![]() | Samyang AF 18mm f/2.8 FE Pros: Sharp, compact, lightweight Cons: Yield at the extreme edges questionable. Strong "crushing" of the image. Problems connecting to the camera Opinion: It would be a gem, but the one I bought on Amazon, mounted on Sony A7RIII, opened and closed the aperture sometimes incorrectly, over- or underexposed, and only by recomposing the image or pressing the shutter button again you arrived after a few attempts to have the correct exposure. Returned to Amazon who refunded me the price without batting an eyelid. sent on September 01, 2023 |
![]() | Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Pros: Sharp, well stabilized, solid. Indistinguishable, in terms of result, from fixed focal lengths. Cons: Lack of diaphragm ring, heaviness (but it is justified by robustness). Opinion: I've owned it for about a year, and it's surprisingly good, on both the A7 III and A7R III. It is relatively bulky and heavy, but the body is metallic and properly built, so this can be forgiven. I don't think there are equivalent lenses for Sony that offer that much. The price is a bit high, but with Sony it is so. Uato can be a great deal. sent on April 05, 2023 |

![]() | Fujifilm X-H1 Pros: Solid as a tank, very quiet. excellent image quality. Right controls in the right place. Good grip. Very quiet. Cons: Weight. Battery life. Opinion: I'have owned an X-H1 for a couple of years. I consider it an underestimated camera, because, to evaluate it carefully, it is a true professional in all respects. The body is robust, the focus valid, it is tropicalized. It has an imperceptible mechanical shutter, which allows you to shoot even during a chamber music concert without giving any discomfort. Only two negative notes: the battery life (less than 300 shots) and the weight of the machine, which is a bit high for the mirrorless category. sent on December 09, 2021 |
![]() | Fujifilm XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR Pros: Weight and compactness, optical quality. Perfect focal length for urban photography. Cons: Occasional uncertainties in focus (but we must see the cause). Cost of the original hood. Opinion: I bought it recently to have a lens that would allow me to put the X-T3 in my pocket. I had already owned the non-WR version (however very good), and I find the 27mm focal length ideal for photographing in the city. Moreover, the 27mm WR is a very sharp lens with minimal distortion, which replaces the 35mm or 23mm very well. The fact that it is a 2.8 is completely insignificant for me, because in my opinion more open focal lengths only make sense in portraiture. I happened to notice a bit of "hunting" in the focus, but it could depend on particular factors (subjects with reflections, Fuji focus sometimes a little hesitant) so I do not feel like attributing the problem to the lens. The only flaw is the 19.90 euros to buy the original hood, which is a ridiculous metal ring, like sink tightening ring. The real problem, however, is that once you mount the lens you don't want to replace it with anything else. Habit. sent on December 09, 2021 |
![]() | Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR Pros: Extraordinary optical yield, solidity, WR protection. Cons: Dimensions and weight. Cost. Opinion: I bought this used lens and I was quite wary, but once mounted you immediately realize that you are dealing with a champion, who replaces several fixed optics very well. It is sharp, does not suffer from particular aberrations, has a nice contrast. The focus is fast (I use an X-H1 and an X-T3), only internal stabilization is missing, but all in all it does not seem to me a big problem. It has the only disadvantage of being big and heavy, but, for those who have had a Canon 24-70 or a Nikkor 24-70, it should not be that impressive. sent on November 20, 2021 |
![]() | TTArtisan APS-C 35mm f/1.4 Pros: Pretty sharp, well built but lightweight. The ring of the diaphragms has the shots. It is worth more than the price. Cons: Difficult focus for too short a ride from 3mt to infinity. Totally wrong and unreliable depth of field scale. Chromatic aberration and little resistance to flare. Opinion: I bought this lens about a year ago to mount it on fujifilm X-T3. It is very small, about the same as Fuji's 23mm f.2. It is a sharp and quite contrasted optics, which can give surprising results. The problem is to focus correctly, also because the stroke of the ring is very short and there will be three millimeters of rotation between three meters and infinity. On a mirrorless, keeping the aperture more closed than f.2,8, it becomes a problem to focus with precision. Nor does it help the presence of the depth of field scale printed on the lens, because it is totally fake (in my opinion it corresponds to that of a 24mm). The lens costs around 90 euros, so the presence of chromatic aberration can not be missed, but it corrects itself quite well in the processing phase. More unpleasant the flare against the light, but, as already mentioned, the price is that and you can not have everything from life. sent on November 20, 2021 |
