![]() | Samyang AF 24mm f/1.8 FE Pros: Light, good optical quality, little coma and astigmatism, bright the right. Cons: plasticous. Opinion: I was finally able to experiment with this perspective in the field for which they say it was designed, which is landscape astrophotography. I must say that the behavior in my opinion is good. I do not use the astro tracker for now so I use the fully open optics to perform panoramas that I then combine via software. For now there is no special profile on photoshop, but the profile of the samyang 24mm f2.8 is quite good, when a dedicated one comes out things will be even better. In reality the only "problem" is represented by a bit of vignetting that is completely removed from lighroom. e' present eun little coma and astrigmatism in the stars in the edges, those in the center are pointy, we are still a step ahead of the sony 28mm f2 that I used previously for this type of photo. The lens allows you to shoot at ISO2000 F1.8 20" and pull out a good dynamic range and a little color from the bulge of the Milky Way. At 20 "that would be the time that jumps out of the rule of 500 you still notice a slight stripe especially in the edges, but to have better you should use the tracker. The infinite autofocus function is useful at night but on sony a7iii once set it only allows you to shoot because it blocks all the rest of the functions until the machine restarts, which if one wants to review the photos on the spot is not the best. I shot with the factory infinity setting and the photos seem to me correctly in focus, but I'll try to see the next opportunity if there's any way to focus on the stars even better. The judgment in my opinion is very good, I state that I have never tried the 24mm GM that being at f1.4 probably brings out even better, certainly as a dynamic range, I do not know how coma and astigmatism. I state that I took this lens only for landscape astrophotography and that in practice I use it only for this purpose, preferring for other types of photos, other types of lens. ![]() | Venus Laowa 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 Pros: unique focal range Cons: slightly kneaded edges, lack of exifs. Deformation sometimes excessive. Opinion: I wanted to take away a sphid by buying this optics. For me that I love wide-angle optics is exceptional, 10 mm are really an extraordinary focal length for a straight lens (although it's definitely not a zero distortion). On the other hand I can say that the edges are quite kneaded at all diaphragms, but it is the price to pay for such an extreme optics, which still remains in my opinion acceptably sharp, very in the middle, much less at the edges. It cartoons a lot but I like it that way and I think it's normal for such an extreme lens and so small for what it from. It's not an easy view and not for everyone, for me definitely. Too bad for the lack of exifs. Needless to use it for the Milky Way, it is completely unsuitable in my opinion, or at least, the optics for this genre are other (less wide-angle and brighter), then something comes out with this too but the quality is not acceptable in my opinion for the milky way genre. The deformation is sometimes excessive and difficult to correct in the post, when lowering the point of view the horizon can become annoyingly curved, it is good to know. Overall rating 8, but I repeat with focal lengths so extreme in a 10-18 zoom I think it was difficult to get better, for me still promoted. ![]() | Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 Pros: Optical rendering, blurred pleasing, compactness, design. Cons: Not internal focus, noisy, kinda plasticous, AF pretty pathetic. Opinion: Cheap and used is still less, the optical yield is satisfactory and I made some photos with this lens that I like a lot, especially portraits. The definition is already good at 1.8, but the autofocus is slow noisy and inaccurate, it is definitely not a lens suitable for professional use, but completely dignified. sent on January 09, 2019 |
![]() | Sony FE 28mm f/2 Pros: sharpness, diameter of filters, compactness. Cons: Distortion Opinion: Lens in my opinion outstanding as sharpness and resolution. It can also be used for open-aperture portraits. With closed aperture is a blade with astonishing sharpness. Excellent the dimeter of only 49mm, very suitable for mirrorless philosophy. Remarkable distortion for a 28mm but it pulls away with a camera raw click, so for me a relative problem. Also excellent for the nocturnal astrophotography of the Milky Way. I'm still fully satisfied. sent on March 07, 2017 |
![]() | Zenit Helios 44-2 58mm f/2.0 Pros: cost, value for money, that is unbelievable, robust, all-metal feeling, spectacular bokeh. Cons: a little soft at room temperature and sharp only in the center but perhaps is its beautiful, backlit. Opinion: I must say, I found it at a flea market at 25 € and has an exceptional blurred if you have a little patience to learn to understand how it works. At the center it is sharp as it serves for portraits, blurs the edges in swirling and dramatically in some lighting situations. I use it on nex-6 and I got a few pictures that I like very much. suffers much the backlight, but it can be exploited to get some details fluorescent colors, is a lens that I love. sent on February 11, 2016 |
![]() | Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Pros: F8 sharpness on, the price of used, ability to mount 77mm filters without vignetting even at 10mm. Cons: bokeh, and a little dark, but on this objective it is not relevant Opinion: For me it is a great lens, very sharp f8 up, I took some pictures of us truly remarkable. Some people when I say that I used the lens does not believe in it, as if the sharpness was the prerogative of only f2.8 lenses. I use it for landscapes and architecture and almost always between F8 and F13, and almost always on the stand and for these uses is almost perfect, it would be perfect if it were a fixed 10mm f2.8 with 77mm filter because it could be fully exploited for the stars but do not know if it is mechanically possible to make a lens like that! sent on February 11, 2016 |
![]() | Samyang 8mm f/3.5 UMC Fish-eye CS II Pros: good overall sharpness, excellent value for money in used species. Cons: purple fringing fairly marked on some occasions, cap which is not exactly the best Opinion: It 's my first fish eye and I have many comparisons with other lenses of this type, the use of 6 months. I find it a fun and useful lens on many occasions, if you put the horizon the center of frame becomes in practice a fisheye with a high angle. With some devices you can get photos equirectangular 360x180 freehand. Good overall sharpness, manual focus is not a problem, the use of Nikon almost always endlessly to F8 and has everything in focus and sharp, a bit of purple fringing in high contrast and with a lens of this kind is inevitable have high contrast because the angle of field. For those who want a fisheye without fainting I recommend it strongly. sent on February 11, 2016 |
