![]() | Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4 G Pros: Bokeh, AF precision, sharpness, af precision, professional, weight!! Cons: At the moment none (even in 2023), maybe a few years ago the price, but now you buy at a "humane" price Opinion: Apart from the 85 1.2s which costs a kidney, I can say that the 85 1.4g is an amazing optic. Unbeatable in portraits, sharp at full aperture and never too harsh on people's faces, wonderful bokeh, one of the best 85 ever. It is now in excellent condition under 800 euros, really a bargain considering the optical quality. it also works very well on the new Z, with even more precise AF. It's a professional lens made to work, he's never taken a picture of me. Then it weighs just right, exactly half of the sigma art, and 600g of difference is an exaggeration. On mirrorless it works very well, and it's not even unbalanced with the FTZ. It costs the same as the new 85 1.8, but unfortunately for the latter it is not a 1.4, which in certain situations is needed (at least for what I do) and brings home the photo.. sent on December 16, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon 35mm f/1.4 Ai-S Pros: Sharpness, font, colors, manual Maf Cons: At full aperture suffers with high-contrast images or highlights Opinion: I have owned this sacred monster for some years, aesthetically very beautiful, does not feel the weight of age .. Very performing and with a nice character, the colors are pasty, full, like all the old Ai/Ais Nikon. The manual Maf is not a problem, a bit tiring in low light conditions and at 1.4, but you know, the limit in that case is our eye. The yield is excellent not to say superlative from 2.8 upwards, has a resolution is a hallucinatory contrast, in the center I think it is even better than the modern G. At full aperture it suffers, but it must be specified: a blue / purple halo is created on the edge in case of strong contrast (very dark object on a light background) and this tends to literally "eat" the edges of the darker subject. The more marked the contrast, the more the effect is accentuated. The light points then always at TA explode going out of their edge. In short, let's say that at first glance it is not really the best. However... knowing it with time you can get excellent results even at TA, the important thing is to use it in low contrast conditions for example on cloudy days or in any case in natural light conditions. The resolution remains excellent even at 1.4 and therefore is great for developing shots in BN. Great obviously for those who want to take creative shots with halos or flares wanted. From F.2 it improves sharply, but only from 2.8 it can be considered perfect. For those who have many ideas also seen the focal length of great use, I consider it a perfect lens that can not miss in any photographic kit FF sent on November 14, 2022 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.8 G ED Pros: Sharpness, lightness, focus Cons: Vignette, but corrects with a click Opinion: I tested this 24 nikon for the trip to Istanbul. I arrived the day before the start and so I did not have time to see precisely the fine adjustment of the focus on DF, but it already seemed very good, set to -2 by perfect results both at close range and at infinity. Having already had the big brother 24 1.4g I thought that the difference was quite marked, a bit like on all 1.8 nikon, and that is that it was more contrasted and less workable in the shadows in post production. Surprisingly, however, it turned out to be an excellent optics with the right contrast and an excellent resolution in the center already at full aperture. It is true that the 1.4 has softer tones, but the difference is not so marked. It depends on the use you want to make of it: 1.4 more inclined to portrait, 1.8 more inclined to reportage and landscape. Very light, on DF perfect match with 58 1.4 sent on November 13, 2022 |
![]() | Zeiss Milvus 35mm f/2 Pros: Metal construction, weather sealing, diaphragm Scancio x video, perfect MAF ring, mtf record. Cons: nobody, weight and manual maf are not, otherwise you do not buy one Zeiss. the only flaw that I see as an advantage is the vignetting in TA, in my view excellent in ambientati portraits. Opinion: Excellent new finish and construction of Milvus series, seem of the design objects. In the past I had the 35/2 zf. first version, the optical design is the same as well as the yield, but this Milvus has been further improved. backlit now there is no flare shadow, ring maf already perfect in the past has been improved, now is rubberized, to touch the feeling of having total control of the focus, the accuracy is amazing. Grafted on the Nikon Df is quite balanced, as opposed to the 35 / 1.4 ZF.2 that I had, which was rather unbalanced forward. great for street, made incisissima and made unique uniformity from f2 to F.16 rnInteressante also the possibility of being able to use the diaphragm with fluid, releasable through a metal stick, making it also suitable for film makers. sent on November 22, 2016 |
![]() | Nikon AF 85mm f/1.8 D Pros: Excellent construction "Made in japan" rnResa beautiful already almost TArnColori pasty and shades open, excellent x who postproduce. Cons: Does not have the internal engine, so you can use in AF only on machines equipped with the engine but not a real defect ... Opinion: I use it as a medium telephoto x shots of wedding, never a disappointment, the colors are pasty and shadows are not too contrasted as the new AFS (among other things tried and immediately returned), we say that for those who make the PP file is decidedly more space, at least from my point of view. The quality is very high already f2.rnLo will replace short-x need only with the 1.4 sent on March 14, 2015 |
![]() | Zeiss ZE/ZF.2 Distagon T* 35mm f/2 Pros: Excellent even wide open, beautiful color rendering, excellent three-dimensionality and Out of the focal planes, blurred excellent. Unique construction. Cons: A little 'heavy, the rest I can not find fault Opinion: It was my first Zeiss, and 'was love from the first use, it has a color rendering and one blurred as to make my head spin, D800E used on the sensor used in an excellent multipixellato. after taking the 35 I immediately took the 85 / 1.4 Zeiss always. Focus fairly simple construction and libidinous. Before taking this lens I had the 35/2 Nikon afd, I must say that the price difference and 'entirely justified! The best lens I've ever had sent on August 19, 2013 |
