Pros: All

Cons: Nothing.. if we want to say one the plastic construction

Opinion: Stratospheric lens, has no rivals in its category perhaps of those had beats it in quality and cleanliness of the image the nikon 105 f1.4 certainly does not cost little but is worth them all .. I changed it with the nikon 70-200 vr2, from the reviews more or less gave it at par but I just needed a few shots seen from the monitor in my SLR to see the considerable difference on sharpness and blurred, also put the reduced weight and ends up directly in the backpack without even being to do math XD maybe a step back compared to its predecessor is in the plastic construction rather than metal but if you want to travel in lightness you have to accept the compromise. Rating 10

Pros: fast, sharp, effective VR

Cons: not having it

Opinion: an optics that you can not do without, versatile, precise, fast and VR improved compared to the previous version. The optical quality is almost indistinguishable from prime lenses and the blurred conquers you immediately, but this was also a prerogative of the previous version. What I find instead to understand and become familiar with it is the choice to reverse the rings, however, very soft in use, to such an extent that you have to be very careful not to accidentally touch them. If used on professional bodies everything is well balanced, less on entry level bodies, on the build quality perhaps Nikon made half a step back, I still hope, and in any case, not to have to test its robustness. However, summing up I would like to say that its cost perhaps does not fully justify the desire of many to replace it with the previous version, it being understood that in a professional photographic kit can not miss.

Pros: Speed, sharpness, pretty much everything

Cons: Nothing, maybe the undocking of the bracket

Opinion: I don't have much to say... I think that's a very good goal. Handy, crisp and fast are the qualities I appreciate the most, with the D850 it is a spectacular pairing. The only little mole for me, it is the bracket that unhooks and does not have a safety, unfortunately I had the shoulder strap attached to that bracket and it dropped causing D850 to fall more objective to the ground.... luckily only the lampshon was damaged.... apart from this little detail, but maybe more of my mistake, I still give 10+ to this great goal

Pros: AF speed, lightness, excellent resaleability

Cons: structure dangerously similar to the plastic structure of the 24-70 VR, buttons

Opinion: Good AF speed (but not higher than VR2), excellent VR, excellent optical performance but I can honestly say, having owned them at the same time, that such performance – VR aside – is absolutely INDISTINGUISHABLE from those of VR2. And I say this in the face of several double-blind sessions performed with two different groups here in Rome. Those who describe different performances between the two have not had them together at the same time, that is, they have problems with visus, or they have to justify to themselves a compulsive purchase, or even is a fanatical Taliban of the brand. PRO optics are those that resist the stresses of working activity allow the professional to take home photos to earn the loaf of loaf and this is absolutely not the case. The VR2 was externally constructed of magnesium alloy and was clearly seen while the FL resembles a plastic, that solidity is a distant memory, the only part that in my eyes appears solid is the bracket that also this time seems to ignore that there is the Arca Swiss attack. The buttons on such a short focal lens are absolutely useless to me. Always the Taliban of the brand like to point out that the breathing focus has been eliminated: nothing could be more false, the FB is still there although very small. But the FB of the VR2 was absolutely not a fault, it was part of the project specifications and allowed you to shoot even inside cramped spaces, such as a small room... Therefore, if you take every emphasis, those who today consider buying the FL still buy an excellent SEMI PRO optics that, if they do not take a few bottarella on the barrel (the de-financing of the lenses on the plasticons of a certain length is always around the corner) will give nice satisfactions. It will give so to speak, given the cost of the official product. NB: I now have it and I keep it, I am all in all satisfied, I took off the VR2 before it fell in price but, I repeat, on the dense sensor of the 850 the performance is absolutely similar ...

Pros: Resolution and sharpness, very fast in focus, excellent color rendering. Excellent keeping of the price of the used. (Price to new European import with Italian guarantee much cheaper than the official importer.)

Cons: Nothing particular. It is initially necessary to become familiar with the inverted dials; also not to move them accidentally being very soft.

Opinion: Before buying it, about four months ago, I considered the previous VR version, the Tamron g2 and the Sigma Sport. With everyone, courtesy of a shop in my town, I took a few test shots. In the end I decided for the Nikkor FL. If you have to drown, you might as well do it in the sea!! It is not secondary to switch ALL metadata, including fixes, to PS. Not only do technical tests place it on top of all the others, including Sony G Master, but also in concrete use it has proven unbeatable. Only in some cases, by direct comparison, has it proved to be no less or equal. Stunning chromatic yield. Generally mind-blowing focus speed; it is very difficult to get him into difficulty, (but not impossible). VR does its job well. Of course, like all zooms, you can't compare it to the quality of a fixed optics, but the lack makes it feel only on rare and particular occasions.
