Pros: Made like a tank, yellow-green dominants, beautiful to see, vignetting marked at 210mm, f 3.5 constant, easy to disassemble and clean, it also has the writings on the front ring with a beautiful font like the one on the barrel and are also colored! Excellent macro function that makes you get very close to objects.

Cons: It is not made for those looking for sharpness and hyperdetail.

Opinion: I speak for the Vivitar Series 1 70-210 f 3.5 first series, since there is no list.... Bought for 50€ because it had a halo in the third lens of the front group that I easily cleaned, everything else was in excellent condition, including the original metal cap. Used on serious SLR bodies such as Nikon D700 and similar, it balances perfectly and is a pleasure to use. It tends to green-yellow as a rendering, giving a vintage halo to your shots with a sharpness more than good and a splendid vignetting at 210 mm \\ f 3.5 that will embellish your portraits. Aesthetically it is a fairy tale to see and every mechanism moves fluidly, plus it has a very effective macro function with a crank to insert it fun to use. The bokeh is vaguely swirl. If you find it in good condition under 100€ it is definitely worth it; I looked for the first version, the one from the serials with the first 2 numbers "22" produced by Kiron, while the third digit is the end of the year of production, in my case 228, then 1978, the front diameter is 67 mm. Watch out for the fluidity of the pump mechanism and the mushrooms always lurking. Recommended for lovers of old people, together with its close relative Kiron 70-210 f 4.0 pump and the Vivitar 70-210 f 3.5 bighiera, from the creamy fluidity of maf movements and zoom unparalleled in the world of vintage optics.

Pros: Cost

Cons: Practically everything: Sharpness, Lens creep, Vignetting, Brightness, Chromatic aberrations, etc.

Opinion: I state that I have the version of the Kiron, highly inferior to the Vivitar (in terms of sharpness) and therefore also in price (35 €) ... It has several flaws, but with a simple 15 € focal multiplier of the Yashica (not the Zeiss) you can get the 630mm (always counting that I am using this cannon on a sony apsc so the focal length of 1.5x must be multiplied). I recommend the use of a nice stable tripod because at 630mm without stabilizer it is hard, I managed to take only a few freehand photos (ghosting remains even at 1/320s and further reducing the situation does not change, it just becomes darker). Another very obvious problem, which I do not know if it depends on the Kiron model is that the focus is very close for a telephoto lens, about 100-150m as the crow flies. I don't know how the multiplier alters the photos, but the low sharpness is certainly not his problem, since with the Zeiss lens it had no flaws... However in all respects there is little to complain about this price (about € 80 also counting the adapter), if you have a Vivitar please post a more suitable review on this page!
