canon_tse17Canon TS-E 17mm f/4 L

Pros: Deadly optics for a few narrow areas of use

Cons: Protruding front lens, a few too many flares/ghosts, uncomfortable and not very versatile for everything that is not architecture

Opinion: I have owned this lens for almost 10 years and I have used it a lot in the field of indoor photography and little in outdoor photography. It is deadly and highly recommended in these two cases: 1 - you are paid well to take quality photos of prestigious properties and generous dimensions. 2 - you are paid little to take photos in very narrow rooms, with this you solve many of your problems during the shooting phase and the post is very fast. In all other cases it is a lens that you probably don't need, any 16-35 zoom does just as well and costs less as well as being much more versatile in all other contexts (landscape, sport, street, etc.) To use it at its best it takes a little more time in the shooting phase, to adjust the framing with the shift function and personally it lengthens my time a bit because I let myself be tempted and try different shift values and often while I'm at it I make panoramas of 3 shots (multiplied by the braketing values) where they may not be needed. On the quality side, it is not as top as you might believe, in terms of sharpness and flare resistance it is beaten big time by the more "cheap" and modern EF 16-35 f/4 L. It also has a slight distortion that does not correct as well as with other more common lenses. Its biggest flaw is that especially in the case of many point lights you find ghosts and flares here and there to be corrected in post. I have used the tilt function a handful of times for pleasure and never for work.

canon_rf28_f2-8stmCanon RF 28mm f/2.8 STM

Pros: Tiny, fast and crisp

Cons: few, perhaps the lack of stabilization

Opinion: It is a more than honest lens in all its characteristics but its strength is undoubtedly the very small footprint. Little more than a cork.. I mainly took it as a "backup" lens to have in my bag in case the all-rounder zoom broke when I'm away for work, and luckily I never had to use it. So I loved it for light outputs on the RF (almost pocket-sized pair) and video on the R6, I would say excellent, it never disappoints. Maybe a bit expensive as much as I paid for it (more than 400 as soon as it came out).

canon_rf85_f2macroCanon RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM

Pros: Sharpness, versatility

Cons: "Cheap" appearance, heavier and noisier than expected.

Opinion: Switching from SLR to mirrorless, I sold EF 85 1.8 and Tamron 90 2.8 Macro to take this. I don't know if it's because I subconsciously have to justify buying it, yet I'm using it a lot. Especially for food photos, commercial closeups and portraits. Not yet tested in bright light or events with fast subjects, but it seems great to me. Compared to the old 85 it seems slightly sharper, however, that sadness the front lens so small ... The old man was a big mouth hungry for light. The focus to go from closeup to infinity is not very fast, but not even tragic as I read on the web. (One guy was talking about 10-15 seconds... No, it will be 2 or 3 at most!) Always compared to the old EF the focus has a noise that I just do not like, but who cares. In comparison to the other fixed economic RF on the weight side there is a step back: despite having less glass than the old 1.8 this weighs a hair more.

lowepro_flipside_300Lowepro Flipside 300

Pros: Very comfortable and capacious in the main part. The waist hook system to pick up/change equipment without taking off your backpack is truly incredible.

Cons: Aesthetically ugly, it does not have a pocket for PC / tablet, little capacious pockets and other spaces. System to hook the smart tripod but very ugly to see .. The black fades a little over time.

Opinion: Backpack bought 5 years ago and used less than other backpacks because there is no possibility to bring a PC or tablet. Certainly very safe against theft (it does not open if you keep it on the back) and turning it in front, it is "horizontal" as on a table, to change or take stuff, brilliant! Very comfortable and spacious the main part (maybe a bit narrow, but deep just right to put a medium zoom "standing"). The other pockets and compartments are very small (especially those on the side). Mine after an "ontheroad" in the United States in August, has faded a bit ', and now in the sun is not really black but reddish, to understand the same shade that has the hair of a dog or a black cat seen in full sun :3

lowepro_fastpack_bp250aw_iiLowepro Fastpack BP 250 AW II

Pros: Capacious, and very comfortable on the shoulders. Excellent materials like all lowepro (I have 4 backpacks all of the same brand)

Cons: The photographic part is not well exploitable, too "deep", and difficult to understand if it is open or closed with the horizontal backpack, eye to move it that the stuff can fall.

Opinion: It was my "heavy" backpack for a few years, then I switched to the Truckee series. It's a very robust and capacious backpack, but the part dedicated to photography is not very exploitable in my opinion, too deep, and it's not like you can put something on top of a SLR or a lens. Also with this backpack a couple of times a very dangerous thing happened to me: during the services I left it open (the zip), other people took it to move it and the stuff fell .. Attention, always close the zip!! Great backpack to carry a lot of stuff but not very organized, here.

lowepro_truckee_bp250lxLowepro Truckee BP 250 LX

Pros: Beautiful, practical and spacious

Cons: only flaw ... the light part gets dirty easily and is difficult to clean

Opinion: After two years of younger brother (the 200), I got this: the ultimate backpack for me. I can put R6 with 24-105, 70-200 f / 4 and also two small fixed as the 16 and 50 (all RF lenses of course ..) and maybe in the upper part there is also a drone of the Mavic Air or Mini series and a small sweatshirt. Compared to the 200 it has two more fundamental things: -a few cm more depth that allows you to insert the machine on the side and therefore make better use of the space for the equipment -a double side holster to carry water bottle / umbrella / mini tripod (the 200 has only one on one side) The backpack is modern and elegant, The excellent materials, the white part unfortunately gets dirty easily and even after a wash does not come back perfect. Too bad. The seams are very resistant, both he and the 200 I loaded them to the impossible and I never had breaks. Highly recommended!

lowepro_truckee_bp200lxLowepro Truckee BP 200 LX

Pros: Beautiful, practical, excellent materials

Cons: if you get dirty the light part is difficult to clean

Opinion: I have this backpack for 3 years, replaced with the older brother 250 only recently. I used it as an everyday backpack and for photographic outputs with SLR + a pair of lenses or mirrorless kit. I absolutely recommend it, it is very nice and elegant, practical, but of course you have to be aware of the relatively little space available. When in doubt, I recommend the older brother: as external dimensions it is not incredibly larger, it is that 15-20% deeper and allows you to put a reflex "to the side" and therefore in theory you can better exploit the spaces.

canon_rf24-105_f4usmCanon RF 24-105 mm f/4 L IS USM

Pros: image quality, versatility

Cons: Easily scratchable outer coating, price

Opinion: The old adapted EF lenses are fine, and in fact I continued to use the old 24-105 on the R6 for a while... But in the end I felt I had something uncomfortable and unbalanced in my hand, here I took the optics in question, hesitant, thinking only of spending 1000 euros more to have the same thing. But no! It surpasses the old EF through and through, especially the new generation stabilization is noticeable... And in terms of sharpness, I was impressed. So what can I say, I am satisfied with the purchase and it is an optics almost always hooked to the machine. The only flaw to be picky is that the opaque outer coating is also scratched with the nails (and I keep them very short), and in fact mine after a few months is already quite marked near the bayonet .. What a pity! Small reasoning whether to switch to this or keep the old: photography as a hobby - EF // photography as work and use a lot of these focal lengths - RF now! photography as work and use little these focal lengths - EF // gimbal video - RF absolutely, EF + adapter impossible to balance // video on tripod or monopod / follow focus - EF // handheld video - RF for stabilization and balance

canon_rf16_f2-8stmCanon RF 16mm f/2.8 STM

Pros: weight, size, price

Cons: Image quality not at the top but that's okay

Opinion: After years of 16-35, bought for landscaping, and used less and less for work (I also have the 17 TSE), I decided to take this 16 RF enticed by the price and especially by the size. If in fact before I thought well whether to take the 16-35 with me, especially on the road, now with this the problem does not arise, it is always with me and I do not even notice it. Compared in the field with the 16-35 is obviously inferior in quality, but for the average use of my work photographs (which go on sites or social) it is not a problem at all. The newly opened raws make you cry, but with a click the smile returns. It's plastic, ok, but such a small lens hardly slams it somewhere or if it falls, it's very light and it's all in one block so I don't think it's easier to break than a classic zoom 16-35 L series. Still to be tried in strong backlights but my opinion is more than positive! I recently took it on a trip to London (a dry day) along with the 50 RF and RP (I also have the R6) and it gave me joys.
