![]() | Viltrox AF 20mm f/2.8 Pros: Price, yield Cons: For now, no one Opinion: I'm talking about the Viltrox 20 mm f 2.8 mounted on Z6, if it was mounted on another camera body or on Sony the performance could change. Specimen centered, all corners return the same quality. Tested on some close and far shots comparing it with the old Nikon 20 mm f 2.8 and the Nikon AF-S 14-24 f 2.8: in both cases the Viltrox is better as a resolution, since it costs less than the FTZ adapter used I would say that it is better to leave the reflex lenses at home..... At the edges at f2.8 it loses something but nothing compared to the other lenses I compared it to. Basically a good purchase, better than any 20mm for reflex I've ever had (I don't know if it's equal to or equal to the AF-S 20mm f1.8 that I've never used). As always I can't say if my copy is "lucky" but I repeat, respect the price, the optics are excellent. sent on October 16, 2024 |
![]() | Panasonic S5 Pros: Controls, stabilization, sensor, high ISO Cons: Contrast only autofocus. Embarrassing and annoying in AF C as it moves continuously. Opinion: A machine that makes sense to be taken with the latest sale prices, otherwise the AF, especially in AF-C does not justify the launch price. For the rest it is well built but love has not been triggered after a year of use. I'm not saying it's not usable but with any lens I find AF-C distressing with continuous and frenetic bumping. If you want to use it only in AF-S it makes sense to take it. I would say that it had some flaws as a machine, otherwise why did it have such a low diffusion on the market? sent on October 06, 2024 |
![]() | 7artisans 25mm f/1.8 Pros: Definition, colors, price, looks sturdy, aperture. Cons: It is very difficult to focus correctly, especially at infinity. Opinion: Taken used with other optics 7 artisan, 12 f 2.8, 25 f 1.8, 35 f 1.2 and 55 f 1.4 at very low price. I tested it on a 16-megapixel Sony Nex-5 R with an external electronic viewfinder. For now, only on landscapes. I had an old Nikon 24 f 2.8 AI-S available at home and out of curiosity I compared them to infinity, nothing rigorous, but the 7artisan for me solves more, has brighter colors and at the same aperture set and subject feels brighter (the times are faster than the Nikon). It is very difficult to focus on infinity, not because it is manual but because in a few mm you can go from 5 m to infinity and more. Incorrect focus affects resolution. A longer focus would be needed so that more accurate focus could be focused. With focus peaking you can't zoom in and make micro micro millimeter shifts. If you get the focus right, the results are pleasing. I haven't tried it for closer subjects. sent on March 31, 2024 |
![]() | Viltrox AF 13mm f/1.4 Pros: Sharpness, Aperture & Construction Cons: Different color rendering from Fuji optics Opinion: It's not a small lens, it's quite demanding in terms of size, but like many lenses, even full frame, the large aperture, which is not for me a feature sought after in a wide-angle lens, and the performance often involve an increase in size. I prefer it to the Fuji 14mm which was already a good optic. The diaphragm has no click but is a choice. The color rendering is different from that of other Fuji lenses, in fact I use it together with other Viltrox 23, 33, 56 and 85. The price is also affordable and doesn't hurt. sent on March 26, 2024 |
![]() | Viltrox AF 23mm f/1.4 Pros: Well built, solid, manual diaphragms Cons: Less powerful than the brothers 56 MM f 1.8 and 135 mm f 1.8 Opinion: I like the optics, the price quality ratio is good. Not using AFC but only AFS at the center point I did not detect focus problems. The problem is that at F2 compared to the 23 f2 Fujifilm the second is sharper and is also light, I do not need an F 1.4 on a 23 mm that I do not use absolutely for portraits set, at this point I prefer in all the 23m Fujifilm. I keep it because with the brothers 56 mm and 135 mm its color rendering is more homogeneous and avoids me to correct the colors in post as I have to do if I use the 23 mm Fujifilm and mix images of the same subject made with the 23 mm and 56 mm where the difference in color stamp is visible. sent on May 17, 2023 |
![]() | Sainsonic Kamlan 50mm f/1.1 Pros: Price, construction Cons: Surrender Opinion: I'm talking about the first version, it's not worth the 100-200 euros they require, no sharpness, bad edges. I had taken the Canon EOS M model but on the M5 it was really bad. It is true that in the portrait you do not need an absolutely sharp rendering, in some cases flu optics help to hide defects, but here we are talking about a fairly "improvised" optics the design reaches the brightness of F 1.1 but the defects are not correct. sent on May 17, 2023 |
![]() | Sigma SD Quattro Pros: Foveon sensor exceptional micro contrast, collects details that a Bayer has difficulty recording, black white worthy of a monochrome Cons: Color usable up to 100 ISO, in B/W 800, otherwise it is below current average, AF, recording speed, lens available only Sigma, SAF bayonet out of production, old digital viewfinder, need to use SPP Opinion: If it were not for the sensor it would be to be thrown away. But since it has the Foveon sensor it is the machine I use the most. Of course if one earns the loaf with this it is hard to make marriages. But to photograph is an absolute pleasure knowing the limits. The black white is really valid, you can do without editing IR photos. sent on June 04, 2022 |
