nikon_z800_f6-3vrNikon Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S

Pros: Extraordinary

Cons: Difficult to use

Opinion: Accomplice the 500 f4 to the boxes for cleaning and controls I thought not to stay for an indefinite period without supertele. I therefore had the opportunity to take an extreme perspective and try a gamble by getting out of my 500mm comfort zone and going a lot further. When I pulled it out of the box I thought, "This is a joke"? Lightweight, almost half the size of the 500f4, and extremely balanced. Beautiful, with that golden circle to bring out even more the fact that it is a super lens that more "Prime" you cannot. Attached to the Z9 you feel more the weight of the camera body than that of the lens. The compactness of the Z9 and the fact of having the integrated bg, however, makes the whole absolutely perfect. Optically superlative. Colors, micro contrasts, sharpness always at the top at all openings. Blurred so well cared for, nothing to do with previous PF productions. Even the yield in the backlight is good and far from the problems of its predecessors. Monstrous Af, even higher than that of the 500f4. Pro optics, very difficult to use because of the very narrow angle of view, 1mm of movement of the lens corresponds to one meter if not more inside the viewfinder, so wrist and steady hand are essential for use in free love. Even on the tripod, however, it becomes more complex to follow the scenes because you have to calibrate the movements of the head. Once these obstacles are overcome, it becomes an extraordinary lens. Thanks to an amazing VR, the most performing ever tried to date, it becomes a perfect lens for itinerant shots in cars or boats or other vehicles but also an extraordinary aid for trekking not too long in the mountains with final stalking. Of course it must be used with criterion and knowledge of the facts, that is, it must be used at distances of normal nature photography, you can not expect to photograph subjects at 1km away and expect them to be as good as those placed at 50 meters. In any case, even the yield at long distances is excellent, even here nothing to do with the old pf. In short, promoted with flying colors. Nikon with the supertele Z has really made masterpieces and this Z 800mm f6.3 Vr is among them. Well done Nikon!

samyang_xp10_f3-5Samyang XP 10mm f/3.5

Pros: Sharpness, distortion-free, fantastic angle of view, f3.5

Cons: Weight, flare, vignetting

Opinion: After 7-8 months of use I can say that Samyang with these XP lenses has really made great strides. Used first on Nikon D850 and now on Z9 with ftz churns out spectacular rows full of detail and contrast with beautiful colors. Built in metal like the lenses of the past, it has a very fluid and precise bezel that thanks to the focus peaking of recent machines makes focusing very simple. The aperture of f 3.5 makes it excellent in astrophotography and allows exposures of up to 30-40-50 seconds and have the stars always stationary. It is an extremely correct lens from a geometric distortion point of view. It is very complex to use, it must always be put in a perfect bubble otherwise you find yourself with an obvious perspective distortion dependent on the extreme focal length and not on the qualities of the lenses which as I said is indisputable. The vignetting is well present at ta but easily removable in the raw chamber. The only sore point is the resistance to backlight due to the large bulbous lens, the flares are well present and invade the scene if you do not take care to frame without direct light sources. For the rest really spectacular I would just like to see the Xp series with Z attack, gorgeous.

nikon_d850Nikon D850

Pros: all. Almost perfect REFLEX, great in all photo genres

Cons: Non-infinite buffer such as D500 or D5 when held at 46mpx

Opinion: After trying it a couple of times in the shed I decided to buy it and trade in my D810. I literally fell in love with it. I can't understand how they did to contain the 46mpx noise and have so little micromox. Churns out files of disarming clarity. If you need top detail leave the file as it is. If you need crop leave the file as it is and cut it out. If you need cleaning just resample in CR at 6000x4000 and you have the same iso seal as the 24mpx. Precise and very fast af (such as the D500, slightly less than D5 but almost completely imperceptible with first lenses type 500f4). In Photographic Hunt with Bg and battery en El 18 you get to 9fps (difficult to distinguish its burst from that of the D500), Portraits, Landscapes, Macros, Street, Studio Photos, Nocturnal you can do everything at your best! really a multifaceted machine. I can say, as a owner also of Z6 and D500 and after having tried side by side D5 that if we have arrived at the sunset of the Reflex the D850 is the song of the Swan. Practically perfect for all photo genres, just crazy.

nikon_afs300_f4pfNikon AF-S 300mm f/4 E PF ED VR

Pros: Sharpness, weight, size, speed and precise

Cons: Maybe the blurred is a little nervous (especially with tc1.4) and the yield in the backlight but just hold it in your hand to forget everything. Cost a little excessive.

Opinion: When I first picked it up without the lampshade it seemed like a joke. Very light and very small. For travel and excursions is ideal. Pairing it with tc 1.4 and the D500 you carry around everywhere (I sometimes carry it around when I let the dog out??) a focal point of 600mm equivalent and also stabilized. It has some webbing but remains optically very good smooth and very good with the tc1.4. Positive note is the minimum distance of maf which makes it an "almost" macro. A must have for naturalistic photography with Nikon.

nikon_500d_f4_v2Nikon AF-S 500mm f/4 D ED II

Pros: Sharpness already at f4, speed and precision af, bokeh

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: After several tribulations I decided to support the 200-500 and the 300 f4 pf this incredible goal. A f4 is as sharp as the 200-500 to f8, a crazy autofocus speed, not to mention the blurry front and second floor. In short, not that you do not make the photos with 200-500 or 300f4 (with and without tc1.4) but the 500 has something magical. There are goals with magic inside, that if you don't try them you can't even explain the differences. Its only limit, but not for the use for which it is born, an exaggerated weight that forces you to keep it on the stand or to make just a few freehand shots. It's a professional lens, from a shed stakeout. Another wonder is the use in combination with tc 1.4. Shots at 700mm at f5.6 with disarming sharpness. 10, the top.

nikon_afs200-500_f5-6vrNikon AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 E ED VR

Pros: Accurate, vr stratospheric, well-balanced, optical performance

Cons: For the price range none. Maybe the lampshade.

Opinion: I've owned it for 3 years. Paired with D500 is a bomb. At 400mm and f5.6 is, af speed aside, at the same level as a fixed optics (and I say this from owner of 500 f4), to 500mm to have the top goes diaphragated to f8. Af very precise but a little slow. For the rest it is a very recommended lens, especially for safaris and itinerant shots. I took him to South Africa, with the D500 he didn't miss one and I say one photo. If it had a faster af it would cost at least twice as much.
