I had initially said to myself "but what do I take to make another 24-105 f/4 if I already have the almost analogous Sigma ART for Nikon F?". In fact, they're very, very similar as lenses. I don't know if as an optical scheme, I have not gone into optical diagrams or even MTF graphs, but the results are almost similar in real use. I had noticed a certain initial difficulty in managing the depth of field, it seemed to me that "too many things close" came out of focus even at f/8 (!) but I got the hang of it, and maybe I was doing some stupid things myself or I was mismanaging the complicated Autofocus system (although tremendously efficient) of the camera. Do we want to tell him that it is a bit heavy and bulky, as I read in other reviews? Well yes, it is... But patience, given the results and versatility. It solves tons of fine detail, perfect even by "pulling" the resolution (from Raw) a little beyond the nominal 24 mpx. f/4 for me is also a sort of ideal, I don't like to photograph at large apertures, and we are on a camera that, when needed, holds high ISO perfectly. I read that it doesn't solve the 61 mpx well, but I don't have 61 mpx, and one of the problems of the Big-Mpx is precisely this, in addition to the terrifying speed with which they then force you to buy other Hard Disks or a Nas! The stabilizer works well, giving help to that of the Sony A7 III which is more or less the only "weak" point of that camera (it does its job, but it is limited). Vote almost-10. Q/P ratio rating... 11 (well less than the almost 1000 euros it cost alone years ago).

Opinion: For me it is a perfect lens, it covers all the focal lengths I use the most. The build quality is really solid and excellent, and the sharpness is great. The autofocus is fast and accurate. The fact that it's f4 fixed and doesn't close when zooming in is good for me. One does not take this lens to have a 2.8, but to have the most versatile lens possible. However, the blur it reproduces is not bad at all. It certainly has its presence, it is not a small lens but I must say that for me it is a merit, visually it is a "nice" goal.

Opinion: Taken to accompany the 7iii as a handyman, I have used it so far for interior photos for work and a bit of landscaping. It didn't excite me honestly. It's sharp, the colours are generally nice, but nothing to write home about. I notice a slight chromatic aberration on the backlit leaves, a sharp distortion at the edges and the sky tends almost to purple. From so many positive reviews I expected much better. I reserve the right to use it more in the coming weeks, hoping to be able to positively change these impressions.
