Autofocus has improved continuously as firmware has gone through (the improvement with firmware 2.4, for example, has been important), but AFC in some very dynamic contexts and videos is not at the level of many newer mirrorless. Another limitation is that the sensor develops a really important chromatic noise above 2000 ISO. That said, for me it is still highly recommended, unless you have really professional pretensions in birdlife or you do not take adjustments in low light contexts or you do not need very high resolution photos.

I put it back in my backpack and pull it out a week later before a vacation. I turn on, everything ok. Then again those purple bands: machine in total block! And here my jaw dropped. At this point I reluctantly made the return. Too bad it was a really good room (when it worked).
