![]() | Nikon AF-S DX 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED VR Pros: Multipurpose Cons: Not very sharp (maybe only on my D90) Opinion: Maybe I have a problem of front or back focus with this lens because used with manual MAF it is perfect but on the D90 there does not seem to be any possibility of calibration. Moreover, mine is starting to have a bit of mold on the inside of the front lens. It unbalances the D90 forward (not really its ideal lens). sent on April 07, 2025 |
![]() | Panasonic Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 ASPH Pros: Sharp, lightweight Cons: I don't see any Opinion: I've had it for almost three years and I can say it's a great lens. I don't understand those who complain because they are "plastic"... but precisely for this reason it is light (even if in metal it would not weigh twice as much). I use it on a G6 and it gives me beautiful, sharp, perfect colors. It's just a shame that the price continues to increase, to date it already costs almost 20% more. True, everything increases: we want PEACE or goals (or air conditioners)... sent on March 12, 2025 |
![]() | Panasonic DMW-BLG10 Pros: Compatible with other models Cons: It doesn't last long Opinion: As mentioned in the pros I use it on G100 and GF5, they do not have an exciting duration so it is better to have at least two, three would be better. Since the G100 is the one I use the most (I have a collection of 17 cameras) and I have the bad habit of shooting in bursts, I always carry two spare with me. The originals cost as you well know, so I took two non-originals that last a little less but have been lasting for almost four years now. sent on December 27, 2024 |
![]() | Sony E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Pros: Sharpness, AF speed Cons: It is still too early to say Opinion: Arrived today well packed, I took a dozen test photos (at various focal lengths) and I was favorably impressed by the sharpness (at F8) and the speed of the autofocus. I'll update my review as the day doesn't allow outings but from what little I've seen I'm really amazed (PS. I had always snubbed Sony but I'm changing my mind). Update 16-10-2024: a great lens, like all lenses a bit dark it struggles slightly in the MAF but it does its job but when the light is good it is fantastic. Nice photos, so money well spent (in my opinion). sent on October 09, 2024 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 G VR II Pros: Price, pretty sharp, touristic lens. Cons: Those of the kit lenses but... (See opinion), aperture aperture only for daylight. Opinion: Taken as a kit, used, with the D3200 it didn't make me cry out for a technological miracle: good photos but nothing special. Instead, I changed my mind and I re-evaluated it a lot now that I used it on my Lumix G100 in a totally manual way (I think it doesn't even work VR)... It's a whole other thing. The focus peaking of the G100 helps a lot in focusing and I took beautiful photos that don't come with this lens with the D3200. It's true that my photographic style (let's call it that) doesn't require quick focusing... In short, I consider it an excellent lens, almost exceptional! sent on June 02, 2024 |
![]() | Nikon AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 G Pros: Second-hand price, lightness. Other PROS? Don't have it. Cons: Optics (at least the one I have) poor, not VR Opinion: Regretted the purchase because, although it has two camera bodies, I was not able to take a photo worthy of being called such. I didn't do well not to take it without VR because my wrist is very wobbly but even on a tripod it returns very bad images. On long focal lengths? It is better to draw a veil of pity! Yes, it's true I paid little for it but it was wasted money... even if they are few. Wanting to resell it seems to me like throwing a bin at someone else: Nikon, but what have you done? sent on April 11, 2024 |
![]() | Sony A6400 Pros: Autofocus Cons: LCD, viewfinder. (See opinion) Opinion: I've been there for a few days, hired to make videos for YouTube. The reason for the purchase is for the autofocus: finally an autofocus like ... Commands! As for video quality it is excellent but I preferred the Panasonic 'pasta'... but by a very small margin. Excellent Raw and excellent shots that in my opinion are, in terms of color, slightly cooler than Panasonic. I don't like the LCD, I preferred the one with side opening but it's okay too. The viewfinder, I don't like that too placed on the left side but I think it's just a matter of habit. However, a "9" deserves it all: the quality is there and it's tangible! sent on March 04, 2024 |
![]() | Canon PowerShot S30 Pros: Nothing in particular Cons: Sloppy photos Opinion: I don't have a good memory of this room, far from it. In those days it was little more than in the early days of digital and it was very expensive. It has never given me photos to leave me speechless, on the contrary, not very contrasted washed out colors but what was worse the photos had an inclination of more or less 10 °... I remember the photos with the horizon of the sea descending. From that time... Steer clear of Canon (when you get burned you don't want to repeat the experience) sent on November 05, 2023 |
![]() | Panasonic Lumix G 45-200mm f/4-5.6 II OIS Pros: Price, Focal Length vs. FF (90-400 FF), Good Sharpness, Stabilized Cons: For what it costs... No cons, you have to make do... but you settle for it! Opinion: Taken almost by chance and rediscovered for this holiday for photographic hunting of seagulls (just so as not to get bored during the holidays) with very good light it gave me really beautiful shots that many appreciated: The stabilization was fundamental. Even at 200mm it doesn't look bad and is also great for portraits. it's a lens to take into account if you don't want to, or can't, spend more on the 100-300 or 100-400 Leica. Still, a lens that I consider very, very good. sent on October 13, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.8 G Pros: Sharpness Cons: Don't have it Opinion: Fantastic! A 'must' for those who want to make portraits on poster-sized prints. I was already ultra happy with 50/1.8, 85/1.8 is even better! Yes, they have a minimum of AC, more evident in the 50mm but you can only notice it at very strong magnifications. Now I aim for 35/1.8 then enough, I have already spent too much money on photography. sent on October 12, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S DX 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED VR Pros: Lens that replaces all others Cons: He doesn't excel at anything Opinion: Bought used by private (never again I will buy from private: not because it was cheated but because the description corresponded only in part, better RCE, pay more, of course, but at least you have warranty and testing carried out and the description of all the components supplied ... anyway mine works!). What about this goal? If you take it on a trip you start only with this and the others leave them at home but if you want well-made photographs I say that the best is obtained only with "prime" optics (yet Ken Rockwell of this 18-200 speaks so well ...). Returning to this lens I say that it is not bad at all but on long focal lengths it begins to show the rope: too soft whatever aperture it uses. If you make giant prints better avoid. Thank goodness that, at least mine, the autofocus works very well, the VR, always mine, I do not put my hand on the fire. If I had to give a grade to say 68/100: we are well beyond sufficiency, right? sent on September 01, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G Pros: Sharpness, color, contrast Cons: A bit of chromatic aberration Opinion: Needless to drag it out: I would call it an exceptional lens for both right and fx! Unfortunately it has its cons (see above) but the defect is seen only at very strong magnification. For the photos that this lens gave me back... I fell in love with it! Outdoors it's great. When I mount it, on any body, I don't have to worry about anything, I'm sure the photo will be beautiful whether it's indoor or outdoor with little or a lot of light: I can't do without it. sent on August 27, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon D610 Pros: Image quality Cons: Weight Opinion: I've owned it for long. Practically I am both collector and photographer. I took it just to have an FF, even if used, as I was already satisfied with the M4/3 (and also with the two Aps-c SLRs). But out of curiosity I bought this and a pair of optics and I fell in love with it: now I only use this anymore! Incredibly, between the D610, the fixed Af-s 50/1.8 and two vintage zoom 28-80-/3.3 and 28-200/3.5 I do everything I need. Unfortunately it weighs much more than the other systems but the 24mpx of this camera satisfy me to the extra-great. They are used at affordable prices and in my opinion they are worth much more than you pay for it. I do not add technical details or strengths / weaknesses of which others have already written but I emphasize the fact that the D610, today, can be summed up in four words: little expense, a lot of yield! sent on July 01, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 ED D Pros: Good sharpness up to 200mm, lightweight, autofocus not extremely fast but more than acceptable Cons: At 300mm, mine, it is extremely difficult to focus (on D200) and then he regularly snugs it. Opinion: Taken for the super affordable price but usable up to 200mm or so, at the maximum focal length ignore the autofocus and switch to manual... It's better. On D610 from excellent photos always remaining under 200mm. At the maximum focal length on any body the motor sends the focus ring back and forth and then mistakes it as well. As for the sharpness, under 200mm, I prefer the old 28-200g, does not miss a shot and is a bit sharper in my opinion sent on June 27, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon AF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED IF Pros: Lightness yet plasticky Cons: It lacks VR, plásticoso, (but light), vignette quite short focal length (28-35mm) as well as blurring the edges in a conspicuous way, Images not very sharp Opinion: Given the success of the 28-80 f1:3.3-5.6 I decided to get this 28-200 as well to extend the focal range. I preferred the silver ones that many people don't like but I find them so vintage! Mounted on D3200, it works in manual but with the focus ring, even if reduced in rotation, it focuses well. With these AF/G series you can do great in terms of focal range: they cost little but do not yield much. A little bit of softness at 200mm... but it can be! And then at 200mm you need the tripod unless you have marble hand/wrist. At short focal lengths it flounders a lot, but what can that price be expected? As a travel optic, it's fine. I recommend that those who want to buy it stay with an 8/11 aperture for the best sharpness. Too bad vignettes in the short focal lengths forcing you to intervene in post, it has a bit of chromatic aberration but it is only noticeable at very high magnification. Watch out for the graft because it is made of plastic! Update October 2023 The more I use it, the less I like it: the specimen in my possession I noticed distorts quite a bit at all focal lengths... But it's also always handy as an all-rounder if you agree to intervene heavily in post-production. sent on June 14, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon AF 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G Pros: Price, sharp, featherweight. Cons: So plástic, Maf manual difficult for rotation too short and light. Opinion: Given the price I said: I take it or go or break it! It went very well beyond my expectations. Mounted on a D610 gave me back fantastic shots! It will be plastic but even if dated I never expected that something more like a toy than a lens would pull out such sharp photos. The speed of maf I find it very good even if slightly noisy but I do not care. The automatic maf works only on cameras with internal motor, manually I struggle to focus as the mechanism is little frictioned. To cite an example: photo taken of my wife at 7-8 meters at 80mm focal length can be seen hair (even a little wrinkles ... Unfortunately). I usually shoot at aperture priority, the best results I see them at f8 even at 80mm. My lens has silver color, for some it is an opprobrium but I like it even if it clashes with the black body of the d610. In summary, I consider it an apt article! A great buy! sent on May 12, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon AF 80-200mm f/4.5-5.6 D Pros: Lightweight, sharpness Cons: I don't know... Dark, if we want to find a fault with it! Opinion: I don't think you can find any "cons", those who buy it know what to expect so I can't speak ill of it! What really blew me away is the focus on my D610: precise! (Or at least what I have is really great). I don't even try to use it manually! Slow focusing? Maybe but it doesn't seem like it to me, I'm perfectly fine with that. Lightweight, economical... I'm very happy with this zoom, paid used only 60€ but it doesn't have a scratch even looking for it with the magnifying glass! Never was a purchase more apt! ---- August 2023 Update. Used for outdoor portraits it gave me fantastic images, if the light is favorable you can do without the :85 1.4 or 1.8... Obviously not indoors. ---- October 2023 Update The more I use it, the more I am convinced of the high quality of this super cheap zoom, tell me that I am a fool or a clueless but I prefer portraits made with this lens than those made with the af-s 50/1.8 or the af-s 85/1.8.... De gustibus? ---- Update October 28, 2023, Well, I exaggerated a bit, I took a better look at the portraits taken with the 85/1.8... they are quite different when viewed at high magnifications. However, this zoom defends itself well! sent on April 17, 2023 |
![]() | Tamron 14-150mm f/3.5-5.8 Di III Pros: Size/Weight, Focal Range Cons: Sometimes inaccurate autofocus Opinion: In my opinion it is a very good lens. I used it for travel with my G100 and 9 times out of 10 it gave me excellent photos but in full light conditions and 8/11 apertures, outside this range gradually, it seems to me, it progressively loses quality especially at long focal lengths, at intermediate focal lengths it goes great. As for the autofocus: sometimes at the first shot it is inaccurate but by refueling it manages to hit the target. I therefore consider it an excellent travel companion (together with my G100) for the "pros" listed above. Warning: it is not stabilized! sent on March 17, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon D200 Pros: Incredible sensor, workability of Raw. Cons: it's still early to say, I have it recently but it seems to me that it makes images a little dark (but I have yet to find out) Opinion: I state that I am not a great photographer, indeed a photographer just below average (so I consider myself). Taken with 40,000 shots. It weighs, it is true, but the substance is perceptible! So, I use Darktable for PP and occasionally Nikon's Nx Studio, well, the results satisfy me great. The files he pulls out you can work them to the overwhelming, shadow recovery: excellent, at Low Iso the noise is imperceptible (we will then see at the high even if you almost never use them). I'm using it with only AFS 1.8 G lenses of 35 and 50mm and I notice that the autofocus works very well: I wonder what is meant / pretends for fast autofocus, this is fast (perhaps thanks to the lenses). Perhaps the only thing that does not please me is the fact that it has CF cards (the D80 seems contemporary and had the SD if I'm not mistaken), but no matter the important thing is the result not so much the support! In short, I have had it for three days and I fall in love with it every day more! I will update in a few months and see if the love has increased or ended. Good click to all (the D200 does not click has Claaaccckkkk but for me it is beautiful for this) sent on January 21, 2023 |
![]() | Panasonic G9 Pros: Autofocus in the photo department: excellent, ergonomics, photo quality, stratospheric stabilization combined with stabilized lenses, tropicalized... and much more... Cons: Difficult to find one, perhaps the autofocus in video sometimes leaves something to be desired but you really have to go and look for it during the viewing phase ... Opinion: Review not exhaustive for the short time available. Well, for what little I used it left me speechless especially the autofocus and stabilization: excellent! Unfortunately I had to make the return because it was defective. Already just removed from the box and charged the battery... I turn on and the viewer is black as well as the viewfinder. I fiddle around a bit and an indistinct series of vertical purple bands appears on the display. I geek again and finally the clear image of what I frame. I can take pictures and videos and I realize how much the autofocus and stabilization are much, much, better than I thought (already having the G100 and the G6) with the others there is no story! I put it back in my backpack and pull it out a week later before a vacation. I turn on, everything ok. Then again those purple bands: machine in total block! And here my jaw dropped. At this point I reluctantly made the return. Too bad it was a really good room (when it worked). But it is not said that in the future he will not try again because if, as he did on the S5 mark2, we are put the phase detection autofocus in combination with contrast detection (assuming it is feasible) ... Well, then there is nothing left for anyone! sent on January 13, 2023 |
![]() | Panasonic G100 Pros: Compact size, light weight, great sensor for photos and videos, tiltable screen, very good audio. Cons: For me the only real flaw is the autofocus in the video department. Opinion: All in all and a very good room for both videos and photos. But what literally drives me crazy is the autofocus in the video department: he does what he wants not what I want whether you use it in Afs, AFC or Aff, he follows you, yes, if you do even minimal movements of the head but every time he refuses and when I see the video see the hunting is really annoying. Then video with focus in manual. In fact, now I use it only to take pictures in pair, according to the need, with the PanaLeica 12-60 (when I want maximum sharpness) or the Tamron 14-150 (traveling). Another flaw is the crop in 4k video that I consider exaggerated much less marked in Fullhd. In short, love / hate! sent on January 13, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon D3200 Pros: Paid very little (socket used), respectable camera, good quality image; durable battery Cons: Focus: it's not a sniper Opinion: My lens was to have an SLR, I would have liked Pentax but this happened and I'm happy all the same. Taken used by a friend who had not used it for five years, about 9000 shots, with af-s 18-55 kit lens (it is not the maximum detail but it has a good VR), enriched with 35mm and 50mm (more will come). I'm having a lot of fun with it and it's the one I use the most: I like to hear the noise of the mirror and shutter when they come into operation... ah what a pleasure the REFLEX! Too bad that the mirrorless are supplanting them but this one makes great photos and if you are not happy, in post-production you can do miracles. The D3200 is simple to use, holds well in your hand and is very reliable. The battery lasts a long time but I recommend always having one in stock (two, or more, in the case of mirrorless). Another pity is the fact of not having an internal AF motor and not being able to mount the lenses without autofocus motor or the latest AF-P lenses, but only AF-S to have the autofocus that in itself is not amazing. The dynamic range doesn't seem great to me but it's doing very well, anyway. My advice is to learn to use it immediately in manual focus because sometimes the autofocus makes a fuss (or it is not the maximum precision) and then if you become good use the rest in manual. Anyway, as far as exposure is concerned, it automatically does everything well and does it really well! Now, it is said, it is an "Entry Level", yes it is true but it forces you to use your head more and this is, perhaps, a good thing: the photo is made by the photographer not the camera! Happy clicking everyone! sent on September 14, 2022 |
![]() | Nikon Coolpix S7000 Pros: The advantages of the size, not bad as zoom, good landscape photos, macro (settling) Cons: The disadvantages of size Opinion: It is not easy to define both as pros and as against the same voice but in fact it is just like that: comfortable because small and you put it in your pocket and take it anywhere, it turns on in a couple of seconds and you are ready to shoot, uncomfortable because it groups the keys all very close and handling it is easy to press a key that you did not have to. However, he takes beautiful photos of landscapes and portraits, the latter also very sharp. In support it brings numerous effects, which may or may not like it, and a not bad zoomino. Then it allows you to get very close to a subject (macro). I use it often although it also has a reflex and three mirrorless (cheap) and I have a lot of fun. sent on August 16, 2022 |
![]() | Panasonic G6 Pros: Excellent grip with right hand, 16mpx quality, Sharpness. Cons: Video department with poor quality audio. Sufficient battery. Lacks stabilization. Opinion: Found new as a warehouse fund... I took it on impulse without knowing what I was going to encounter: but I got it right! It seems made especially for my hand. I use it only to take pictures (the videos are of poor quality because of the bad audio) and coupled with the Leica 12-60 from really beautiful and sharp photos, but what do I say .. STUNNING. It would be nice if the battery lasted a little longer but so much is a problem with almost all current mirrorless so it is better to equip yourself with one or two spare batteries. It has no stabilization on the sensor so it is better to use lenses with stabilizer. The 16mpx on this device is more than enough to make beautiful and sharp photos. It's true, he has his years, but if he wears them really well, even if I have a G100, and a Nikon D3200, I do not give up continuing to photograph with the G6 with which I have never missed a shot ... something that happens to me with the G100: so congratulations to the autofocus ... even with 45-200! Just to have just mentioned it (the 45-200 Lumix) it is better not to use it at the maximum focal length except for compelling reasons! Anyway if you happen to have a G6 do not miss it! sent on June 10, 2022 |
