sigma_85_f1-4dn_artSigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art

Pros: Blurred, compactness, sharpness.

Cons: Distortion, MF by wire

Opinion: Excellent optics. I use it, via Megadap adapter ETZ21, on Nikon Z6II and now also on Z8. I've also used it on the A7IV. Very good AF, creamy and enveloping blur. Very small size. Very good, almost excellent sharpness (but you have to look at the hairs in the egg. In short, an investment worth making. The only flaw is the distortion (even if correctable); In addition, the manual focus by wire is very annoying. Be that as it may, since I have this lens, alongside the 35mm 1.4, I have abandoned the 24-70 which, however, remains an excellent all-rounder and that I continue to exploit on other occasions.

sony_a7ivSony A7 IV

Pros: AF and viewfinder, ergonomics,

Cons: High ISO tightness, Cfexpress type A, monitor, lack of focus stacking, sony updates, micro-usb, 10fps that drop to 6 with uncompressed file.

Opinion: I used the A7IV alongside my Nikon z6II for some work. I mainly used it as a body that I could use for the video side although I also used it to take photos. A well-made camera with good ergonomics, a significantly improved viewfinder, excellent AF module... But there are "buts". Tightness at high ISO that I've heard a lot and good about: but where? A terrible grain that's hard to get off in post; the A7RIII handles it better. The Cfexpress type a may be versatile but they cost a lot and are much slower than the type b that are now at the same time at a good sd: where's the convenience? If you take a machine like the A7IV to put a 15 euro card in it, there is a serious problem. The monitor, like the viewfinder is good, with a good contrast that allows you to see well in any light situation, but it is small, with low resolution and the articulated screen in that way can be comfortable in a few situations, but for the most part it is very uncomfortable especially because it is off-center. Finally: 10fps only with compressed file is shameful especially because mechanically it can do much more (at least 12fps with uncompressed file). After the roundup of negative things, let's talk about the merits: significantly improved ergonomics, not like Nikon's but good. Menu that I find very intuitive: articulated it is true, but intuitive (the only flaw is the translations). Greatly improved viewfinder, with good contrast and resolution. Spectacular AF, I can't say more. Color science changed, with less warm colors with greenish shades (personally it's not exactly a virtue, but I find the colors closer to those I like). After testing it, I think the A7IV is a good machine, but honestly there are some things that make me turn up my nose but I can only appreciate other features of it. On the video side, nothing to say, although I don't think I have fully exploited it from this point of view.

sigma_24-70_f2-8dnSigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art

Pros: Good construction, sharpness and overall rendering.

Cons: Excessive distortion at 24mm, very annoying dust infiltration.

Opinion: The lens itself is really well done. Solid materials, respectable image quality (except for the barrel distortion very accentuated at 24mm). The thing that disappointed me most is the tropicalization: it is true that there was a defective baking, but the dust that manages to slip is really excessive. I contacted mtrading and they asked me 150€ for internal cleaning and replacement of gaskets. But it seems strange to me since the serial is subsequent to those of the "defective baked". Okay, as soon as I can I will send him to assist to do this check. One thing I hate and love at the same time is the zoom lock. On the one hand, it's terrific not to worry too much about that kind of blockage. On the other hand, I notice that it is uncomfortable when it takes little to disarm it. In short, it extends too easily. To conclude, a lens that I love and that I almost always use since I bought it.

sigma_35_f1-4dnSigma 35mm f/1.4 DG DN Art

Pros: Sharpness, Construction

Cons: Focusing by wire

Opinion: A really crazy optic. Well done, with an incredible qi. High sharpness across the entire frame from wide open. Fast and quiet autofocus. The only flaw is the focus by wire: I don't use it much in manual, but when I need it I feel the lack of a linear focus. Apart from that, however, I fell in love with it. I really like the fuzzy and it's quite creamy. I don't have any chromatic aberrations or particular defects to report. In short, a really successful optics in my opinion.

tamron_17-28rxdTamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD

Pros: Center sharpness, Af, weight

Cons: Edge sharpness, distortion and flare tightness

Opinion: Really fun, lightweight lens that you take everywhere because you know you're going to use it. Overall it is a good lens and if you take it used it is worth the money spent. I would not take it new because at that point I would bet on something a little better as this Tamron has a very good sharpness in the center but, at the widest angle focal lengths, it loses a lot of sharpness at the edges. At 28mm, for example, it already recovers. Flare resistance is good, but not great. The distortion speech is a bit problematic because yes, there is distortion, but it is easily corrected, making the issue a bit ambiguous (it is better that there is not, but if it is correctable if you want you can turn a blind eye... Which with sharpness you can not do: that is and that you keep). A lens that all in all I recommend (if you do not pay too much).

tamron_35_f2-8iiiTamron 35mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2

Pros: Image quality, weight/size, tropicalization

Cons: MAF (read below)

Opinion: Therefore, before expressing myself I must remember the price of this contained perspective and what I write will be all to be interpreted in relation to this. Now I can get started. Let's start with the image quality: spectacular. Color rendering in line with that of all Tamron lenses but, guys, the sharpness is magnificent. I did not perceive aberrations and the distortion is minimal. It seems to me to have an excellent resistance to flare, but here I could not say for sure since I always have the hood mounted. It's light, but it gave me a nice sense of solidity. Fluid bezel, although I don't really like the focus by wire (ie electronic and not mechanical). Now, the MAF, let's talk about it: it is quite noisy, but in terms of speed, it will not be a splinter is true, but objectively it is faster than the various comments and reviews appear and I was incredibly surprised (also tried with Megadap ETZ21 on Nikon Z6 and Z6II, it goes great). Net of everything, with little you bring home a fun lens, with a high level image quality, a tropicalized body and a MAF fast enough to do almost everything, so I would strongly recommend it.

nikon_z6Nikon Z6

Pros: Evf, display, dynamic range, high ISO seal, ergonomics,

Cons: Single slot (as far as I'm concerned), 30" exposure limit extended to 900" with the Z6II, Battery-grip without controls, Af in low light.

Opinion: Exceptional machine that gives many emotions. Ideal for those who do landscape, portraiture, street and, in conditions of not too much dynamism, it can also be adapted to a photographic hunt. The limit of the second slot can be felt according to personal needs: in my case the lack of makes you feel when I travel to places like Sudan or Egypt which, unfortunately, are difficult countries to take pictures: I happened to be stopped by the military and forced to delete photos ... Having a double slot you can make a backup and, if necessary, remove a card so as not to lose the shots. Another thing that can be greatly missed is a Battery-grip, especially if you do portraiture is a real shame. For those who do landscaping or astrophotography a limit that can be that of 30 "of exposure that with the Z6II have become 900". The latter case is to be considered more as an additional convenience than as a mere necessity given that until now and for many other brands the limit is 30". As for the Af I noticed that it suffers a lot with low light (although it also depends a lot on the optics actually). What is certain is that it is not an af from birdlife or photographic hunting, but it is not impossible to do this too. Let's remember that once they were done with roller machines, without maf, so I don't see why you can't do it with the Z6: is it more difficult than an R6 or Sony A7 IV that recognize even when you are about to go to the bathroom? Undoubtedly. But that doesn't make it impossible. For the IQ nothing to say: exceptional colors, dynamic range to be scary and holding at high ISO exceptional. In short, the Z6 is a versatile machine, it does great in almost all genres. It has flaws, for heaven's sake, but it is an extremely valid purchase in my opinion.

prograde_cfexpress_gold128gb_type_b

Pros: Speed, excellent materials

Cons: For now nothing.

Opinion: I bought this CFexpress type B along with my Nikon Z6. What can I say, I feel great. Personally I only take photos, I don't make videos, and for my use it is perfect. It costs a little, it's true, but it's absolutely worth it. I highly recommend it and think I will buy a second one, but from 256GB. In summary, recommended purchase and excellent price quality.

tamron_70-200_f2-8vc_g2Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2

Pros: -

Cons: -

Opinion: Bought used at a great price and in very good condition. I immediately fell in love with it. Exceptional stabilizer: I shot at some really embarrassing times. Color rendering tending to warm tones. Very good sharpness already at TA and that becomes excellent already at f/4. Fast focus and, almost always, reliable. Beware of those who complain about weights and dimensions: we are talking about a 70-200 f / 2.8 with a solid build quality and that instills safety; also we are talking about a zoom that does not extend and this inevitably increases the size. Ring for the tripod that seems to be quite solid, in some specimens it seems to be ruined due to the formation of bubbles under the paint. Rather insignificant problem from my point of view. The rings are well frictioned and the one that surprised me the most is that of the zoom: from 70 to 200mm you do it in a moment. I also liked the focus one a lot, so much so that a nice feeling was created. The thing that I personally did not appreciate very much was the hood: it seems to me extremely fragile, of the type that if it were to fall it would break immediately. However, I am still very doubtful because this flexibility and lack of consistency could be useful. As far as I am concerned, this objective deserves a lot and I would give it a 10.

tamron_70-300macroTamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro

Pros: Comparing everything to the price this lens is more than decent.

Cons: Slow Af, Chromatic Stabilization, Chromatic Aberration, Sharpness

Opinion: Starting from the assumption that I am not an expert, this lens is accompanying me on my path of photographic growth. Good enough to become familiar with focal lengths of this kind; the absent stabilizer is a not indifferent obstacle, but I think it is necessary to be able to train to eliminate tremors and movements as much as possible (if you learn with this with the stabilizer it will be a walk). A big shame is the af, slow and noisy that often misses shooting opportunities. Good brightness all in all, seen and considered that it keeps f/4 up to 120mm if I am not mistaken. Be that as it may, I read a lot of rather harsh and heavy criticisms that I consider exaggerated given the price. It will not be the best as optics, it is true but for less than 100 euros from used (less than 200 from new), for a canvas, what did you expect? So, reasoning on quality price, I would like to give an 8. Obviously, if a person is looking for high performance he will not find them from this lens and you can not expect who knows what given the price (you can not want a ferrari and pay it 10,000 euros). On the other hand, this lens is great for learning to stay still and shoot at low times without a stabilizer.

tamron_10-24vc_hldTamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD

Pros: No distortion, build quality, stabilizer, focus, tropicalization

Cons: Lens hood

Opinion: I bought this used lens. Excellent opportunity, although initially I was a bit hesitant about the price (300 against 500 and more on the market). After testing it scrupulously (thanks to the advice found on the Juza forum) I decided to take it to match my D7200. At first glance the lens is solid, well finished in every detail. The rings are fluid and you have a nice grip. Fast and decisive focusing but in low light conditions could fail, excellent stabilizer (I managed to take pictures at 1 sec!!) that allows you to compensate for the low brightness. Despite the maximum aperture of the aperture you can still have good blurs. I preferred it to Tokina for tropicalization, although the image quality (from what I read) is lower. Nevertheless, I do not regret the choice, quite the contrary. The only negative note is the hood, rather annoying when put "to rest": it makes it difficult to use the zoom ring so as to make you want to remove it and bring it apart. In conclusion an excellent wide angle of which I am fully satisfied.
