manfrotto_pixiManfrotto Pixi

Pros: Dimensions, mass, quality and price

Cons: little fluid head, missing the vertical position

Opinion: Great price, bought in a physical store. Pleasant to see regarding design, it is also well balanced and planted thanks to the rubber pads placed under the tips of the legs. Flow declared well suited to me, seeing that at most I would use with OM-D EM-10 MkII + 12-40 f2.8 PRO for a total of less than 900g ... but I am sure that also succeeds with heavier optical type the PRO 7-14 f2.8 zoom and super tele standards Olympus and Panasonic ... Obviously nOT seem able to withstand optical type the 40-150 f2.8 PRO Olympus (unless you buy the Panasonic 35-100 f2 .8) ... the only drawback, the head is a little too hard and not smooth ...

olympus_m75-300_v2Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7 II

Pros: Size - Price - Quality - Sharpness

Cons: Dark of the counterparty Panasonic, albeit one stop - always missing the hood as usual - not weather sealed

Opinion: Excellent super telephoto lens, if he plays well despite not being a professional viewpoint. Definitely sharp at all focal lengths and with an excursion that starts from 75mm, has as against that, to preserve the compactness and lightness, it is sacrificed in terms of brightness. Also great for portraits from a distance, with a Mass at close very useful fire. Maybe add tropicalisation ...

olympus_m40-150rOlympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/4-5.6 R

Pros: Dimensions - Weight - Price - Quality

Cons: Material - Plastic Bayonet - As usual, missing the hood

Opinion: Obviously it is a telephoto lens from basic kit, for which the brightness is the standard in such cases. Still looks good at all, considering the price of optics. Good build quality that reflects only the plasticky material used. The bayonet is not metal, so better be careful enough (without going crazy) to avoid unnecessary problems. I recommend it to those who want a canvas to be attached to the standard 14-42. Lacks the stabilizer but the Olympus have all the stabilization on the sensor, so it is not a problem.

samyang_7-5_fisheyeSamyang 7.5mm f/3.5 UMC Fisheye MFT

Pros: Price, performance and size

Cons: No chips for EXIF ??data

Opinion: Bought new in Naples in a specialist shop, this perspective was immediately carved out a permanent place in my kit. The distortions make the photos more delicious and original. Focus totally manual is not a problem (we are talking of a super wide-angle lens) but at least a small chip for EXIF ??data ... rnN.B. careful ... become a real drug and proper! Just want to use it ALWAYS (even when it is not the case) ...

olympus_omd_em10_iiOlympus OM-D E-M10 II

Pros: Metal construction and quality. Light and compact in size. Image quality in both RAW and Jpeg. 5-axis Stabilizer on the sensor, ideal for experimenting with vintage lenses not stabilized even with very long shutter speeds. Good noise resistance even at 6400/8000 ISO. Rather vast and quality optical park, constantly expanding. WiFi included in the camera body. 3 function keys with high customization. Not bad price. Sfiziosa. Stylish.

Cons: Battery life. Lack of tropicalization. The wide angles on the M4/3 sensor are "transformed" into normal and the normals become "Tele" (only limit to the use of vintage optics).

Opinion: This was my first camera body. Now it's together with an EM-1 MkII. Before going on with the reading of my opinion, take into account two important things: 1) is an entry level advanced (very well done, but still such) 2) is a different format and smaller than the APS-C and the FF despite this , it has a nice resistance to relatively high ISO, which can only please. I even used it at ISO 8000 and little more, it makes good if you pay attention. This feature, coupled with a 5-axis stabilizer on the sensor, makes it a unique mirrorless in its price range. Its design is "peculiar" but original for today's times and with a high quality structure. Who has very large hands can compensate for the small size of the machine body with an accessory, the external grip ECG-3. The only defect, the metal construction transmits easily the cold and the most sensitive to low temperatures would do well to buy some gloves from photography (or the Gloves TAKE HEAT TOUCH for sale at decathlon). It would have been a nice thing to find a tropicalization on that camera body, kind of what was done with the Pentax K50 or K70, but so much. The stabilizer allowed me to use with more tranquility a fixed 50mm f/1.9 X-Fujinon vintage as an optical for portraits. Same thing with a Zenith Helios 44m-6 58mm. The tilting screen is useful for taking photos from multiple angles, like placing the camera on a monopod, selecting the timer of the shot and raising the whole to take pictures from above while not having scales or similar points of view elevated. The optical park is really pretty good, taking into account how young this photographic format is. On Olympus body You can safely use the (dedicated) optics of the following manufacturers: 1) Olympus 2) Panasonic and Panaleica 3) Sigma 4) Tamron 5) Samyang 6) Laowa 7) Any others I may not now know about. The quality of the images is very high, both on RAW and on Jpeg. The function keys are well positioned and easily reachable despite the small size of the body (obvious, if then one has big hands like those of Shrek is another speech). The internal menu is complex, but not impossible (be it clear, eh!). The price is really deserved (apart from the lack of tropicalization) and, despite being born as a possible second camera body to be accompanied by a reflex, is quietly able to become the main machine. The dimensions are compact even for the lenses and this is a really nice result. I, for example, I bring the camera body and 5 optics in a backpack photo with limited weights and dimensions (update-----Currently my kit is based on 5 lenses and two bodies, always very reduced footprint in terms of overall weight). Combined with a fixed pancake or zoom, but also at a small fixed Olympus/Panasonic, then, it still increases its compactness and lends itself to be delightfully used even in the crowd (type in local folklore events or big events where you are taken to rubberized) with the only limitation that currently the pancakes do not yet have a particularly high quality or do not excel in AF unlike the Olympus Premium fixed and Panasonic and Panaleica fixed. It is necessary to buy at least a couple of spare batteries in addition to the one that is supplied in the package, given the autonomy of about 3/4 hours. Note. The total weight of body + 5 optics does not go beyond 2 kg and we are talking about optics from kits that still have a very good quality. Update----2 bodies + 2 Olympus PRO Optics (7-14mm and 12-40mm) + a Sigma 60mm f2.8 + 1 Panasonic 100-300mm > slight weight gain, but negligible compared to FF and APS-C counterparts

olympus_m14-42_v2rOlympus M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II R

Pros: Manual zoom and not electric like pancakes brother, relatively small size, optical quality

Cons: mainly in plastic frames, lens hood is not really worthy of the name

Opinion: Obviously, it's a lens kit, the one with which it starts to get the first pictures ... But, despite this, was able to make it a lot and it was (so far) my most used optical. The fact that the focal length is controlled manually and not electrically (such as pancakes) is an advantage, since the mechanism should be RELATIVELY less delicate. Obviously the size is larger than the EZ, but not if they miss ... shame about the lack of a good lens hood. What there is it does not protect very light and does not offer protection against bumps on the lens. For the rest, worth the price. very high optical quality.
