Pros: Optical and mechanical quality, weight, second-hand price.

Cons: Some small internal reflections, manual focus ring.

Opinion: My first lens for the Em1, chosen for hiking use, paid less than 200 euros at the end of 2023. I think it's the best cheap zoom I've ever had. I confirm the many merits already written in previous reviews, personally the only things I didn't like are some small internal reflections that peep out in the city nights and the MF ring very small and attached to the zoom ring: when you use it it is easy to touch the latter with your hands. However, they are two forgivable flaws from a perspective of this kind. The feeling of solidity is so surprising: it is all plastic but the small size makes it solid, and the dials are both very fluid. I replaced it with the Zuiko 12-40 f2.8 because of the EM1 mark1 MAF that suffers a lot from the dark. Having a couple of extra stops helps a lot both in AF and MF but, I repeat, it is a specific problem of the camera, not of this lens. It would not make much sense to compare the Pana to the professional Zuiko however I guarantee you that in terms of sharpness they are equivalent and, especially on excursions, I happen to regret it.

Pros: much more than I expected...

Cons: much less than I expected...

Opinion: .. it was really a coincidence that I came across this lens, the story starts from the fact that I was looking for a second G 80 Pana body. that I found... I would say a real deal, little used, complete with box and booklet, just out of warranty, then 4 batteries, battery grip... and.. and.. the 12/60...all practically at the price of the camera body alone. I'll sell it immediately, I said to myself, I'll get something.... Stories... I started using it and I got a taste for it! I state that I already have the fantastic Oly 12/40...but those extra 20 mm, when you go out with only one lens... make the difference! In my review notes of the Oly in fact I denounced that the only 'flaw' was the short extension which was sometimes a limit. Here, now I'm keeping this and even if we know the performance comparison has no history, I'm unexpectedly reaping satisfaction... at a low price! Stabilized (double with the Pana body), tropicalized, really light, it will sometimes take the place of the legendary Pana 14/140 that I will never sell. For a kit lens I would say that it is more than satisfactory. vote above 9.

Pros: Sharp, ultra-light and precise. More than decent construction

Cons: The brightness, but you know that even before you buy...

Opinion: An amazing optic, it costs a trifle, yet it is built quite well. It's the "poor" version of the more famous PanaLeica, but brightness and build quality aside, I don't really know how much the gap is proportionate to the price. It's sharp at all focal lengths, excellent even in the image edges where often the kit lenses collapse miserably, it's very light, in short, for 200 euros what more can you expect. The focal range is also very successful, covering 90% of what you can ask for from a handyman. The double stabilization is perfect for those who have a Panasonic body. If we really want to find a flaw in it, vignette at the extreme edges with the widest focal lengths.

Pros: Lightweight, sharp, stabilized, works in tandem with the sensor stabilizer (Dual Is) fast and silent AF, tropicalized, solid construction, metal body mount. With M4/3 24/120

Cons: Call it an optical kit, and if you really want, the price in buying it separately, but you can find it used for about € 200 and even less.

Opinion: A well-made all-rounder optic, often underestimated because it is sold in kits, but in my opinion it is worth all the money spent, I had two as I had bought two Lumix bodies, one of the two put on sale in a flea market and sold within a couple of hours. Very sharp, and having the double stabilization it compensates with the shutter speed without raising the ISO, in videos it is very silent in the AF. What can I say, I'm holding on to the second specimen. ?

Pros: weight, size, price, (double) stabilization, perfect focal range

Cons: Given the price, none.

Opinion: Let's start from the bottom: it's not a bright optic, period. For the rest, only merits: it is small and very light, plasticky but well built and tropicalized, it covers a fabulous focal range (24-120mm eq.), it focuses very close and has stabilization, which on compatible Panasonic bodies becomes double. Generally good resolution (better wide side).
