Pros: sharpness, speed, detail, f: 2.8, lightness

I don't know if it's just my sample, but when you move around with this lens in your hand it always tends to go to 55mm. It's quiet and I've never heard any strange noises (I've read/heard someone complain about noises when focusing or moving the focal ring). Too bad for the compatibility only with APS-C, I would have gladly brought this lens even on a hypothetical full-frame.

Cons: No FF, construction, no flare resistance, in my case poor sharpness

Plastic construction but sturdy and pleasant, even if not tropicalized, and unfortunately yes it melts very soon, opening downwards with nothing. It is clear that its strong point is the fixed 2.8 at all focal lengths, which also gives a discreet blur, soft and enveloping. To upgrade is undoubtedly a great investment, but you shouldn't expect the sharpness and definition of the more emblazoned, and expensive, L-series. At least the specimen I have, doesn't define the details, at any aperture, least of all at TA. If you're forced to shoot and have to let in some sunshine, the flare will kill you. Also, being only for APSC I found it a bit limiting.
