![]() | Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Pros: Very good sharpness and fairly fast AF Cons: In burst shooting it makes the camera (Canon) go in block with ERR Opinion: An excellent lens, I would say a superlative clone of the classic and super expensive 24/70 Canon at a cost of mere mortals. Used mainly in indoor sports in dimly lit gyms and in the theater, it gave me some great shots closing only at f3.5. Fast and responsive autofocus, even in less than optimal lighting conditions. As mentioned in the "cons", however, it has a very big flaw (for me): using the 5D M4 and the 6D, after 4-5 burst shots the camera locks with ERR. At first I got scared, I try to turn it off, I try to remove the battery and put it back on, it clicks again but after a few minutes the problem recurs. I try two other Canon lenses on the same cameras, everything goes wonderfully. Then going to search on the web reading other posts of other "companions in misfortune", I discovered that it is a full-blown problem of communication between software, for which there is no remedy. Either So or Pomì.. You just need to know how to adjust and it's great. Conclusion: excellent goal, as long as you are aware of the defect just described. sent on September 01, 2023 |
![]() | Zenit MC Zenitar 16mm f/2.8 Fisheye Pros: Spectacular! Cons: Manual fire only Opinion: Bought used by a friend, it is a lens that, if used for the purpose for which it was born, I consider it a show! It has a huge shooting angle, practically 180°, which creates a type of image that I love. Of course, we must not forget the deformation, since it is a fisheye, but in particular situations it makes excellent photos. Very sharp closing the aperture a little, for panoramas, with infinite focus, it is definitely excellent. Metal construction, typical of "dated" lenses that makes it very solid. The only flaw is the cap, whose shape tends to make it easily unhook. sent on September 01, 2023 |
![]() | Sigma 2x EX DG Pros: Excellent compatibility with Sigma 70/200 f2.8 OS, obviously from f2.8 you go to f5.6, but it perfectly maintains AF and sharpness. Cons: For the moment none. Opinion: Excellent 2X that combined with Sigma 70/200 f2.8 does its job very well, allowing you to duplicate the focal length without major defects. I must add, however, that it has always been used outdoors on a football field. I have not tried the 2X in arenas or theater, where the brightness is poorer and where it could have some problems. I'm very happy, also because bought used at a really ridiculous price. sent on September 01, 2023 |
![]() | Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Pros: Bright, fairly fast and accurate AF Cons: weight Opinion: given that it was mounted on Canon 6D, I had two theatrical experiences with dancers who moved a lot during the musicals, and I must say that, weight aside (always shooting freehand) I was definitely satisfied! Mounted on Canon 30D instead, it did not give me the same satisfactions (but I think it also depends on the different and obvious quality of the camera body). Bought used in an online store at a very good price, overall I am really satisfied! sent on September 19, 2021 |
![]() | Canon EF 100mm f/2.0 USM Pros: sharpness at TA, autofocus fast enough Cons: Lens hood Opinion: Taken used (with 1 year warranty) at a palious price from a store, I immediately saw the excellent quality of the lens, which although dated, gives really good results to TA. Small and unwieldy, it looks like the classic portrait lens, and at this point, even having the 85 f1.8 I wouldn't know which one to use anymore (better to have this spoilt for choice). I use it with 6D canon. The lampshade is to be taken apart, fortunately having the 85 I can use that, but it has a really twisted hooking system, you have to think of certain abstruse things, I do not think they can come spontaneously... to conclude, highly recommended! sent on June 22, 2020 |
![]() | Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Pros: Excellent sharpness and blurry, small and light lens Cons: autofocus not very fast but precise, unwatchable lampshade for practicality Opinion: Taken used last fall at a great price and with warranty, I used it in some fashion shows and for portraits at the Venice carnival. Used on Canon 6D. I have to say that, as mentioned by others, it has a very good sharpness from 2.8 onwards, although at more open diaphragms it is still very good. The autofocus, especially in suboptimal light situations is not very fast, but when it hooks it is accurate. Of course with open diaphragm really has a beautiful blur. Very light and short, here great to carry with, it has a really bad lampshade in the hooking, which is also found not only by me. sent on March 07, 2020 |
