tamron_17-28rxdTamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD

Pros: Sharpness, weight, cost.

Cons: Construction.

Opinion: I was looking for a good wide angle to flank the Sony 24-104 F4 on the Sony 7RII, the tarmon did not disappoint my expectations. It is a relatively light lens, well balanced on an ML, with a range of focal lengths perfect for landscape/street photography and reportage use. The lens has a good central sharpness at full aperture, improves at the edges reaching a peak between f5.6 and 8 (aperture that I use most for landscapes). Discreet resistance to flare and backlight. Compared to more "pushed" wide angles (e.g. 12-24/14-24) the possibility of mounting screw filters with a diameter of 67mm is a plus to be taken into account. The only negative aspect concerns the construction, the lens if on the one hand is very light, on the other it seems to be made of rather cheap materials. Surely there will be better wide angles, but considering the combination of price, weight, dimensions and performance, the Tamron can be a winning choice.

tamron_35_f2-8iiiTamron 35mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2

Pros: Sharpness, flare resistance, macro capacity, weight, tropicalization, cost

Cons: MAF speed, footprint for a 2.8 iris lens

Opinion: I write my first impressions after a few months from the purchase of the Tamron and after trying it in different photo releases. Let's start with the cons, the MAF is quite slow, the Sony 24-105 (another lens in my possession for the Sony E system) is certainly better on the 7RII, in any case nothing dramatic). It is a fairly "large and bulky" lens in relation to focal length and diaphragm. If you are looking for the most compact lens possible to use for street-photography, the samyang/sony equivalent is definitely a better choice. That said, the optics were an incredible surprise. I've had Sigma 35A and Tamron play it in the past in terms of sharpness and micro-contrast, probably overtaking Sigma at the edges (they're impressions, I didn't make direct comparisons). Good flare resistance and control of chromatic aberrations. It is not a macro goal, however the reduced distance of MAF can be a plus in some situations. Although bulky compared to other lenses, the lens is very light with a decent construction quality and tropicalization on paper. Who do I recommend tamron to? To all those who do not need a lens with very open diaphragms, they prefer an all-round optics with excellent value for money.

nikon_18-35gNikon AF-S 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5 G ED

Pros: Lightness, sharpness (especially in the middle), cost

Cons: 18mm distortion, renge of focals

Opinion: The Nikon 18-35 G is a lens that makes weight (less than 400g), size and cost its workhorses. I use it as a handyman on the Nikon d810 and I have to say that he does his job well, as at the end of the day I come home without suffering because of the weight of the machine-lens cover. From an optical point of view it is a good lens, closed to f8 is very sharp in the center and defends well even at the edges. It has good flare control and allows you to mount 77mm filters, which makes it a good landscape lens. The main limits are 2. First the fact that it starts at 18mm, vs 16/17 of the older brother F4 and the equivalents Tokina and Tamron. Secondly the distortion at 18mm, very noticeable. Personally I do not regret the choice, but having to buy an optics of this band, I would look forward to the Tamron 17-35 f2.8-4 which could be an interesting alternative.

ricoh_gr_iiRicoh GR II

Pros: Compact, lightweight, pocket-sized, excellent raw at low ISO, snap shot ... one of the best cameras for street photography

Cons: Lack of tropicalization, slow autofocus, high ISO, lack of a tiltable screen

Opinion: I've been using this camera for several months ... it's time to write a short review:) rnrnCorpo Machine: the Ricoh is a perfect car to carry around every day, weighs only 250 grams (less than 70 x XF / LX100), it is pocketable (it can be transported comfortably in the pocket of jeans or jacket). As a nikon user I found myself immediately at ease with the arrangement of the keys (some of which can be customized), the menu is very simple and intuitive. Good construction quality, even if light, the machine seems robust and solid.rnrnObjective: 28 mm is a lens difficult to use as a handyman, before buying the car I recommend carefully consider this aspect. The optics is very clear even at TA, further improves to f5,6 / 8. The distortion is well controlled to be a medium-wide angle. rnrnSensor: The 16 mp sensor without filter, combined with a high-level lens, allows you to have excellent images up to 800 ISO, at 1600 ISO noise is accecan be reduced to 3200-6400 ISO noise becomes a limit for color photos.rnrnAutofocus: the focus of the machine is not very fast and sometimes inaccurate, there is a lag between the moment you press the shutter and the recording of images. To overcome these limitations of the machine I find it very useful to use the burst (not to lose the "critical" moment) and above all the Snap Shoot.rn function Setting a focusing distance (1-1.5-2 meters) and clicking on the button shooting halfway, the photo is normally focused, if instead the button is pressed all the way down, the camera shoots without lag at the chosen distance. This is a very convenient system for street photography, where the association of a wide-angle lens combined with a closed diaphragm, allows an immediate and precise focus.rnrnOther functions: you can use presets for the management of colors and BW, they seem valid species for black and white images. rnrnConclusions: I recommend the Ricoh to all fans of street photography or reportage, it is a small, inconspicuous camera that nevertheless gives great images. I do not recommend the car to those looking for a compact all-rounder, the 28 mm is not easy to use, it can be more comfortable a 35 (such as the Fuji x100 series), or equipped with a zoom (sony rx 100 or the Panasonic Lx100) .rnrnNote : Looking on the net I read some cases of accumulation of dust on the sensor, in my experience I had no problems, the only precaution I used was to always use a case.

nikon_d90Nikon D90

Pros: Look down

Cons: Look down

Opinion: The Nikon D90 was my first digital SLR, I bought it shortly after its release and despite the past several years works perfectly without batting an eyelid. Together with the d300 and d700 was one of the most successful SLR Prosumer, and the first to record the video.rnIl reflex camera body is extremely robust and ergonomic, while not the Tropicalised I used under a light rain and a temperature of less than -10 and never have problems. The machine has a good white balance and the meter is accurate and reliable (tends to overexpose in bright sunlight, just underexpose by 0.3 / 0.7), the system put in kelp is given but always reliable .rnLa made at high iso is great for a reflex produced in the "far" in 2008, in particular, appears to be excellent up to 400 ISO, high up a640 / 800 ISO, acceptable at 1600 iso.rnSeppur I find a reflex exceptional today I do not buy it , you can buy the latest nikon d7000 or nikon d300 / 300s at a price slightly higher rn and all three models have superior characteristics compared to d90. To the advice? To those who want to "learn how to make photos" and seek a reflex robust, semi-professional, with all the buttons on the camera body and affordable.

tamron_24-70_f2-8vcTamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD

Pros: See Opinion

Cons: See Opinion

Opinion: I bought a couple of months and I decided to write my impressions on lente.rnLa build quality of Tamron (albeit not to the height of the optical equivalent nikon and canon top level) is reported to be excellent, it is a robust lens, equipped of a good system of weather sealing, weighing less than the 24-70 home nikon 2.8 (825g VS900) .rnL'unica sore point is the hood, not at the level of the lens and the diameter of the filters from 82 mm (in house nikon most of the optical F4 / 2.8 filters have a diameter from 77 mm) .rnIl stabilization system is very efficient, allowing to recover 3/4 stop, the system focus is very fast and accurate .rnIl Tamron is a lens extremely crisp, with excellent color rendering with chromatic aberrations extremely small, good resistance to flare .Riguardo yield major defects are distortion and vignetting at 24mm f2.8 at 24mm, the bokeh is good (not at the level of the nikon 24- / 70 or 28/70), although some users, in particular conditions, have reported the presence of "Bokeh onion" .rnIl quality / price ratio is very high! The Tamron 24/70 has a cost of about € 600 less than the nikon 24/70 f2.8 and offers a guarantee of 5 years .rnIn conclusion are extremely pleased with the lens and I highly recommend it as a standard zoom!
