ttartisan_apsc10_f2TTartisan APS-C 10mm f/2

Pros: Price, yield even at the edges by closing the diaphragm

Cons: Weight

Opinion: An exciting lens in some respects and a little disappointing in others. Built entirely of metal, including the lens hood, it undoubtedly gives an impression of solidity. The dimensions are quite small. And here comes (for me) a con. Being all metal, it takes on an important weight. Even the objective cap is made of metal... Looking at the dimensions, one would not say that it weighs like a tile. The maf ring nut is well made and sized. There is also the aperture ring, and here the second con: thin and close to the camera body. Not the best to operate. For God's sake, to use it you use it, but it could be better. It is incredible how low the distortion is in such a broad perspective. The TA yield in the center is excellent but at the edges it drops drastically. By nose, to have an optimal performance everywhere, you must avoid opening below 5.6. And then I don't understand what is the use of such an optic with f2.0 aperture... I would tend to use it for landscapes, so much more closed. The vignetting is there but it is expected in such a perspective and indeed it is even lower than expected. It's manual focus, but it's not a dramatic lack. With a super wide-angle lens you travel hyperfocal and go. Otherwise the PDC is there and it is remarkable already by closing a hair. In short, in conclusion, for the cost it is worth it. What holds me back from total enthusiasm is the weight. Solid is solid, it's all metal. But why? Metal is solid but on the other hand it weighs. If there were no alternatives, Formula One cars would be made of metal, right? Instead, to reduce weight, they avoid metal. There are very light materials and even more resistant than metal. Such a lens, for example, if you fall to the ground on the hard, you pick it up dented and with the compromised mechanisms and throw it away. Mark

fujifilm_xc35_f2Fujifilm XC 35mm f/2

Pros: At its price all

Cons: If you know the characteristics of XC no cons

Opinion: If you buy, knowing its characteristics, from XC series, you cannot be disappointed. Very low price for what it offers. Light, silent, immediate, excellent autofocus, excellent performance. I have no negative points to underline. A lens with these optical characteristics at this price, I think is an unmissable piece. And then, if you don't use it as a hammer it's not so delicate. Mark

fujifilm_xe5Fujifilm X-E5

Pros: Many things

Cons: Very few things

Opinion: I waited to have the car some time before writing my ratings. Now I think I can. Let's start with construction. I come from an XE4, we are at a higher step. The level of robustness and the feeling of solidity is undoubtedly superior. Both in terms of feeling when holding it and in practical use. I'm not just talking about the camera body but about the various buttons and dials. The small handle? It serves and is more efficient than you might believe. I'm talking about using the XE4 equipped with an additional grip and thumb rest. With the XE5 I don't feel the urgent need. EVFs and displays, although they remain of the old type, are adequate. Of course, the eyepiece can be penalizing for those who wear glasses. As for usability and immediacy: I come from an XE4 which, according to many, was too simplified, with some dials and buttons lost. The XE5 reconquers them all and adds a front self-timer lever that houses 5 custom functions. Well, with the XE4 I have never felt any shortcomings. I think the XE5 is even exaggerated in terms of direct and customizable controls. In short, you can configure it for your needs like a glove. If you configure it well, you hardly have to access the menu according to your wishes. Everything is at your fingertips. The IBIS works very well and is an important plus. Another feature that I think is noteworthy is the digital teleconverter that shoots with magnification (and consequent cropping of the file) of 1.4 or 2.0 x. Considering that it starts at 40 Mpixell, an important file is kept. This option can also be called up with a direct and individual command. I also appreciate the film simulations present and the possibility of even saving complete film settings (the famous recipes). In addition, worthy of note, the possibility of shooting in raw, jpeg and HEIF, which can then be converted in the camera to 8 or 16 bit TIFF, with film simulations applied for subsequent retouching on the PC. As for the autofocua, I find it valid. It also has face and eye recognition, tracking animals, cars, aerial birds, etc. However, I cannot pronounce on its goodness compared to the AF of other brands because I have no experience of direct comparisons. I don't find any faults with it, but I don't practice sports or bird photography. Hearing around, many consider Fujifilm's AF inferior to that of Sony or Canon. I find it a nice machine and it pushes you to use it. It has charm to spare and makes you want to use it. I come from Canon FF reflex cameras but I must say that the sensations felt with the XE4 before and the XE5 now, are unique. Then I must say that being compact makes me want to have it with me often. And it is undoubtedly "easier" than having a large car. In this case, the car and a pair of lenses fit in a fanny pack. The price ? Altino compared to the past of the XE line. Believe me if I say, however, that it is no longer an entry level. In addition to IBIS, 40 Mpixell sensor, new processor and various additions, it is precisely the construction that is different and premium. The 40 Mp sensor exaggerated for an APS? I had doubts too. Instead, I find it very very good. Not louder than the previous 26 Mp. In my experience it is worth it.

fujifilm_xc15-45oisFujifilm XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ

Pros: Lightness, small size, excellent performance, price.

Cons: If you know and accept its characteristics, no cons.

Opinion: I find it a must. Great for portability and lightness. Small footprint, incredibly low price. It offers so much. Superb optical performance. If one buys it, he knows how it is and accepts it. I don't understand those who point out that it's plastic... You know when you buy it, it's not an unforeseen surprise. The motorized zoom? I prefer the classic one but in the end after a little practice you get in tune. For me, if you know its characteristics and accept them, it is worth the expense 1000 times. At that price, I don't find any cons, only points in favor. I would buy it again with my eyes closed.
