nikon_105dcNikon AF 105mm f/2 D DC

Pros: Quality, yield, construction and obviously blurred

Cons: AF not always precise (solvable with mirrorless Z series obviously manual focus)

Opinion: It is a very particular lens (like the older brother 135mm), I do not recommend the use to those who are beginners must know how to use and understand, for those who love portraits and blur is a lens that despite its years also holds the 45mpx of modern machines. It has its own poetry and complexity, it can also be used with AF of old SLRs, but frankly I am better with modern mirroless for the simple reason that at very open apertures from f / 2.8 to f / 2 it has very little depth of field and the f / b focus is always around the corner, while with the focus peaking of the ML you can also use at f / 2, unique in its kind with the DC ring (defocus control) that you can intervene by increasing or decreasing the focus in front or behind the subject, moreover using it in the wrong way deliberately (not always) but sometimes you can pull out special effects that make the portrait unique, personally owning them both, I think that in 105 you notice more the DC effect of the ring even if it is easier to get defects such as aberrazzioni or images more Soft. It is definitely a lens that if you try it you will not leave it anymore, certainly it is for a more studied and posed photography, the sharpness is of a high level, below f / 2.8 it softens a little but for those who take it for its blurring it is a softness that does not mind at all, and after more than 10 years I still keep it with me in my kit. As for the blurred is really creamy, and very pleasant, usable also in other areas beyond the portrait type landscape, still life etc. Highly recommended, maybe a little more versatile than 135mm. final result passed with flying colors also in 2023 lens that must at least be tried!

nikon_z6iiNikon Z6 II

Pros: MAF, lightness, ergonomics, versatility

Cons: Absence in the manual the in-depth explanation of specific functions (for geeks it is not a problem)

Opinion: I make this review a little late compared to the purchase, it's been almost 2 years, it's not my first mirrorless nor the first camera. I must say that unlike all the reviews I have seen and heard on the net, the machine behaves really well, fast in the MAF even on side points, both AF-S and AF-C both with the single point and subject recognition (face eyes), usable and customizable menus. Machine suitable for those who want to do a bit of everything with a weight of files not excessive and workable even with PCs not of the latest generation, the gusts at the height of the market range and the quality of the files and dynamic range is good (I speak of intervals between 100-6400 ISO over I do not go in general except for very rare occasions). As for the battery I personally can reach 1500 shots quietly (shooting with priority to the viewfinder and the display does not turn on at every single shot this because I am bored as in the SLR to have the display behind that lights up at each photo) but even on tripod with the rear display on to me lasts a lot, I do not know what batteries you use ne that standby you have set but I hear say 200 shots and already finished (of course if you leave it always on with the swich between the 2 ON displays and the standby on OFF, I do not think that the competition offers much more). Now a couple of general considerations, as mentioned at the beginning I heard a lot of criticism about this machine and I frankly do not know why, I do not only own nikon but also bodies of other competing brands and I can tell you that its does it in an excellent way, when I hear that the MAF of the R6 II is superior (well I wanted to try) to me in several conditions it seemed more uncertain than the Z6, or when they say that the raw files of the z6 are more "noisy" than the sony a7 III (too bad they mount the usual sensor... mha okay) or when ".. but for birdlife my 1dx, D5 or A1 are of another level.... etc" but you are talking about flagships that "ARE BORN" to work in these conditions but how can you give objective judgments for machines that are placed on other market segments. After the controversy for those who think of buying it makes a great purchase, ah I forgot it also works very well the F-mount optics with the adapter (AF-S optics), practically you can go on quite a bit without fainting to change kit, the only flaw is the AF optics of the first generation become only manual focus because in the adatatore the motorized as in the SLR there is no longer but with focus peaking is not a big problem. Overall rating 9.5 (taking into account operations and market segment functions).

fujifilm_gf45_f2-8wrFujifilm GF 45mm f/2.8 R WR

Pros: Lightweight, compact enough for a medium format, excellent yield at both 50 and 100mpx

Cons: AF, slow and a bit uncertain at least on the 50gfxII (contrast MAF only)

Opinion: Definitely a fixed lens that works very well, both in terms of yield and in terms of blur, beautiful to look at and of the right size, even for long rides. To date I have not found flare or aberrazzioni even in difficult situations and at full openness. The 45mm corresponds more or less to a 36mm in the FF, therefore tending to the wide angle or portrait set. Even the colors are very beautiful and you do not notice changes or dominants here as a whole passed with flying colors. The only flaw is the MAF engine (stepper motor) which makes it a bit "uncertain" and slow compared to the LM (linear motor) brothers that certainly respond better, being one of the very first released for GFX system as the 63mm, it would be appropriate to think of a new version, not so much for the optical scheme that works well even at 100mpx but for the MAF. The diaphragms and MAF rings have the right usability, strictly MADE in JAPAN, finishes and details cared for, solid and robust. Nothing else to add.

nikon_z24-70_f4sNikon Z 24-70mm f/4 S

Pros: Sharpness (even at full aperture), MAF, silent

Cons: Perhaps a little too contrasted (but nothing that can not be corrected already in the shooting phase)

Opinion: The 24-70 f / 4 is definitely a lens that you can only talk about well, images at all apertures (f / 4 included) sharp without loss of detail both in the central part and at the edges, to date I have not found flare or aberrazzioni, the vignetting is almost non-existent. Fast and silent in the MAF, if it weren't for the sound of the machine you wouldn't even notice it. Darkly an all-round lens (at all focal lengths and apertures) usable and not very swallowing. If you really want to make some criticism, more than the lens should be made to "modern" photography for those who come from older stuff and is used to pass me the term to some more "defect" in the first place, softness in the first place, vignetting etc., these latest generation optics call into question many aspects learned over the years, for those who start with these systems, can not conceive the old 24-70mm af-s ED N, a 2.8 soft, a 70 in short and so on. If you want to take home the shot without fainting, or an all-rounder (which is good) absolutely recommended, if you want a nice bokeh always consiglate fixed optics rather than the older brother 2.8.

fujifilm_gf35-70wrFujifilm GF 35-70mm f/4.5-5.6 WR

Pros: Compactness, lightness, built

Cons: Non-fixed aperture 4.5-5.6

Opinion: Given that I own other lenses of the GF series, so I can give an opinone to 360 °, this lens I took in kit with the 50sII, and I must say as much as I remember a little the basic zoom of the entry level the 18-55, his does it in an excellent way, the image yield is superior to any zoom from FF, Its compactness and its weight only 390g make it very transportable in combination with both the 50 and the 100s for any type of trip, at 70mm perhaps it suffers a bit but only if you compare it with the 45-100 or the 63, the color rendering is very real and holds the definition well even mounted on the 100s, I noticed that in zoom mode between 63 and 70 to understand each other tends a bit to saturate the reds and to contrast the image more, obviously I'm talking about finesse that most will not even notice, even the MAF is fast and silent despite being without an LM engine like other lenses of its own series, Of course the diaphragm 4.5-5.6 is a bit 'the Achilles heel of this optics, it is also true that taken in kit the price for this zoom is excellent you can not expect more. However, WR is therefore resistance to water and dust ideal for those who make landscapes. It is devoid of stabilized so with the old GFX50 series you have to be a little careful about the times. Also tried with the 45-100 at the usual focal lengths and apertures behaves very well keeping pesente how much the older brother costs, so tips for purchases if you approach a GFX system for the first time, highly recommended with the 50sII or 100S kit (even just for the price), if you want to travel light or if you want a zoom to accompany perhaps a fixed lens, but if you already do specific things, well then maybe there are more appropriate GF optics.

fujifilm_gf45-100Fujifilm GF 45-100mm f/4 R LM OIS WR

Pros: Stabilization, construction, tropicalization

Cons: if we want to find one the weight, but for a medium format is more than fine

Opinion: The 45-100mm is perhaps the most versatile lens of the GF series, it corresponds to a 35-80 (about in the FF) and the stabilization allows it to be used even with the first models of GF 50 cameras, which did not have the sensor stabilized. It 'a lens with an excellent yield much better than the usual zoom for FF, makes very good at all focal lengths, frose to 45 a bit of distortion (nothing that nn can be corrected in PP) all in all even at TA does his, certainly the image as a whole is slightly softer than at 5.6 or 8, But especially in the portrait is a softness that does not mind at all. The blur is very creamy and pleasant, which makes it suitable to give us a thought if one needs a focal all-rounder. tested both on the 50iiS and on the 100s and I can say that it also holds the 100 million pixels (which is not obvious) in fact the 32-64 on the 100 struggles a little. Also with regard to the aberrazzione and the flare, it holds up very well and without having to intervene in the post. Now, however, I would like to make a small criticism, not so much to the objective as to the users who review it, all the reviews talk about it excellently and basic is true (which is why I decided to buy it) but I found many articles that say that with the 45-100 you can do without the fixed 45mm 63 and 110, well these are total crap, tested at the usual focal lengths 45 with 45 63 with 63 and 100 with 110 obviously also with the same aperture then with maximum aperture at F4, the FIXED lenses win across the board without SE and without MA. Moreover, I also tried it with the 35-70mm and I must say that the latter holds up very well the comparison (always with the same lengths and apertures). Summing up: tips for purchases if you do not have particular needs and aviete need of an all-round optics without fainting think of the 35-70 perhaps accompanied by a fixed optics, if instead you need brightness and performance always at the maximum then I recommend the 45-100, but if you have to do precise jobs such as architecture, still life, portraits designed exclusively for FISSE optics without delay.

fujifilm_gf110_f2wrFujifilm GF 110mm f/2 R LM WR

Pros: Sharpness even at TA, quality, fantastic bokeh

Cons: price and weight (but if you go on a medium fomato are 2 factors to take into account)

Opinion: Fantastic lens, mainly used for portrait, returns excellent sharpness and a beautiful blur, once you try the portrait lenses in the FF they become difficult to shoot in hand. The lens is not stabilized so eye with the first version of GFX50 especially on low times, for the new stabilized series no problem, at TA there is a bit of vignetting but personally I do not consider it a defect indeed. To be taken into account especially with the GFX50 first and second series (GFX50II) having only contrast MAF sensors on particularly moving subjects becomes more difficult to focus. The optics are certainly challenging from the point of view of the weight 1 kilo, but certainly for those who select this system is not a problem.

fujifilm_gfx50s_iiFujifilm GFX50S II

Pros: Dynamic range, color rendering, stabilization

Cons: Electronic shutter, contrast only focus, non-backlit sensor like the 100s

Opinion: Absolutely imaginative machine, color rendering, dynamic range, three-dimensionality, mainly used for portraits returns very real and detailed complexions, menu with many functions and customizable. The camera body has a beautiful handle despite the medium format it holds well in the hand and accesses all the keys well. The focus is not the most lightning fast but I did not put it in the cons because you have to take into account the fact that it is a medium format and the optics very often are larger than an FF system, surely those who take it is certainly not to do sports and consequently it can be fine (but if you come from the world of D5 flagships, D6 1DX, A9, A1 etc, of course you stay a little bad). Only 2 flaws that this machine has are the sensor only in contrast and not in backlit phase detection as the older sister GFX 100s that frankly on a simlile machine sorry. Electronic shutter not usable for moving subjects scanning times a little too long, in the other mechanical and semi-electronic modes MS and EF also perfect flash sync. Recommended for all those who need a very three-dimensional and natural rendering of tones and colors.
