Nikon AF 50mm f/1.8 D Pros: Sharpness, weight, chromatic rendering, size, optical quality, small filters so low cost, price Cons: Nobody Opinion: Great lens on FF format, very nice chromatic rendering, good sharpness even at maximum aperture. Very compact optics comfortably enter the bag, I always carry it with me. The blur is very good, well suited for very light street trips or indoor photos. The very low price does according to me an optic absolutely to have in a kit. When used on APS-C sensors I find it very good for portraits too. Only small "against" the hood for sale as an accessory but for the moment do not feel the need. sent on September 21, 2017 |
Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Pros: Brightness, stabilization, mechanical construction, precise AF and very fast. Cons: nobody Opinion: I've been using it for years on both APS-C and FF sensors, never disappointed. I find it very good already from f / 2.8 excellent from f / 5.6. AF very fast and accurate, exceptional stabilizer. The images are contrasted and crisp with well saturated colors. Definitely a challenging optic to be taken by weight and size (however average for this type of optics). I use it very often with the 2x sigma focal point multiplier for sporting photography with great satisfaction and no big loss in overall performance. Great construction. For me it is promoted with the highest marks. sent on September 20, 2017 |
Nikon AF-S 24-120mm f/4 G ED VR Pros: Focal range, stabilization, sharpness, versatility, value for money. Cons: Vignetting at 24 mm even if easily corrected Opinion: I use it on the nikon D600 with great satisfaction, versatile lens, a great handyman. Not very light but well-balanced with my car body. 24 mm vignetting easily corrected in just a few clicks. Good contrast, sharpness and color saturation already f / 4. Fast focus, stabilizer is great. Very good general construction quality. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relatively light but high quality handyman. sent on September 20, 2017 |
