Fin da piccolo ha mostrato una forte passione per la natura, ma soprattutto per gli animali. La passione per la fotografia è stato progressivo e naturale, dato che il padre è stato per lungo tempo un foto e video-amatore. Elia, durante l'adolescenza ha viaggiato in tutta l'africa del nord con con la macchina fotografica analogica e videocamera del padre, iniziando a comprendere e a sperimentare le varie tecniche di fotografia, producendo più di 250 ore di video e più di 300k foto. Nel 2010 la prima reflex digitale e l'incontro con la natura fu spontanea. Corsi di sopravvivenza, scalate e tante ore in montagna, gli hanno fornito una grande competenza. Nel 2016 si laurea in Biologia Magistrale, acquisendo grandi competenze scientifiche. Elia negli anni ha sviluppato una propria tecnica fotografica, consiste nel trasformare in arte ciò che osserva, questo grazie alla sua macchina fotografica. L'osservazione della natura attraverso l'obbiettivo fotografico è un esperienza unica, lo scatto è arte.
