sigma_19dnSigma 19mm f/2.8 DN

Pros: Sharpness, price

Cons: Apart from the opening, I have to think about it...

Opinion: As already mentioned for the 60mm of the same series, I do not know why Sigma has branded these lenses (including 30mm) as Art. Famously the fixed Art are f/1.4 as in fact the Contemporary series... Boh. That said, the 19mm is a good compact, light lens, with a sufficiently fast and above all quiet af. It is not stabilized but is not a problem as sensor stabilization (Lumix Gx80) is exploited. The very minimal design I like and goes pretty well with the machine I use. The choice of the smooth dial is as questionable as the design... may like it as not but I personally do not bother, especially because used automatically, I do not need to rotate it. They could still put some tactile references... Just right for... Pretty sharp even at TA Unlike the 60mm that immediately hit me and I will never sell it, the 19mm still has to give me the same feeling, maybe because it's only 2.8? I like the focal as well as the colors and sharpness. It's definitely not the best you'll find on the market, especially when compared with the 20mm Panasonic and the 17mm Olympus that have more than one brightness stop but the value for money can justify buying it.

sigma_60dnSigma 60mm f/2.8 DN

Pros: Sharpness, weight, price

Cons: I honestly don't know

Opinion: I'm not sure it's a real Art (like the 30 f/1.4) but I have to say that this lens never disappoints me. Sharp without exaggerating, precise, beautiful blurry and of course weighs practically nothing. It's not stabilized, but using it on Gx80, I take advantage of the machine's. The design I like, very minimal, although actually on the ring they could put some tactile reference, although it would only serve in case of manual maf. As value for money I don't think there's any better and to make portraits goes great. On m4/3 it's definitely a bomb.

nikon_50_f1-8gNikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G

Pros: Weight. opening, cost

Cons: Af Unreliable

Opinion: It's not much that I use this lens that fortunately I was given... I appreciate the weight, image quality and speed of the autofocus but unfortunately not the reliability of the result. I do not know if it is my model that has some problems but in the rare uses I am forced to make several shots in the hope that the maf is right and of course this forces me to limit its use and to think about replacing it with something more serious. But when "it's in the day", the result is more than satisfactory, both as sharp and as a detachment of the floors. Would recommend? Definitely as a start it is worth it but for a higher level it is better to invest something more.

panasonic_12-60oisPanasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS

Pros: Focal excursion, weight, silent

Cons: at about 40mm is already at f/5.6

Opinion: I took this lens to replace the 12-32 and have a greater versatility of use without having to carry other lenses around, especially in those situations where there is no time and way to replace the goals. Leaving aside the qualities already listed, to which I can just add a greater and constant image quality on all the focal points compared to the 12-32, I find rather annoying that it will close to f/5.6 already at just over 40mm. I'm not saying it had to get to 60mm, but it wasn't that sudden either. Taken used at a good price, I definitely wouldn't buy it again.

panasonic_gx80_gx85Panasonic GX80 / GX85

Pros: Versatility & durability, size, performance, stability, personalization, wifi control from smartphone/tablet

Cons: weight, battery life, quality of jpg questionable, tilting monitor only horizontally, dispersive, menu options to be reviewed.

Opinion: I bought this machine confiding in opinion of others with subsequent reading of specifications and tests on specialized sites. I confess that I had never considered the Panasonic as a camera and especially as understudy to Nikon and I admit that it was a revelation. The machine has its size quite compact but I was impressed by the weight, in my opinion, is felt greatly if put in the pocket of a coat (aim). Though a feeling of strength. The configuration menu is extensive and offers many customization but I think this is distracting and it becomes difficult to easily find the items you are looking for perhaps with some haste. Was then cataloged, grouped by categories styled Nikon, so as to be more quick reference. Eight function keys (physical and 4 4 touch) to which you can assign different operations, plus a quick menu to group some functions to avoid invoking the Setup menu. So far so ok but I noticed it is missing an entry on flash type choice (manual or ttl) that must be sought in the menu. I find this a bit of a limit as well as the function of moving the focus point by using buttons on the joystick. Once activated, the same keys lose their original functions that can be restored only by disabling it. Decidedly uncomfortable. The quality of the jpg directly on camera honestly blown away negatively because it is kneaded with loss of detail, despite the noise reduction has been cleared. Probably is better with photos taken in bright light. I expected a lot more but I consider it a problem almost marginal since only shooting in raw. Definitely for those who use only or even the jpg, could become a problem. The battery while entering at full capacity, does not offer a particularly long autonomy, especially when you begin to use wi-fi and/or flash. Recommended the purchase of at least a second battery with external battery (not supplied). The tilting monitor only on a Board I find it limiting, especially since in one direction, has a very limited rotation. However it is clearly designed for the video makers but who does photography realizes soon limits on vertical picture. Moving on to the positives, for the price paid, I took a car that lets me no matter what. The bolt that comes at 1/16000, focus peaking, manual focus (wanting), af point size, customizing point af, af pixel-precise, double ring, burst at 6 fps from 100 to iso 25600 in raw, AE/AF Lock button customizable for the AF-ON ... so many possibilities, all together, which I did not find the D7100, much less in the D610. All this leads me to use more and more only Gx80, leaving in his backpack the D610. The photo quality even impressed me and I must say that as well at high ISO can return the results more than acceptable, of course with due caution and corrections in post. Paired of good lenses without having to spend not necessarily numbers, quality of course rises and that makes me even more willing to use this machine. Don't mention the video because it's something that just doesn't interest me

nikon_d610Nikon D610

Pros: Sensor, high ISO strength

Cons: AF, AF points arrangement, buttons layout and programming, handle

Opinion: I often shoot at high ISO and on APS-C it becomes a problem, unless you have machines of a certain level (D500). So I decided to take the D610 because I have heard very well of its sensor and the quality of the files and in fact I had no surprise under this point of view, indeed, the details are clearly visible even at 5000 ISO. However it depends very much on the intended use of the photo but certainly looking at full resolution from a distance of about 50 cm (monitor) is not really the best way to appreciate the quality. Excellent possibility of recovery from underexposure. rnL'af is not really performing in cases of difficult light but with a bright lens you could earn something. I have used it on several occasions and conditions and in any case I have always taken photos home without too much effort. 39 points at the center that do not make much sense but that still seem to be a feature of the Full Frame. In fact, looking at the arrangement on top machines like the 750 or the Serie 8xx, there is not much difference despite having more. Certainly for those who come from APS-c with a 7100, initially it is definitely unsettling.rnI keys ... Nikon decided to give priority to editing on camera, even devoting a key ... Already this is an absolutely negative aspect , according to my point of view, because I consider it a decidedly useless function. Not content with this, it is not possible to change this setting but the thing even more depressing is that the same identical function is activated even when you press the "OK" key of the cursor, when you view the photos, and even this you can not change . So two identical functions on two different keys that can not be programmed ... Basically on the machine I have two keys that I can not use, and this I consider a real idiocy because it would take a firmware update (which by now there will not be, given the age of the car) to solve the problem. DAs I understand, however, the programming department of Nikon has some problem in creating something that has a sensible logic ... rnThe handle is not particularly uncomfortable but for me it is not enough because the little finger is going to end up under the body and over long sessions it suffers. So I bought a battery grip to better balance everything. But this is an absolutely subjective aspect because it depends on the size of the hand. All in all, it is an excellent machine that produces excellent files. Some flaws at the operational level but nothing that can limit the photographer. Given the price, it is a machine that is worth buying.
