![]() | Canon 5D Mark IV Pros: Recovering shadows and ease of manipulation, improving light meter, touch Cons: Maybe lacking in 4 k video but not making videos. Opinion: a few weeks ago I replaced my 5d3 with 105,000 shots and I switched to the mkiv. As a second body I decided to hold my 5 d 2, with 30,000 shots and that anyway for certain types of photos still has a lot to say. The body is slightly smaller and lighter than previous versions, quieter shutter. The resistive touch screen is convenient and "spoils" for (taking in hands other bodies it is natural to use your fingers to flip through photos, menus etc, as we do now with many other device). Interesting shooting in live v by tapping the screen. Wi-Fi and connection are another upgrade. The gps I do very little. The menus are pretty much unchanged as well as the location of the keys that allows you to open the box and get up and running in seconds without having to study manuals. In the viewfinder, you can insert the electronic level in addition to many other info that may help in the composition. The gust speed has made great strides compared to the mkiii. Where do I find instead much difference is on the reliability of the meter. I took moltebfoto backlight and the results were excellent. Never wrong and post retrieving well light and shade. The 30 MP you notice it when you are saving files in jpg remember to lower the resolution a bit otherwise it becomes difficult to even publish the same on juza because you exceed 20 MB easily granted and then reopen the file to save them a bit lighter. The definition helps naturally in crop. Getting file so detailed I realized that the 79-200 2.8 ii wasn't as accurate as I thought. A Room Service tour along with the body made me an exceptional combination. It's well worth the change from 3 to 4. I say Yes. There are many differences. Clear, as I have already said in the introduction, that some photographs, get even with the mk2, especially with lenses like the 135 l optimal under certain lighting conditions, I think it's impossible to tell the difference. However, in low light, tough contrasts, etc, has 4 gears. I had been tempted to take a 1dx2 used, but not doing sport and BirdLife have preferred to take a new body that still turns out to be a very good handyman, without distorting in all genres. Indeed. Today is well below the 3,000 euros and I think it's worth them all. sent on April 14, 2018 |
![]() | Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II USM Pros: Robustness, sharpness, speed and AF reliability Cons: The weight, but on lenses of this focal length with this quality is a certain fact that is known even before the purchase Opinion: I arrived to buy this lens after passing for the first series Tamron and for the first 100/400 series. I have never used the other two lenses because I have excellent fixtures like the 85 1.2 L and the 135 L f2 and therefore except on rare occasions where the flexibility of the zoom was winning, I always preferred the fixed .rnPoi one morning I I was convinced to replace the pompone with the 100/400 ii of which everyone speaks very well. Entered the store I reasoned for a long time on the matter and at the end I opted for the biancone adding a 2x multiplier. The reason for this choice is due to the fact that for the moment I do not make nature and sports photography and then for the little that happens to me when I mount the multiplier I still have a 140-400 f5.6 that has nothing to envy the pompone, but 'removed the small barrel I have a fantastic lens with clarity and quality' to sell. It is not comparable to the first series Tamron, the gap is huge. I use it on 5d3 and the results are excellent. But we must not approachi to its use thinking of the stabilizer and therefore losing sight of the shutter speed. Using it in critical conditions I "lost" sight of the shutter speed and even though the pictures seemed to be clear when I downloaded them, I was disappointed, there was so much shake. I had the doubt that the lens suffered from problems of af, or that the stabilizer did not work well, also because a few days before I had fallen as I descended from a large truck with the backpack remained open. He made a nice thump on the asphalt, however, with a slight scratch on the hood. I then called some friends more experienced than me to ask for advice. The stabilizer is so quiet that I thought it did not work at all. Then I tested the lens at the bottom of the stand and then freehand framing small subjects like a coin 4 meters away and the response was excellent. My mistake was to use it two days later to photograph the Christmas performances in schools. The first time I was therebacklighting and then I resorted to the use of flash and the results obtained were exciting, beautiful colors, sharpness at the highest levels. The next day I found myself in another location, with the natural light angled much better and moreover I could not use the flash because a videographer was instructed to shoot a video. And here I had to cheat, because I chose to work in AV with ISO A, often having to change position to resume the various scenes. I then found many shots to 1/80, however, are too few for children who do not run even if they do not stop a second even if the script plans to remain static. Moreover, to not impale the rooms I have almost always taken sitting on the ground, in unlikely positions. It would have been enough to set the minimum speed of the shutter to 1/125 and I would have got 99% of the clear and perfect photos. For the rest, the lens has already been multi-made by excellent photographers. I match it with the 24-70 2.8 is ii which obviously is his ideal companion, slipping into his pocketthe small multiplier with only 2 objectives can leave for a trip with the awareness of being covered on all fronts and above all with lenses of the highest quality that have nothing to envy to the landlines, naturally to the same openings. rnSomeone claims that setting it to 135 mm is identical for yield at 135 f2. I have doubts, the 135 remains unbeatable for me and especially for three-dimensionality and of course weight and size. And 'comhnque a must have among the first to buy for the kit. I wanted to write among the flaws the white color that makes him notice a lot and then you risk a little 'anti "paparazzo" reaction of the people, but I did not because it is the color that characterizes the canvas and supertele Canon and then it would not make much sense. I like white and if I see another photographer with something white next to me I am attracted and try to understand what he is mounting. sent on January 14, 2018 |
![]() | Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM II Pros: Sharpness, colors, brightness, constructive quality. AF speed and precision. Cons: Nothing that is not the known limits of a zoom with this focal length. Price. Opinion: I had for years 24-105 L, it was the first L series optics I purchased, I used it first on 100d, then on 6d and finally on 5diii. An excellent handyman, practical and robust, well-established, beautiful photos .... but ...! It was always that "but" that made me read hundreds and hundreds of reviews, tests, tests, forums, and discussions. Having also the tamron 70-200 2.8 I was close to buying the smallest brother to side with insulone. But then I've read all about it (not very precise and undecided, especially in low light conditions, clear up to 50 but not beyond, etc.) and eventually I took the step and chose Canon again. I had to test it a little more yesterday, at the ceremony of a baptism of a granddaughter. What to say, has nothing to do with 24- 105. It's a lens on another planet. It is true that it is shorter than 35 mm but it is also true that from 70 onwards the F4 is really not very sharp and above all incalculable. rnI took the full service without flash, in a naturally lit church, alternating only with 135 f2. The photos I just downloaded are all of great quality. The colors are very beautiful and truthful. Excellent sharpness. Great blur. Of course the limit is the lack of a stabilizer that, with little light, makes you risk the microregion. I solved this problem by setting the minimum speed to 1/160 by working in the AV and with automatic ISO limiting at 6,400. The photos taken were all very good, without requiring particular PP. And those to be discarded are only for my composure errors, timing, dirty shots etc.ecc. Similar situations only happen when using slow lenses such as L 85 1.2, 135 2.0 and why not tamron 70.200 2.8. RnWould you then spend more than twice to buy this zoom compared to tamron? I can not tell why I did not try. I just know that everyone says Canon is the best. The dxomark site is one point for Canon's benefit. Other proofs are always winning the Canon. ValgusDo these 800 benefits and pass the euro? Doubt I do not know how to answer, but I still preferred not to overwhelm the problem and I went to the original, to avoid then wanting to resell the tamron one day to try this decanted lens. Now I'm sure, after testing it, that I have mounted Canon's best zoom in this focal range on the camera. If I want to have more, I just have to fix it, but the practicality and versatility of zoom in certain situations, such as ceremonies and events, are absolutely winning. Is it worth giving away the 24/105 to a few hundred euros to move on to this optic? Everyone may be the preferred answer. I absolutely believe it just as it was going from 100d to 6d and then to 5diii .... and maybe tomorrow at 1d mk XX? At certain levels, the benefits are never proportional to spending and less than ever in photography, especially in the digital era, but this is known. sent on May 14, 2017 |
![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Macro Pros: Absolute cost, detail and sharpness, weight and grip really limited Cons: Slow and noisy auto focus. Opinion: I have bought this optic for a few months, paying it a stupid thing. It is worth all the money spent. The magnification on ff arrives at 0.5 X even if the body indicates the notches 1/1, but to get them I was told it was necessary to mount the special converter. Without it's great for Still Life and "set" macro of subjects not really tiny like snails, large grasshoppers, lizards, flowers, etc. Assembled on aps-c the crop factor makes it much more interesting for insect photos. R Very bright and light. The only flaw The autofocus naturally of the old generation is noisy and slow. However, it is a great fifty that is well defended for generic use. RnrnSu 5d is disproportionately small on 7dii and it's definitely cooler. RnrnThe diaphragm closes a lot so you do not have great depth field problems. rnrnConsigliatissimo. You can always keep it in the ready-to-use bag. sent on May 10, 2017 |
![]() | Canon EF 135mm f/2.0 L USM Pros: Sharpness, three-dimensional, color, weight Cons: Narrow field of use Opinion: My e 'an opinion of course compared to the experience and personal skills Passionate about portraits I have a good kit which also includes Tamron 70/200 f2.8 vc and the Canon L 85 1.2. . Among these three lenses, which use on 5diii, the 135 is definitely the least flexible and practical. Not hide a zoom and 'much more practical and versatile than a fixed focal species to these. My Tamron defends already many good and often thought to leave only the 85, and that 'can also be used in confined spaces and sell the 135 and tammy to take the Canon 70/200 2.8 ii .... but then I just reuse it once to change his mind. The 135 and 'unique. I got to shoot with friends who used both the 100 f.2.8 macro that 70/200 ii 2.8, but there is no 'history. The 135 has on his incredible three-dimensionality, a very soft blurry that because of its focus is more evident than that of the 85 (naturally aperture equal), then it produces fileswith a detail and definition beautiful and ready to use, without having to resort to post production. To all this must be added a to f fast and accurate which makes it a lens for "stolen sports or portraits". L 85 1.2 and 'certainly magic but to exploit its true magic you have to do work in critical conditions: where others do not have the history Vetrone 1 kg from the best, but the slow af make a photo objective laid . The 135 on the other hand is' instantaneous and responsive especially if you set the mode dial to put long-distance focus. Stabilizer I never missed since at f2 and 'already a blade and raising a little' ISO shutter speeds are always more than enough. Montandogli an extension tube also becomes a beautiful macro, but already not able to take pictures of flowers and small objects wonderful. rnConosco very experienced photographers who bought and resold the lens 3 times because it is certainly very very specific and to use it by buI need a lot of space and length, that there is often no ', but once proven they can not help it. And lastly 'to remember that its weight, size and color do camouflage much better than a zoom (with Biancone and' impossible not to be noticed) and does not create problems to the neck. In my "imaginary professional" outfit I think he can not fail but it is to be used alternately to a 24/70 ii 2.8, preferably on another body. If the budget is not a problem and 'definitely a must have for a portrait together with the' 85 1.2. rn sent on March 06, 2017 |
![]() | Canon 5D Mark III Pros: Auto focus, build quality, ease of menu Cons: Lack wi-fi Opinion: I state that I am not a professional so I do amateur use. I got to take the 5d iii me because a friend was buying the MK IV and then by our reference shopkeeper we gave in behind my 6d and with a few hundred euro of difference I could make the leap. My more than a review and 'a comparison 6d / 5d, of course compared to my fotoamatoriale experience. Taking it in hand, I immediately felt at ease because of the Canon menu structure and 'very similar, the difference real' that only the menu of af has pages of entire menu of 6d, with all the various conceivable adjustments. Taking the first pictures of those who are known and 'the sound of the click is completely different between the two machines. Static images are more or less the same level, but the 5diii not mistaken L exposure as often makes the younger sister to another without following a real logic. The 5d and 'much more even thoughthe monitor may seem otherwise. Let me explain with 6d watching to monitor shots all look beautiful, then maybe downloading of computer is also disappointed, the 5d moves less on the small screen, maybe it's' a matter of brightness and settings. L f and 'another planet, with only 6d I shot with the center which then combines the L image, this is fine for static subjects, but take some pictures to my kids became really a fighter .... and often were winning in my children . Another great advantage and 'ISO sensitivity that you can simply extend to the ISO 50 and then go up dramatically, although I do not think pay to go beyond 25,000. The shutter speeds up to 1/8000 are another good reason to take this machine which in addition has a magnesium body and weather protection. The joystick and 'very practical. Needless to mention the dual-board benefits, the true HDR, 6d it does so only in jpeg and without creative possibilities. The only drawback is' perhaps the Wi-Fi that with6d allowed to remotely trigger via tablet and see the previews. However, there are cinesate that with a few tens of euro resolve the problem. Now that most photographers are changing machine for mk IV will make some real bargains and I honestly could not be a better time to buy this gem. sent on February 05, 2017 |
![]() | Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro Pros: Constructive quality, incredible magnifications without the need for additional accessories Cons: Difficulty of use, short distance focus, hard-to-get-out. Opinion: I bought this used optics, fascinated by the photos taken. Once mounted on my 6d I had to tune not only to figure out just how to focus the subject to be framed, an operation that should be done simply by approaching or moving the lens and then the machine because the ring actually acts only on the enlargements by stretching the lens that Closed has a 1/1 ratio and elongated 1 to 5. All this freehand involves a real treasure hunt in the viewfinder. If you can never point the subject out of the "nothing" and scare you too! The depth of field is very limited already to the lens closed at 1 / 1 and photographing Very small objects like the face of a lego doll, you have to focus your eyes and you will get a portrait with a gorgeous bocked. For 1/1 it can still be used without flash or additional lights, but after 2 days I went to buy an annular macro flash that becomes indispensable also thanks to the pilot light that facilitates hunting all framedra. RnAnd working beyond the ratio 1/1 also change the relationship with the diaphragm completely disfiguring the relationship with the various "f" because, from what I understand, they also multiply .... and you have to experience the right opening finding the Best compromise between detail, diffraction, depth of field. If you photograph something bigger than the needle of a needle, you need to use the not very easy technique of focus stacking. To do this, you need to equip yourself with quality micrometric slides, because with the economical and medium-level ones (including manfrotto) you only work 1/1, after serving something stable and precise, very accurate. By contacting here some makers of the site, I found that they use lab accessories such as Newport San Diego sleds costing hundreds of euros. There are also motorized systems that speed up operations. I, while waiting to buy a motorized sled, I have realized a craftsman's bench with precision linear guides and aThreaded bar to which I then applied a large adjustment knob with an indicator, and with the help of an old stand, I started experimenting with the first stacking focus, getting encouraging results but still far from the photos you see here published . The slide works well, but the real difficulty is to place the bug properly, illuminate it etc etc. Because as already mentioned in magnifying enlargements, the focusing distance with the subject becomes dim, and so the annular flash touches the plane of support of the subject, the tailgate, etc. and hinders the operations. We need to work surgically with tweezers and a lot of patience. All this is simple by photographing dead objects or animals. With living beings, you really need to be very good and expert in speeding up all the operations, and then it is essential to have a complete micrometric equipment, a 2-axle sledge, a rackhead, etc. It is, however, incredible that it will make you spend the whole dayBorn also photograph a simple dead fly. sent on February 02, 2017 |
