![]() | Nikon Z 24mm f/1.8 S Pros: sharpness over the entire field of view, focusing speed, Cons: at the moment none Opinion: I use it with z7II only for street even if it is a bit too wide. What can I say, absolutely sharp over the entire field of view and apparently for many apertures. Truly a lens with flakes. Focusing with the complicity of the Z7II is quick and quiet, nothing to say. It is a focal length that I have always used as a zoom lens (24-120) but now that I also have the corresponding prime I am definitely satisfied with it. For the rest, the considerations are the same as always on a 24 mm. sent on April 23, 2025 |
![]() | Nikon Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S Pros: Balance, optical quality, speed of action, vibration compensation Cons: Footprint, cost Opinion: It is a great goal, in no uncertain terms. Its definition, its incredible balance, its vibration compensation system and its speed of action make it a super lens that can be used in many contexts not only for photographic hunting. I still have to explore all its features but I have no doubt it is really a great lens. I come from Sigma, a very good lens at a very affordable price but there is no comparison between the two and on the other hand the cost difference between the two is high. sent on April 01, 2025 |
![]() | Nikon Z 35mm f/1.8 S Pros: Sharpness, lightness, micro-contrast, fast focusing, and silent focusing Cons: Maybe the price but it's a great lens Opinion: I use it for street and I never take it off the camera body. It's incredible in the city I do everything coupled with the second generation z7. With the Matrix and the focusing system of the camera it does not miss a beat. It's a delight. Sincerely recommended with the limits of the focal length and the price. I must say, however, that the Z lenses, at least the S ones, are all great lenses. sent on August 17, 2024 |
![]() | Nikon Z 14-30mm f/4 S Pros: small size and optical quality at apertures between 8 and 11 Cons: I haven't found them yet and I don't think I'll find them Opinion: To tell the truth, after having the 14-24 2.8 for the SLR when I got this lens with the z7II I cried out for a miracle. Then I also used it for street and I found myself very very well in it. I put it in my backpack and use it a lot. On a short expedition to Dorset and a holiday in the Scottish Highlands last year I never took it off the camera and I was impressed: excellent optical performance, waterproofing (and how much was needed in Great Britain) and the possibility of mounting a 100 mm holder with 100 mm plate filters. A boon for landscape photography and a significant saving. I'm getting ready to go to Madeira as well and I don't think I'll ever take it off the car. What can I say, in my opinion it is one of the most successful lenses for the use for which I intended it. sent on July 22, 2024 |
![]() | Nikon Z7 II Pros: Sensor, Portability, Dynamic Range, Menu, Focus Area Cons: None at the moment Opinion: Stunning high-performance machine in a decidedly lightweight body. I come from the d850, great machine, but a bit mature. The fast and silent focusing, the ability to focus on every subject in the field of view for the entire width of the display is extraordinary, the menu has even improved, the possibility of recharging without taking out the batteries, the extension of shutter speeds for long exposures are just some of the improvements compared to reflex cameras. The ergonomics are those of Nikon, there is no other brand like it. I haven't stressed her out as much as it should be yet, but I plan to do it soon. A beautiful product and, I repeat, in a small body. Sounds great to me. P.S. I forgot the i button: great. It allows you to change fundamental parameters during shooting without entering the menu. sent on May 12, 2023 |
![]() | Olympus OM-1 Pros: Baby, it always worked, great optics Cons: Everything that is essential today of digital and that was not there then Opinion: Small and sturdy, you could stick it anywhere. I don't have the myth of analogs because the extreme convenience of developing your own files at home is priceless. However, I have many beautiful memories and a bad, definitive one: they entered my house and stole it with the OM4 and three Zuiko optics. I had just bought the OM4 mythical machine with an exposure meter that allowed to store up to 8 spot sizes. I wouldn't go back but I'd like to have it on my hands to play with it a little bit. sent on May 31, 2021 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S 24-120mm f/4 G ED VR Pros: versatile, fast enough and sharp enough, an irreplaceable all-rounder Cons: vignette a little bit and the flare Opinion: He's my handyman. It is not replaceable and recently gained even more importance to me when I saw in a magazine the comparative evidence for the sharpness between this and the noble 24 - 70 2.8: incredibly they were at absolutely comparable levels! Between f5.6 and f11 the points for 24-120 were between 1800 and 2200 while for 24-70 they were between 1700 and 2400. Fringing is higher in 24-70 and the distortions of the latter are not lower than those of 24-120. All written on N-photography n 98. By the way, neither solved the D850. The vignette is easily corrected with LR while for the flare there is little to do and you have to act accordingly. Finally, the focal range is unique in the panorama of all-diaphragm handy zooms. It's a bit old-fashioned as a project when it comes to stabilization but it's at very affordable prices. Ps. I forgot: it has 9 slats sent on June 02, 2020 |
![]() | Nikon D850 Pros: everything, nothing excluded Cons: Nothing Opinion: Maybe there's something negative, but I didn't find it. It was the SLR I was waiting for. Every time I take a shot that I like I tell myself ... that's why I bought it! Crosshairs: Incredible; autofocus: a bomb; resolution: indescribable; perfect balance; touchscreen: excellent. The latter, with the rotating screen allows you to make shots that would otherwise be impossible. Absolutely ergonomic and the image quality is definitely superior to what I've been through on my hands to date. Quoto Luca Guido: it's the ultimate reflex (for now) sent on March 18, 2020 |
![]() | Nikon 1 V3 Pros: The robustness, the incredible speed of focus, the touchscreen, the clarity of the menu, the weight Cons: The size of the sensor, the cost, the raw Opinion: I took for the first time a mirrorless buying the V3 and I was very impressed. I am a nikonist since ever and I do not understand why Nikon does not dedicate to these cameras the due interest. The weight is fantastic, the yield is excellent and the autofocus is a real miracle. I also bought the FT Mount Ring to mount the FF lenses and...... I found myself a tele from 810 mm F4 with the 300 F4 AF-S, or a zoom 189-540 F4 AF-S VR (70-200 AF-S VR f4)... not to be believed!! And with the 300 AF-S which is certainly not a lightning war the focus is immediate. Files in raw Lavorabilissimi and everything, in good substance, positive. I did not believe in that by machines of this size I expected a perceptible delay of the response to the press of the shutter. As a neo, in my opinion, there are raw that are not 14 bit and this is perhaps the only downside I have encountered. In essence it's a bomb. sent on May 05, 2018 |
![]() | Nikon AF 80-200 f/2.8 ED D Pros: Cromie, good balance, sharpness, great AF though not USM Cons: lack of stabilizer Opinion: I sold him a while ago with great pain because I preferred his younger brother (f4) but infinitely more technologically advanced. He accompanied me wherever he was, he was with me in Morocco, USA, Korea, jazz concerts, etc. wherever I got the chance to bring me the camera. It was my favorite target. Great for those who want a professional lens, excellent, indestructible chromatic rendering (and needs 2.8). sent on November 01, 2017 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/4 G ED VR Pros: Weight, sharpness, autofocus Cons: nobody Opinion: I did a great purchase and if you do not need the 2.8 diaphragm is the best choice. It does not weigh anything and duplicate it with TC20III almost completely retains its speed. I do not know its output yet with the multiplier but it's a fact that you have a 140-400 in the bag. It is used at acceptable prices. The hood is not much but I come from a 80-200 2.8 Nikon AF-D with two hinges: the 70-200 just bought seems to have all the more. sent on October 22, 2017 |
