canon_eos_rCanon EOS R

Pros: Great RAW files, compact and solid body, viewfinder, AF, articulated LCD, 30mpx, sensor cover curtain, ergonomics, good dynamic range, price(2023)

Cons: For the use I make of it ... none, for the rest.... single slot, burst, video compartment, touch bar, no IBIS

Opinion: We are obviously talking about a room from a few years ago, and today there is better on the market ... definitely, but for me as an amateur photographer, and I come from a 6D, and previously from 5D2, the jump was huge. I shoot mainly landscape and portraits, and I must say that in these areas I evaluate the R an excellent camera, sensor, AF (with latest firmware), EVF, ISO seal, ergonomics, menu, adjustable screen, feeling, and customization keys in pure Canon style. The dynamic range is more than satisfactory, the recovery margins on lights / shadows allow a good margin of work, I am not interested in 4stop recoveries to evaluate the quality of a sensor, a shot under / overexposed 4stop must be trashed ... Period, I leave the tests in this regard to laboratory mice. Downsides, of course the R is not stabilized, it only has a single memory slot, the burst is slow, the video compartment is not up to par... but I would like to break a spear in favor of the hated touchbar, I have set the ISO sensitivity and I must say that I find cmq very comfortable, of course ... a nice 5D4-style joystick would have been so much better. In conclusion, at the price that can be found today (2023) as long as you avoid specific photographic genres, sports, birds, action, mainly, can still give great images. I use it at the moment still with EF lenses via adapter and compatibility is perfect, as soon as possible I will try some native RF lens, cmq for now I am more than satisfied with the purchase, calculating that I was very skeptical about the transition to the ML world, after years of using the SLR ...

sony_a6000Sony A6000

Pros: Excellent arw files, compactness, quality / price, af

Cons: Battery, viewfinder, jpeg, noise already evident from 800iso

Opinion: Camera with an exceptional q/p ratio, the ARW that generates the good sensor are workable, and with a dynamic range more than decent, of course... By using good optics, you can take home beautiful images. I use it exclusively for landscape combined with the Sony 10/18 f/4 OSS, and 'the perfect combo, compactness and weights transportable in a mini handbag ... for light outputs is what it takes, not to carry the heavy FF Canon kit on your shoulders. Everyone is talking about the messy and unintuitive Sony menu... mah, I come from Canon and it does not seem so bad, just read the manual ... and it is usable and clear. Good A / F and also good B / W, while the viewfinder is certainly not the best, very limited battery life you need to have at least a couple of spare to have a good autonomy. As mentioned in the cons the management of the iso is quite limited, cmq for the rest at the price that can be found in the used is a great choice for those who want to travel light and have a good quality of ARW files, for those who shoot exclusively in Jpeg instead I do not recommend

samyang_12_f2ncsSamyang 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS

Pros: Weight, Dimensions, Overall optical yield, Price, Possibility to mount filters (67mm)

Cons: Some flare, "Resistance" in poor backlight

Opinion: Calculating the price certainly can not expect the optical yield of wide-angle lenses of another price range. But not for this, the lens is of good construction with minimal dimensions and weight, I use it with Sony A6000 and the combo I find very good for image quality and compactness. Some AC with open diaphragms, but for the use I make of it, exclusively landscape on easel, (I have never dropped below f / 5.6), does not present problems. What instead turns out to be problematic, is when you shoot against the light with the sun in the frame, unfortunately the coating of the front lens does not allow strong backlight, and often generates some halo / flare ... unlike what is said, the distance scale on my copy is perfect, perhaps because having taken it used I had the opportunity to test it well before buying it, the sharpness is very good between f / 8 and f / 11. The thing that I find cmq very important is the possibility of mounting filters with 67mm thread, in the end with a cost of 160 € (used) you can take home good images, difficult to ask for more ....

sigma_24_f1-4artSigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Pros: Sharpness, three-dimensionality, construction

Cons: Weight, TA AF, vignetting, soft up to f/2, versatility, topicalization

Opinion: Optics remarkable as sharpness and three-dimensionality, purchased for coupled, landscape and night photos gave me some nice satisfactions, but after some time I realized that as a focal point it was a bit narrow (at least for my taste). Unfortunately the versatility of a zoom lens in the landscape is felt, often in certain situations where I could move little I was often too short or long ... perhaps its use and more for Reportage, also given the brightness that allows you to shoot even with critical light with freehand ... cmq I replaced it with the 16/35L, it's been a few years and honestly I don't miss it.... it is cmq a well built optics in line like the whole Art series, although I am not a lover of Sigma I consider it an excellent lens, the AF have already said who preceded me

canon_135_f2Canon EF 135mm f/2.0 L USM

Pros: Unmistakable yield, AF, Colors, Blurred, Size/Weight, Optical Quality....

Cons: Nothing to declare....

Opinion: Incredible lens, for the portrait has an immediately recognizable and unique stamp, but I do not want to add what already said by those who preceded me.... I was lucky through a friend here on Juza to try 85L 1.2 II and this "jewel" on 135L, without taking anything away from the Big One.... fabulous optics, the 135L bewitched me. Bought and tried, it did not convince me at the beginning... then it was immediately love, maybe as a focal is a little long (in some cases) but just take a little measures, and where there is the possibility to move and have space, gives incredible shots, the AF also on my 6D is responsive and precise. I'm just a fan, but you can immediately understand the quality of this lens... just open a file, and you'll be blown away.... try to believe !!!! For a portraitist it's a lens to have... Point!!!!

canon_100dCanon 100D

Pros: Footprint, manageability, good RAW files, price, Touch, AF, excellent entry level...

Cons: Plasticosa, non-optimal grip, Jpeg, slightly restrictive Iso

Opinion: I have this little SLR for a couple of years, bought to support a FF system always Canon, so I tried "good" optical and the sensor output is cmq satisfactory. The purchase was motivated especially when you do not want to bring the heavy FF kit, often in view in European cities with the 24 2.8 STM and the 50 1.8 stm, you bring home good files, with really minimal footprints... and obvious that it is an entry level and is a little limited , but it has everything you need. The use of a little ' luminous optics helps not to balance the gap of an ISO not exceptional... for the rest at the price that can be found in the used is a good choice for those who want to have always at hand a "discreet" small reflex...

canon_70-200_f4Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM

Pros: AF, weight, construction, sharpness, colors, general yield...

Cons: Lens hood

Opinion: I have this optics for a couple of years, and I can only talk about it bene...su FF is a great lens for portraits and landscape, sharp and precise the AF, frankly I have never felt the lack of is, just keep the shutter speeds right depending on the focal that you use , the zoom does not extend and this is very important to prevent dust inside the lenses, also for this reason I have never used the cumbersome lens hood, using it almost always from the 100mm in on the same barrel acts a bit from "Lens hood", for the consequent Return of the lens in its interno...su APSC the yield is always very good, even if I find it a little tight and a little less versatile comparing it on FF (at least for me), cmq the value for money is really great, in the used with about 350/400caffè you bring home a Mrs. Lens...

canon_17-40Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM

Pros: Sharpness, robustness, AF, Weight / Dimensions, Good flare resistance

Cons: Distortion 17mm, edges TA

Opinion: After the release of 16/35 IS f / 4, this light according to many now seems on Sunset Boulevard ... in my opinion, is still holding bench, calculating the range quality / price .... was my partner travel is on FF that APS-C, and has been able to give great satisfaction small, colors and sharpness are excellent from f / 8 to f / 16, a TA edges are a bit 'mixed, but for the use that I do not matter ... to the landscape on the stand at an optical aperture closed is still a good standard, resistance to backlighting and side flare is great, personally I feel that the price is now used vehicle is still a good buy.
