nikon_afs200-500_f5-6vrNikon AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 E ED VR

Pros: Cost, especially since it is an original Nikon. Excellent stabilizer: you can shoot safely at 1/100 to 500mm by immobilizing the subject.

Cons: Blurry doesn't get to fixed levels, something brighter may be needed in the bush

Opinion: I'm upset about buying this goal. Bought new through parallel market, I took it home really for an excellent price: there are no other objectives of the parent company of equal quality that you can afford the same affordability of expenditure. Truly wide focal range from 200 to 500 allows you an infinite number of uses. Sometimes, you know zoom is never enough, I would have preferred to have a 300 - 600 in my hands, it would have been TOP. To date I have always mounted it on the D500 and in APSC format I do not consider it necessary to pair it with multipliers thus reaching an excellent yield attached to the machine as a solitary element. Used for some photo shots from sheds (bear, grunts, jay) I was surprised: the excellent stabilizer allows its use quietly even with bean-bag leaving the photographer more dynamism in the shots: if the subjects are immobile support the bag lens, if they begin to move use the machine directly by hand. Of course, it is unthinkable to use it for a long time freehand both for weight and for the long extension that comes to occupy on the 500 mm focal that makes everything really bulky and unseen. I also lament, like so many others, the much rotation that needs to be imprinted on the railing to move the focal point: sometimes I think it is more practical to push up and down the external lens transforming the lens as if it were a shotgun, the mechanism should not suffer. I hope. Enough brightness for outdoor shots, obviously with 5.6 in the woods it becomes a bit painful when you get to sunrise or sunset. I will end with the clarity that I think is excellent even at the utmost openness. If you want to start with photography from a shed for particularly shy subjects (wildlife) who will never get close to it again than so much I would say that it is the best to start this new adventure. I would leave alone the optics of "competing" houses that for a few € less expire a lot with quality. Then to improve the photo set there will always be time and move on to some serious fixed

sigma_35_f1-4Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Pros: Incredible sharpness, very nice blurry, very eye-catching price when obviously compared to its fellow Nikon or Canon house

Cons: Important weight, focus doesn't always hit the target, decidedly cold colors

Opinion: Purchased after carefully evaluating many reviews and compared many photos seen directly here on the Juza forum. Mainly, for budget issues, I wanted to take either this Sigma 35 mm f 1.4 or the Nikon 35 mm f 1.8. I decided and I took the Sigma: purchased on Amazon for about 700 euros (I did not look at other sites as the guarantee and processing of the returned on Amazon is unparalleled, if you needed to replace the product at record time without asking too many questions) I immediately connected it to my Nikon D500. As I expected, after some test shots on graph paper, I found a front focus problem. Not bad, even without having purchased the dock station, I calibrated the focus manually as setting on the camera by moving the step 4 points back solving the problem. Of course, if you have a camera that does not allow this setting I would say mandatory the purchase of the dock. But let's come to the real use: it is a real pleasure as well as exciting to shoot at f 1.4: you manage to create photos that highlight small details chosen by the photographer: by shooting the face of a person you can focus your eyes by creating the gradient already at the level of the cheeks. It's amazing. Of course, the focus crosshairs goes, in my opinion, managed manually otherwise it is really difficult to hope that the machine understands what the desired point of focus is, especially since already away an inch from the point you create the blurring. Really excellent sharpness, which I would say reaches its apex at f 2.0. Particularly surprising when taking dimly lit scenes, this lens gives beautiful photos without having to raise the ISOs in the car. The problem of focus, as by many, is in fact present: sometimes you take dozens of photos with sharp focus like a razor on the set point, other times come two or three consecutive where the focus is too far ahead or too far back making the shot unusable. Even the speed sometimes disappoints: you take dozens of photos where the focus moped works well and quickly, then come two or three shots where the focus goes all back, all ahead and stops giving the error message. The weight of the lens is important and you have to be prepared for it. The color yield often turns out to be very cold and needs a bit of post-production. In conclusion I remain enthusiastic about this lens, the price with which it is sold allowed me to try to work with a product that usually remains for the exclusive use of professionals. I repeat, POTER TRY, because if you really want to work or if you earn it with the photos, it is better to aim for economic sacrifice and take a Nikon/Canon. Probably some unrepeatable moments that you would like to immortalize with this Sigma you risk being lost forever

tamron_70-200_f2-8vcTamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD

Pros: Price quality, size and weight in order with the product

Cons: VC activates late, really sharp only at f4.0

Opinion: Bought a long time ago with the aim of taking some sports photos and taking some shots during a safari in South Africa. Very happy with the purchase because with a low price you take a very good optics. The lack of sliding elements on sight make it, even if it is not tropicalized, however resistant to dust and water in a moderate form. A sore note, in my opinion, is the activation of the VR: it takes even 2 seconds and therefore forces you, to make shots not posing, to always hold the camera button in half, thus leading to a quick discharge of energies. If you shoot at a sharp stop by pressing the shutter button the "violent" activation of the VR can even lead to more choppy shots than without the active stabilizer. To say is that once activated the stabilizer is really effective, as is a Nikon home VC system. The sharpness, at F2.8 sincerely does not excite me, as it is not exciting the blurry that is quite stylized and little "smeared". At f4.0 the sharpness becomes really good and it is usually to this diaphragm that I prefer to shoot. Of course you have to respect good lighting conditions that must be present otherwise, if you want to shoot at dawn or at dusk, I advise you to buy something else. I've never had any problems with focus, in fact the inner moped is really fast and hit the lens right away!

nikon_afs18-140Nikon AF-S 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR

Pros: Low price, wide range, lightness

Cons: Unluminous, NOT excellent VR, at 140 vignette. Limited for APS-C cameras only

Opinion: It's the classic all-rounder lens that you usually buy together with your first Reflex. Being a handyman obviously doesn't excel in any field. However, the great field of focal points it offers will encourage you to carry you always with you, especially during your travels. Unfortunately the opening of the diaphragms, as soon as you increase the ZOOM a little, almost immediately switches to f5.6 which makes it quite dark and therefore its use is reduced on good daylight days and only in the middle hours. Vr works discreetly, although other NIKON models offer much higher performance. At the maximum focal point there is a marked vignette effect, which we know many likes or can be easily eliminated with PP software. Very low weight and ease in managing ZOOM because with a small rotational movement you can immediately switch from maximum to focal minimum. It is not tropicalized and the presence of a double bayonet system definitely makes it at risk of dust and/or dirt inclusions. I conclude by saying that it is my first purchased lens and, at the moment, I have no intention of giving it away.
