sigma_24-105osSigma 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM Art

Pros: Versatility, stabilization, sharpness and almost all-rounder for my "doing"

Cons: Compared to the average Nikkor: heavier, consumes more battery, more bulk.

Opinion: I waited about 6 months after purchase and some testing on my "battlefields" before adding my opinion as a basic amateur photographer. In summary I am very satisfied: sold a pair of Nikkor lenses in combination with the D7500 that I thought from kit, I took two separate lenses of Sigma the 17-50 f / 2.8 and to always have the Nikon ready to use this 24-105 f / 4.0. I consider it very valid for impromptu photos on the go, with a focal length that allows me to adequately cover both the landscapes and any details; I tested it in the studio for portraiture one of my favorite fields. I was definitely amazed by its sharpness and versatility in covering the different poses, especially if you are shooting shared with tight technical times. The aperture at f/4.0 in the studio is more than enough, sometimes even at f/5.6 finding it unnecessary to go looking for generous openings that are unnecessary except in the portrait set. I also tested it on the track in Monte Carlo and even with the modest telephoto at the maximum excursion to 105mm the stabilizer did its duty by giving me clear and good images even during any cropping. Very pleasant to the touch from a sense of total robustness, excellent dislocation of the keys as well as the fluidity of the zoom and maf in manual. If I really have to go looking for cons, the Sigma 24-105 is not a featherweight and in the picnics around the neck it makes itself felt after a while, as well as its use tends to consume a little more battery than the average Nikkor lenses. The diameter of the focal length is 82mm, in the bag it does not create problems, a little more if you take away in ungenerous spaces such as small backpacks. Very satisfactory price quality for what I mean, happy with the purchase.

sigma_17-50_f2-8_osSigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM

Pros: Quality at an affordable, sharp, well-built price

Cons: Ridiculous hood, at f/2.8 I expected more...

Opinion: I bought it used, in "excellent condition" at a price that for my wallet I consider cheap. For now I have not yet used it to its full potential but the purchase was generated by the need to have a multifocal to be used in portraiture set, where I have to have a good brightness and a marked detachment between the subject and the context while not completely losing all the reading of the image. I used it mainly for some portraits at the fair in Milan and it did not give me back that feeling I expected, I found too much difference with the fixed focal length so it cannot become a replacement for Serie A, but it certainly remains in the bag for specific needs. Different speech with regard to the landscape and the street where in addition to an excellent stabilization, I found a sharpness decidedly superior to the lenses I previously owned all of Nikon at entry level or not far from there. A higher quality is also combined with a decidedly higher weight that if mounted on a reflex is felt, I dare not imagine on certain ML from the featherweight. The only negative and almost grotesque aspect for Sigma quality is the hood of very bad workmanship and at least in my case from the difficult gear as basic as it is.

nikon_85_f1-8gNikon AF-S 85mm f/1.8 G

Pros: Price, bokeh, bright, portable

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: Bought after the 50ino for pure female portrait use, mounted on the Nikon D7500 makes me the function of the 135. Excellent for American planes and not only, put to the test I seem to have the older brother of the 50mm but "pushes" even more in terms of bokeh and sharpness. The weight / bulk is absolutely modest compared to other optics, as already noted although the focus is fast, sometimes it loses track on the minimum distance, but personally for the type of photo I do I can adapt quickly. Since I have the 50mm/85mm pairing during the shoots I let go of the multifocals, I often interchange the lenses perhaps too much, but being extremely light and versatile I prefer to take home photos in combos. The shots in raw with this lens are very well manageable in post thanks to their shine. Great price considering the quality and competition.

nikon_50_f1-8gNikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G

Pros: Bokeh effect, weight, brightness, preZZo

Cons: It's a 50 and some of it raises its nose,

Opinion: Wanting to spend little I had bought the Yongnuo 50mm, "I will almost never use it", I told myself. Instead I was wrong, lasted very little made in Shenzen, I thought well to move on to the nikon house, just so as not to patch. Mounted on a Nikon7500, the 50mm becomes a 75mm, so at this focal point it turns into a nice game for portraits and thanks to the bokeh effect, even more accentuated than the predecessor, it allows you to make excellent portraits in poor light conditions, or in any case use it in full or "American" without compromise. Really unbeatable price for the quality of the object: with a little desire it is found in several sites at prices almost used, but instead "brand new". Don't have it in your bag, it's a crime.

nikon_afs18-140Nikon AF-S 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR

Pros: Price, Good for all seasons, is a Nikon.

Cons: At this preZZo, nothing.

Opinion: I waited a while, I would say quite a bit, to write my opinion on this lens that I bought apart after the body of the D-7500. It is an all-rounder lens that undoubtedly, if I had to go out one day without being able to carry my backpack with the Kit, it would be the chosen focal point to insert in the bayonet. The reason is soon said: where and how you put it, it almost never disappoints you and allows you to cover a huge multitude of nesses without disfiguring, from the panorama, to the detail, to the portrait. It is true, you pay in brightness, but on balance also evaluating the weight on the chamber, I challenge you to find a more versatile optics. I do not have the technical skills to unroll defects that I cannot perceive, but as above, it is difficult to find a Nikon lens or the next competition, at this price with these characteristics. The lampshed, which I broke on a trip, I bought it online for 3 euros, just for...

yongnuo_50_f1-8iiYongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II

Pros: Price, opening at f1.8, handling

Cons: Breaks after a short time, virtually non-existent assistance: a lottery

Opinion: In the "against" there is already everything I would/I could say. More for fun than anything else, the "fifty" in question does his honored work very well. It is found online from different parts, as well as numerous reviews on the "tube". Considering the opening to F1.8, it takes us away from embarrassment in different situations, in my kit made mainly by targets with variable focals that pay inevitably in the opening, having not spent a fortune, this product of Yongnuo, is wonderful. The weight is paltry, mounted on the D7500, becomes a handbag compact. Update 10/10/20: Lasted less than 2 months. I just put the "against" in.

tamron_70-300vcTamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD

Pros: Autofocus - Price - Q/P Stabilizer

Cons: Weight (perhaps)

Opinion: I have not made so many shots and above all I have not yet used it on my personal battlefield (in F.1 circuit mainly) to give an all-round judgment. Anyway I wanted to make an upgrade to my Nikon d7500 compared to the previous material, and I found a good compromise with this Tamron without having to faint, having not only the photo as Hobby. The stabilizer struck me positively in the first place, but also the focus I found it reactive, at least compared to my past as a photo amateur. With a machine-like machine gun in the D7500, I needed a little object like that... waiting for more in-depth analysis, for now satisfied. Only downside is probably the weight that could on an internal day of shooting annoy, but I resumed in the gym with the weights...

nikon_d7500Nikon D7500

Pros: Sensor quality, ergonomics, battery life, price, and it's a Nikon !

Cons: Maybe and I say maybe, the online bluetooth and wifi procedure is to be reviewed, trigger mode selector with clutch, not entirely intuitive.

Opinion: These are my very first impressions of the d7500, a great Nikon home machine that has its strong points in the sensor and speed of the shot. I am not a professional but the use is completely amateur: my shots are mainly portraits and sports cars (Formula 1 at 90%), so speed is everything, and although it causes Covid-19 I could only do simulation tests, the d7500 impressed me positively and beyond. The handling is optimal, I consider it a plus, since when I use it on the track or in car/moto fairs, I have it on my hands for several hours. The improved autofocus in so many respects with more points, many more points than the d90 where I come from, does not have an amazing speed for now, but only a natural improvement over my previous Nikon. The ability to use a varied world of optics is another point in its favor, as well as instructions with high-size characters in the generous display-video, even because of age close to 50, has lost some autofocus points in the eyes. The price has dropped considerably since the launch being a Nikon of 2017, and today it is at a price that define interesting, it is to say the least. In many reviews on youtube have "spomped" me with the series of the lack of the second slot and the battery grip: for my use, not tange at all.

tamron_70-300macroTamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro

Pros: Phantasmagoric preZZo from new for the product, lightness, friendly use.

Cons: Except for the bayonet, plastic dominates unchallenged.

Opinion: At this price, it's no wonder you don't have knockout optics on your hands. But it's also true that Tamron's nearest upgrade makes the wallet open three times, so I think the quality research talk is avoidable, but reading some comments it seems that the company has produced total crap, but it is not. Then, just look at the photos taken below, to get an idea, of how important are the active neurons of the taker of the photo, of the euros paid for the lens that will reflect our image. Personally I am satisfied by the use that I make especially on the track for Formula One, where in Monte Carlo in principal mode, I find myself shooting in often prohibitive conditions (in the midst of the people, among the protective nets, transennial, in the middle of the bushes on the hill, among the moorings of the yachts) and I must have a light equipment, easily maneuverable and free of supercazzole and that if even takes a shot , all right anyway, because the blow doesn't make him take it to me... The speed of zooming is not great but it is also true that in these years of photos lost at the end of the accounts were few, the brightness will not be excellent, but I repeat in my case I often shoot in the time range from 12.00 to 15.00 and those times I used it for some portraits from afar, it did not behave so bad as to shout at the scandal. A plus is definitely the possibility of the Macro option, I have used it a few times, but it is pleasant and already at a meter it is appreciated... I have a picture of a hornet at the Aeolians for example.
