![]() | Fujifilm X-T5 Pros: "Nostalgic negative" film simulation, ergonomics, weight and small size, adjustable screen, look and feel Cons: good but improvable viewfinder accommodation distance (especially for spectacle wearers) Opinion: The look and feel of the camera is fantastic: especially in the silver version, it reminds me of the old Canon AE-1 Program film of my father ... beautiful in my opinion the new film simulation "Nostalgic negative": with a right setting, helps to give the photos an almost "cinematic" look, without having the tones perhaps a bit 'exaggerated of the "Classic Negative" in my opinion ... The ergonomics are excellent, the grip is very good (with only the right hand you hold firmly, as long as you do not have too big hands perhaps), and the weight and size are right. The adjustable screen is also excellent, very comfortable and effective (in a moment you can orient it for vertical shooting for example). The only flaw in my opinion is the distance of accommodation of the viewfinder: and' certainly good, but for those who use glasses like me perhaps it would have been preferable a little increased to be able to view the viewfinder better in full size. Still a great camera, highly recommended. Vote 10. sent on February 23, 2023 |
![]() | Fujifilm XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR Pros: Tropicalization, lightning fast and silent autofocus, extreme sharpness Cons: Weight and lack of the clutch-system (compared to the previous one) Opinion: I owned the previous XF 23mm 1.4, and I changed it to this new version: I didn't regret it at all. The tropicalization, the very fast and silent autofocus, and the extreme sharpness even at f 1.4, are worth the passage. Perhaps the only flaw is the weight, not entirely negligible but that in any case on an X-Pro 3 remains very well balanced, but you have to get used to it (especially if you come from Fujicron f. 2 optics). Exceptional optics, the best (for me) travel companion as a handyman (Repotage/Street and Portrait), highly recommended. sent on May 01, 2022 |
![]() | Fujifilm XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR Pros: Compactness and weight, focal length, sharpness and overall rendering Cons: AF a bit noisy indoors Opinion: Fantastic optics: super compact, it makes e.g. a compact X-Pro 3 almost like an X100V. For the street it is the best for discretion and not giving in the eye. The equivalent 40mm focal length lends itself very well to a generalist use: from the street, to the landscape, to the set portrait ... if desired it can be used as the only travel lens for example. The WR is excellent, perhaps the diaphragm 2.8 does not lend itself much to portraits in the foreground for the difficulty of detaching a lot, but it is not designed for this purpose ... the sharpness and yield and 'excellent already' from 2.8 cmq. The only flaw is perhaps that the AF indoors and in the silence turns out to be a bit noisy (but outdoors it is not felt at all). A very recommended optics!! sent on August 20, 2021 |
![]() | Fujifilm XF 23mm f/1.4 R Pros: Excellent construction and optical quality, extreme clarity, three-dimensionality, versatility focal length Cons: Not WR, and horrendous supplied lampshed Opinion: Fantastic optics, the construction quality that is immediately perceived is excellent, it seems almost indestructible so it looks robust and well built. Too bad just for the lack of the WR. Very convenient to be able to pass in manual focus simply by moving the appropriate ring on the lens, which by the way keeps memory of the last focus setting left (typically convenient in my opinion when you want to create special blurred e.g.). Although perhaps not very light, on the X-Pro 3 e.g. it is very well balanced, and it is quite ergonomic in my opinion the grip ring (with which to hold the lens with hand sx eg eg) between the diaphragm ring and the manual activation and focus ring. On the X-Pro 3 it becomes difficult to use machine body and lens with only right hand, but using both hands it becomes very usable. The lens is very clear, with an almost record sharpness perhaps between Fujinon X optics, and what is important is also very usable at TA, that is to say at f 1.4 Autofocus is fast and quite quiet (outside you can not feel it, only perhaps in indoor and very quiet environments it can give perhaps a minimum discomfort, for those with a fine ear at least). And the files produced have a beautiful three-dimensionality and color rendering, very "photogenic" or "filmic" let's say. It is perhaps the quintessential reportage optics, with which you can also do street and some portrait set (with very beautiful blurry), and landscapes, and in this sense therefore very versatile: perhaps even the most versatile, if one has to choose in a trip for example to bring a single lens, this could be the best choice (for focal and quality). The lampshon supplied, however, is horrendous, Personally I have not even tried to mount it (it spoils all the beauty of this optics), and it is really exaggerated, so much so that even without a lampshed it resists the flare very well, and even the rare cases in which it was present, the flare, is still very "soft" and pleasant to see in my opinion. Absolutely recommended anyway, it is perhaps one of the best Fujinon optics, it deserves a full 10 rating! sent on March 27, 2021 |
![]() | Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM Pros: Clarity and extreme optical quality, since f 2.8; stabilized; Tropicalized. Cons: Slow focus (but it's a Macro) Opinion: An absolutely fantastic goal, it is of an extreme optical quality: crisp to the far-fetched, with a crazy color rendering. Excellent stabilization, and also thanks to this, and the weight and relatively small footprint, can be used without tripod. Very suitable not only for Macro and Still Life but also for portraits. The only drawback is slow focus, but it's a Macro so it's normal; and the supplied light screen is too long and for this reason not very comfortable (I never use it, and I do not think it is fundamental unless you have strong direct light sources in view). Over-recommended, absolutely! sent on March 13, 2021 |
![]() | Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Pros: Excellent sharpness and overall optical quality, stabilized Cons: Lack of tropicalization Opinion: Excellent all-rounder zoom lens, of excellent optical quality. Sharp at all focal points, and almost at all openings, although it perhaps besto sings around f 4 or f 5.6. Stabilization is also excellent, allowing you to recover two or three stops. It looks like a real "L" lens, but without the officially indicated L. Too bad for the lack of tropicalization (but they should have really called it "L" by force!). Highly recommended for Canon's APS-C SLRs, perhaps the best EF-S lens and zoom in general for this type of cameras. Highly recommended. sent on March 13, 2021 |
![]() | Canon 60D Pros: Robustness and reliability, good quality of jpgs, battery life Cons: White balance not always optimal in the interior, optical viewfinder a little small Opinion: Good DSLR, churns out good jpegs, very robust and reliable. Excellent battery life, allows you to take almost 1000 photos. On the other hand, however, the balance of white is not always optimal: in the interior it tends to turn towards orange. The optical viewfinder is then a bit small, it does not allow a completely comfortable view. The Live View (not yet being the Dual Pixel of later models) has a slow autofocus, but still usable for not too dynamic shots. Definitely a good camera, still current and usable 10 years after its release on the market. sent on March 13, 2021 |
![]() | Lowepro Photo Sport 200AW Pros: Light, very ergonomic, it hardly looks like a photographic backpack, with the possibility of inserting a bag of water inside the backrest (up to 2L). Cons: Nobody Opinion: Great photo backpack, for those who want to travel light. The ergonomics are excellent, the backrest is excellently padded and you can use it quietly for trekking, or even trailing. It does not look like a photographic backpack, but a trekking backpack (which in large part is in fact), and this is a plus of course (to give less in the eye). Excellent possibility to insert in the back pocket a bag of water (of those found at decathlon), up to 2L. Materials of excellent quality, and great durability: it resists very well to splashes of salt water (to the sea), and to sand. It can contain a reflex with a medium-sized lens mounted, and of course also a smaller mirrorless lens, with a small/medium-sized lens. Highly recommended. sent on March 13, 2021 |
![]() | Fujifilm XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR Pros: Size and weight, ergonomics, overall optical quality, sharpness and yield Cons: Maybe the TA at 2.8 Opinion: Fantastic lens: very compact and light, of excellent workmanship and quality, it is very well connuwn with x-pro 3 glue. Very quick and quiet focus, also beautiful the supplied lampshon, has excellent ergonomics. Excellent optical quality, very clear lens (and the maximum reaches it perhaps between f 4.0 and 5.6). Very suitable as a travel lens and /or reportage, for street photography, and in general also as walk-around or go-to lens. The only defect may be having the TA at 2.8, but it would obviously have been affected by the weight/footprint and the price. Very recommended! sent on November 23, 2020 |
![]() | Fujifilm XF 35mm f/1.4 R Pros: Image quality, compactness, lightness, pleasantness of use, lampshade Cons: Nobody Opinion: In combination with Fuji X-Pro 3 glue it matches perfectly in my opinion: excellently balanced, as weight and size. Even with the optical viewfinder of the X-Pro 3 it doesn't bother you particularly. Excellent optical quality, it is perfectly clear even at full opening (f 1.4), and gives magical bokehs. On the X-Pro 3 does not complain in my opinion even so much the speed of Autofocus: it is not perhaps a lightning bolt in that sense, but it is more than quick for almost all occasions. In addition, it allows you to rediscover the equivalent 50mm (in FF) as an all-rounder optics, suitable for both the Street, but also the Travel Reportage, the Landscape, and the Portrait. Great lens, over-recommended. Ah not last great the metal lampshade included: beautiful and practical. sent on July 27, 2020 |
![]() | Fujifilm X-PRO3 Pros: Weight, compactness, ergonomics, style Cons: No one at the moment Opinion: I come from Reflex Canon, and I was looking for a lighter and more compact system, and that would allow to focus much more on "pre-production" than on "post-production" (that is, it already churned out excellent jpeg): the X-Pro 3 perfectly combines all this. In addition I find excellent side viewfinder in rangefinder style, allows you not to hit with the nose (looking with the right eye of course) on the back of the machine body, and to have a greater perception of the surrounding environment (for street and reportage, as for other, great thing). And the optical mode of the viewfinder is great for street photography or reportage in general. Machine body then built very well, and allows a customization of the functions and features excellent. Even the menus, even if they come from Canon, I do not find them in reality very complicated, only require a slight setting. Great car, overconsilted. Thank you Fujifilm! sent on June 07, 2020 |
