nikon_d610Nikon D610

Pros: To be a semi pro it is robust, simply spectacular rows with excellent sealing at high ISO and great dynamic range.

Cons: With little contrast the AF goes a little into trouble, but I think it is a "will" of Nikon as if they had given this camera a more sensitive AF, it would certainly have eroded the sales of the older sisters (D8XX series).

Opinion: I've had this camera for several years, replacing the D600 for the known problems, and I have to say it's a fantastic camera. It churns out files that need little post, unlike the older sister I have (D800, fantastic machine too) which has a more neutral file and therefore needs more work. Yes, the autofocus in a situation of strong contrast, or total absence, goes a little in difficulty but you take 99% of the photos. Combined with my 70/200 VRI I took pictures of sports (enduro bike) without any problem, it does not miss a shot. The focus points are central but you get used to it quietly. I often use it in combination with my 300 AFS VRII and the yield of the files is spectacular, but the yield with the 24/70 AFS f2:8 that I have is equally spectacular. To this day, if one does not need to have the focus point at the edges like the mirrorless sisters, for me it is a highly recommended camera.

Pros: Small, sturdy, light.

Cons: Nothing.

Opinion: I bought it after seeing so many reviews of both this model and brand and other competing brands. I make an initial premise: I needed a small tripod, so unwieldy, to use during my outings in the mountains. Weight was not important, although lightness never hurts, but size. I have been using an aluminum Manfrotto 055 for decades that satisfies me, but hooked to the backpack protrudes a lot in height and often gets caught between the branches of trees or in the mountain bushes during my excursions. Hence the choice. I have to say I made a great purchase. I replaced the ball head supplied with the Sirui K40X that I had mounted on the Manfrotto, very strong head and removing the central column, so as not to stretch it too much avoiding imbalances, it allows me to use my D800 with BG and my 300 F2:8 (all almost 5 kg!), and I must say that, with a little carelessness Take the shot home! Of course, it can never replace the 055 or other tripod larger and more solid, necessarily, but its flexibility due to its small size makes it a real gem. Last thing. It is built very well, the legs can be opened completely so that you can photograph satin ground. What more do you want? Absolutely recommended.

nikon_24-70g_f2-8Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8 G ED

Pros: Very sharp, fast af, well constructed, great hood.

Cons: Like all the zoom is slightly less sharp at the edges.

Opinion: I leave this consideration. Already from the camera display after taking a picture, you see that it has a high sharpness, and the same feeling I had when I first shot with my fantastic 300 f 2.8 VRII. Obviously there are two different optics in all and all but they return both good contrast colors and sharpness. I am saying that I am 28 years old and I have a minimum of experience. I am convinced that those who preceded me in his review bring his personal experience, and I have no reason to doubt what he said, perhaps his specimen was not good, but the specimen in my possession is really great. The construction is solid and the weight for me is definitely not a problem as it gives some stability in the recovery phase, which I prefer. I use it mainly with the D610 but I do not deny the use even with the D800, although I prefer the fixed optics in my possession. I highly recommend it, maybe to buy it as good used (my virtually indistinguishableand from the new).

nikon_300vr_f2-8_v2Nikon AF-S 300mm f/2.8 G ED VR II

Pros: Sharpness, blur and color, autofocus speed, excellent stability, build quality.

Cons: Obviously the price.

Opinion: This view is the right compromise between focal length and weight. You find yourself in my hands a canvas that exploiting the crop factor of the D800 you have suffered a 450 f2: 8 without having to mount the teleconverter. Absolutely fast in focus, I would say embarrassing, this feature stands out compared to the lower AFS f4 brother I had before (which remains the best optical), and could not be otherwise ... With the teleconverter TC 14II speed remains virtually the same as the sharpness remains the same. The advantage of this view than longer ones, like 500 or 600 mm, is that slewing with relative ease freehand although after prolonged use the weight begins to be felt. One thing I noticed is that the VRII this goal, compared with the other optics in my possession, see for example the VRII of 105 f2: 8, has various functions, the most "sincere" I would say, although even that great the "micro 105". With the D800, crop in the car and TC14II, si turns into a 630 mm and timing of 1 / 60-1 / 80 freehand and VR are inserted, with a little forethought, quietly to portata.rnIn practice, it is a wonderful goal.
