Pros: Good construction, image quality, light for a tele, very good value for money

Cons: Stabilizer a bit noisy

Opinion: Excellent telephoto zoom, initially I bought it trusting to later switch to its older brother f2.8, however the more than good performance and the considerable difference in cost have subsequently pushed me to continue using this lens. valid construction, I used it both indoors and outdoors, finding it very valid in portraits for example but also doing plane spotting, in the latter case particularly on APS-C bodies, where thanks to the crop factor it becomes particularly appreciable for more distant subjects. Not exceptional construction but still adequate to the quality level of the optics, stabilizer that makes itself heard with noises that initially arouse some concern but then, in fact, do not represent a problem. Truly captivating image quality, light and versatile, it has always met my expectations so much so that I never felt the desire to change it for something more performing. I currently use it with an R5 MkII, using an EF/RF adapter ring, with full satisfaction.

Pros: Solid build sharpness, great stabilizer and price

Cons: nothing for me

Opinion: I have a Canon 55-250 IS STM lens and I have taken many beautiful photographs, but with this lens bought used for 500 euros many years ago the Canon 70-200 f/4 IS USM is fantastic, for me it is the best lens that Canon has made, perhaps a little bulky it fits just in length in my bag but when you mount it on the camera and start shooting, it arouses envy from other photographers who see the results, from an amateur photographer like me I judge it perfect from every point of view, if you find it even if it is out of production don't think twice, buy it.

Pros: Sharpness, wonderful overall rendering, probably even faster than its big brother IS II, pretty much everything.

Cons: Not entirely suitable for professional use, if not only in the studio.

Opinion: Tested for a few months as a replacement for its brother f2.8, an amazing lens, probably the best telephoto that Canon has ever designed... Sharpness on the sides, vivid, crystal-clear colors and a truly mind-blowing portrait rendering, sometimes even better in shades than its big brother IS II... Maybe even better in speed, but it's trivial to say considering the weight and small size... A very compact construction design that makes it easier to transport and hold on the camera bodies... only in the evening the reduced aperture compared to the F2.8 models, despite the stabilization excellent offer is felt... Although you can still make beautiful portraits in the evening, I also recommend it to those who work in the studio, because there it becomes practically perfect. Highly recommended !

Pros: Bokeh, weight, size, manufacture (I used to write "everything" before:) )

Cons: I would have preferred it black, noisy stabilizer when used on RP

Opinion: Optics had for 11 years. Sold to finance the purchase of the 3 corresponding fixeds: Viltrox 85mm F1.8 RF, EF135mm F2.0, EF200mm F2.8. I think that after this perspective there are two ways out: either the fixed or the stabilized biancone. I opted for the former. Until the advent of the fixed, the best optics possessed. Used on 50D, 6D, RP. Wonderful blur, with the current sw there is no problem for the sharpness to TA at all focal lengths. For me, it remains the best buy (used) for those who need versatility for focal ones. Returns warm, soft portraits both outdoors and indoors. On the RP I shot at 1/30" at 70mm and at 1/40" without shake. The stabilizer made "cash" on the RP, rather noisy, much more than on the 6D. For comparison: I had the EF F/4.0 L IS triad (16-35mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm) for 4 years; well, the other two optics did not come anywhere close to the performance of 70-200 in terms of IQ.

Pros: Sharpness, solid construction, AF speed, IS stabilizer, tropicalized

Cons: For an amateur like me: none

Opinion: Coming from a Canon 55-250mm IS STM I found myself with this "sacred monster" in my hand and it made me understand immediately that there is a lot of substance. After a couple of test outings I can say that unplugging it from the car is often a disappointment; at the racetrack he immediately demonstrated his strengths: lightning-fast AF, stabilizer and a sharpness to which I was not even remotely ready, absolutely a pleasure to use. The only drawback (but it is a personal factor) is the focal ring that I would have preferred a little harder / frictioned, for the rest I would buy it again tomorrow.
