Fotografo freelance , Domenico (in arte Mimmo) Bertè nasce a Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, tra i mediterranei paesaggi della Sicilia.

La passione per la fotografia inizia a svilupparsi in lui alla giovane età di 11 anni quando, maneggiando la sua prima macchina fotografica con mirino a pozzetto, comprende la bellezza di far durare un istante in eterno, attraverso uno scatto.

Desideroso di imparare e migliorare le sue tecniche in un campo dove l'arte non può essere insegnata, la macchina fotografica diventa per lui un oggetto inseparabile, sempre a portata di mano, poiché in ogni luogo e in ogni istante si nasconde lo scatto perfetto.
