Pros: Is it worth much more than what it costs, or are the other lenses worth less than what they cost. Brava viltrox

Cons: Aperture ring missing, but you can't have it all.

Opinion: For what it costs it's a best buy. Very sharp even at full aperture, excellent boken (but not excellent), very light, MAF ring that is better than some nikkor I have from 2k, it is not tropicalized but having a spartan construction without many rings the possibilities of infiltration are minimal, lens hood perhaps a little small, I will reserve the right to test it in backlight. With the XPRO2 the tiny size does not hide the OVF, the blur from the first tests done is not exceptional but very good, pasty just right. A perspective for me that is worth much more than the 169 euros I paid for it new. Perfect for portraiture but also reportage being very discreet. Highly recommended

Pros: All

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: I'll be brief: it's small, light, sharp and has a powerful autofocus. If we really want to bring out some defects we can mention the minimum focusing distance which is, as usual for Viltrox, "far" and the lack of tropicalization, but for 180-200€ it seems really dishonest to list them as defects. In fact, I used it during an entire cycling event, to put it to the whip and it didn't disappoint me at all, on the contrary! Pros: Economic. Small. Light. Bright. Very well made. He takes beautiful photos.

Cons: The lens hood reaches the end of its stroke but does not lock with a click, at least in this one it is like this I don't know if I had bad luck or they are all like that. Some uncertainty to focus in critical light conditions.

Opinion: It is part of Viltrox's "Air" series along with the 2.8/20mm and 2.5/40mm. Similar lenses in aesthetics, weight and size, but the 56mm is the only one for APS-C and is the brightest. 84mm equivalent, attached to the Z30 does not look out of place looks like the kit lens. Matte plastic and rough to the touch looks good quality. Metal bayonet (nowadays it must be specified because plastic is rampant) and usb-c connector. It does not have a rear seal, it is not protected from rain and bad weather. 56mm filters. The version for Nikon Z is different from the one for Fujifilm or Sony (the one in the photo to be clear) it is nicer. Manual focusing is facilitated by an excellent voluminous and well-frictioned ring nut. Minimum distance of maf 55cm is not bad for an 84mm although equivalent. Indeed in critical light conditions it can go into crisis but nothing dramatic, neither more nor less than the other two lenses in the kit the 16-50 and the 50-250. It certainly offers much more than what it costs, recommended.

Pros: Small footprint, light weight, optical design (4 ED lenses and 3 HR), bokeh (9-blade rounded diaphragm), quality of materials, USB-C socket for firmware update, price, lens hood included

Cons: Autofocus a bit slow in low light conditions

Opinion: A small jewel of Chinese technology, offered at a ridiculous price compared to the most titled competition. On my Nikon Z50 it fits perfectly with minimal footprint and weight. Excellent sharpness even at T.A. (f/1.7) in the center, nice bokeh, thanks to the 9-blade diaphragm. Despite being proposed as an entry-level lens, the optical scheme is respectable with 4 ED "Low dispersion lenses" and 3 "High refractive index" lenses. Good quality metal bayonet with USB-C socket for any firmware updates and lens hood that, even folded, allows easy manual MF. The only flaw, autofocus is a bit slow in poor lighting conditions, but perfectly manageable. Rating 9.5-10

Pros: Size, weight, price, image quality.

Cons: Maybe maybe a little slow in the first focus.

Opinion: Speaking of a lens that I paid less than 170 euros I could say a lot of yield with very little expense, and in fact it is so. Used in the evening at the amusement park I have very sharp portraits with wonderful blur. Used in the floor for sports photos (light at the minimum terms f 2.0) fast times and more than satisfactory photos. I noticed that it struggles a bit to focus in low light, and I realized that you have to anticipate the shot by half a second and the burst takes it home. I was struck by the quality of the image, the colors it restores are beautiful for me. I mount it on fuji x-t20 and I would not remove it anymore except that I use wider lenses. Curious to try the 20 mm. Well done Viltrox.
