canon_eos_rCanon EOS R

Pros: Construction Quality RAW files, Canon colors

Cons: slow , even for the year of release , ergonomics

Opinion: Socket used a couple of years ago to replace the 6dII. I am basically fine . I use it, mainly, with the old EF 20 mm f2.8 lenses, EF 35 mm f 2 and 85 f 1.8 and I get really very beautiful files, with a vintage air that I look for, in particular, in meditated photos, natural and urban landscapes portraits etc. It's everything, except a perfect machine, ergonomics, in particular the absurd slidebar for which use takes more time than for a normal dial, a few buttons positioned in an imaginative way The use is slow both in software and hardware, gust so slow that it borders on the ridiculous, it was a machine made in a hurry, it had to go out and out, with all its defects. Defects remedied from the R6 onwards. It remains, however, a camera that churns out beautiful photographs, with very workable files, the 30 mpx that I prefer to the 45 of the R5, that typical Canon rendering that modern cameras coupled with modern lenses, have lost along the way to my taste. For work I use R6 and R6 II, for my personal things, it will stay with me until death do us part. Let's talk about autofocus which, although not comparable to recent ones, behaves very well. For what technology offers today, the only area in which I do not use it is sports photography, for the rest, considering the price of second-hand, to be taken without thinking too much. For the video, I do not express myself, I make so few that my opinion is not important.

canon_rf24-105_f4usmCanon RF 24-105 mm f/4 L IS USM

Pros: Focal range, enough sharpness, fast and accurate AF, makes you take home the job, small and light

Cons: All the typical f4 zoom with this excursion

Opinion: I have a love-hating relationship with this lens. I love it because it is versatile and with enough yield to take work home, as well as to go out for carefree sessions. The image quality is not excellent, the 24-105 f4 are compromised and this is no exception, better than the ef brothers except in the colors to my taste but this is common to many RF lenses even more emblazoned. For my use and taste, the sharpness is more than enough, I'm old and I don't like surgical lenses. I find it very pleasant from 50mm upwards, I like it much less in the wide-angle part. I find the blur pleasant, very good autofocus and stabilization. Excellent, fast and silent on video, for those few I do. Do I change it? Only when and if I find it necessary to invest in the 2.8, the 24-105 is truly irreplaceable for events, for the moment I prefer to use the fixed to have quality, in particular, in the focal lengths ranging from 24 to 70, for the rest there is the still excellent ef 70-200 f2.8 II series and the 85 f1.2. Do I recommend it? Absolutely, yes. For events or reportages of any kind, for the professional it is the lens that takes you out of many entanglements. For the amateur it could be the lens with which to do everything without the need for anything else. Now it has a fair price. Rating 8.5

tamron_sp45_f1-8vcTamron SP 45mm f/1.8 Di VC USD

Pros: Sharpness , minimum focusing distance , af , is not a 50

Cons: chromatic aberrations

Opinion: I must say that I love this lens. Excellent construction, tropicalized, stabilized, the focal length of 45 mm gives you that minimum width more than the 50 that returns an angle that seems more natural. The sharpness is embarrassing, in portraits even too much. Unfortunately, the chromatic aberrations in backlight and in the presence of strong contrasts (purple fringe) make you turn up your nose on a lens of this level. I bought it a few years ago coupled with the 6DII and today I also use it on the R6 and I must say that it continues to give me great satisfaction. For what is the price in the world of used, if you find it do not let it escape.

canon_eos_r6Canon EOS R6

Pros: Autofocus, high iso seal, speed of use and much more that I have not yet discovered

Cons: perhaps a dancer behavior for automatic iso in the presence of strong contrasts

Opinion: Well yes, I made the jump I took the R6 !!! I must say that first impressions are great. Amazing autofocus . good viewfinder, although it seems strange to me, returns files rich in detail and an embarrassing sharpness. It allows unexpected cutouts despite the "only" 20 million pixels, I dare not imagine what the R5 does. I only have a doubt about the automatic ISO and the white balance both put in crisis in the presence of strong contrasts of light and quality of different lights, something that does not happen to me with the 6DII that I do not abandon. Maybe it's just my fault that I sang some adjustments. I did not have too much time to study it, arrived on Thursday, on Sunday we were shooting in one of the most absurd places that has happened to me from the point of view of quality of light. The high iso seal is better than what you might expect. My EF lenses, all L series, seem to be reborn to new life, especially the old 100,400 which probably needs to be calibrated for the 6DII. Fantastic stabilization, I shot with the 100,400 to 400 mm with extender 1.4 and crop in the room 1.6 freehand, at a 125 ° of sec, without the slightest presence of microwavy, with the 6DII I dream. The RAW files seem to me very workable but I reserve a more in-depth evaluation, for the JPg I must say that they do not need too many corrections they have a " modern " look with saturated and contrasted colors that are very good for the dog races that I am shooting in this period. The 6DII will remain with me, it will be my easel machine and landscapes, the colors seem to me more responsive to my tastes for these genres but the R6 will be my warrior for races and "fast" photography in general. What can I say, excellent first impressions, I do not recommend it just because you could compete with me. Updates follow.

canon_6d_mark_iiCanon 6D Mark II

Pros: q/p ratio, autofocus, files quality , size and weight

Cons: low iso noise

Opinion: Taken for a few months. First impressions are great. Unfortunately, due to the various restrictions, I could not test it thoroughly in the genres dear to me, concerts, landscapes, street. For those who, like me, love SLRs and do not chase the latest technological goodies, it is an excellent machine that, coupled with L series lenses or equivalents, from great satisfactions. I noticed a certain abundance of noise by opening the shadows to low ISO but maybe I'm the one who's wrong - I still don't know her well. Good hold at high Iso. Almost foolproof autofocus, the only flaw the points are a little too central, it is absolutely customizable and deserves an in-depth study to be able to exploit it. Weight and size are almost comparable to the ML FF of canon house, so much so that I equipped it with the original BG, I have rather large hands and to balance lenses like the 24-70 f2.8 you need a nice grip. In conclusion, to date, I think it is a great purchase both new and used, both for us amateurs and as a second body for a pro, but this is well known the coupled 6DII and 24-70 f2.8 has taken many weddings. Highly recommended. Updates with use will follow.

canon_200dCanon 200D

Pros: Lightweight, compact, simple and versatile

Cons: inevitably autofocus

Opinion: A small big car from which I separated with regret. It allowed me to start shooting again after so many years. Very versatile, it allowed me to take home good shots even in light conditions not ideal if not, even, prohibitive. Once the limits are understood, it is possible to exploit it unexpectedly, even in the theater or at night, obviously coupled with discreet and bright optics. There is no need to push it beyond 800 ISOs. Autofocus, with its 9 points, is the real limit, with the central there are no problems , on the others we spread a pitiful veil. With the live view the speech changes and a lot. Excellent for those who go hiking and for those who want to travel light but do not give in to mirrorless sirens, a little less to those with large hands, I had equipped it with a batterygrip to have a more generous handle. In conclusion, for the price at which it is used, it is absolutely suitable for those looking for a first machine not to change the next day and for those who need a second handy APSC body and who churn out better and more workable files than you might expect.
