![]() | Nikon AF-S 500mm f/4 D ED II Pros: Sharpness (also with 1.4x and 1.7x), balance of the lens by hand, AF speed, price compared with the 500 f / 4 VR used. Cons: Lack VR Opinion: One senses immediately the optimum balance of the lens, using freehand is a virtue not just! Weighs exactly like the Canon 500 f / 4 is (optical I've had in the past) but Nikon seems much leggero.rnIl weight is always subjective, after years of 500/600 and 400 is 2.8 is I can safely say that the 500 F / 4 Nikon weighs "just" ;-). RNLA sharpness is excellent and can be multiplied or semi-duplicate (1.7x), I'll have to test even with the 2x but will definitely an emergency solution. Goes great on a body demanding as the D800, the detail is impressive even with 1.7x and DX mode 15 mpx.rnL'assenza of VR is not a serious lack, in the Canon disattivavo always on tripod and hand pounds .. .so I do not create big problems! rnih final lens is a great ... if the old Nikon lenses are so sharp I'll have to take by force even the 300 2.8 ED II! rn sent on November 06, 2014 |
![]() | Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Pros: Price with 5 years warranty Polyphoto, extreme sharpness at all focal lengths, construction and weather sealing, stabilizer. Cons: Hood not appropriate zoom ring rather hard, missing a soft bag to protect the lens. Opinion: I do not have a lot of experience with this lens, I have only done a wedding and was amazed at the performance of this lente.Al time I used Nikon D4, later I will update the review also Nikon D800! RnCon 800 euro you will come home a very sharp lens (even at room temperature), bright, and stabilized with a construction professional ... all with a guarantee of 5 years (but applies only to the original purchaser)! I never would have said ... I have always had prejudices against the slow "third", this Tamron has opened my eyes! The equivalent Nikon is just as good, but costs more and is not stabilized ... and it's in a bit less clear. The Canon's second version costs twice the Tamron.rnNon I considered vignetting and distortion as defects, the two are remediable in PS with a few clicks. Not even the weight of a defect, is a professional zoom with constant aperture f / 2.8 and weighs as direct concorrenti.rnL'unica downsides lies in the hood ... is really ridiculous and not at all indeguato the type of lens: I decided to leave it to always be mounted to avoid breakage during assembly / disassembly! rnNon I found the bag to protect the lens, should be included in a lens 800 euro ... but I remedied with a bag Neoprene purchased on Amazon (15 Euros for 4 bags of various sizes) rn sent on November 06, 2014 |
![]() | Canon 6D Pros: Quality and cleanliness of the file price midpoint very sensitive in low light Cons: The AF system for dynamic photo ... not exactly the best! Opinion: I bought this camera about a year ago, I needed a second body to accompany the 1dmark4. The quality of the file is of a high standard and is extremely clean, all at a price rather contenuto.rnL 'AF instead I was not really sure ... we are at the levels of the 5d mark2. Not ideal for photography dynamics, but it is perfect for other genres "reasoned". In fact, the 6d 5d mark 3 is a castrated .... but with a newer sensor and prestazionale.rnLa competition, however, can do better, the Nikon D610 has more AF points, better autofocus system and a burst ... rn sent on June 22, 2014 |
![]() | Tokina AT-X Pro 16-50mm f/2.8 DX Pros: Construction, constant f/2.8, sharpness Cons: Flare, price, extends during zooming Opinion: I had the lens in question for a couple of years, first on the 30d and 7d then. The passage I had to sell due to sensor aps-h and I have yet to replace. Great all-rounder, constant f/2.8 aperture and excellent sharpness. It 's really well built, looks like a tank and the weight of the evidence! The autofocus is fast enough but not like Canon USM, 16mm is a bit 'of distortion and does not digest particularly the sun in the frame. The new price is quite high, it goes directly into confrontation with the Canon 17-40 L but it is an f / 4 and a L series, in used, you can find good prices, unfortunately, is not a bank draft as on 17 -40. Low cost alternatives Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 but the building is not on a par with tokina or the Canon 17-55 f/2.8 stabilized ... but it costs a lot! sent on October 15, 2011 |
![]() | Canon EF 500mm f/4 L IS USM Pros: Construction, excellent quality, can be used freehand Cons: Nothing except the price .... but you must consider that it is a stabilized 500mm F74 L series! Opinion: I replaced the Canon 400 f / 4 DO is the 500 f / 4 is, I needed greater range and the 500mm was an obvious choice. The weight and size can be misleading, the 500 f / 4 is can be used freehand without major problems. Of course it is a featherweight and we must make it a habit but it is doable. The wide handle of the collar facilitates transport by hand, on the contrary of 300 2.8 and 400 DO. The quality is high even with the multiplier, difficult to ask for more. Of series 1 can be duplicated with good results and a focal length of 1300mm ... The AF is fast (even multiplied), but not as much as the Canon 400 DO. sent on October 11, 2011 |
![]() | Canon EF 300mm f/4.0 L IS USM Pros: Sharpness, retractable hood, excellent macro capabilities, size and weight, IS Cons: Does not hold up very well the multiplier, not suitable trapping Opinion: The 300 f / 4 is was my first lens for birds, considering the price and performance seemed an excellent compromise between versatility and quality. From smooth perspective is fantastic, great sharpness already at f / 4. With 1.4x extender I've never been convinced, was taking forever to f / 8 and autofocus slowed down a lot. I think the perspective not suitable for birds, in 95% of cases should be multiplied with obvious repercussions on quality and speed. If you want a 400mm better or much better than the 100-400 a 400 f/5.6. If you need to multiply by a 300mm (not always) is the perspective for you, light and easy to handle with excellent macro capabilities (can be increased with 1,4 x), not to mention the image stabilizer! Also good in sports, can also be useful in the mountains for trekking. sent on September 29, 2011 |
![]() | Canon EF 400mm f/4.0 DO IS USM Pros: Weight and size, excellent sharpness and AF speed can be multiplied without major problems. Cons: High cost, file with little contrast, suffers from the backlight. Opinion: I have always read and heard mixed reviews on this catastrophic lens ..... but the technical characteristics were interesting and I decided to buy it. I wanted a lightweight lens for birds that were multipliable the 300 2.8 though great was duplicated in 90% of cases with obvious repercussions on the quality and speed AF. The 400 f / 4 DO is was the perfect solution for me, could be multiplied and the paper could provide a good AF speed and quality. In practice, all I had read in various forums was fake! And 'no doubt with a view fantastic and unique. It 'compact and weighs very little, excellent sharpness at room temperature and stand well the multiplier. The focus is very fast even with the 1.4x extender. All this has a price, and the Canon 400 DO costs a lot. Suffer from the competition of the Canon 300 2.8 and the bad reputation is perhaps date from the early examples not quite perfect. Of course, there are also downsides, the files have low contrast (correctable in post-production) and suffers backlit. And 'the ideal lens for birds on APSC is nearly 1000mm with quality and speed .... all freehand :) sent on September 24, 2011 |
![]() | Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM Pros: Price, extreme sharpness, weight Cons: Nothing Opinion: The bianchino is the smallest of the Canon 70-200 L series, definitely the best as quality / price ratio! Costs half brother's stabilized, it's up to you to decide if it is to stabilize the price difference :) Going back to the 70-200 f / 4 L, is razor sharp optics with constant aperture f / 4. It 'lightweight and compact, can be multiplied (1.4 x) without major problems of sharpness. The 'f / 4 can be a problem if you plan to shoot in low light, this is the f/2.8 version! ![]() | Canon 30D Pros: Robust, semi-pro features, battery life, value for money, digital noise content. Cons: LCD 2.5 "low resolution, no live view, no sensor cleaning. Opinion: At a cost of 250/300 euro you bring home a semi-professional SLR superior to many new entry-level SLR. The sensor aps-c 8.2 mpx provides excellent file ready to use with digital noise very low. The body is very sturdy, is ergonomically designed with magnesium alloy. The AF system is a typical house of Canon's 9-point AF with center cross-point only (inherited from 20d), only the 40-50d has been updated with 9 cross type points. Is not particularly suited for action photography. Like all technology products feel the weight of years, the monitor is small with little resolution ... also lacks live view, very convenient tool for macro photography. sent on July 28, 2011 |
![]() | Canon 1D Mark III Pros: Building, burst, battery life, AF, workability files, digital noise content, double-cf-sd slot. Cons: Lcd low resolution buffer underrun. Opinion: It 'a series 1 with battery grip and weather sealed body built tough ask for more. Af fast and accurate, the sensor aps-h from 10Mpx file ensures low noise and remarkable recovery in post-production, and the file out of the car is almost ready for use. On the other hand the electronics start to feel the weight of years, the LCD monitor is poorly defined and it is hard to tell if the photo is in focus. Does not support tabs udma, the buffer empties slowly and you can get stuck for a few seconds. The battery lasts a long time (about 2300 shots) but the charger is large and awkward to carry with you. sent on July 27, 2011 |
![]() | Canon 7D Pros: Price, AF system, burst, viewfinder, UDMA Cons: Sensor too dense, af inaccurate with a distant subject, file heavy and not very workable in post-production, digital noise evident. Opinion: It 'a nice SLR but the 18-megapixel sensor has its limits, file heavy and difficult to work with. Af sometimes inaccurate, especially in distant subjects. Value / price, features from series 1 of APSC SLR. With a less dense sensor would be perfect ... a few months ago I replaced it with a 1dmk3 and it's another story. sent on July 11, 2011 |
