canon_efm15-45Canon EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM

Pros: Small, light, more than adequate optical performance at a now really ridiculous price (which is another gigantic PRO... it costs not even 60 euros!)

Cons: Having to "unlock" it with that racket stick...

Opinion: Vote 9 well deserved! If they had told me - before - how satisfied I would have been, I would not have believed it. Almost taken as a joke for the M10 because it cost less than a dinner in a pizzeria for 4 people, it turned out to be sharp enough even at TA, and a blade if closed by a stop. Silent AF as remembered by those in front of me, stabilized, but above all tiny and negligible: with this lens attached the M10 is a battle compact that fits in the pouch! The only flaw, as mentioned above, is that damn release mechanism, which you need to use when it is closed to start shooting: "put the lens in shooting position"... And this is also necessary to see the shooting data and the battery status. Bah... If I pick the engineer who came up with the idea of designing the process of use in this way, I tell him four (maybe even five or six). :D

tamron_17-35osdTamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di OSD

Pros: Light, solid, sharp, filterable, versatile and bright enough too

Cons: Likely need for autofocus micro-adjustment

Opinion: I've been using it for several months now and when I want absolute quality I bring this wide and the 70-300L, nothing else apart from the fifty in between. The pros describe well all the qualities of this lens, which made the score fly up to 10. The only defect (probable, however, not inevitable, and in any case obviously solvable with the AF calibration procedure) is the possible need to make the fine micro-adjustment of the AF on the wide side (17mm) and / or on the telephoto side (35mm) due to the fact that it is a third-party lens. This therefore makes it not recommended to be used on machines not equipped with this feature (AF micro-adjustment).

canon_eos_m10Canon EOS M10

Pros: Invisible, tiny, light, very resistant, intuitive, articulated screen, built-in flash, 18mpx, focus peaking.

Cons: Slow operation if you don't pay attention to the settings.

Opinion: How ignorant this little girl is! Tiny, easy to handle, comfortable, intuitive to the maximum. I use it with adapted "vintage" manual fixed cameras, using the convenient focus peaking (which damn Canon didn't want to put away FW on DSLRs equipped with DPAF... mah!), which allows you to focus with lenses from decades ago with disarming ease, once you get the hang of it. High ISO well usable with Denoise AI even up to 3200/6400 if in good light, otherwise the weight of the years is felt on the 18mpx Canon (which I also had on the 550D, and which I know very well). Operation unfortunately (due to obvious and imaginable hardware limits of the machine's computing capacity) slowed down if you are not careful and activate all the extra trinkets in the room (corrections and helps). I paid 150 with all the accessories and dual battery in 2023, and at these figures it is an absolute best buy if you have to have fun with native M lenses (third-party manual or Canon AF) or with vintage manual lenses with M42 screw mount with M42-EF ring + EF-EFM ring, but also lenses with M39 screw mount and M39-EFM ringsince the draft here is short. Rated 10 s.a. price, features and work it has to do.

lowepro_protactic_bp450aw_iiLowepro ProTactic BP 450 AW II

Pros: System of eyelets for expansion, excellent lumbar belt, interior space, huge amount of dividers, built-in rain cover, back side opening, quick side openings to hold the camera.

Cons: Basically none, if you want could have been lighter, but it would not have been equally solid and suitable for transporting delicate equipment

Opinion: A photographic backpack, for me, DEFINITIVE. I had the first 350 AW first series but I needed a larger backpack, this is for me so a real point of arrival for the transport of photographic equipment. The buttonhole system is amazing, I will never be able to do without it, ok that it is not a classic M.O.L.L.E. in all respects, but it is at least half: the system allows you to fix additional material on the outside of the backpack as you prefer, as well as to configure the position of standard accessories, such as bands and tripod pocket, depending on the needs of specific trips / excursions. The opening on the back side is a good safety solution for crowded places. The low side openings allow convenient access to the camera in case of need for quick shooting (and if you are in crowded places, there you can safely hold your hand to "plug" the pocket. The built-in rain cover is very comfortable, easy to remove and apply, as well as really efficient. The construction is very solid, both for seams and materials, the generous padding and the semi-rigid shell then give an extra security. Also supplied there are a lot of tear-off dividers, so the interior space can be adapted to a thousand different needs. Pockets everywhere, room for a 14-inch PC. Last, but not least, the lumbar belt is perfect, wide, very comfortable for walking and hiking (as well as also equipped with pockets!): if you adjust it well the weight on the shoulders of the shoulders - although wide, padded and comfortable - shoulder straps will be almost non-existent. Vote 10 laude, good Lowepro.

canon_100_macroCanon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM

Pros: crisp, well built, AF efficient, yield and superb image quality, lightweight for a macro and also compact, derisory filter diameter, true RR 1:1, focus limiter, full time manual focus

Cons: nobody

Opinion: One of the sacred monsters of canon economic kits. If one wants to do serious macro without fainting, he can look at third-party lenses but in my opinion the first choice remains this lens. Fast AF, reliable construction, superb image quality at all diaphragms and shooting distances, full time manual focus, focus distance limiter as on large canvases and as you fit on a serious macro, RR 1:1 (of course). I'm really glad I got it, I didn't expect to be so satisfied!

canon_50_f1-8stmCanon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM

Pros: light, small, more than sufficient performance even at full opening, economical and also well built, AF very very good and quiet

Cons: just the focus by wire

Opinion: For this price, with these characteristics and for what it must do, it is the fifty reference. Sharpness is more than enough even at full opening in the middle zone, but it also defends at the edges in reality if you do not expect a performance from Zeiss or Leitz. If it closes, as others have written it becomes a beast of definition on any machine body. The AF is quite quiet (not like the 24-105 STM, to be honest, but enough) and precise. The only flaw for me is the focus by wire that does not allow full time manual focus (that is: if you want to move the focus, when you are with the lens switch on AF you can not do it by hand). It has everything you need at a cost, frankly, really derisory. Ah, maybe another flaw has it, yes: I hadn't bought it until now! :D

jupiter_85_f2mcJupiter 9 - 85mm f/2 MC

Pros: Small, light, very solid, 15 diaphragm slats, M42 screw bayonet

Cons: For a lens 30-35 years ago, no one

Opinion: A little giant of the portrait with the medium canvas. 15 diaphragm slats for an exceptional blurry, remarkable mechanical solidity, diaphragm locking mechanism in my opinion very intelligent for a manual lens, precise distance scale, small and light, very pleasant colors ... a vintage with bows in short. If they had told me That I would be so satisfied with it (and for more than an 85mm) maybe I wouldn't have believed it myself either. A f2 is very soft and splendid by portrait, but from f/2.8 already screams out an absurd quality (see photo), amazing for a lens of this cost (between 140 and 180 at the time of my review - November/December 2020). Another merit - for me - the M42 screw bayonet that makes it suitable for both SLRs (with the very thin adapter ring) and ML (with the one most often that fixes the pull) unlike the older "non MC" brother, who has M39 bayonet suitable only for ML (due to the fact that that was for telemetry machines, therefore without mirror, of the time).

canon_70-300lCanon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 L IS USM

Pros: Short from closed, solid, precise, sharp, excellent stabilization. And why not? Nice. :D

Cons: Almost nothing.

Opinion: It's a 70-200 f4 in all respects, but with 100mm more traded for a negligible fraction of diaphragm in less canvas side. Very solid, very precise, sharp already at TA at all focal points, well stabilized. The portion of the MAF ring with the inscription "Macro" allows beautiful closeups that with 70-200 were completely foreclosed because of the ridiculous native RR. A little may seem excessive weight, but a multiplied 70-200 f4 weighs the same while being longer and darker, so the weight can not be counted among the defects. Once I would have said the price but currently not, on the used if one wants mm amateurs of absolute quality on FF is a best buy. The fact that you can't multiply is absolutely irrelevant, virtually no 70-300 is able to multiply serenely so you know what you buy and why. Unique, small against? Maybe unbalanced with the ring mounted forward... But... just mount it backwards. :D

canon_speedlite_270ex_iiCanon Speedlite 270EX II

Pros: Small size, low weight, affordable price, upward-oriented.

Cons: defect only PARZIALE (see review): orientable "only" upwards

Opinion: I don't like flashes, first of all because they are almost always big and bulky. Secondly, I love to shoot the subjects with the light available in the surrounding environment. But often the light is not enough, and after a few years of digital photography and fights with the noise due to the high ISO, I had to resign myself to the purchase of an external flash (also due to the fact that the Canons from series 6 and up are without it). The choice, given the first of the reasons why the flashes disliked me, fell on the smallest of the dedicated Canon flashes, this 270 EX II. The cost is more than reasonable, and the weight of just over 2 hectare (including batteries!) made my choice fall on it. So, among the pro-year I definitely price, weight and small size. Given these merits, a further value that I would like to include is the fact that it can be oriented vertically. The impossibility of rotating it horizontally would be a con, but it is a defect absolutely due to the above merits (small and light, the further junction was certainly not achievable without structural problems). So a "half" counter, which as a result has the need to use the front-facing flash in case of vertical photos. To be combined with high-quality rechargeable batteries (Eneloop and similar) since, if the two aA batteries needed are the classic ones (Duracell/Energizer etc.) or the rechargeable "supermarket" will be frustratingly poor!

samyang_14Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Aspherical

Pros: crisp, 2.8, cheap, rather well built from the point of view of solidity, fun to use, light.

Cons: the MAF's dial is slightly stared

Opinion: after the dial of the MAF a little stared (the MAF is "in advance" as a real distance compared to the one that brings the scale back to the barrel) for the rest I find only merits. If you focus calmly with the magnification in live view, there is no way to go wrong and the sharpness is enough even to f2.8 (it is clear that it can not be on all the diaphragm, who expected this result at TA made the wrong purchase). A f4 is already globally great, from f5.6 to f11 is outstanding (on 26Mpx at least). Besides, there is a bit of physiological diffraction, but it is still optically excellent. I find it well built despite considering the price, the lampshade is plastic but it is embedded and in my opinion adequately protects the flashy, protruding and otherwise very exposed outer glass, which makes so much figure with its accentuated sphthicivity but must be Protected. The cap is also plastic but fits well and does not detach. The lens contains a good amount of glass, you feel, and the metal parts increase a feeling of solidity that I found in lenses even of higher price, build quality that you would not expect in a cheap lens - and this, from the mere point of view price, it is. The whisp distortion is not even imention, too easy to correct with even cheap programs (PTLens) or even free (GimpLensFun plugin on Gimp 32-bit). In fact, in all honesty, I also happened to take more excited "familiar" shots with the children running, sealing in LV freehand, and I still found myself quite at ease pulling out some great shots: in fact with the diaphragm closed if you turn the dial in a reasonable circle of the distance to which the subjects are located you are sure that they will be in focus in a way that goes from perfect to acceptable, thanks to the high pdc given by the large framed area. Final grade: 9 (only for the starry dial)

canon_24-105stmCanon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM

Pros: price, sharpness, AF, stabilization, lightness, compactness

Cons: none for the price!

Opinion: It costs less than an APSC entry level, but it's a 4.5x zoom lens per full frame... it is dark, of course, but it is largely compensated by the fact that it is always clear, with every focal point and every diaphragm. The distortions do not interest me because they are correctable in posts, and disappear in the face of the extreme convenience of the object being purchased. If we add a precise and silent AF, an always effective stabilizer and weights and clutter all in all (for a real all-rounder zoom lens for FF) reduced, the vote can only be 10: the construction, see above, is the daughter of the price, and it has been seen a lot of pegg me in lenses of much other price range and optical quality. Indispensable to enter the FF world without fainting!

canon_50_f1-4Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM

Pros: lightness, compactness, gorgeous color rendering, maximum opening

Cons: AF not always precise (in LV, on the other hand, there is no mistake, but it is thanks to the DPAF at that point), slight softness in TA

Opinion: I like it because it is a feather, gives a warm and "vintage" rendering to the shots and can open the diaphragm at 1.4 ... On the other, it is true that it is a bit soft at TA, but extreme sharpness is not the purpose of this lens, nor should it be for those who buy it. By the way, already closing at 1.6 / 1.8 we are at consonant levels. I also confirm the impression of AF inconsistent with very open diaphragms, said this however if you close the diaphragm from 2 onwards is a blade and does not miss a beat. For larger openings, I rely either on the MF or the excellent DPAF of the Live View Canon, and then problems solved even then. For the price on the used, a lens that gives nice satisfactions (new I actually would not have taken it...)! Vote 8, but only for the two small and partial "against".

canon_6d_mark_iiCanon 6D Mark II

Pros: Excellent ISO hold, general QI with 6Mpx more than the previous model, adjustable screen, DPAF in LV, ergonomics and weight, AF module, exposure and white balance automatic GPS and WiFi to Condire.

Cons: Nothing that you can not be aware already at the time of purchase: If I have to enter specifically, I would say that simply equalized the performance at the IQ level of the previous 6D, both at the level of ISO and dynamic range.

Opinion: After 8 months of use also intense, I am to review this camera. It is a complete and performing "All Arounder", can do everything and can do it in a way that goes from good to excellent, but never poor. In many situations it is even superabundant, in others simply adequate. I therefore consider it suitable for virtually any kind and any demanding amateur photographer (especially if already possessor of Canon material) who wants a machine that is the point of arrival of his equipment. The cons I have listed are absolutely mitigated by the fact that it adds 6Mpx compared to the past and has a large AF module, with close points but absolutely not too central (my repositions are reduced to the bone, while doing only portraits substantially). Where there comes the AF module for coverage, we think the LV with 80% coverage of the frame to compensate. The whole is in fact seasoned by the very welcome addition of DPAF that already had on the 70D, but that here is improved as performance and speed, making the LV of Canon SLR The benchmark in this field. In the end, therefore, the list of cons is in my opinion totally forgiable, also and above all according to the Price (right) on which it has settled after all this time: at the beginning I do not deny having considered it absolutely overdone, as happens on the other hand/ Unfortunately to all the "cool outputs" Canon. The exposure and the white balance are excellent and almost always adapted to the scene (the 70D returned in situations of artificial light almost always yellow images, instead the 6D2 almost always assigns the WB "tungsten" giving a natural color to the subjects and Photo). The articulated screen allowed me shots that were otherwise very uncomfortable. WiFi used a ton of times to share and use photos immediately. GPS turned off just for habit and because I know the places where I photographed, otherwise on the road I think I would turn it on with good peace of the battery (I have spare, so much). Excellent-as a Canon script-solidity and construction, with an equally obvious feeling of immediate use, coming from other Canon bodies. In short, I can only recommend it to those who are "pointing".

huawei_honor_9Huawei Honor 9

Pros: Everything: Processor, RAM, GPU, reception, fingerprint reader, screen, ergonomics, battery, memory.

Cons: Nothing apart from the obvious impossibility of accessing the battery... maybe even the fact that if you want a Micro SD you can not put two sim, but I was interested in a single SIM for which for me is not a counter.

Opinion: It has everything you would expect from a phone that you pay (at the time of my purchase) 300 euros, but even more! I do not care to take pictures but I have to admit that the quality is much greater than the Honor 6 that I owned previously. It is the second Honor that I buy and I could not be more satisfied with this brand, the best performance at the lowest price (while having to come to terms with the inability to access the battery, but that is an evil common to all modern smartphones).

canon_35_f2isCanon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM

Pros: All.

Cons: Absence of Lens hood.

Opinion: Sharp at all Apercs, excellent colour rendition, precise and Fast AF, perfect focal length on both APSC, where the yield is also fantastic, that on FF (even better). Very effective stabilizer, excellent build quality, adequate size, and aesthetically it does not seem like a toy as someone before me wrote. Rated 10, I fell in love after a few shots, it was the lens I was looking for! For someone the weight may be overkill but if you want aperlets so open you don't expect better with a lesser weight, you will be disappointed. Perhaps the lack of tropicalization is a regret, but the one for Canon is to the exclusive prerogative of the series L... Price a little high on the new, but if you find it on the used in excellent condition do not let him absolutely. Only downside in summary, the lack of the lens hood. So let us put the soul in peace on these few aspects, which clearly do not affect the final vote, which is maximum.

Pros: Everything.

Cons: If I find the need to tweak the configuration every time, but this is also its strength: adapt to both the two-hour outing that heavy one-day excursion. That flaw in half.

Opinion: Splendid! Flexible, agile, versatile, durable, lightweight, efficient, secure, strap security professional construction for the photographic material, the system M.O.L.L.E. outside is the icing on the cake. It's not great but it's the price to pay to get through comfortably as hand luggage. Got it used at a rather overblown but justified by the impeccable condition of the object, an object that, we take it once, it is manufactured to last very long.

Pros: Low price and good performance if not overloaded with applications

Cons: Entry level, not much camera

Opinion: If you own it with the lens of making it by phone and you are limited to instant messaging (whatsapp, telegram & similar) is more than enough. RAM does not support many other installed applications, and especially if you launch games, social games and tracking applications or heavy stuff of this kind, you will find yourself an unhelpful phone in no time. canon_70-200_f4isCanon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM

Pros: sharpness and colors, high speed, remarkable stabilization, solidity and build quality, low weight for an L series, fixed diaphragm brightness.

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I couldn't choose a medium long zoom better I think. Light to be an L-series, quality (colors, blurred, tropicalization), precise and sharp at all focal distances and diaphragm openings, finally the autofocus is a splinter as usual for the USM and stabilization helps a lot. I think he's going to be in the set for... All the time. At the limit we cried a 1.4x II in addition, and away go! :)

genesis_bh34Genesis BH-34

Pros: solidity, stability, reliability, value for money, weight, ease of use.

Cons: none detectable so far

Opinion: I took it with the Triopo ME-3228X8C and lately I also use it on the Gorillapod (it's my only tripod head): a really great ball head! The fixation is very solid, used (at most weight) with the 6DMarkII and a 70-200 f4 IS (total 1.5kg) and does not move by half a millimeter. You could safely mount up to 6/7 kg (the 15 declared in the specifications in my opinion are exaggerated). The merit of this head is that with a rather low expense you have an object that holds you large weights even off-center (I refer for example to a 1kg body with a canvas of 25cm and 2/3 kg). Then, if the whole thing is also stable it is to be seen: it is clear that if a canvas has the ring bracket it is always better to use that! But it must be said that the head would still hold the load, net of the wrong use that one can make it. What I can directly testify to is that with a light canvas like a Canon 70-200 f4 has no displacement whatsoever, and holds well. I'd buy it back for sure!

Pros: Lightness, strength, versatility, portability, strength.

Cons: maximum weight, but to hold the paintings need a serious stand FOR STRENGTH, of which this is not a substitute but complement (as mentioned by others).

Opinion: Solid, you can trust to give him (forgive the pun) your reflex, also fitted with a couple of pounds of stuff over. I do not pass the ½ kg of equipment, even by mounting the heaviest things, but it is extremely stable and sound after all. If we really want, the need of the head can be a counter, but as already written by others, since it is a SUPPLEMENT of serious stand, I already had in mind to use the only head I have both, moving from one to 'else in need; so the absence of the head is not a counter for me (the kit with the cheap extra head, among other things) .rnrn I recommend it very strongly, is indispensable when you do not want or can not bring the pound and a half more additional tripod 40cm "good" with them! rnUn 10 deserved in my opinion.

Cons: A little 'weight (but Tropicalised), noise above ISO 1600

Opinion: Even I came from 550D, and change to that it was like having a taste of the full frame, either in quality of returned images as build quality and shooting skills! It is indeed a bell'aggeggio, and getting it used I will delay the transition to full-frame a few years at least. Meanwhile it is a machine that will allow me to invest in lenses for FF without having to regret not to exploit them because of the limitations of the camera body, which is what volevo.rnSe there is a lot of darkness will not push beyond ISO 1600 because then the recovery PP is difficult.

And then, to have at this price (got involved and exchange) a fixed focal length of this quality, can only make him deserve me 10 seconds! RnrnUltimo but not least, in my opinion, the advantage of being able to correct virtually all defects introduced by the objective (distortion, chromatic aberration, vignetting) with software that provides Canon supplied (I am referring to DPP), but this is an advantage that can be associated with all the brand Canon lenses, so I consider it unnecessary .
