![]() | Vivitar 70-210mm f/4.5-5.6 Macro Focusing Zoom Pros: Cost Cons: Practically everything: Sharpness, Lens creep, Vignetting, Brightness, Chromatic aberrations, etc. Opinion: I state that I have the version of the Kiron, highly inferior to the Vivitar (in terms of sharpness) and therefore also in price (35 €) ... It has several flaws, but with a simple 15 € focal multiplier of the Yashica (not the Zeiss) you can get the 630mm (always counting that I am using this cannon on a sony apsc so the focal length of 1.5x must be multiplied). I recommend the use of a nice stable tripod because at 630mm without stabilizer it is hard, I managed to take only a few freehand photos (ghosting remains even at 1/320s and further reducing the situation does not change, it just becomes darker). Another very obvious problem, which I do not know if it depends on the Kiron model is that the focus is very close for a telephoto lens, about 100-150m as the crow flies. I don't know how the multiplier alters the photos, but the low sharpness is certainly not his problem, since with the Zeiss lens it had no flaws... However in all respects there is little to complain about this price (about € 80 also counting the adapter), if you have a Vivitar please post a more suitable review on this page! sent on February 07, 2022 |
![]() | Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Pros: Cost, Weight, Dimensions, Versatility, OSS Cons: Brightness, Materials, Vignetting, Distortions, Chromatic aberrations, Poor AF Opinion: Optical kit, usable by amateurs and newcomers in the field of photography. It costs very little to be a zoom AF, usually it is used at 100 € if not 90 (they literally pull it against you)... Poor materials of the part that expands, suffers from all the problems of pancakes and especially vignette at 16mm and is not very sharp at f / 3.5 must be set at least to 4. Noisy zoom, stabilizer useful for slightly longer exposures freehand, up to 1/10 if you have very firm hands / arms. Take it only if necessary or unique available in your area. sent on February 05, 2022 |
![]() | Sony E 35mm f/1.8 OSS Pros: All: Brightness, Sharpness, Materials, Cost, AF, Ease of Use Cons: For the price... Nothing! Opinion: This lens is nothing short of fantastic, I use it for a bit of everything even if now I tend to use it less. Very useful for portraits of people and animals, weddings etc. Used is about 200 €, magnificent price! If you set everything to automatic you just have to point and shoot and most of the time the photos will be perfectly as you wanted them! Particular fact of the lens, both, initial and final element are concave. sent on February 05, 2022 |
![]() | Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III Pros: Weight, Cost, Versatility, Ease of Use Cons: Everything else: Sharpness, Brightness, Materials Opinion: Basic lens that anyone can have. Lens for beginners or animators who have just started photographing. It does its job and doesn't do it very well, as soon as you can, take any other zoom lens that is wider and brighter. Do not pay too much attention to the expenses as the prices do not tend to change much from new to used ... To be avoided if possible!!! sent on February 05, 2022 |
![]() | Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.7 (C/Y) Pros: Very sharp for 120€! Cons: Very noticeable flare without lens hood, focus ring with a lot of play, if lens overused (3-4 ° rotation without changing in the slightest) Opinion: Optics of excellent quality, purchased for about € 120 in about mid-2021 (+ urth adapter at € 29), for that price it is rare to find better! Maybe canon fd 50/55mm f/1.4 or 1.2 would be better, but I've never tried them... To use it at its best you need a lens hood to fight the very noticeable flare! (universal can also be found at 10€) I don't know if it can be a different model, but my specimen has only 6 opening slats, it still produces a flashy hexagonal bokeh. The large aperture also allowed me to try two skyrocketing photos. On a sony alpha 5000 you take beautiful photos, I use it for portraits and some situations in nature. I also recommend to amateurs like me! When I have some time I publish the photos taken with this beauty! sent on February 03, 2022 |
