![]() | Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, AF/speed, focal length, construction, materials used Cons: Weight, Dimensions*, Huge Lens Hood, Filter Diameter Opinion: Focal length that I prefer over the 85mm and 135mm (although I will miss both). Bokeh that detaches the planes in an absurd way! Really soft and creamy! Lightning-fast AF!! Sharpness of course is already magnificent at TA, and if you close it becomes extremely sharp. Weight and size are the weak points, but you know how it works with ARTs; More than the length is the width. Fitting the filter is a must given the huge front glass but it comes at a cost. The lens hood is really big and chunky. The use of the lens is limited by weight and size! The only alternative I know (for Canon) is the 100mm f2, alas sent on February 09, 2024 |
![]() | Sigma 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: Sharpness, AF, Brightness, Construction/Solidity, Compact, Bokeh Cons: Large lens hood, weight Opinion: Taken as an alternative to the usual 35mm and to detach myself more from the 50mm. Really good AF and sharpness! Slightly bulky lens hood. 77m filter not too expensive. Good weight/size ratio but if it had been slimmer it would have been better (but you know how it works with Art). Great bokeh, despite being a 28mm! It costs relatively little based on what it offers. sent on February 09, 2024 |
![]() | Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro Pros: Sharpness, IS, Good AF*, Solid Construction, Filter Diameter, Rings & Selectors, Focal Length Cons: AF* good but not for sports/birds, bulky lens hood Opinion: Taken to have both a decent macro and a portrait telephoto all in one optic, wonderful purchase! The sharpness is very good already at TA (not a blade but it surprised me), the used price is quite good, the construction is solid (it has its weight but not excessive), dials and selectors are not plasticized, AF very good for subjects not too fast but not recommended for SPORT/AVIFAUNA, slightly bulky lens hood, excellent for both macro and portraits. It's multipliable! sent on February 09, 2024 |
![]() | Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM Pros: price, flare resistance, AF, colors, overall sharpness, dimensions, weight Cons: sharpness at the extreme edges at TA, slight distortion and vignetting but all solvable with correction on LR Opinion: Bought for interior photos and for travel lens gave me a lot of joy. Paid very little, they practically sell it off. It has excellent flare resistance that I can leave the hood at home (it is also bulky). It has compact dimensions and weighs very little. Beautiful colors and fast in the pursuit of people. The sharpness in the center and middle center is very good even at TA, the extreme edges instead must be recovered by closing at least at f8. The distortion and vignetting don't bother me because I fix them on LR. sent on March 30, 2023 |
![]() | Canon RF 50mm f/1.2 L USM Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, speed, colors, programmable bezel, MAF distance selector, flare resistance, low vignetting Cons: Price and Weight, of course; Hood a bit bulky Opinion: Taken only because it was a good opportunity, otherwise I would have stayed with the old EF 50mm f1.2. Oh, and because there's no RF 50mm f1.4 yet and the RF 50mm f1.8 isn't really the best. That said, it excels in everything: the sharpness is already high at TA, the bokeh is creamy more than a pudding, it is fast with moving subjects, it has L-series colors, the programmable ring is very useful and versatile, the MAF distance selector helps a lot, the flare resistance is really very good and makes me leave the hood at home which is a bit too large, the vignetting is very contained both at TA and at closed diaphragms. I like that the lens retracts and does not always remain uncovered so as to avoid bumps with edges. sent on March 23, 2023 |
![]() | Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Pros: Lightness, focal range, sharpness (hobby), fast enough, stabilized Cons: Sharpness (work), darkness (apertures) Opinion: Taken to try it during my travels but after I took back the 17-40 f4 L I resold it, but only for obvious reasons of focal otherwise it would have remained with me given the cost, lightness, stabilization and sharpness that for the photos of my travels is more than fine; I remain of the idea that if I have to travel for fun and relaxation I do not want to weigh down the journey. Used once for work and NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT. For the reasons listed above, namely that it is dark, not very sharp and I do not trust a priori. sent on March 23, 2023 |
![]() | Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM II Pros: Sharpness, colors, ergonomics, robustness, speed, bokeh Cons: Plastic hood, high price, unobtainable used Opinion: Lens with really good features especially for professional use. Excellent sharpness and a soft bokeh. I also use this lens to make macros (rings) preferring it to the canvases I have in my backpack (85/135). It is fast and quiet. The only flaw is that the hood seems to be a number one chinoiserie! The weight is not a cons, the price maybe yes but now it is much less. I would replace it only with the RF version that I hope will come out soon maybe more macro and IS sent on March 02, 2023 |
![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM Pros: Brightness, bokeh, speed, weight, size, construction, colors, sharpness* Cons: Sharpness abb good, if you are looking for excellence then RF 50 1.2 Opinion: The lens in question has many advantages including the enviable brightness, a really soft and creamy bokeh reminiscent of the 85 1.2, fast for any moving subject and silent. It has very small weight and dimensions (including hoods), it seems almost pocket-sized even with EF-RF adapter. The construction is L-series, it doesn't rain! It has beautiful colors and in terms of sharpness I must say that I expected worse given the graphs but I can only be satisfied!!! sent on October 25, 2022 |
![]() | Canon EF 85mm f/1.4 L IS USM Pros: Sharpness, blur, speed, stabilizer, weight, bulk, hood, construction and so on. Cons: NOTHING! Opinion: As I wrote above it has an excellent sharpness already at TA (otherwise I would have taken an f2.8), at f2 great for group photos. The blur is not as magical as the 1.2 but it is very creamy cmq, more than the sigma 85 f1.4 Art. It's really very fast, more than the big brother 1,2. It has the stabilizer so it makes it the best in class. It weighs less than all the other 85mm bright so it is an advantage. The dimensions (including hood) are the best I have tried and the weight is well distributed. The hood is small and solid, not like the other 85mm in circulation. It is built very well and the robustness is felt in the hand, already at the first touch. The price of the new is slightly high and the used is hard to find, the only cons.. sent on October 25, 2022 |
![]() | Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: Sharpness, speed, brightness, construction, price Cons: Weight, dimensions, hood Opinion: An optics that in terms of sharpness and speed is at stellar levels but that on the other hand has weight and dimensions to be taken into account if you use it for several hours (weddings, long sessions, etc.). Mounted on the R it becomes even longer. Huge hood but solid and in line with the optics. Also great for sports. It is found used at a low price so a shame not to have it. sent on October 25, 2022 |
![]() | Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM Pros: Brightness, bokeh, colors, sharpness* Cons: Speed, sharpness*, hood Opinion: Pure love optics, a blurred and WOW colors, maybe the RF 1.2 can surpass it. In addition, it is bright and therefore allows you to photograph in extremely dark conditions. The sharpness is very good but not at the levels of 1.4 L IS and Sigma 1.4 Art (if you choose it, you certainly do not think about this). It weighs like any bright 85mm. The hood is slightly large. The dimensions are normal. I wouldn't use it to chase pheasants, that's it! sent on October 25, 2022 |
![]() | Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM Pros: Small, light, sharp*, price Cons: Noisy STM, nervous bokeh, lacks hood, blurry edge Opinion: I had this lens for a short time and I must say that it is a best buy, It is small and read it, it has a very low cost, it is robust and you store it everywhere. The sharpness in the center is really very good, but if you also want it on the sides you have to close at least at f4. the STM is fast but not as fast as a USM, and it's a bit noisy. However, it is still an excellent optic!!! sent on October 25, 2022 |
![]() | Canon EF 135mm f/2.0 L USM Pros: Sharpness already at f2, compactness, weight, speed Cons: Without hood it suffers a little, no IS Opinion: Taken after years that I admired it and it was love at first sight. It has a sharpness already at TA and does not disfigure on the 30mpx of the R. Without a hood and with the sun, it needs the hood. CA I never noticed. I also use it in the closed diaphragm studio with extension tubes for macros (with 0.9m you don't do so much) and I feel good about it (avoiding having an additional lens for macros). The lack of IS sometimes makes itself felt but you can't ask for everything. Then now the price is very advantageous compared to the Sigma 135 which weighs twice as much and costs twice as much! I would only change it for a future RF 135 f2 IS macro. A dream! sent on January 04, 2022 |
![]() | Canon EOS R Pros: Ergonomics, mpx, dynamic range, AF, battery, screen, weight, touch bar, MF zebraling, zero F/B focus sigma optics Cons: single slot Opinion: First mirrorless after years of reflex and I found myself very well. It has ergonomics, weight and size that goes well with my hand. The touch bar, contrary to what is said around, I find it very practical if well set; perhaps too close to the other commands. The AF stunned me and continues to give me great shots with very few mistakes (obviously when I dare too much). I appreciated that the battery was the same as the 5D so that the old batteries were also used. I think the resolution is excellent, not too much to strain downloads and processing, not too little for printing billboards and large prints. The only drawback is obviously the single slot that as far as wedding shots are concerned it is a security to have 2. But when I worked for provincial and regional newspapers I used a 5Dmk1 and never a mistake. Using TS optics and manuals often and willingly (fisheye for example) I loved zebraling for focus. I don't regret the old SLRs other than the optical viewfinder. sent on November 09, 2020 |
![]() | Canon EOS RP Pros: Image quality, weight, size, canon menu, command arrangement Cons: battery*, screen* Opinion: I bought it as a second body for work and as a travel camera for walking, traveling and so on. It is small and light, with a very curious and attractive ergonomics. It's in the backpack and even if the little finger comes out of the handle, it doesn't bother. I like the image quality and I can work on it with serenity. The screen* is slightly less than R, too bad. The battery obviously lasts less than the R, it is less capacious but I have 2 and I have the battery pack, olè! The AF is very good although I guess it's not at the level of R5 or R6. Video side.. I never make videos. sent on November 07, 2020 |
![]() | Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8 Pros: brightness, focus distance, optical quality already at TA, compactness, weight, current despite the years, price (to date) Cons: Nothing Opinion: An optics that I have used for years in the various studios in which I have worked. Optics that for the world of still life is essential together with a macro. I say this because despite pushing so close it is not suitable for macro thrusts, but it is right that it should be so. Perhaps for densest sensors the L version would be more suitable but with 30mpx it defends well. The price is very advantageous especially in the used. you can find it for a few hundred €. It must be said that it is not an easy optics to use and handle, it serves technique, the idea already in the lead but above all patience. With the latest mirrorless the focus is a blast;) With the old 1Ds MK2 you would look... sent on October 15, 2020 |
![]() | Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: Sharpness (below, however, of 35 ART), construction, bokeh, AF (...), Cons: Not tropicalized, requires F / B calibration with Dock Opinion: I claim that I was the owner of a 35 Art and that the sharpness was another pair of sleeves, not that this is not the one but the other has more. The PRO's of this 24 Art are the ones that combine the whole series of creamy bokeh, great optic construction, very solid, sharpness already in TA. The CONTRO, on the other hand, is the non-tropicalization that in critical conditions I would have preferred and the F / B Focus. Having tried more than one and several focal points I say (for me but also others) to calibrate the optics with the Dock, just so you will not have F / B Focus and the AF will not beat a shot .. Obviously some error will do so if you pretend to focus 1 point in the middle of 10 neighbors of different distances at 10mt distance and f1.4. It's a bright wide-angle! sent on October 10, 2017 |
![]() | Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM Pros: Construction, sharpness already at f2.8, speed and precision MAF, creamy bokeh Cons: Nobody Opinion: More than I would call it Warranty. It is very well constructed and with a tactile feedback of solidity and robustness. The rings are wide enough. The weight I find suitable for the construction of the optic, the f4 is too small and light. The AF is fast and accurate, not a comma of a comma except for human error. The pursuit with 5D3 is spectacular. The backlight also works well, even af ??2.8. If I said that the opposite is the lack of IS I would have got the IS version so for what's great. sent on October 01, 2017 |
![]() | Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, construction, value for money, AF Cons: Tropicalization Opinion: Optical with a focal length that I would never detach from the car body because for my reportage style I would make 90% of the photos. This is what I have to say I found it very well constructed in the materials on the MAF ladder, caps and hoods. It also gives a good tactile feeling because it is compact and uncompromising. It has a really soft and pasty bokeh while still maintaining a great MAF. F / B absent on 6D, on 5D3 a little bit flawed in the car. Maybe a little bit lint on the MAF but it would be unwise to pretend to shoot at F1,4 in AI SERVO and claim the perfect fire. Come on !!! sent on October 01, 2017 |
![]() | Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM Pros: Construction and robustness, niches, compactness, optical quality, AF, stabilizer, tropicalization Cons: Nobody Opinion: Before him I only had the old EF 17-35 f2,8 L and I have to say that I miss this new jewelery. The f4 is comfortably helped by the stabilizer that in the dark pesto helps so much, especially for those who have a hand not so firm. The image quality has to say that it is great on all the focal points already at minimum diaphragms. It is well constructed and robust, and very good ring tones. Excellent travel companion for street and reportage. Highly recommended! sent on October 01, 2017 |
![]() | Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Pros: Construction, Optical Quality, AF. Cons: Nobody. Opinion: Very well-built optics and excellent quality. Used in both the still life field, giving a remarkable detail precision, both in the wedding field capturing those details that a normal lens could not. It was also used in portraits but I find it too sharp already at 2.8 and too long. The only counter (stabilization and haze) that might have disappeared by buying the L IS version. sent on September 23, 2017 |
![]() | Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM Pros: Weight, angle of field, cost, size, brightness, construction, image quality Cons: stabilizer, it's not Full Time MF. Opinion: It was bought to return a 35mm on an EOS 200D and I must say it does its dirty figure. Although compact and of little weight, I found it well built and solid. It gives you a very good picture quality of 2.8, which you will not be surprised if you do not ever get rid of it. RnFlicking with a FF and a 35mm, I would say it was a good solution for those "little weight" outputs! sent on September 23, 2017 |
![]() | Canon 5D Mark II Pros: Resolution, low noise, Full Frame, ISO, file very workable, Full HD video, connections, light menu. Cons: Small for large hands (BG), burst slow shutter lag, lack 720P and choice fps. Opinion: After several camera bodies is that I have now (I spent all classes canon). I had a series 1 and I admit that the body return to a little boy was heard but not too much. Because if I lost in AF, burst strength, and I've got gained in image quality, ISO, and Mpixel. I noticed a lot of PRO and that makes me very happy purchase and use, but if I find cons say - Series 1 and 7D have a better grip. - Lacks the 720p option and the choice of fps in the video. - Burst slow but justified (this is a given sector body). - AF very good only on the central point (that is what I wrote above). - No double slot The rest is up for grabs! sent on October 08, 2012 |
![]() | Canon 1D Mark III Pros: Strong body, ergonomics, burst, AF, ISO, menu, battery, dual-slot, meter, viewfinder and image quality. Cons: 10Mpx just right. Opinion: To say that I was amazed by this machine is an understatement. I said everything in the box of the PRO. I may add that the weight of the machine I was never "weighed", indeed quite the opposite. The image quality is also high ISO. His 10Mpx were not almost never a limit but perhaps for those who need to crop it could be. The evaluations Charity is definitely a car to be seized. sent on October 08, 2012 |
![]() | Canon 5D Pros: Image quality, strength, density sensor, right amount megapixel, Full Frame, ISO. Cons: Meter, slow burst. Opinion: It 'was the first FF digital and I must say that I got great shots if not superlative. The more I loved it for the image quality as I got good photos in various occasions, and especially in very varied conditions / circumstances. It has a fair amount of Mpixel fit in any format (I got the 100x70 and surprised). The ISO range is fully usable, maybe there would be a 6400 but at that time you could not ask for too much. I appreciated for its strength as it has a good grip and I do not know why but great resistance to dust and splashing water. And although many consider it not suitable for sports photos I say that I've got that rally, football, soccer, and volleyball triatlhon, the burst is certainly not the best but the focus does its job. One thing that made me "curse" is the long exposure because very often did not give the correct exposure. For the rest consigliatissima given the prices of used. sent on October 08, 2012 |
![]() | Canon 40D Pros: Image quality, price (now), grip, speed, AF. Cons: Viewfinder, LCD sparse, 10Mpx (large prints), ISO. Opinion: I had this body a lot 'of years ago and I got rid of only to go to the full size. A little 'I regret it because I've done everything, from fashion shows to rally from football matches to landscapes. I printed out several photos, well at high iso without notice smudges. Given the price at which it is sold, I would say that is a great deal! Of course, the viewfinder is not the best and even at high ISO does not shine (the 3200 is only for extreme cases). But with 10Mpx and the shutter speed is definitely a car that can still give a lot! sent on October 08, 2012 |
![]() | Canon EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Pros: Focal range on FF, weight, compactness, clarity, good brightness, USM, affordable price. Cons: Slight vignetting at room temperature, some AC, lack IS. Opinion: I was looking for a good all-rounder and not too expensive and this Canon 24-85 home was for me. I had 24-70 and 28-70 and Canon do not feel the inferiority of the newcomer. Useful if you want to follow an event or event without losing time. Add also that the lens is well-defined and well compacted. In addition to having a light weight. I highly recommend it! sent on October 08, 2012 |
![]() | Canon EF 100mm f/2.0 USM Pros: small, light, bright, high-definition CT, very little AC TA, bokeh smooth, creamy detachment subject-background admirable lens diameter smaller then a low cost with filters, fast and cost very content! Cons: missing the hood. Opinion: I admit that I have taken it because at the time I did not have the money to take the 135mm but I understand that the difference is abysmal! I've used it on 40D and gave me the results nothing short of fantastic. Good ex-subject bokeh background with a creamy and pleasant while maintaining a high level definition. The hood might have helped to shield the lens from flare or CA. I sold it for different business needs, but it will take up absolutely! sent on December 05, 2011 |
![]() | Canon 350D Pros: Small, light, good image quality, price (now), dual screens. Cons: AF performance, slow burst, screen baby. Opinion: The 350D was my first digital and I must say I took a lot with her. As said above the image quality is all right and with its 8Mpx are you doing enough (but not too much). The AF is not the best but if Cavicchia, the exposure as well. It 'plasticky, everyone knows that, but he never succumbed to beatings and various scantonate. One thing that always fascinated me haq and that no other series XXXD does not have is the dual screen, very useful to me! The price is crazy, if you need to let us fight a little something (someone uses it only for the infrared). sent on October 05, 2011 |
![]() | Canon 400D Pros: Small, lightweight, pocket-I would say (in a large bag), good management settings, simple menu, "good" image quality, 10Mpx, light meter. Cons: Small viewfinder, AF really PENOSO, noticeable noise, small for those with large hands, slow. Opinion: I use it because of family but not never buy and I'll explain why, not good then AF can not keep the subject (moving) in focus, and that's why I had to throw a lot of shots. The exposure seems rather good, cane rarely. With 10Mpx are you doing enough, even prints 30x45 and a little 'more. It has a small viewfinder and dense therefore difficult to use with manual lenses. Noticeable noise at 800ISO but when printed, the photos, you do not notice. It 's very small, so if you had big hands consiglo the BG, is light then goes wrong with lenses like 70-200 2.8, 300mm, etc. Of course being a reflex the entrylevel you buy knowing what you go against so for those who are beginners is just fine! sent on October 05, 2011 |
