Pros: Image quality, stabilization, overall handling

Cons: ISO wheel could be more useful than it is

Opinion: I bought this camera as a successor to the ageing Df, so the standard was very high. I sold back the Z6ii that was nice but not as endearing. Image quality is definitely better than with the Z6, and more or less at the level of the Df (best camera ever, I you ask me - I mostly use MF prime lenses). While I could use the Df up to 12800 ISO with sensible de-noising (25600 in B&W); the Z6ii was no better except that the stabilizer allowed you to use lower ISOs, sometimes. With the Zf I do not even care about de-noising any more. The noise just looks like "grain" from the film era and disturbs much less. I bought the camera online from Nikon and it came with a complimentary grip that I finally adopted, despite the slight increase in weight and bulk. My only (slight) disappointment is the ISO control wheel; it does not allow to engage or disengage Auto ISO. If it did, I'd wish use the ISO setting as the maximum value. For reference, and since D700 times, I set aperture for controlling depth of field (and aberrations), speed for subject freezing (or unfreezing), exposure compensation for general tonality, and auto ISO for correct exposure under the aforementioned constraints... hence my (minor) rant. Still, in this unperfect world, it's a 10 out of 10. P.S. while I mostly use manual lenses (Canon FD, Nikon F) on adapters, some Z lenses are cool, esp. the excellent 24-120 and the modest, but suprizingly good 40/2. I dared to shoot an entire graduation party with the latter, only using "digital zooming" on post-processing, with great success.

Pros: Beautiful, vintage look that hides great technology and makes you explode the desire to shoot with a leap into the past

Cons: None, even the ergonomics are solved well with the dedicated grip

Opinion: I finally got it (even if used). I had my beloved Df for 10 long years, reluctantly sold in 2024. I've had it for a few days, beautiful as its little sister Reflex, but technologically much more advanced and improved also in the use of dials. The gem then of the black and white shot is a real lust, at least for me, it really makes me go back to my FM / FE. The screen can also be kept closed and thus have a total vintage look. My Z6II will stay on the sidelines or end up sold

Pros: EVERYTHING, from autofocus to sensor, from aesthetics to weight. Everything as you expect

Cons: Grip that needs small rigs, but not bad

Opinion: Generational transition from Nikon Df to Nikon Zf. Maybe the DF had some flaws. The Zf is perfect in every detail. The vintage wave that began with the Df continues in an excellent way. With what it inherits from the Z8 and Z9 it is a monster of technology . Probably not ideal for wedding professionals, but it makes you want to leave and take pictures. It awakens your eye and mind. Manual dials and eye in the viewfinder. (you could easily keep the screen closed, it would give even more sense to the vintage of the camera body) very satisfied!!

Pros: Beautiful.

Cons: Nothing in particular.

Opinion: Nikon Zf Silver, a whim, just a whim, but what a nice whim. At full price I would not have taken it, I found a grade A refurbished, with the additional discount that NIKON practices every now and then on refurbished and the affordable price made me decide. In hindsight, I would say that I would have been just as satisfied even if I had paid more. I was missing a bit the 24 mpx of the Z6II that I had sold for the purchase of Z8, with Zf I solved it. The box has a little external damage, but the camera felt like it had never been manipulated either. At the time of analogue I envied the cameras in the black version, but already from the release of Zfc I was enticed by the Silver version, which I actually chose for my Zf. As I got older I changed tastes, obviously. The AF is better than the Z6II and it seems to me that it is close to that of my Z8 and Z9 and, for the use I have to make of it, it is more than adequate. I added the Smallrig grip with the dark wood grip and I find that the kit positively affects the aesthetics. I don't have the problem of others, who complain about the lack of vintage-style lenses, I don't care about them. The minimal appearance of the Z optics goes very well with that of the camera. It is not very small, which I like, it shows a fair amount of mass and gives the idea of solidity. I use my cameras in M and Zf you can use it in a slow and reasoned mode, by means of the dials, or like any other camera taking advantage of any type of automatism that equips the sisters with a more contemporary look. It doesn't have the ergonomics of the other Nikon Zs I have and have had, but I adapt willingly, without particular worries. I mounted a friend's 24-120 with it, to see if it was worth getting it and as far as I'm concerned they can become ass and shirt, it seems to me an excellent kit for doing a kind of disengaged photography, carrying only one zoom. I have to get used to this type of screen, but I really like being able to close it to make it disappear, as if it weren't there. I don't find any particular defects, I would rather say that it has characteristics that distinguish it and that may not please everyone, but the camera is very beautiful and performing, the file as well, so more than fine as is.

Pros: Autofocus, viewfinder, construction, file quality, MF assist system

Cons: A few more function keys would not have hurt, easily clickable front button, but you get used to it. Tiltable screen, lack of Nikon optics with ring

Opinion: I switched from Fujifilm to Nikon for an interchangeable-lens camera, after I was disappointed with the xt5. For two years I was with only the x100vi (before the x100v) I loved it for its portability and capabilities, I was waiting for a new xpro that never arrived. At that point I decided for the Nikon zf. Of the ML what I can't stand is the electric viewfinder, not with the Nikon zf, it's perfect. The camera is beautiful, it has a terrific autofocus, the quality of the files can be seen compared to Fujifilm which in my opinion maintains better colors. However, there is one thing to be said about Fujifilm colors: they are characteristic, difficult to replicate, but they also bind in RAW. The Nikon file is one of the most beautiful files to work with and post produce. In particular, as far as the Nikon zf gives a beautiful feeling in the hand, it seems to have my Canon F1new in my hand, but digital. After the 3.0 firmware update, the ISO dial can be set in such a way as to have the automatic ISO on C, without switching between the PASM dial.
