Pros: Small and high quality feel

Cons: cardslot : difficult to pull the card out.

Opinion: This camera gives so much shooting fun! It's all about the shooting experience with the X-E5.Ergonomics is improved but an extra thumb rest is recommended. The extra features : aspect ratio , surround view and the film sims that can be dialed in. The sensor is well known from other cameras. The EVF and LCD quality is more than enough. The weight is not too high to be used as a quick and small street camera.IBIS is very good!

Pros: Small, built with great materials, great buttons, menu, very nice functionality, small camera to fall in love with beautiful Fujifilm.

Cons: See: My description below.

Opinion: The Fuji X-E5 camera arrived yesterday, initially it was very critical of it. The camera is beautifully crafted with smooth surfaces, metal is a nice feeling. Tested with small lenses, Fuji 8 3.5, Sigma 10-18, Fuji 23 1.4WR, Fuji 16-55 WRII, the AF performs very well. I also tried with the new 23 2.8 lens, which I find very good, also it makes less noise than the Fuji 27 2.8, which I didn't like, I think everything is fine, I also find the 23mm focal length ideal as an all-rounder, the lens has a modern line and is very sharp with incredible compactness, you should keep that in mind, otherwise Fujifilm at the 35 1.4, 60 2.4 macro with character but a very weak slow AF. I like the menu, I get along like on my X-H2, but I don't particularly like the X-T System Menu. Actually, I find few criticisms, I don't particularly like the display I prefer the swivel ones with the possibility of closing everything as on my X-H2. I don't like the belt, strap provided with the camera in my horrible opinion, I would suggest as Peak-Design the belt maybe even small bag for small optics would be super compact. A small button for shooting, small smallrig for the X-E5 with carefully black or silver color with better grip. I find that the small batteries fit perfectly to the camera, only a slot for the memory card I find excellent solution keeping the camera body very small, otherwise the camera will be larger, I don't think it is possible to do much more so physiological limit, also there is the X-T5 as a professional camera, the X-E5 is not an action camera created for photographers who love to take photos and do not like video, I also have the Touchgreen turned off never loved in my opinion it also slows down photographic functions. I found two dots a bit negative, I'm not left-handed, I use my right hand even my right eye and I don't have problems with the buttons, but if I were a left-handed left-handed person it would also be a problem with the keys. I focus with the right eye viewfinder but with the left eye it would be a problem, you get in contact with your fingers with the viewfinder also a problem. Price?: I'm definitely a theme on this camera with optional I would buy so it exceeds the price of an example X-T5 or goes up to par, but the X-T5 is a professional camera, I think the X-E5 is a small machine with small class size for travel, road, small business where every extra gram counts, Prices however increase in general for me so acceptable.

Pros: Quality of the construction, quality of the Jpeg files at the top, portability, lens with very precise aperture ring, like a Swiss watch, small but quality optical viewfinder, with glasses it is a bit difficult but it is not as difficult as said by others, I can see the whole frame, it is a real pleasure to use it.

Cons: For someone used to Nikon menus it is a bit complicated to understand how to assign the functions, especially because the manual is not very clear, for me the two major defects are the front and back dials that are pressed too easily when you just want to move them to the left or right, activating unwanted functions, then I gave up the nice strap provided so when mounted it went to involuntarily change the diopters of the electronic viewfinder by moving the adjustment by touch.

Opinion: In general I am very satisfied with this semi-compact machine, it is a bit expensive but the construction and materials are of excellent quality, it is not really pocket-sized to always carry with me but every time I go out I find a way not to leave it at home. As apsc I also have the Nikon Z50ii with the 16-50 f2.8 but for walks and small trips, I prefer to bring the Fujifilm X-E5 with its small 23 2.8.

Pros: Quality of body materials, photographic rendering

Cons: Viewfinder, grip ,price

Opinion: I bought this machine and then returned it after 4 days The build quality is high, the rendering and colors are incredible but I couldn't like it enough to keep it. It is very uncomfortable to use, it has a good screen but the viewfinder is very small. In the end I decided that 1500 euros for the body alone were really a lot and I took a used X-t3 plus an X-m5 at the price of the X-e5 alone.

Pros: Many things

Cons: Very few things

Opinion: I waited to have the car some time before writing my ratings. Now I think I can. Let's start with construction. I come from an XE4, we are at a higher step. The level of robustness and the feeling of solidity is undoubtedly superior. Both in terms of feeling when holding it and in practical use. I'm not just talking about the camera body but about the various buttons and dials. The small handle? It serves and is more efficient than you might believe. I'm talking about using the XE4 equipped with an additional grip and thumb rest. With the XE5 I don't feel the urgent need. EVFs and displays, although they remain of the old type, are adequate. Of course, the eyepiece can be penalizing for those who wear glasses. As for usability and immediacy: I come from an XE4 which, according to many, was too simplified, with some dials and buttons lost. The XE5 reconquers them all and adds a front self-timer lever that houses 5 custom functions. Well, with the XE4 I have never felt any shortcomings. I think the XE5 is even exaggerated in terms of direct and customizable controls. In short, you can configure it for your needs like a glove. If you configure it well, you hardly have to access the menu according to your wishes. Everything is at your fingertips. The IBIS works very well and is an important plus. Another feature that I think is noteworthy is the digital teleconverter that shoots with magnification (and consequent cropping of the file) of 1.4 or 2.0 x. Considering that it starts at 40 Mpixell, an important file is kept. This option can also be called up with a direct and individual command. I also appreciate the film simulations present and the possibility of even saving complete film settings (the famous recipes). In addition, worthy of note, the possibility of shooting in raw, jpeg and HEIF, which can then be converted in the camera to 8 or 16 bit TIFF, with film simulations applied for subsequent retouching on the PC. As for the autofocua, I find it valid. It also has face and eye recognition, tracking animals, cars, aerial birds, etc. However, I cannot pronounce on its goodness compared to the AF of other brands because I have no experience of direct comparisons. I don't find any faults with it, but I don't practice sports or bird photography. Hearing around, many consider Fujifilm's AF inferior to that of Sony or Canon. I find it a nice machine and it pushes you to use it. It has charm to spare and makes you want to use it. I come from Canon FF reflex cameras but I must say that the sensations felt with the XE4 before and the XE5 now, are unique. Then I must say that being compact makes me want to have it with me often. And it is undoubtedly "easier" than having a large car. In this case, the car and a pair of lenses fit in a fanny pack. The price ? Altino compared to the past of the XE line. Believe me if I say, however, that it is no longer an entry level. In addition to IBIS, 40 Mpixell sensor, new processor and various additions, it is precisely the construction that is different and premium. The 40 Mp sensor exaggerated for an APS? I had doubts too. Instead, I find it very very good. Not louder than the previous 26 Mp. In my experience it is worth it.
