![]() | Nikon Z8 Pros: Ergonomics, viewfinder, low iso files Cons: Underperforming battery, embarrassing high iso hold Opinion: I bought it and resold it after a very short time. A nice camera with finally a high-performance af, even if I didn't need it to be so lightning fast for the use I make of it. As I said, the high ISO sealing, and by high ISO I mean above 1600/3200, is embarrassing to say the least. Muddy files (used with the 24-70 f2.8/ the 50mm f1.8 and the 70-200 f4) and not very detailed. It's really unbelievable that for the cost they didn't improve the sensor. Which may be 45mpx ok, but it can't perform so badly in low-light situations. Even the low-light AF is not performing. The rest, although good and improved, has no value in the face of such a poor quality of the files above 1600/3200. Rating 4,5/10 sent on May 21, 2024 |
![]() | Voigtlander Apo-Lanthar 50mm f/2 Aspherical Pros: Sharpness, smoothness of the maf ring, cost Cons: Lacks lens hood Opinion: For Leica M in use with Leica M10. An absolutely unmatched lens if not (perhaps) by the Leica with the same characteristics but with a prohibitive price (€ 8,300). At f2 it is sharp in the center and at the edges in the same way. Impeccable construction, very fluid Maf bezel. Beautiful detachment of the floors. Incredibly competitive cost. For those who love this focal length there is no equal. ![]() | Sony A7 IV Pros: Good file quality, operating speed. Maf very fast and precise. Ibis good side photo Cons: Articulated display, iso seal, poor viewfinder resolution, ergonomics, value for money, non-performing ibis video side. Like all of them, it doesn't have backlit keys. Level does not specify. Menu, although improved in this model, is still mentally ill. Opinion: I state that I only take pictures. Purchased in the worst period at the price of 2,650, I replaced a Canon r6 that had limits especially with regard to mgpx and the cost of the optics (excellent RF but cost a stone and there are few third-party optics). I found myself worse because the handle is really uncomfortable. The little finger and a little of the ring finger come out. Which unbalances the camera at the bottom especially by combining important optics. I partially solved with an L-plate of the smallrig. The Evf for a machine of that cost is really poor and even the adjustment of the diopters does not seem precise to me. In low light we are really at embarrassing levels. The internal level when I open the files from Lr is always starred. The totally articulated display for someone like me who only takes pictures, is uncomfortable. It forces you to do a lot more maneuvers. Being then very far from the optics makes the framing difficult (other than rangefinder). The zipper also does not seem to give a feeling of solidity. The high iso tightness is not good. Absolutely. And it is already perceived immediately above 2000. The sensor on the other hand, under normal conditions returns excellent images. The file has good workability but does not excel. The operating speed is remarkable, the burst is good but you have to use v90 cards, otherwise it decreases. Despite having two slots, one of which is hybrid for Cf Express type A (very expensive and that I did not buy), if one of the two is slower, even the fastest one adapts to the speed of the slowest ... In short, an all-round machine that does not excel in anything. Sony, a bit like all the others, has not yet guessed that there are things that an amateur photographer would appreciate. First of all, ergonomics. Holding these little bricks in your hand is uncomfortable. For someone who has medium-sized hands upwards, he is forced to mount supports for the little finger and part of the hand. If you don't, with a bit long shooting sessions you find yourself with wrist pain. The hand tends to compensate for the weight that unbalances the camera forward due to the weight of the optics. Second, the display... And here I draw a pitiful veil. According to these engineers we have all become videomakers... 6k, 8k... direction to Kubrick... and then we see everything from mobile phones... Plus with cropped sensor and a poor Ibis. I assume that videomakers or bloggers if anything will take the S series or other models of competitors, I do not understand the obstinacy for these hybrid machines and these gullwing displays. Ok there is the A7r... but it costs almost twice as much to have a thousand million megapixels often useless... Third thing... and light up the keys... they also had the Nokia 3310 a few decades ago ... For me a machine highly overrated compared to the cost. It's a good car, for heaven's sake. But it has big limitations. Limits that over the years have not improved, to the detriment of bursts, sniper focus, and millions of absolutely useless pixels. According to them we have all become directors, we all have 6k televisions, we print photos from billboards and we are all ornithologists... Sony has been good at creating a practically infinite optical park to which it has cleverly flanked the third-party optics (even if there are no pancakes and the restyling are all the prerogative of the G and GM series and the average cost is rising considerably). I would say that the extra value (for a photographer who does not make videos) of this brand is 90% for this reason. The optics of the GM series, especially the latest are remarkable. The camera project, in my opinion, is not following the evolution of optics. The level is only pure technology. So many numbers, but the substance is not in step with it. Ultimately for me it's a 7/10 machine sent on December 14, 2022 |
![]() | Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM Pros: General build quality - maf speed - quietness - stabilization - absolute sharpness - aesthetically beautiful Cons: Weight Opinion: Absolutely the best 24-70 f2.8 ever owned, extreme sharpness at all apertures. There is not much to add. Before buying it I saw comparative tests with the counterpart ef L ii with which it beats well. But on a general level it is superior to all openings especially at the edges where it reaches an unparalleled definition. The sharpness is very high but never of the "electronic" type. And that's where it really makes the difference. It is a sharp, clean but non-invasive and artifact file. The weight is felt on the Mirrorless and clearly unbalances the weight forward and after a while tired. But it is not necessarily a bad thing about the lens, but about the ergonomics of the machine in my opinion. This consideration, unfortunately, applies to this objective as for all those of a certain weight and value. The additional bezel is a plus but for where it is placed it is inconvenient, in my opinion. Had they put it immediately after the attack it would have been perfect and could have been used in an "analog" way assigning it the function of the openings. Absolutely recommended. 10/10 sent on April 08, 2022 |
![]() | Canon F-1 Pros: Absolutely reliable machine, very robust body, excellent and bright viewfinder, cushioned shot, crazy materials Cons: Nobody Opinion: Purchased in 2021 for my great passion for analog photography. Shooting mainly in medium format. Pentax 645, Pentax 67, Hasselblad 500cm. I was looking for a 35mm machine. Where everyone else had let me down, this is really another planet. The materials are crazy it seems to have been painted a matte gunmetal black. I look at it sometimes and I'm there to aim for the perfection of the rings, of the absurd materials. If for those like me who have gone back in time and want to invest in an eternal 35mm take one in good condition if you can. It's absolutely exciting just to hold in your hand. Almost a waste to use it. Mine is kept so well that I'm thinking of taking a forklift and keeping this one like that. For exhibition. Canon has made a miracle of engineering beauty and solidity. The viewfinder is very bright it seems there is a farò inside. Looking inside it seems to be brighter than the same scene you are looking at. To have... absolutely exciting sent on September 29, 2021 |
![]() | Nikon D700 Pros: Build quality, aesthetics, beautiful files Cons: Nobody Opinion: I also find myself commenting on this milestone of photography. I've owned a lot of modern SLRs. Arriving at the Nikon d810 I stopped. I also went through Mirrorless I owned Sony (ff) and Fuji (apsc). It makes me smile that someone comments the video part of any Reflex. I've always thought of it as a honestly. No one makes videos with Reflex machines... so for me the function should be really inhibited (I have seen comparisons between iphone and Red to make pale.. red...). Y with this necessary premise, I, like some of you, found myself buying it for a second time. Taken sold and re-bought. I shoot mainly in analog (Pentax 67 and 645, Hasselblad 500cm) and this is the machine that comes closest to that concept. The sensor was very successful. The colors are mind-blowing. The iso... boh it will be that I reason as if I had a film... I keep them down as much as I can. If it is a static subject easel and I extend the exposure. Otherwise I try to illuminate if possible... It's a beautiful car aesthetically, really beautiful. Bright viewfinder, lightning autofocus, beautiful files. I currently have a 24-70 f2.8 Tamron attached to her. Perfect eh... but as soon as I can I take a 35mm so I also use it with the Fe2. Take it if you take pictures, if you have a concept of real photography. Whose only taste is to find a beautiful photo to do without having to exceed in the crop (better frame or look for a zoom if anything). It's a camera! You won't find (at least I haven't found it yet) a car that takes better photos than this... for concept, colors, sensor density etc... If you have to make videos, taking an iphone from the 11th onwards are unbeatable... If you make videos professionally you will hardly ever get a REFLEX... that's why I often smile at those who put it as a pro/con... Grade 10/10 sent on November 14, 2020 |
![]() | Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM Pros: sharpness, value for money, lightweight, filters 77 Cons: nothing special to report Opinion: great lens for landscapes, coupled to 6d produces very sharp images at all focal lengths. The weight is contained. Having already filters from 77 found it very comfortable fit as the most common. At 16 mm the distortion is evident, but nothing you can not fix in PP. Clear that to 16 mm no lens does not distort and is quite normal. rnOttima stabilization as well as maf very fast and silent General precisa.rnIn a great lens at that stage it benefits from the cashback which is good. rnObbiettivo reference in its class rnrnrnrn sent on June 02, 2016 |
![]() | Fujifilm XF 18-55 f/2.8-4R LM OIS Pros: Quality 'good considering the cost of optics, stabilization, price, manageability, handyman Cons: I've encountered so far considering we're talking about a view from kit Opinion: I recently purchased a xt-1 with this light kit. For now we are quite satisfied. The autofocus is fast colors are quite faithful to the original. Has the lens hood supplied and the sharpness is good (I posted a photo in my gallery). Although the nitidizza was slightly increased in the process of PP. With an adapter 58 to 77mm I could safely use the filters that I had already '.
