Pros: Sharpness, colors, very large distortion, brightness

Cons: Coma at the edges (is certainly not among the worst, i default CROPPO all photos of stars because who more who less than coma suffer all lenses and I can not suffer), not tropicalized

Opinion: One of my favorite lenses. Architecture, night shots, panoramas are the uses to which I submit more. Sharp while retaining a character, not aseptic. I love her. 20mm for some uses in architecture is too long as focal, it would be better 16mm, but I preferred the rendition of this lens to a shorter focal, I arrange as I can. Ad f 1.8 is a bit softer at the edges, but it remains acceptable and above all just close to F2-2.8 to see already a rendition of fear. Vignette so much at the maximum aperture, but it may not be bad and it corrects in a click or directly in the room. Very fast and reliable AF (not that it is a necessity with this type of lens, but can please)

Pros: Weight, diaphragm

Cons: Price, construction a bit plasticose (but it is used to limit its weight)

Opinion: I was undecided between the Sigma 1.4 and the Nikon 1.8 as it is a lens that I do not use much (I do not do landscapes) I preferred at least for once save me the weight, by tending that the more you go to the pushed wide angle (24----> 20-----> 16-----> 14 etc) less you notice the D Difference between open aperture as 1.4 and 1.8 (for street use or portraiture) the cost in my opinion is a bit ' altino as for all Nikon optics, but the quality and good. If I had accepted the weight of the Sigma I think I would have taken that, having already the 35 1.4 art, are the Ferrari of optics.

Pros: General yield, maximum aperture at f/1.8, lightness, sharpness, colour rendition, distortion contained, no phantom effects and flare in backlight.

Cons: No one is detecting, perhaps the size (measures twice the other 20 mm).

Opinion: Optics not inevitable in a full format kit. Before Sigma launched the 20 1.4 Art this lens was unbeatable. Excellent on all fronts, very wide maximum aperture (the previous Nikon was f/2.8), general rendering of the images very nice; Known in the development of raw color nuances very subtle that other lenses can not capture. Wanting to churn out well-contraated images already at full aperture with a remarkable definition of details. It communicates with the autofocus of the machine in an egregious way, I have never had a problem of focusing, even with low light. The distortion is almost absent for a 20 mm, certainly is very well corrected compared to the previous lenses. About the size I hear it's compact.... My opinion is that you can say that it is light but compact I would not say: it is long (and wide) almost twice as much as a 20 AfD (although it must be borne in mind that the 1.8 lenses are necessarily wider than those of a 2.8 lens). I use it when the Sigma 24-35 art is not wide enough or when I want to go out only with fixed: it really is a pleasure to use. For me the vote is 10 and praise, no regrets in the purchase and so much quality of the images.

Pros: Low weight, compactness, sharpness, angle of field.

Cons: Not having it

Opinion: I have long observed this lens following several forums before, and trying out the specimen of a friend later.. And as a lover of this this focal, I didn't want to get attacked by the monkey buying something that I could still obtain in the range of my Nikkor 14-24 G 2.8. But if you happen to be walking a lot, or hiking a certain difficulty, or if you just want to bring some glass on the plane for a trip abroad, you can not avoid buying the "jewel" in question! Yes, because it is a lens of great precision, with a fabulous detail and a yield that has nothing to envy to my (very heavy and delicate) 14-24. Sure, you lose the comfort of the zoom, but carry around a lens that virtually "does not weigh and occupies no space" is something fantastic! I recommend it to all lovers of wide angles and astrophotography, for the great quality of the lenses and for the results that is able to churt out (even on the hyperdense sensor of D850), but especially for the reduced weight that is priceless! Good light to all

Pros: compactness, weight, sharpness, brightness, aesthetics, screw filters... etc...

Cons: Not stabilized nor (seriously) sealed

Opinion: A fixed of this focal I think is not very usual and yet has its why. It will not be built with "premium" materials but it is sufficiently solid as well as aesthetically pleasing, with a good lens hood and light almost not to be heard despite the great luminosity. Strong point, a bit like all fixed, sharpness. Comfortable the possibility of mounting screw filters (I would say a rarity on wide) and beautiful colors for excellent photos of landscape. The stabilizer would also give a hand on these focal lengths since, Freehand, at some point the blur comes. Nice on APS-C because it becomes a 30mm to be used even more frequently. It is not sealed except for a gasket on the bayonet. In any way not bad...
