![]() | Voigtlander E 110mm f/2.5 Macro Apo-Lanthar Pros: Quality, Sharpness, Macro Function, Small Size, Star on the Lights Cons: Lack of Tropicalization, Lack of Auto Focus Opinion: As always Voigtlander never misses a shot, this for me is the fifth lens of the house that I am going to put in my backpack. The 110mm perfectly completed my kit by adding the possibility of taking some macro and still-life details that is always useful. Lens of the highest quality and sharpness. It suffers slightly from flare but nothing excessive and absolutely manageable. The focus and diaphragm like all Voigtlanders is obviously manual, but being native Sony-E it has the exif data communication chip, so in the display you see the value of the aperture, you see the manual focus bar that moves and you see the lens in the exif data of the raw, which is very important and not at all obvious. The macro function that I will use little, I am not a great expert, but here on Juza I have seen some real masterpieces of the genre. Typical Voigtlander 10-blade diaphragm that produces a starlet on top 10-point lights like all its siblings and which is why I bought it. In portraiture, it produces an "old-fashioned analog" blur that certainly stands out from the new electronic lenses. Rating 10+ lens absolutely recommended but not for everyone!! sent on January 19, 2025 |
![]() | Brightin Star 9mm f/5.6 Pros: Price, possibility of using rear screw filters, at f5.6 it doesn't make stars Cons: suffers from flare, focus, and manual iris Opinion: A unique lens of its kind, which for only about 470 euros allows you to have a full-frame ultra-wide angle in your bag at a very low price, given that its competitor with mirrorless attachment would be the Voigtlander 10mm which costs over a thousand euros. Important to know that these lenses on reflex cameras cannot be used, they are only for sony/canon/nikon/ mirrorless. This lens is completely manual both in focus and in aperture and does not have the electronic data communication chip, so the camera shoots as if it were without a lens and does not know in the exif data which lens you are using. Like all lenses in the world it suffers a bit from flare in backlight, and you have to be careful because sometimes these flares are very invasive and difficult to remove. For the price it costs it is very sharp and suffers little from coma. You can mount 34mm rear screw filters, the parent company provides you with an nd1000, an nd64 and a natural night filter (obviously being rear no polarizer). For lovers of the star around the lights of the street lamps it is a lens that stars exactly like the Voigtlanders, but for those who do not like them, this lens can please everyone, because it starts to star at the f6.3 / 7.1 shot, in fact if used at f5.6, the lights are soft and without any star, ditto the sun during the day against the light. In conclusion, if you have to spend over a thousand euros and want absolute quality, get the Voigtlander, especially if you have a 60mpx machine and you are demanding. If, on the other hand, you want a quality/price compromise and want to spend less than half, being able to use the rear filters as well, then the Brightin Star will be an excellent choice. sent on December 01, 2024 |
![]() | Nikon Z 17-28mm f/2.8 Pros: Low price, Screw filters, Sharp, Flare resistant, Small and light Cons: Obviously it can't go under 17mm but it would be top if it was 15-28 or even 15-24mm Opinion: Having already tried the previous Nikon Z wide-angle lenses the 14-24 f / 2.8 and the 14-30 f / 4 which were both really bad quality and with "coma" present at all apertures, I tried with great interest also this brand new 17-28 f / 2.8. Starting from a focal length a little longer (17mm) it was probably easier to build and in fact I find it a perfect lens. The cost is very different from the other 2, costs almost half and has an excellent value for money. Seeing well the photos produced there is no coma, even at f2.8 works well. The 18-pointed star on the lights is delicate well defined and the lens suffers almost nothing from flare. Mount the convenient screw filters without the obligation to use uncomfortable plates. As weight and size it is little more than a fixed 50ino so it can be said that it is small and light. Who has a mirrorless camera Nikon Z can not do without this lens, also because the other 2 mentioned at the beginning, for me are not to be considered, especially with what they cost I consider them two big flops at Nikon. We hope that the path of quality will be maintained and that 17-28 is just the beginning. sent on October 04, 2023 |
![]() | Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II Pros: Quality, Sharpness, Brightness, Fast AF Cons: Price Opinion: Like all G Master lenses it is a lens of the highest quality and as was to be expected from Sony GM sharp as hell. Surely I see it very useful for those who make portraits and weddings where you take full advantage of being able to go to f2.8 in the portrait and in the need to let in as much light as possible as you shoot freehand. In the landscape I see it less useful because when you do landscape is perhaps better a 100-400 GM with the possibility of going over 200mm. I prefer to have an aperture of f5.6 and go to 400mm (so you always use the tripod) than go to 200mm to f2.8. The focus of the 70-200 II is very fast and does not miss a shot. To date, the focus has never been wrong, which instead on the 100-400 as it is natural that it is is more difficult. Excellent new functions that have included but for what I do I do not find useful and the only downside of this lens is the price, which as usual is a bit high, but on the other hand the prices we can not decide them but the market. A lens so I would like to pay 1800 maximum 2000 euros but this is just my thought. sent on August 09, 2023 |
![]() | DJI Mavic 3 Pros: 4:3 sensor, long battery life, wide radio control range Cons: Price definitely too expensive, inability to make native vertical photos, photos in cut 3:4 Opinion: A drone that is definitely not worth its price, which clearly already from the exit is a little dropped but for the instrument that is, it still remains too expensive. The new Dji Fly software I find it cumbersome and worse than the previous one that was used to pilot the mavic 2. Great performance of the new Sony 4:3 sensor, where clearly increasing the size has also increased the overall quality and also the dynamic range. The batteries are really endless, on average a flight really lasts 30 sometimes even 40 minutes and you forget about the battery problem that runs out. The new remote control is very good and the drone is also piloted from 4km without major problems. I find it serious that DJI introduced bracketing and photomerge months and months after release but better late than never. I would have loved to be able to take classic native photos of 2:3 format, but the mavic 3 unfortunately shoots at 3:4. Vertical photos cannot be done, unless you start doing a photomerge, but being able to do them basic would be a good thing. As sharpness I would say a lot of stuff, but do not close the diaphragm beyond f7 because then comes the diffraction, my way of operating is f2.8 if it is a little dark and f5.6 if it is daytime with strong light. I recommend mounting a true color nisi polarizer or an nd64 for backlight. Quality price at the moment the best drone ever is the Mavic 2 Pro!!! sent on June 16, 2023 |
![]() | Tamron 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD Pros: Great Price, Scary Sharpness, Versatility, Low Weight and Size Cons: The ring and the bracket to balance it on the tripod is purchased separately, the focus could improve Opinion: I looked at this lens immediately as soon as it came out, so I call Sergio from Fotoema to try it immediately and be able to recommend it to all landscape photographers. Tamron as always respects the promises and our expectations. The lens has a very low cost if we think that a similar lens costs twice as much. This telephoto is slightly smaller than the Sony 100-400, it is sharp to die for at all focal lengths, even at 400mm. The ring unfortunately is not included and you have to buy it separately, there is original and also secondary brands but I recommend the original Tamron to have good stability on tripods. Using it a little I noticed with great amazement that even if it is a canvas and even on distant lights pulls to make the stars around the lights of the street lamps, this was a nice surprise, because the canvases generally do not define a large star around the lights. The focus works, it is responsive and quite precise, but compared to the sony it is the only thing I found worse, let's say that on the Tamron 50-400 in addition to being slightly slower it is a little more difficult to hook, but we talk about landscape and in night situations far from easy to deal with. The tropicalization like all Tamrons I think is good enough but I do not have and will not have the opportunity to try it as the lens is in my hands only temporarily. A purchase that I recommend to all those who do not want to spend 2600 euros for the sony 100-400 and also to all those who want to avoid buying in addition to the telephoto also a fixed 85, because with the Tamron 50-400 you are covered up to 50mm!!! sent on May 23, 2023 |
![]() | Sony A7r V Pros: Focus Stacking, Programmable Bulb, Full Touch Screen, Significantly improved external screen, 10 articulated display, Sensor protected when the machine is off by the curtain Cons: It would also be the time of backlit keys or at least that you see in the dark in some way, Battery that lasts less, cf slow and too expensive Opinion: Awesome machine!! perhaps the biggest jump there has been to date between one A7 and another. Bulb finally programmable in the car without using remote controls or mobile phone, you shoot at 60-90 or as many seconds as you want without problems and quickly without wasting time. Finally in the Sony world we have the focus stacking in the car. The external display as well as being articulated and adjustable in a thousand ways has also been improved as a dynamic range of reproduction, in a few words you can see much better the photos taken. Finally and I repeat finally with the machine off the curtain comes down covering the sensor and protecting it while changing the lenses so it does not get dirty. In time bracketing there are some more variations and there are also 7 shots while before from 5 you jumped to 9. The exposure compensation wheel ranges from -5 to +5 whereas before it only went from -3 to +3. We can find a complete touch screen both for the menu and for shooting and focusing. The possibility of mounting the CF does not attract me much because this type of cf are very expensive and much slower than the classic CF, in fact I recommend using the SD of the Sony class G tough series those from 200 euros to be clear. The menu similar to that of Sony A1 and A9 has been completely redone and in my opinion improved and enriched with many new features. Downsides besides the price? The keys that unfortunately do not light up, the raw file that I would have expected at 16bit instead we still talk about 14bit like all past Sony, and the battery that runs out a little earlier than an A7R IV. Machine that I absolutely recommend buying. sent on December 18, 2022 |
![]() | Samyang AF 24mm f/1.8 FE Pros: Tropicalization, low price, lightness, possibility of mounting screw filters, autofocus, led light for focusing on infinity Cons: very light coma in the edges only at full aperture between 1.8 and 2.8, over disappears completely Opinion: I have been trying the lens for some time and I must say that compared to the past Samyang has made great strides. Now we have not only tropicalized lenses but also equipped with autofocus. In this model of the Tiny series we also have a particular function that with an LED that lights up either red or green, indicates the correct focus on infinity. The lens suffers from a very slight coma visible only at very open apertures of f/1.8-2.8 but which lens is exempt from it?? It resists very well to flares almost to avoid the problem altogether. Great sharpness and great image quality in all situations and at all apertures. Suitable not only for landscape designers but also for other genres. sent on July 21, 2021 |
![]() | Voigtlander (E, VM) 10mm f/5.6 Hyper-Wide-Heliar Pros: Push focal, lightness and very small footprint Cons: inability to use screw filters, expensive price, light coma in the edges Opinion: Like all Voigtlander lenses, we are talking about an extraordinary goal, unfortunately it does not come cheap, new is not located below a thousand euros, but at least it exists with native Sony e-mount attachment and is used without adapters. it is a very sharp and performing lens, if you work during the day with closed diaphragm it is fine, if you work with an all-open diaphragm of f5.6 there is a very small phenomenon of coma in the edges, but all in all at 10mm it is also there. As can already be seen from the name of the lens you can not open more than f5.6 and in fact it is not a lens for the night in total darkness, but for daytime photos, sunsets and bright cityscapes. It resists flares very well and is small and light, these I think are very important characteristics for those who move, travel and carry a lot of weight. I know about a version 2.0 of this lens, but I never had a chance to see it and touch it again. sent on April 14, 2021 |
![]() | Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM Pros: Sharpness, flare resistance, autofocus, material quality Cons: price :-), inability to mount screw filters Opinion: Huge lens, long awaited in the house of all Sonyists!!! it was just missing something of quality and ultra-wide angle very bright and with this 12-24 g master f/2.8 Sony just closed the circle. Of course the price is not cheap, but over time it will come down and for the moment I can say that it is more than justified. We are talking about a Sony lens, but G Master, so top quality!! The sharpness is exceptional as always in all Sony/Zeiss lenses, in the edges works very well, I can say that in my opinion does not suffer from coma, and I tried it on r IV, where with 61mpx if there are problems emerge immediately. The brightness is the highlight of this lens, which at the same time does not even suffer from flare. I was really amazed when at night, in front of the strong lights of Manarola and Vernazza, it did not produce the slightest flare!! Amazing!! Even the weight in the end is not excessive, because we stay under the kg with its 847g, and the clutter is the minimum union that a lens so can give. Compared to its peers (es tamron 15-30) the lens is much smaller and lighter. Finally, closing the diaphragm, it has a wonderful star, the tips alternate, a longer one and a shorter one, really a note of character of this lens that will surely distinguish it among all in time. I received it in rehearsal to test it and review it, after a few hours I decided not to return it and to keep it :-) sent on August 22, 2020 |
![]() | Voigtlander VM Nokton Vintage 75mm f/1.5 Aspherical Pros: Light weight, small size, exemplary sharpness, 12-pointed star Cons: Like all Voigtlanders, it costs and lacks autofocus but it's not a problem :-) Opinion: Slow as usual with exceptional features, as sharp as all Voigtlanders and sharp as a blade. This lens is native Leica VM and fits wanting on Sony Mirrorless e-mount attack, via the close focus ring, which is the same one that is used to adapt the 40mm Heliar. We see that for the star unlike the classic 10-pointed Voigtlander in this case we find 2 more and we count 12 tips, always all beautiful sharp. I'm not fond of very open diaphragm photos but also at f/1.5, f/1.8 seems to work very well by returning in the portrait a soft and very vintage bokeh. sent on June 18, 2020 |
![]() | Voigtlander E 21mm f/3.5 Color-Skopar Aspherical Pros: Sharpness, Colors, Light Weight, Small Size, Precious Materials Cons: Manual lens, no automation and no autofocus Opinion: This lens, like any Voigtlander lens, is synonymous with a very high quality, both of construction and therefore of used materials and of final rendering in the image. Surely the peculiarity of this lens is its beautiful 10-pointed star on the lights, due to the typical Voigtlander diaphragm. Incredible and sharp ness to all diaphragms, these lenses seem not to know what diffraction is!! No flare problem and chromatic aberration!! A "negative" note is that they are all generally dark lenses f/4-5.6 and completely manual both as diaphragms (you have to turn the dial) and as focus, however we have an electronic connection with the machine and then the parameters are read in the exif data and it is stored to what diaphragm we were working on. The prices of these lenses in my opinion are quite low for the very high quality they give. Today 2 March 2020 I own 3 Voigtlander lenses with great satisfaction! sent on March 02, 2020 |
![]() | Voigtlander (VM, E) 40mm f/2.8 Heliar Pros: image quality, sharp sharpness, small and light Cons: has no contact with the machine so it's completely a manual optics Opinion: An exceptional leic attack (vm) lens from true connoisseurs, perfect sharpness even in the edges, does not suffer from flare or in general some defects. it's a really pocket-sized, comfortable and lightweight optics. On Sony e-mount sits, but through an adapter called "Adatt Ring. bai-M (VM) to Sony E close focus." The typical voigtlander 10 tips of these lenses are very unique in the world!! an opticthat that can certainly not be missing in the backpack. sent on February 27, 2020 |
![]() | Sony FE 2.0x Pros: Sharpness, lightness, little footprint, right price Cons: Lose a few light stops Opinion: A Fantastic multiplier, you lose absolutely nothing on the sharpness, and even the autofocus responds well by doing its job. The only downside is that if you mount es on 100-400 the normal f/5.6 become f/11 and you lose a little light but it's normal on all multipliers it's like that. Great performance not only in portraiture and photographic hunting, but also in the landscape, where both 700 and 800mm take home great images, sharp and of excellent quality. I tried both the 1.4x and the 2x and I chose to buy the 2x, initially I thought it was losing something as many people think but it wasn't like that. A tip, when using it you never go to the maximum focal of the lens, that is, if you use it on a 70-200mm push it to 150-180mm, if you use it on a 100-400mm go no more than 350mm. sent on December 28, 2019 |
![]() | Sony A7r IV Pros: 61 megapixels, improved keys and dier, removed the problem of hot pixels Cons: nobody but the high price obviously Opinion: Finally Sony was able to do even more, taking the previous A7r III, solving the known hot pixel problems, increasing the megapixels succeeding with a new sensor of 61 not to increase the level of digital noise, indeed to lower it and to be able to give a Satisfying dynamic range to the file, you manage to recover at night up to 2-3 stops without problems. The body that already on the r3 was perfect, is improved even more, making more secure and sealed the various buttons and ghieres that to the touch seem softer and more fluid in movements. Autofocus screams as always, with joystick dedicated to moving the maf point, and double SD slot to work safely with 1 backup copy. The digital viewfinder has been increased in definition and level of noise sealing, in the usual situation where r3 does not arrive or comes to us showing a ruined image xche' night, the r4 makes you see them better. In short, they created a monster really this time, machine with incredible performances. sent on September 23, 2019 |
![]() | Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Pros: Sharpness, long focal, Fast Focus, Stabilizer. Cons: The only flaws and I would say necessarily of things given the type of lens, weight and footprint. Opinion: This lens is incredible, worthy of bearing the name of G Master, although it is not. It tops all focal points, and even at full 600mm zoom is sharp to die for. It suffers slightly like all lenses the diffraction, if brought to f16, while at f5.6-9 is like a razor blade. The focus despite the very long focal is as bright and responsive as a typical 70-200 tele lens. Effective stabilizer doing its job. In short, an extraordinary objective canvas, even its price is not bad especially if we talk about quality-price is taken very well. sent on July 22, 2019 |
![]() | Sony FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA Sonnar T* Pros: Sharpness, light weight, little footprint, high-performance focus, colors Cons: none, except the price a little high, but indeed like all top optics :-) Opinion: Big 50ino, which has nothing to envy to the various sigma art except their bokeh and blur to f1.4. The 55 zeiss sonnar f1.8 is an optic that has an incredible sharpness and chromatic rendering, a focus that never misses a beat, even in situations of little light. Unlike many similar optics, it does not suffer from back-front focus and never needs to be calibrated, with ring adapter you can safely mount screw filters from 77-82mm. Definitely a lens that for a sony user should never miss in the backpack! sent on July 04, 2019 |
![]() | Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8 Pros: Sharpness, focus screen, fast and performance, brightness, closed diaphragm star, tropicalization, lens construction quality Cons: I would say none, but I'll say a few small flares at night and finally just the fact that like all sony and zeiss lenses if you're at 42mpx at f/13-16 you're a bit already in ffraction but little stuff. it would be nice if the voigtlander didn't suffer from anything. Opinion: Big lens, used by me on both Sony A7r II, A7 III and A7r III. Sharpness is its strong point, followed by the overall quality of the lens and the performance autofocus. very bright lens, not like so many lenses that on paper are declared f/2.8 and then maybe they are not. I'd buy it over 100 more times, and I'm never going to walk away. I captured my most beautiful landscapes with this lens. sent on July 04, 2019 |
![]() | DJI Mavic 2 Pro Pros: High-performance dynamic range sensor, 20MPX, adjustable-diaphragm Hasselblad camera, highest ISO seal. Cons: Limit of bracketing to 5 max shots, missing portrait mode for vertical photos, the automatic photomerge only makes them in JPEG. Opinion: In my opinion the Mavic 2 Pro is the best drone ever.. If we make a mix between size-quality-price.. Compared to the Mavic 1 Pro I find it very quiet, faster and with more battery autonomy. Also improved the radio signal with more range of operation and video signal on the smartphone/tablet in high definition. The recovery of light and shadows of the raw file is incredible, as well as the sharpness of the photos. It holds very well both ISO 400 and ISO 800, the Mavic 1 only held ISO 100 (of course in my opinion). In the video is very good but not being a video maker and making very few do not express myself. sent on October 19, 2018 |
