Pros: Image quality, zoom range, good colours, stabilizer, strong L-series version, sharpness, autofocus

Cons: "Only" F4

Opinion: It is in use as my standard zoom lense, very good working with APS-C and also FF. Best sharpness results with a aperture range between f5.6 and f8. The lense is my first choice for travel. In my opinion there must be more aperture possible than F4. My proposal for a new version of the lense would be F2.8 At the moment I don't see a better lense of Canon for this zoom range. Only the EF 24-70 2.8 L USM II is interesting, but it costs more than double of the price of the 24-105.

Pros: versatility

Cons: a bit soft at TA

Opinion: I bought it as a "forklift" because my 24-70 2.8 saw fit to hang me at the beginning of August and with imminent work to do. Of course he does not have the magic of his little brother, but he still passed the sports hall test well and saved me a job that otherwise I would not have been able to do. Now that I have fixed the 24-70 I keep it as a handyman lens for when I go for walks in the city or picnics with friends and I still want to take some "easy" photos. Also because it is light, versatile and with a good focal range, perfect in short, not to load your shoulders with too much weight when you go on a trip. A bit soft at TA, the photos seem almost "kneaded". But overall widely promoted

Pros: All-rounder, sharpness, colors, AF, construction.

Cons: Barrel does not lock.

Opinion: My first L series! The greater range of focal lengths covered and the price difference compared to the 24-70 made me choose it. It is an incredible all-rounder, a real guarantee when you want to play it safe and take home the service, it also has excellent colors, good bokeh, is sharp and has excellent stabilization; If they have sold them to wagons there will be a reason. On FF at 24mm it has a slight distortion but nothing dramatic, absolutely recoverable. It is an f4, so a bit dark, it does not have the magic of 24-70 but covers many more focal lengths, a feature that makes it irreplaceable. For me it remains a great companion of adventures! Rated 9 full.

Pros: Hotbed, used price, colors, quality, constant diaphragm, robustness

Cons: Slight quality decay at f4, slight distortion at 24mm, I prefer zooms that do not lengthen / shorten.

Opinion: After a few months of use I share my opinions on this zoom. Year of construction 2015. Purchased to have a zoom on the center focal lengths that I use most in my tourist trips. The opinions on the forum are conflicting but I must say I am very satisfied. You must use from 5.6 up and (better) avoid the 24mm still usable. I really liked the color rendering. In my tourist trips I combine it with 16-35 and 70-200 all at f4. Mllto satisfied for the excellent functioning, really comfortable. I put link to my comparison between the 3 zooms. https://www.juzaphoto.com/topic2.php?l=it&t=4074177

Pros: Construction, war autofocus, good stabilization, colors and yield, great versatility, price now in the used.

Cons: sharpness not quite at the top but acceptable, limited for aperture.

Opinion: A Canon classic, a lens often sold in kits from the first 5D to the 5D Mark III, which has satisfied many photographers around the world, tried for a month, beautiful construction, practically complete in everything despite its twenty years of age, compact and with a very well balanced weight even when it extends to the maximum, excellent stabilization even if of the first generation, very precise and fast autofocus, which even in the dark can act very well, bright colors and shades, especially in 24mm landscapes, probably its successor in terms of sharpness and global yield will have a great extra gear, but for what it currently costs in the used if you want a stabilized all-rounder with 350 or at most 400 euros you can take home a lens practically still legendary, highly recommended.
