fujifilm_x-e1Fujifilm X-E1

Pros: Aesthetics, Robustness, Form Factor, Sensor, Exposure Preview, Shutter Speed Dial

Cons: ISO management can be improved, only one command ring is poorly studied, AF, Q key position

Opinion: It's a car I've wanted to try for a long time. I already knew its amazing sensor from trying it on xm1. Compared to the latter, the xe1 loses only the tiltable screen but gains a lot in usability, first of all the exposure preview that on the xm1 there is only by pressing the shutter button halfway and not at the same time as the parameters change. Here the display is smaller but different, with a "serious" screen for settings. Another thing is the presence of an evf that some put among the cons but that I found more than sufficient; I didn't even have any difficulties, as some complain, for the lateral position (even if I shoot with my left eye the nose doesn't bother me). The sore points (with reservations) for me are the af and the iso management. The af-s is unthinkable if compared to my xt30, but with a bit of habit you can take shots (especially if staged); The ISO management is also worse than on the XT30 because here the front ring is missing, which in the "Modern" is deputed to this. All you have to do is use the function key or the q key: in the first case you can't inexplicably use the only command ring but the joypad (yes, there is no joystick like the xt30 but we are talking about twelve years ago); The Q key, on the other hand, modifies quickly with the dial but has been placed in the most unreachable point, so much so that to operate it you have to go looking for it. Another oddity of the command ring is that it can be used to change the aperture only on xc and xf lenses that do not have the adjustment on the barrel - on xt30 instead you can and it is very convenient for those who are used to reflex cameras. Needless to talk about the battery life because we all know the NP126: however, it makes the machines light and can be used on almost all fuji. At the end of the day the xe1 is a nice machine, with a really impeccable construction (a small tank). It's outdated but under two hundred euros, in good condition, it's great for making trips - I got it for this to go with the 27. The most important thing is that it takes really good photos - those who speak well of the first xtrans are not exaggerating - and with a reduced file weight (with the xt30 you only need 500 photos to fill 32 gigs - with the xe 1 it takes more than a thousand; the hardisks thank you). Then it's really, really beautiful: try to pick it up to understand

7artisans_12_f2-87artisans 12mm f/2.8

Pros: Sharpness, Size, weight (in relation to focal length)

Cons: ferrules a little too loose, cap

Opinion: Really solid and beautiful lens in terms of aesthetics, even the cap which, unfortunately, falls off every three by two. The lens amazed me: one of the best manuals I've found. The MAF scale seems to work very well (it's very easy to put it in hyperfocal). The greatest advantage is that it takes beautiful photos, even the colors are not bad (it tends to be a bit cold). For the use I make of it (street) I don't notice any particular aberrations - instead it is quite sharp. At the price you find it's definitely a good wide angle. I haven't had a chance to test it for landscapes but it seems clear to me that it can be fine (I've seen some nice things in some galleries). Advised

fujifilm_xm1Fujifilm X-M1

Pros: xtrans sensor , few megapixels , weight, tiltable display , file size , iso resistance

Cons: few megapixels, lack of viewfinder, lack of electronic shutter

Opinion: Bought in 2023 as a "travel" camera to replace the fujifilm xa2 (which I consider inferior as a file, especially at high iso) combined with a 27 mm. I also own an xt30. The body is the same as the Xa2, in everything except for the display, which here is only tiltable so for me much better (that of the A2 tilts forward to take selfies). Like the homologation it is very easy to use with a ring for the apertures, one for the times and the iso on the function key. I only did a "tour" with the 18-55 but I immediately noticed that it takes really nice photos. They do not stand comparison with the xt30 only for megapixels, but clearly 16 can be enough for normal uses. It also has a very good high iso resistance (and even higher than the bayer sensor of the a2). The few megapixels allow on the other hand to have reduced file sizes, which occupy less space in the sd and in the harddisks, with a lot of gain. She lacks the viewfinder, but those who take this one know it. To take on the road and fantastic, super light. It is good to remember that it is able to churn out files comparable to xpro 1, xe1 and xt1, which are found at other prices. A tip for those looking for it: avoid paying too much because even this body has entered the ugly speculative circle born around the used fuji; I paid 150 euros in a store with 2 years warranty!! Those who open it well of the xtrans 1 sensor do so with good reason.

fujifilm_18-55oisFujifilm XF 18-55 f/2.8-4R LM OIS

Pros: sharpness, robustness, lightness

Cons: for what I paid nothing

Opinion: After much indecision I decided to take it, used to only 200 pieces I thought it was worth it. It was a nice find to see what picture it takes. I do street and the results are better than 27 pancakes and Viltrox 33. The slow and sharp, returns beautiful colors. I still used little but the af seemed good to me (only in one case he caned but the situation was really "on the fly"). ) From a sense of robustness, the hood is fine (I don't know who criticizes it for doing it). The diaphragm ring has no notches but I honestly don't care: using xc lenses I got used to using the rear ring of the car, the old way, and honestly I find it better to use the ring on the lens (I'll be weird)

fujifilm_xa2Fujifilm X-A2

Pros: Compactness, price (especially today used), aesthetics, weight

Cons: lack of exposure preview, controls can be improved (changing the ISO is cumbersome), dated sensor, lack of electronic shutter, display without touch

Opinion: Bought used to accompany the xt30 to have a body to leave in aut and to carry without patemi on the road. Purchased for only 140 euros in 2023 (with two years warranty), among other things white, it is certainly good for its purpose, especially with the 27 pancakes - for the street it is fabulous because you notice very little (too bad for the absence of electronic shutter). Compared to an xt30 makes it clear its cheapness: with the two rings we can directly control only times and apertures, the iso are cumbersome to change (you have to go or from the q menu or assign it the only function key); the display is not touch but the biggest problem in my opinion is the lack of exposure preview (which is fantastic on other fuji) and also you can rely only on the exposure scale (which goes only from +3 to -3) and inexplicably NOT THE HISTOGRAM, which does not update and therefore acts only in reproduction; The 16 megapixels are noticeable if you are used to the 26, but you can certainly settle (for the street they can go). In conclusion, if you are looking for a cover to start or to always carry around at reasonable prices there can be, but to spend more than 150 (and it is much less) it is better to go elsewhere. It is still a fuji body to which you can attach any fuji x and is really beautiful aesthetically (at least on the front). It could be a plus the display that rotates by 180 because it allows selfies and vlogs, even if it does not reach an optimal angle - if used in tilt it still does its duty.

fujifilm_xc15-45oisFujifilm XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ

Pros: lightness, portability, sharpness, minimum focal length

Cons: Zoom operation, focal not adjustable

Opinion: Purchased in kit with Fuji xt30. I snubbed it for quite a while then carried around for its compactness and lightness, from this irreplaceable point of view: collapsed is practically a pankake and on the neck it is non-existent. Its strong point is sharpness. For me it is ideal for the street, used at 35 mm, where it does not weigh its low brightness, using it mostly at f 5.6.Il problem is to get the corresponding focal length right (but by eye you can easily do it). I almost did not use it in wide because I no longer do landscapes, but from some tests it looks good even on that side. The only valid alternative, for the weight and for my type of shots, is the xc 35. If you buy in kit it is practically given away. I consider it a great travel lens.

meyer_30lydithMeyer Gorlitz 30mm f/3.5 Lydith

Pros: sharpness, colors, size

Cons: none

Opinion: He was in my father's Pracktica kit and looking at him you wouldn't give him a lyre. I tried it on Fuji xt30 and it was a great experience. The thing you notice first is the color rendering, so much so that it does not seem such an old optics. It is sharp enough, especially at medium apertures. A versa surprise. It is not my definitive "street" perspective but from good satisfactions.

fujifilm_xt30Fujifilm X-T30

Pros: Aesthetics, construction quality, rings and lots of adjustments, excellent for high use, burst

Cons: The display is not posable.

Opinion: Perfect to carry around but very usable. I was in doubt about ergonomics, coming from a Nikon reflex. Honestly, I feel great. The viewfinder is great. And great display to use even to shoot. The only drawback, of course, is the fact that you can move little (the display). Very happy to have passed to the fuji world. I look forward to trying it with other goals
