Pros: Tank, battery all in all acceptable, burst, speed of use, double slot, customizable buttons, mymenu, ibis, high resolution shooting, video quality

Cons: high iso, shutter button too sensitive, dimensions (even if they benefit ergonomics), af c, tell her that it can not be a pro

Opinion: I took this G9 to start making weddings, I already had a gx80 that for obvious reasons was not suitable for this purpose, I replaced a 25mm f1.7 with a leica f1.4, the olympus 12-40 pro with the pana II 12-35 f2.8 to have the double ibis. I have never had a problem that is one, the battery when in EVF saving mode easily reaches 1000 shots, when not saving about 600 (a little' little), the same EVF is very good, adjustable in size and I found myself well for color fidelity, the screen above I do not see it very useful on an ML with all the info already in the viewfinder and with articulated screen, but there is, the convenience of having so many fn buttons really allows you to set it as you like (I have the two front buttons next to the lens set to fine-tuning and high-res mode), there are all the dials you need, I honestly miss a lock button to the "canon". The weight and size are atypical in the m43 world but I will tell you, this shape seems to have been made especially for my hands, with the 12-35 (the heaviest of the lenses I own) even after 12 hours of work, the weight on the hands does not give problems. The videos well, it is a GH5 with a few less functions, nothing to report because we are at decidedly professional levels. Side photo well... If you are people who never go above 6400iso is the machine for you, the IQ is decent, the color range is on par with the FF of 2014 (approximately, of course there are nikon monsters that exceed the stra). I would never, ever change it (maybe only with an S5), but I recommend you make a series of f1.4 lenses (the Sigma triptych would be perfect), because like all cameras, where there is no light there is no quality.

Pros: Top construction, dual slots, top display, customization, autofocus with 225 zones, EVF, ergonomics, amount of rings and selectors, spatial IBIS

Cons: Extremely sensitive shutter button, if it can be a defect, given the size of the battery I would have expected a longer duration. Don't take it before

Opinion: I state that I know the M43 system well, as I already have a GX8 and I exchanged the GX9 with this G9 a little out of curiosity, so let's say that I know what the strengths and weaknesses of this system may be. I add that I also have the Lumix 12-60 f/3.5-5.6, the Panaleica 15 f/1.7, the 35-100 f/4-5.6 and the 20 f/1.7, so a fairly complete and articulated kit. I took it from RCE Foto with very few shots and still with the films on the two displays, practically immaculate! I've had it for a couple of days, and I guarantee you that it is a camera that in your hand is addictive to how well it is built; it is solid, robust, it grips wonderfully has a lot of customizable keys and rings which literally allows you to "sew it on". To be an M43 weights a little, I admit, but it is that weight that gives security and confidence, so for me it is not a defect, far from it I would say ... Very nice EVF, perhaps it suffers from a slight distortion, but it is fluid and very very bright. I'm not here to judge the IQ, but if I can say that I'm satisfied with the images produced by the current GX8 and the previous GX9, I can only expect better from the G9 especially in terms of AF where I think it is definitely superior to the two previous models. Given its size I would have expected a longer battery life, but I reserve the right to do some tests with a new one, I would not like that having taken it used its battery was not 100% Needless to say that the double SD slot is priceless, such as the tropicalization and the status display, details that make this camera decidedly professional. They say it's also excellent for the video part, but I don't do them even with the mobile so I don't know what to say !!!! I should have just taken it earlier...

Pros: PRO body, dual SD slots, 4k video, internal stabilization, pleasure of use

Cons: Photo quality, ISO

Opinion: I bought this machine at the end of October giving away my d7100. I gained a lighter but even more robust body, with an intuitive interface and many interesting functions - among other things very easy to select already in the quick menu with the touch screen. I used it combined leica 15mm, pana 25mm, pana 42.5mm and 7artisans 60mm macro. The strong points are certainly the videos: articulated screen very comfortable even in photography, 4k video up to 60 fps, many color profiles and the possibility of having a more flat one to manage in post. The ergonomics of the body is very good, very reminiscent of that of a classic SLR but with a lot of technology inside and greater handling especially combined with lenses of really ridiculous dimensions. In practice, if you bring with you the body plus 3 of the lenses that I have listed on (15, 25, 42.5) you get to about 1kg. Cons: the small sensor implies that the photo must be composed almost perfectly already during shooting, the possibilities of crop are very limited. The malleability of the files is also low, the dynamic range is lower than a mid-low range apsc (as can be the nikon d7100). This is also due to the fact that the photos almost totally lack fine detail (even with high-end lenses, a concept that I will resume later). The stabilization of the sensor helps a lot, you can compensate for the absent iso seal with very long shutter speeds, even 1/6 freehand without too many problems. But if by chance you have to go up with the iso, already at 1600 the detail in the photos drops drastically. Bought with the idea of making videos in the naturalistic field thinking of buying the panaleica 100-400, I sold it after seeing the poor quality of the raw made with g9 + panaleica 100-400 that gave lower results than those I obtained with d7100 and tamron 100-400. Consiliatissima for videomakers, with 700 euros in the used you take home a beast, highly recommended for those looking for a very light set up to take on excursions with even the choice of slower, not recommended for those looking for so much quality in the files.

Pros: Build quality, ergonomics, iso seal, customization keys

Cons: Having given it away .... but I took it back!

Opinion: I had a g9, which I had changed for passage to another brand FF .... I could not resist and I had to take it back ... The machine conveys a truly top feeling, many options for customizing the keys, iso seal, white balance in my opinion among the best of many tested and photographic equipment of weight and small dimensions! What more could you want!?!? I paired a panaleica 100-400 a panaleica 45 macro is an olympus 12-40 f2.8 pro, I miss the Panasonic 35-100 and kit practically finished!

Pros: Build quality and solidity at excellent levels, customization keys in quantity, superior display, lightness, dual SD slots, full-size HDMI input and not mini

Cons: Dimensions a bit 'exaggerated For the series micro four thirds but for some it can be a Pro, shutter button sometimes too sensitive just touch it and shoot, the battery does not last long

Opinion: Panasonic in this body has achieved excellence the combination of photos and videos in the micro four-thirds sector, I was looking for a machine that would allow me to take great photos and good video I found! Build quality also incomparable to the Olympus counterpart, video quality practically equated to the gh5, in combination with large lenses such as the 100 400 Panasonic I have the 40 150 Olympus Pro has no rivals! Every time I mounted one of those two lenses I seemed to have the perfect camera, you could freehand to make great photos and great videos in good light conditions, very useful superior display, tropicalized to perfection, 6k burst shooting from 18 megapixels, High Speed shot of 20 RAW per second! Unfortunately it also has some cons, The battery lasts fairly little the dimensions are rather abundant for the micro four-thirds sector but for some they can be a Pro, not for me that I have quite small hands, the shutter button is too sensitive as soon as you touch it shoots, said this for those looking for a robust tropicalized and well-balanced machine with pushed zoom you can not do without it even for current prices!
