canon_eos_rCanon EOS R

Pros: Semi-tropicalization, ergonomics, display, quality/price, sensor

Cons: lack of Joystik, lack of wheel

Opinion: The buttons are all in the right place and are all customizable. The ergonomics is that Canon and contrary to what many claim, I find the touch bar convenient for the management of ISO, you just need to get used to it, after which it becomes well exploitable. The sensor is at the TOP, as well as the dynamic range, and you just have to be careful not to overexpose too much, while the recovery of shadows is more than satisfactory. I bought an original battery grip with 2 batteries and the autonomy is very good. The touch screen is very defined and responsive, and partly allows you to make up for the lack of the joystik. the Menu is what the Canonists know: intuitive and clean. With firmware 1.8 the AFC is almost flawless and even the eye tracking does not disappoint . the AFS, on the other hand, is just infallible (it focuses even in almost dark conditions). The autofocus module is essential and indeed, even too programmable. The colors and transients are beautiful, very well shaded and rich in detail. The 30MPX make it suitable for the landscape and allow a discreet crop. The ISO I recommend not to raise them to more than 1600 to maintain a good signal-to-noise ratio, but even at 8000-1000 ISO the image is well exploitable and discreetly recoverable in PP. For the use that I do, amateur, is perfect. And I don't feel the need for additional technology. This camera lacks sensor stabilization that has not yet caused me impediments in taking pictures even at night . Coupled to my RF 24-105 f / 4 still allows a stabilization of at least 5 stops if necessary. The burst does not allow great performance, but you can still shoot very fast by setting the AF tracking priority during the shot in order to increase the chances of being able to have the dynamic shot in focus. On the other hand, it is not a machine designed for dynamism, but allows you to take home the shot when it presents itself. It would have been really nice to have the wheel to manage the ISO, as in 6D . I consider video performance 'essential' for those who want to try a first approach, but not at the level of other Canon mirrorless

canon_rf24-105_f4usmCanon RF 24-105 mm f/4 L IS USM

Pros: Image quality , 9 blades , stabilization, supplied accessories , flawless AFS

Cons: AFC not very silent, internal stabilizer clearance, price compared to the construction materials of the barrel

Opinion: Handyman really very good with regard to image quality (color fidelity and right contrast and also right sharpness, maybe even superlative), the blurred 9 blades and stabilization are excellent. The metal bayonet is pleasing to the eye and to the touch and immediately gave me a pleasant sense of solidity. What ultimately matters is weight and image quality. I would certainly have preferred a metal barrel at the expense of a greater weight (which for me would contribute to greater solidity and therefore to better ergonomics), and for this reason I do not consider it a pro. On the other hand, the image stabilizer that is felt (has a certain game), and the AF SERVO whose ultrasounds are quite noisy in closed environments. Very nice leather bag with hood supplied

sony_a7r_iiiSony A7r III

Pros: Crop, rings, dynamic range, customizable keys, battery, materials

Cons: Single AF, ergonomics and grip, menu, touchscreen, ISO, display, 42mpx

Opinion: I will only talk about the cons, as the Pros are too numerous and we already know them all. Used for 2 seasons coupled with a 24-70 ART. It's not my car. I come from an EOS R and I must say that in terms of usability, ergonomics and usability in general there is an abyss. The Sony is very complex and so rich in functions to study in depth that I want to take it in hand. I'm used to Canon and whenever I need any function I know exactly where to go to look for it. The AF-S struggles to focus even in medium light conditions - the focus point on the display is almost invisible - given the density of the sensor at iso 800 begins to appear the noise of brightness - while the AF-C module that works well is really so articulated and complex - ergonomics intended as a handle I found it very uncomfortable. I find the images of this 42mpx sensor really too sharp and rich in detail .. In short, those who like detail and crunchiness, this camera performs an x-ray of what you have in front of your eyes and also allows discreet recoveries in post production. The greatest discomfort that I emphasize is however the grip, which is the most important thing from which you immediately understand the feeling you can have with your travel companion. As for me I pick up my Canon !
