![]() | Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2 Pros: Sharpness, true colors, very quiet Cons: Excessive New Cost Opinion: I state that I would never have spent 1200 euros for a new one, I found an offer equal to the new one at 500 euros and I bought it. Being a lover of fixed cameras and using the 35mm on ff, I decided to mount it on the Sony A6400 so with the crop factor it became a 37mm. The construction is solid and well made, the final file it releases is great with real colors as I like them. I've read that some have complained about the lens hood, personally it's not a problem as it doesn't imply on the final result. The only sore flaw is the cost of the new one, which is around 1200 euros, which seem a bit excessive to me. sent on November 25, 2023 |
![]() | Sony A6400 Pros: Autofocus, weight and dimensions Cons: Battery, ergonomics leave something to be desired Opinion: I bought this Sony to have a more compact body to carry me for light rides that makes up for the shots with the smartphone, I also own a Sony A7III and a Canon kit consisting of the 6D and 5D3 that I did not sell as I would have lost a lot of money. What can I say: in addition to the portability and the low weights as there is a Zeiss Batis 25 mm / f2 mounted it does not make me regret the Canon 6d, in comparison apart from the autofocus that on the reflex is embarrassing compared to this one, the files it returns are really excellent and very workable in post production especially in the shadows. I noticed an important difference compared to Canon SLRs, that by shooting underexposed I can manipulate the file better. That said, it doesn't make me regret the old Canon SLRs, owning the A7III my eye is used to the colors it churns out compared to Canon. Unfortunately there are some cons of which first of all is the ergonomics compared to a ff, I have to get used to it, the battery does not last long, the luck that when I bought it in the kit there were 2 other original batteries inside and to finish, shooting in AV I find the wheel uncomfortable and off-center to vary the apertures. As I think it will be just a matter of habit, but you can't have your cake and eat it, somewhere even Sony to produce such a small and compact ML has had to sacrifice some functions making them uncomfortable. A piece of advice I can give if a user decides to switch from Canon SLRs to Sony MLs is to pay a fee to read the manual well and also take advantage of the network because the menu and the various sub-menus are complicated, but after a couple of weeks of fiddling with them in the end they are quite simple. sent on November 16, 2023 |
![]() | Tamron 24mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 Pros: Minimum focusing distance, sharpness Cons: Noisy autofocus Opinion: Nothing to do...... about 2 years ago enticed by the price I had bought the Tamron 35mm f/2.8 that I had put on a Sony A7II, moral of the story returned immediately for the color of the colors, recently I found an opportunity of a Sony A6400 with the 24mm Tamron, here we go again the colors are very artificial, cold and tending to cold blue, Greys are cold tending to ice-coloured. I can't even edit them in Lr or at least I try to, but besides wasting a lot of time it doesn't satisfy me. Take a look at the images in the various galleries and you will immediately notice the colors...... except for some images that were made with certain lights. On the plus side, it's very sharp already at f/2.8, maybe because I tried it on a small format, so it uses only a part of the sensor compared to the full format. sent on November 02, 2023 |
![]() | Sigma 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: Construction, fluid rings Cons: Weight and overall dimensions Opinion: I have always used the 35mm, I bought this 28 mm that I use it as an all-rounder, the focal length I do not mind and does not make me regret the 35mm. Apart from the weight and bulk it is a lens that deserves a lot, minimal distortion but on the other hand it releases you a very nice and sharp file from f / 1.8 onwards. I mounted it on Sony A7III and I have no back and front focus problems. Having also had the Sony 35 f/1.8 this Sigma has slightly warmer colors. sent on September 13, 2023 |
![]() | Sony FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS Vario Tessar T* Pros: Light excellent quality Cons: nobody Opinion: I read various negative opinions about this optics, very low rating, so I bought it going against the current in fact I do not regret it, indeed there were optics that reproduce a file like this. This review of mine I do on the basis of my experience with Canon where I owned the various L series mounted on the 5D from the first to the third and I can guarantee that this 24-70 f / 4 for even if you say it is an excellent lens that is mounted on the first generation A7r fits perfectly, I could not express a judgment if it is mounted on the latest generation bodies. In the evening I recommend for those who want to have quality at an affordable price. sent on September 12, 2023 |
![]() | Canon EF 28-70mm f/2.8 L USM Pros: Construction Cons: Coarse and bulky hood Opinion: I bought this lens 12 years ago, used it for a period of time then abandoned it for 11 years in mobile. Lately I dusted it off and reused, I was amazed by the yield to TA for its sharpness, closing it a couple of stops remains very sharp, this my opinion is due to the fact that in 11 years I have changed several lenses including the fixed Sigma of the art series. Probably this my very positive opinion about it is due to the fact that I tried it on a camera body not recent as the Canon 5D MarkII, possible that mounted on modern SLRs behaves differently. In the used is a few hundred euros, I recommend it for those who want to spend little and have a lot of yield. sent on May 18, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S DX 16-80mm f/2.8-4 E ED VR Pros: Sharpness, good excursion Cons: Indecent and bulky hood, plasticy to the touch. Opinion: Tested on the D7500 that came out in Kit, excellent lens, very sharp and a good range of focal lengths that allows you to do everything, excellent stabilizer allows you to shoot in peace. They could do an f/4 on all focal lengths because at 16mm f/2.8 I don't see the usage. Having said these positive aspects, let's start from the negative ones, if we want to call them that.... the hood is indecent and bulky (In fact I bought a Chinese on Amazon HB-25 and fits perfectly in the bayonet without vignetting problems) if mounted on the contrary it is not possible to zumare therefore you have to remove it, to the touch it looks like a plasticotto and for what it costs Nikon could use materials a little more professional, on the other hand it is forgiven with the yield. The cost of almost 1000 euros is an important factor, so you have to weigh the choice a lot, unless you find other third-party solutions then you could loom in situations of non-precision focus. sent on November 15, 2022 |
![]() | Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 VC USD Pros: Sharpness, stabilizer. Cons: None apart from the fact of the cap on the hood that does not disassemble, tropicalization absent, it is not possible to mount filters. Opinion: Having a childhood friend who owns a photography shop, I have the opportunity to try many lenses, the lens in question I tried on Canon 6D and I can only speak well of this glass. The weight....... certainly you can not have the "full barrel and the drunken wife", if I have to be honest I would have preferred 5 mm more maybe sacrificing the 15 mm, if Tamron had built a lens equal to this, with a constant 16-35 excursion f / 2.8 I would have preferred it. The only defect that in my opinion (if we want to call it a defect) is the rubber cap that covers the hood that remains fixed. Another flaw that is not tropicalized. The quality/price ratio is great. sent on November 05, 2022 |
![]() | Tokina AF 17-35mm f/4 AT-X Pro FX Pros: Excellent quality/price, solid and robust. Cons: Bulky hood, sharpness at f/4 leaves something to be desired. Opinion: I'm trying it on a Canon 6D and I must say that for the price I bought it new stock fund at 380 euros, it is a great lens. I also own the Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM and if I have to compare it to the quality / price the Tokina exceeds it greatly. Of course the Canon at f / 4 is much sharper both in the center and at the edges but if both you close them at f / 5.6 you notice only a little noise in the Tokina when you enlarge the image, which then with click in Lightroom you remove it with the same or imperceptible result. I recommend it to those who want a wide angle with little expense and a lot of yield. sent on November 03, 2022 |
![]() | Nikon AF 24-85mm f/2.8-4 D IF Pros: Good autofocus, great extension Cons: Not high second-hand price Opinion: Test thoroughly on the D700, I consider it an honest lens that does its job as long as you close it at f8, below it remains soft like all those of the film era and on FF it has an obvious vignetting. I have not tested it on apsc, surely with the crop factor according to my point of view it should be sharper at the edges unlike the FF. For portraiture remains an excellent lens as it returns a soft and creamy file, for the price that is used I recommend it, certainly do not expect miracles. sent on October 26, 2022 |
![]() | Sony A6000 Pros: Great value for money Cons: Viewfinder does not satisfy me Opinion: I bought this A 6000 for my daughter, I got to try it during a holiday as I wanted to have something light and I must say that it is an excellent machine, I tested it with its kit lens and it has a good yield, in fact I am opting for the purchase for a more performing lens so I imagine that the files it churns out will be great. The only sore point is when I have to extract the SD that always falls because it is so close to the bulkhead where it is inserted and it becomes difficult to remove it. All in all it is pleasant and I am satisfied. sent on October 14, 2022 |
