you can also shoot freehand. Very good sharpness then mounted on a machine like the D500 becomes a bomb capable of giving incredible shots but above all it goes very well with the needs that the D500 possesses. Using this lens on some machines L'af becomes slower such as on D800 or D810. I don't always use multipliers because I've noticed that it loses quality. The price may seem high but to be a 200-500mm also costs relatively little. The weight is there but it is normal. Sharp already at full aperture, during zoom, it does not lose sharpness, at 500mm you work better by closing at f6.3. Obviously using it at F8 you get the best depth of field for this kind of zoom. I recommend it to both a pro and an amateur, I think this is a perspective that could also be used in professional sports and non-sports fields.

nikon_d750Nikon D750

Pros: Iso seal, rows, ergonomics, dynamic range, general quality,

Cons: Focus points, uncertain live view is slow, video quality good but not excellent,

Opinion: Even today I consider it a very valid machine is performing, I have owned it for two and a half years now, I almost never disappointed, even in difficult light conditions the best of itself has always been good, it can be good for both a pro and an amateur. Tenuta Iso really good, up to 6400 Iso you can still work in post, also because it has a really unique Raw file of great quality and without any processing problem, to be of 2014 still today I consider it the all-rounder par excellence, True that has had many references and problems related to exposure and light, But now you no longer run any problem and in the used is found has good price. The affuoco mass points may seem concentrated in the center and cause problems, but you simply have to learn to set everything well and there is no problem. Excellent customization possibilities with U1 U2. Live view a little uncertain especially in low light and even videos are not its forte, but for this there is the D780. I recommend it for those who want to enter the full frame world and also for those who approach the world of professional photography and in any case do not want to switch to the new mirrorless world. By now I think that it is found only in the used, but so much the prices compared to the exceptional quality of the machine are now excellent and you also have a vast optical park available.

sigma_35_f1-4Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Pros: Color rendering, color, unbeatable sharpness,

Cons: Affuoco mass not always very fast, Front/Back focus problems

Opinion: Those who buy this lens must be aware that it is necessary to do the fine af calibration, even if you do not notice problems, because the art are slow that require it in a way we say "mandatory". I use this lens on D750 and D780, it had also happened on D500. Optics really very sharp and the progenitor of the line art. The thing that I find really interesting about this lens is the ability to return a three-dimensionality and really amazing colors, even in bad light conditions. The affuoco mass sometimes in more difficult conditions is difficult and as I told you the back focus problems are almost always present, I solved with the fine af adjustment on the machine, I assure you that it took 5 months. The art is warmer and more dramatic and the Nikon more neutral, just look at the gallery below and compare it with those of the fixed Nikkor to understand the considerable difference. I had the impression that the Sigma Art is much sharper than the Nikon 35 or comparable. The particular color rendering typical of the art and the high microcontrast, the transition zones out of focus are free from aberrations. Excellent lens also for weddings!!

Pros: Sharpness Already at full aperture, quality, hood

Cons: Nobody, maybe and I say maybe the lack of VR

Opinion: Fixed lens really very sharp, perhaps too much, but always gives really good photographic moments and in all areas. It also tested on the Z system with the adapter works really well, then with the stabilizer on the sensor puts a patch to the only defect that can be found. I find the snap hood very comfortable. I consider it an unbeatable lens in the value for money on today's used, also considering the fact that it has a very efficient internal casting motor, therefore also excellent for moving fauna. The design of this lens is dated but does not mean anything. It remains and will always remain a really good lens, even if it mounts on modern and future cameras. I absolutely recommend it.

nikon_70-200vr_f2-8_v2Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 G ED VR II

Pros: A great lens throughout and with unique sharpness

Cons: For now none

Opinion: A very interesting lens, despite a bit "old" But not rivals even in 2022. I tried the Tamron 70-200 G2 sincerely not apple I feel to make a comparison the colors that returns the G2 are absolutely too cold and difficult to fix in post, even with a nikon D780. In my opinion By now we are getting used to the colors of tamron and we do not realize that the photos shared around no longer have color but seem too artificial, this is because more and more third-party optics are used and the post is no longer the same because unable to obtain a certain color that the nikon or Canon etc instead have well outlined. When I read that the Tamron G2 is better I am really amazed. Then another thing the Tamron G2 uses an innovative system si Beautiful but very delicate that can be ruined over time and consequently the sharpness maybe is no longer the same and with the passage of time can be affected, the nikon on this are reliable and durable obviously also canon etc. Then if you are looking for something more, then the NIKON FL is for you, but unfortunately I find it excessive, especially for the price too high. Returning to vr2 I do not consider it heavy, let's remember that a 2.8 and the quality usually weighs, then if considered that I also use the Nikon 200-500mm F5.6 for work that much heavier so it is all subjective. Really good stabilization works wonders. Obviously my vote is 10/10. Good Light to all!

tamron_15-30_f2-8g2Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2

Pros: Sharpness even at the edges, autofocus, colors

Cons: Weight and bulk, but if you want quality you have to adapt

Opinion: Many do not say it but compared to the first version there have been great improvements, first of all the autofocus much faster and more precise, but the thing that I considered most important is the almost absence of flares manages the backlight much better. I also noticed that it greatly improves the yield and sharpness. Vignetting almost absent only in difficult situations of central light can be glimpsed slightly. when you use it gives the feeling of robustness and solidity, this lens found it complete, most likely among the best wide angles. I also tried the Nikon 14-24, I find this tamron 15-30 F/2.8 G2 even better than the Nikon and I told you everything. Rating 10/10.

nikon_12-24dxNikon AF-S DX 12-24mm f/4 G ED

Pros: Constant opening, construction, against light, absent vignetting

Cons: Distortion, sharpness at the edges

Opinion: In my opinion a really beautiful DX lens, too bad that it is not widely used and that it is only for DX cameras. The perfect wide angle for APS-C many use the tokina 11-16, or the 10-24 etc on DX. But guys this 12-24 is much better, you can find it in used at very good prices. Being out of production, new is not easier to find, in the used yes. Distortion and loss of sharpness at the edges are normal in wide angles. Backlight and vignetting managed very well.

nikon_d5300Nikon D5300

Pros: Display, perfect to start photographing, menu, sensor, quality, battery life

Cons: Limited in videos, self-timers,

Opinion: I consider it an entry level, for me it was I started photographing with this camera was fantastic, brings out very sharp photos helped me in understanding many things. The tilting display I consider very useful, the sensor of this 24.3 megapixel machine transmits very good colors, obviously not comparable to the D500. To be a 2013 APS-C it had a very good Iso seal, almost like the recent APS-Cs. Easy and intuitive menu. The auto shot I did not use it because every time it was deactivated, when it was on the tripod I had to remember to reactivate every time The auto shot. Videos are not her forte but for these things I call it an entry level because you start gradually and in any case you bring home very beautiful shots.

nikon_24-120vr_f4Nikon AF-S 24-120mm f/4 G ED VR

Pros: For the type of lens, despite the focal range, excellent in almost everything

Cons: Distortions, vignetting

Opinion: I have owned it for two years now, it has been a reliable travel companion, it still is. If known well this lens takes you home great shots. At 120mm the image is rather soft especially at TA, obvious vignetting, at 24 in addition to vignetting there is a little distortion, just stop at 100 and it's fine, at 24 just get to 35 already it's better. This lens takes home the photo of the moment without even too much work in post. It is an F4 on all focal lengths, although you have to diaphragm while using the zoom to have a greater depth of field and maintain sharpness. Lenses with this focal range may have this problem.

nikon_24-85vrNikon AF-S 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 G ED VR

Pros: Lightweight, sharp, stabilization

Cons: Tropicalization and hood

Opinion: Very interesting lens I used it for a review and kept it for a year. In my hand it looks like a feather I carried apple tree with me when I went out with the 200-500mm and in case I wanted to do some landscape or portrait I used it despite obviously not a 2.8 but to travel lighter apple I carried. It has a superb sharpness and is difficult to match in zooms of this type. I noticed that a lot of dust enters inside, this lens would have really needed tropicalization. I had to replace the hood because it was ridiculous too small like not having it on. Being a light and small lens the Stabilizer worked wonders, I managed to shoot without a tripod up to 1/6s. I absolutely recommend it for those who want to travel light and still fill the Classic focal range.

nikon_24-70g_f2-8Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8 G ED

Pros: Sharpness, Colors, excellent quality

Cons: Zoom chiera, weight

Opinion: Really very sharp lens even at 2.8 I made some fantastic close-ups. I bought the 24-70 Without VR because I think that such a sharp lens already at 2.8 so bright does not need stabilization, because the shutter speeds will always remain relatively high, in fact I did not regret the purchase. The zoom chiera is very delicate, you have to treat it with care, but nothing serious. The only thing that in my opinion can be a problem on certain occasions and the weight, in fact I do not consider it a travel lens. But in portraiture, landscaping, even in night photos I consider it excellent. absolutely recommended!

nikon_afs300_f4pfNikon AF-S 300mm f/4 E PF ED VR

Pros: Weight, Minimum distance, AF

Cons: price, distortion, chromatic aberrations

Opinion: I had this lens several months, to make a Review... I could see that apart from lightness I do not see great merits. Good sharpness that in low light conditions is lost. Now I own the 200-500mm F5.6, I consider it a great zoom and sharper than the 300 PF in question. The price of this lens for what it offers seems excessive to me. I also noticed that on some occasions it did not handle the colors very well and suffers from the side light I had to always keep a -0.7 in the car but it depends on which bodies it is mounted on if used on sensors with a few megapixels it works correctly. I think that's the price to pay if you want a light optics like this. In the photos there was almost always distortion and chromatic aberrations that could be corrected without problems in Post Production. It has a minimum focusing distance of 1.4 you can get very close to the subjects, obviously it is not a macro if you want to use it for this fact, then I recommend more with a focusing distance of at least 1.2. Af fast but not a missile also in this case I saw better. If you want to buy a 300mm I can recommend the old 300 or the 300mm F4D ED.

tamron_100-400vc_usdTamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD

Pros: Sharpness, weight, excursion and blurry

Cons: Given the price none

Opinion: In my opinion it is worth more than it costs. The sharpness is equal to a fixed with the difference that you go from 100 to 400 on all focal lengths does not lose anything. Handy, I use it when I want to travel light as a replacement for the Nikon 200-500 in my opinion less sharp. I mount it on both D500 and D750 very sharp on both. I find it much better even than the 300 PF. Slightly dark but actually a little and then being of good quality in post production you can increase the brightness without losing details. The color Tends slightly to magenta but shooting in raw then with the post you fix everything easily. Also perfect for making some portraits at 100mm and F / 4.5 the close-ups amazed me with an excellent detachment between the subject and the blurred and even in the macro field I was satisfied by having a good minimum focusing distance it manages to get very close with very good results. The three-foot ring do not give it supplied but I find it useless as it shoots very well without. I absolutely recommend it!!
