![]() | Leica M11 Monochrom Pros: Timeless body, build quality, great file Cons: Lots of... Opinion: Had and resold in a short time, the body is the usual M body, so very nice, no frills and the build quality is excellent, the sensor does its job very well, but in my humble opinion there are many but... The first example purchased, just taken out of the box new, did not click! yes you got it right, it didn't click, immediately replaced at the Leica Store in Turin, the second sample, also new, had a problem with the rear display, in practice ... As soon as it was turned on, no problem, but then if you looked at the photographs by scrolling them and then overheating the screen, whitish halos formed in the upper right corner. This room costs 9600 euros in the list price, at these prices, I expect the maximum and zero problems! obviously I will have been unlucky for sure, but it is unacceptable for a body of this level, let's come to the files: nothing to complain about, very beautiful but... but I realized that, working in post production I got the same results so I said to myself, why keep a body that doesn't make more than other cameras if you work on it in post and moreover with problems that have never been solved? also let's not talk about the many freeze blocks I had! now I wonder, but where is the Leica craftsmanship quality? Quality controls Once certain cameras with certain prices are put on the market, where are they? so I sold it losing very little thanks to its great value retention and I fell back on another brand living very happy and without even a regret! Leica lives on its myth, its glorious history, the invention of the 35mm format, but today's Leica cameras and I refer in particular to digital cameras, are toys for rich children, personally, I do not recommend it also because of its high cost, a cost that does not reflect expectations. sent on November 01, 2024 |
![]() | Hasselblad XCD 90mm f/3.2 Pros: Excellent sharpness and micro contrast from wide aperture, light, very nice and progressive bokeh Cons: cost? but you already know, AF rather slow, not ideal for action photography but it's not its field Opinion: Spectacular optics! absurd sharpness and a very fine micro contrast, fabulous colors as per tradition Hasselblad is a lens that is loved both in and out door portraits, its bokeh is really very buttery and very progressive with a delicious transition of planes. I also had the 80mm f1.9 another great lens but... Rather heavy once engaged, this 90 instead is relatively light and in addition does not overhang forward during focusing, built, like all XCD lenses, very very well entirely in metal and with a very fluid and pasty MAF ring that entices you to use it manually. Obviously it costs, like all XCD glass, but on the other hand it returns breathtaking images. Not recommended for action as the AF is rather slow, but its fields of choice are photography designed as portraits and landscapes, so it doesn't matter. To be purchased with your eyes closed, purse permitting, it gives emotions and creates high addiction. sent on July 23, 2024 |
![]() | Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246) Pros: Uniqueness of the piece, very high quality of the sensor, construction quality in magnesium and solid brass obtained from the solid, ease of use, good battery life. Cons: It is not a car for everyone and its purchase must be valued well given the price, but you know, it is Leica and the price is just a deterrent and not a con. Opinion: Then... I tell you the story of buying this machine... I was coming from a Canon kit to say the least spatial! The darkest lens I had was f2.8 while most of my optics were L-series and all 1.4/1.2 that were entamed on a 1DX body. I also had a Fujifilm X100F that I loved because I used it a lot with the Acros film simulation for black and white. Most of my photos, I converted them into black and white because for me, black and white photography is gorgeous and has a charm of its own, but here they are tastes. That said... I sold everything and landed in the magical World of Leica with this 246 Monochrom, taken used as new in a well-known physical store in my city. What can I say... it was love at the first shot, besides I had never used a Leica M before. The result was that, I found myself not well, but great right away, this car is crazy there is little to do! there are no frills, there are no tangled menus that confuse you and distract you, there are you, her and the pictures, fine. Its sensor is extraordinary and I'll explain why... I tried, with my Fuji X100F and take a photo with the Acros movie simulation, then black and white then, I took the exact same photo with the Monochrom to understand the real difference between the 2 files well... with Fuji you immediately see that it is a converted artifact while with the Monochrom it seems to have taken with a film mounted inside! the half tones are all readable, the shadows open, the black intense and thousands of gray stairs that allow you to appreciate all the nuances of the image, I didn't believe it! I didn't think it was possible, but it really is. I was also one of the sceptics who said and say that this machine is just a commercial gimmick and is limiting, but then rows in hand and sight, I had to think again. I took shots at 10 thousand ISO and the grain that churns out this sensor is really minimal and also pleasant if we want on a black and white photo I really say... you have to see to believe. The construction quality... even here, we are at our best, all solid brass for the caseback and for the upper shell while the bodysuit is made of very robust magnesium, it gives you a feeling of absolute quality, not to mention the matte paint finishes that are brought back to the state of the art. As I wrote in the cons, it is certainly not a machine for everyone, you have to be literally in love with black and white photography otherwise it could also stew in the long term, the maximum would be to be able to combine it with another M body in color. The price... needless to call it a real cons, it is Leica and it is no exception with regard to price, it is a niche product that targets a small part of the market and for this reason it is expensive but I can assure you that it is worth every penny spent. I recommend this machine to those who deeply love black and white and who often shoot in this mode even with color machines to understand each other so if you can afford it take it without reserving, you will hardly be disappointed in relation to the purpose for which it was created. sent on February 12, 2021 |
![]() | Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM Pros: Very sharp from the start, good construction, stabilized, lightweight. Cons: Severe lack of hood which costs 50 Cucuzza and is separately. Opinion: So, I took it with a 5D old because having a 1Ds Mark III, I wanted to have something more 'light to carry giro.rnMi amazed at pisitivo for AF precision, excellent sharpness at the center already at room temperature and a good construction , realized with a good porous plastic material and by good robustness, at least that 'a pare.rnEssendo f2, has a valid blurred indibbuamente, considrando that you can' approach the subject, to 24 centimeters, but the three-dimensionality that offers its big brother f1 .4 is from another planet, as well as the price naturalmente.rnIn summary, a great glass, even better if you buy used, I was lucky enough to find it used as new and original lens hood to 350 euro, highly recommended if you do not find the detachment of the plans and the three-dimensionality of 1.4 very good on the old bodies as 5D and 1DsII and III who maybe can not be sfurttate at high ISO, the stabilizer does its dirty work, and the photo, the more and take home , even in low light. sent on November 17, 2016 |

But ... It should be admitted that suffers high ISO. Opinion: This reflex back in 2007 is still very attuale.rnL'ergonomia today is at the top, as you'd expect from a camera of this kind, is solid and robust build quality with an unparalleled! The AF is just a hair under 5D3 and 1Dx but remains exceptionally rapid and precise short, is a number 1! The fact remains that it is a beautiful day, in the sense that suffers high ISO that remain are usabilissimi to 1600 with a similpellicola grain that does not disturb but ... rnIo I found it as a new 1200 euro bought was never happier , accompanied by a good glass literally rocks! ![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM Pros: optical quality, construction, blurred by fear !, color rendering Cons: Difficult to focus when focus at f1.2, should be calibrated very well in the car with AF end, it goes tamed! Opinion: fantastic optical, 50mm-rounder as well as specialist at the same time for portrait blurred ambientato.rnLo that gives to f1.2 (without the slightest drop of light at the edges) is crazy! with a detachment of incredible plans, three-dimensional as basta.rnVa still managed to tame, focus when focus is really very difficult to f1.2, you cannano many shots, 9 times out of 10 you will turn the bales, but the tenth time this will be 50mm invincible in every respect vista.rnLo'm using on a EOS1 Ds mark III and davero becomes difficult to detach it from the camera body! very special, to possess absolutely perspective for those who love portrait ambientato.rnSegnalo a chromatic aberration TA greenish, rather it makes it to him ... but you can definitely forgive !, HUGE !. sent on July 22, 2016 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G Pros: Compactness, lightness, extreme portability, sharpness at TA and blurred very soft and smooth. Cons: Plasticky (like all new G also PRO) band, what else ... I do not know. Opinion: So ... I bought this with the "snobbish" little too confident because of the reviews read here, I got to have extreme compactness and traasportabilità well ... just grafted on SLR (FF D700) I tried suffered a shot to TA to test sharpness and blur. I tripped on a tripod of course with the use of remote shutter, so I did not touch the reflex, downloaded the file on the Mac I was stunned! optics is already very clear to TA! I do not understand those who complain about little clarity, it is not true! this type of test is performed well, on stand only so 'can' be evaluated well, as regards the blurred too soft, smooth and buttery! really nice. The barrel is certainly plasticky, but also those of PRO-end (I have a 85mm f1.4 AF-S NG) are! for the rest ... it is very portable, do not you feel it mounted it in the backpack, in short, is an optical beautiful that costs little and gives so much whetherin my view, would recommend to anyone who wants to start with a good lens without fainting but also to those looking for quality and portability, absolutely recommended. sent on February 20, 2016 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4 G Pros: Excellent sharpness already TA, compactness and blurry dream. Cons: High price, addictive. Opinion: I just took this goal, just grafted know immediately that it is a perspective of another planet, the quality is very high optical level and you see immediately executing shots at TA blurred is creamy, magical and sharpness is amazing !. It behaves very well even in backlit thanks to the treatment with nano crystals Nikon. The construction of the barrel is not as excellent as the optical quality is of high quality plastic but still plastic and to be a lens of this magnitude, could do better in terms of materials, it must be said that the weight becomes min to the advantage of portability. Price is important, we are at 1600 Cucuzza obviously Nikon, however, the economic sacrifice is absolutely repaid by the outstanding image quality that churns out, any picture made at room temperature is simply magical and it is for this reason that addictive ... Hard to disassembleby reflex if you are fond of photography from portrait. It is a glass for everyone as both price as features in my opinion, it is a view specification aimed to portraiture in particular from the study, it can be difficult to use in other photographic genres. If you are willing to pull out a lot of money and do a lot of photography from portrait / fashion home Nikon better does not exist today, absolutely it recommended. sent on February 19, 2016 |

Cons: Hard to find, perhaps, and I say "perhaps" the weight, because the body of a Pro optics is well balanced. Opinion: Took just 150 shots in assets, performed almost all wide open, that is to say ... the sharpness of science fiction! a scalpel to really microsurgical interventions (I make it a good idea?), has a beautiful fuzzy, pleasant, soft and original about the 9-blade rounded diaphragm is very difficult to use it over the f2 because of the image that returns to apertures that is fantastic! we come to the building ... nothing to do with the corresponding Canon / Nikon, here's metal worked with Classée quality! an elegant barrel if we want to give a definition purely aesthetic but at the same time who looks to the substance and here, of substance there tanta.rnSono was very lucky, on my body (Nikon D700) I have not encountered any problems with front / back focus for Fortunately! and I did not have to do any fine tuning or use dock.rnL'unico defect, so if 'you can define is perhaps the weight, certainly, of bodies is not entry level SLRexactly the best when mounted, and if grafted on bodies semipro / Pro perfectly balances the coupled machine / obiettivo.rnConcludendo, the quality / price is really record-breaking! with less than 800 EUR, we will take home superlative optics that can keep quietly head to the corresponding home f1.4 Canon and Nikon that has a build quality definitely superiore.rnIn end ... not weather sealed? Cons: MAF excessive distance (0.5m), other do not know. Opinion: What about ... Purchase like new with its packaging, just grafted onto D700 I fell in love. rnRealizzato with the best materials and the best professional standards of Nikon, they used to be, when Nikon did things right, then glass and metal. rnCopre superbly major wide angle range that most used to FF are a real lust! The picture quality is high already at room temperature and reach the top from f8 to f11 up, the only flaw is the minimum distance of MAF which is really excessive, but it is a defect that can be forgiven considering the fantastic performance of the lens all in all. rnDa take with your eyes closed, if you find it well maintained below 500 Euros, worth them all and then some. sent on December 27, 2015 |

Cons: There are? really? maybe just maybe the weight and aside from some problems with the front / back focus (is perfect on my Nikon D2X) I could not really look for flaws. Opinion: Well ... I was searching for a fixed 50mm lens. to use on my D2X, machine dated but still respectable, I tried the 2 Nikkor 50mm f1 f1 .4 .8 and then AFS.rnFra 2, in terms of image quality I have not encountered abysmal differences (some , preferably 1.4 AFS) in the end, I was not thrilled, then, I had the opportunity to try this glass, what about ... there are no words to describe it, the building is really good it feels now! but the main attraction is undoubtedly its extraordinary lightness combined with a fast autofocus and silenzioso.rnIl Mine is a DX sensor and then a glass is great for portraits, which is already very, very good wide open and gives fuzzy sublime , almost poetic!. rnHo had the good fortune to take it used in like new condition for 350 coffee, a glass is exceptional I would not trade with anyone else! Opinion: Definitely a good compact, convenient and useful mainly for its Zoom, which allows you to photograph anything well from the retail landscape, also good with Macro Focus already 3 Inches. of distanza.rnSono was positively surprised by the video, really good quality and, thanks to the stabilizer that helps much in shooting, but we come to the mournful notes ... rnIl digital noise is evident already at base ISO (100), the GPS does not convince I find it slow, too slow to fix almost makes you never want to use it and literally drains the battery, by the way, the charger is not dedicated, I mean, the solution adopted is to charge the battery type or smartphone on camera . rnC'è a cable (ridiculous, yes and no long 25 cm) that allows you to recharge the battery so when this runs out, you can not use the camera unless you buy an external charger and a second will be a batteria.rnNon mancaza serious, but if you do not have a charger and a second battery siepiedi.rnSinceramente to you, I had to buy it I would not do! the price is high (329 euros in store, online below 300) I believe that Panasonic / Leica could have done more ', pointing to the image quality is not excellent but ... often disappoints. sent on January 09, 2014 |
